Ok I already checked the lounge, but I may have missed it so if need be just delete it. This topic is more or less what the topic says: if you were to be famous for one thing what would it be. This is more or less can also be what are your dreams and aspirations you want to accomplish in life. I just thought of this thread a while ago because of one of my friends nagging at me. What happened was a week ago I was at work serving a huge professional banquet hall with doctors and politicians yadda yadda. Then this photographer/video camera guy comes up to me because he said I looked familiar. After trying to get this guy to leave me alone because I had NO clue who he was, he started to talk to one of my supervisors so I knew he was no wacko. He then later hands me his business card and a magazine he has out after I'm done my shift, and he asks me if I would like to become a model or at least do some photo shoots for a magazine or advertisement. I told him I woudl think about it, but I already knew I wouldn't do it. I then tell my friend afterwards and she gets mad at me for it. She told me to at least try it out because I was being selfish if I didn't...how don't ask me. She claimed that there are a lot of people that spend so much time and effort to become a model and will never be one, then I do nothing but stand there and get the chance to become one. I still have no intentions on phoning back. I told her at the end that if I was to become famous for something, or to be known for something I would wish it to be making a difference in the world. More or less everyone wishes the same thing, but if I could make the slightest difference it would make me content. So basically that is what I aspirations are, I was just wondering what some other people's are and how you came about with it.

My favourite sport...by far HOCKEY!! I love it!! I've been skating since I was 3, then I went into powerskating and figure skating. But I found out that one of my friends (yes a girl) played hockey so I signed up for it (yes I'm a girl). I've been playing it for 10 years now I'm probably going to quit though soon because I don't have time to play competively as I use to. But it's great to see a "big, tough guy label" think they can play better then me, when they can't. Or when most people I tell don't believe me when I say I play it because I don't fit this made up stereotype for it. But I love it all the same.:D

Well i completely agree with you guys when you say that people should go out with others not based on their looks, but by their personalities. I know many guys I turned down are probably thinking I may just be the biggest b**** but it was because they based their opinions of asking me out based on my looks. I went out with some that may not be so reputable to what others may think, but they knew me for who I was not for something I may appear to be.

So you got kids...now watcha going to name them?
*madEE* replied to Yu Yu Hakusho!'s topic in General Discussion
I just had this conversation with my friends a whle ago... For a boy I would name him Tristan James *insert last name :)*, because that name has been passed down in my family for a long time. I just revised the first name from Tristram to Tristan. And for a girl Isabel Elanor *insert last name*. Just because I like that name, plus I took Elanor from Samwise Gamgee's first daughter's name :D One of my friend said she wanted to name her kids Ben and Jemima. So that when they have kids they would become Uncle Ben (boxed rice product) and Aunt Jemima (syrup). I only hope whoever she marries has more sense  Other than that I would prefer to keep my last name when I get married, unless he has a better last name than mine and I like the way it sounds :D -
Well it's good that you guys get along, but if you are not sure yet that you are ready to meet maybe it's best just to continue getting to know each other better. Of course I don't know how long you have been talking to her for, so I can't really judge by that. It seems like your not really sure for yourself whether or not meeting up is the best thing to do right now, so just tell her the truth. That you would feel more comfortable meeting her first, than maybe in the near/far future you can decide about the holiday together when the situation is less complicated. Besides maybe when you meet first your thoughts will change. Good luck with your decision.

Christmas spirit?? No I haven't gotten it yet, for the past few years I haven't really gotten it either. When Christmas comes it comes, no biggy, I'm not really big on holidays. I know everyone around my work is crazy about it, around my friends not so much. I think it's just too busy of a time to think about these things, besides why shop for others when I can shop for ME :D !! What a greedy person I am, oh well, I was thinking of doing more volunteering though for the season, and I suppose  I should start christmas shopping. Oh but I do love the snow during christmas!! It wouldn't be the same without it, and the outdoor skating and bonfire...that melts the snow oops.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh i hate to say this, but i really don't know what you are all talking about in response to this post. i personally do not see much point to life anymore. if it wasn't for hurting the people that i love, i would have killed myself by now.
Yes to kill yourself would be a selfish act I think, or so I learned the hard way. To escape all life's problems b/c you see no point in living; nothing to keep you here but to hurt all those you leave behind. Those who were with you all through life and to let them suffer knowing you are gone. I have watched or known about my friends dying, knowing all to well that they had a short life to live. They never got to experience everything in life, but to end my life would be too selfish. Their's was taken never to have the choice like I did. How much they would probably love to take my spot in life, and to make full use of it. I hope you don't take your life away, I know if you dig deeper there must be more to it then you know. It's not actually asking someone for help, or going to a doctor, but if it gets worse PLEASE seek help with friends. You don't really know me, but I know you have some really great friends on OB that would be willing to give you a hand.

I'm sorry to hear about this but the best thing you can do is probably talk to someone you really trust, like a friend or family. If not then go to a doctor that you can confide in, and ask if there are any drugs availuable that they could prescribe like Paxil or someone they could let you talk it through with. Not everyone can control this, and sometimes its best to let others know to help you through.

Hmm before I die, well depends how long I have. I mean if I didnt really have that much time left I would spend the rest of my time with friends and family. If I had enough time I would like to travel the world and go sky diving...but I guess I would be doing those things in a few months...but I DONT want to die after those experiences just because I did it!! Darkness - That would be nice to write a fantasy novel, but I'm too much of a procrastinator to do the one I had in mind. If you do go through with that novel let us know!!:whoops:

I also felt a little nervous at first, but as soon as I turned 16 I was forced to learn how to drive!! LOL my dad wanted someone else in the house that he could trust to drive, even now my sister is 2 yrs older and still doesn't know how to drive. But I had to get my learners, take the classes, lessons and the test all within a month. So I was a little nervous to begin with. It was worth it in the end b/c he got me a car, but I'm always one of the drivers when we go out with friends. :( But I don't drink and drive no worries. All I have to say is it gets better with time, especially since you start to relax. But don't get carried away, and like others say FOCUS!! And don't drink and drive!! Other then that have fun!!:D

I know what you guys mean, when I was in school or when I had to wake up early for work or a game I was never really able to concentrate on what I was doing. But now my hours when I sleep are really weird...I sleep some days for 16 hrs and others for 2 hrs. I stay awake all night and sleep during the day. So I do feel like a zombie at times, being the only one awake at night, and a vampire in the morning. :D
Originally posted by Kain This is just a theory of mine so just keep an open mind about this.I hear alot of you say you believe in reincarnations of people.Well if reincarnations do happen that must mean that we have no soul of our own.I know you all are saying i'm crazy right now but hear me out.Our souls that we carry are someone elses. Our bodies are just vessels for it/them to travel in.What do you have to say about this?
No I think that we have no body of our own, but the soul IS us. So our mind is seperate from our body.
Originally posted by Sara Why do you spell it with a k?
I can't exactly remember why but I think it's because with the k it's suppose to be "true magick" while magic is just simple tricks. Something of the sort. But I also agree with others, let her believe in what she wants to, but she should never harm anyone in doing so. Especially as you say she took revenge upon some people. I believe in magick, (I too am Catholic though) but then again I think almost anything is possible if they believed in it. However some things should never be meddled with, and that whatever people do consequences will follow. Perhaps she should think out what she is going to do, before following through. MysticBabe - I too thought warlocks were guys.... eh too much tv rots my brain, but they'll never take mine away from me. ^_^

Sure I believe in ghosts, why not. I guess I believe in UFOs, other galaxies, and government conspiracies ooOOOoo. :D But as I told my friend before I'm not afraid of stuff like that, because if they were real I don't think they would be attacking us in this life time. Maybe only our kids or grandkids time. I do believe in life after death, and that our soul still exists to be carried on to the other life. But I think that our soul probably has crossroads and have different choices, ultimately heaven being one of them, then I also think that reincarnation is possible. But I believe in our souls being carried on because I believe in soul mates ;) I'm a sucker for stuff like that. As for superstitions, you take some you lose some, but I'm not that superstitious.

I use to not like my name when I was younger because I wanted to have a more common name. But I don't mind my name anymore. My first name is Madeline, though I can't remember what the meaning is for it I know it orginates from Mary Magdalene probably. My middle name is Suzanne which means trusting. As for my last name I wouldn't tell that. :p It's not a common last name, in fact I think all those that have that last name I'm probably related to them. In Canada there are only four families with the last name, two are uncles, and one a second cousin we just found out about. But, I know in New Zealand there are more with that last name since it came from there.

I think everyone probably has a sixth sense. It's just that some notice it more then others, or I guess believe in it more than others. Which could make the difference, possibly, maybe... I don't know I thought I would try. :D

Darkness - That was a nice portrayal of what you thought in the poem, I would have to agree that not everyone can show what they really are in order to go with this so called "normalcy" in society. When I was younger I was probably not too much of the real me when I first moved and was fitting in with the crowds. But It pretty much changed after wards most people respect me for who I am individually, and I never really had too much problems after I stood up for what I believed in. But not everyone can truly be who they want to be when society comes nit picking. But I agree with some people that being normal just means the average.
-
Yeah!! More people admitting their sixth senses, I already mentioned mine before but for those that never did read it... It's much the same as everyone elses I usually have dreams that happens a while later, sometimes as warnings. I know that it's been passed down for quite a few generations, that and being able to sense when something is going to happen before it does. Personally I find it creepy when it comes as a warning, because of that I always warn people not to do things if I have a bad feeling. Heh sometimes they think I'm crazy, but I'm just glad some heed my advice. But I don't need to go into details about that. As for the auras thing, I never been able to see it, but that doesn't mean I don't believe in it. I know this one psychic lady came up to my friend, because she liked the colour of the aura from her, and told her that she will tell her the future for free. Of course my friend took it, so far it seems likely, but it could be lucky geusses. But I think that would be cool to be able to see the auras. But that brings another question, do you guys believe in psychics? Or that they are just hocus pocus make up a bunch of crap lol. Sere and those who have ghosts in their house... FREAKY!! lol, yes it is, I know my family is heavy spiritually, and we have been able to sense spirits good and bad. When I was a little kid I used to be able to hear what I thought was my dad's slippers walking up and down the basement stairs. Only my sister and I heard it whenever we were home alone. Except my cure for when I was little was "they can't get me if I'm sleeping!!" lol, yes they did!! With nightmares. But then again I have a pretty crazy family past from what I hear, I know 3 or 4 generations back they were witches or high priestesses, where they came from. But now they are converted so don't come for any witch hunts after me!! Ok that last bit is completely irrelevent, but would be my only real connection to why my family and I until this day can sense things.

Hmmm you know what I'M thinking...freak!! :freak: lol Just kidding, no, that's my friend who can read minds, and that is only in person. Not unless she can telepathetically connect with the computer...hmmm...no. I also get quite a bit of deja vu, but usually I can just sense what is going to happen before it does or remember it in a dream. One time I freaked my friends out because we were on some country road late at night driving and I told them I had a feeling someone was going to be on the road. :nervous: A few minutes later we saw someone jogging coming straight at us, we almost hit them then we swerved in time. HAHAHAHA it was hilarious, everyone was soo spooked out already because I said that and we were screaking like crazy. I think the person probably was more scared if he heard us screaming though lol.

There's not too much to my name, it's just short for my real name Madeline. Since most people just call me Maddy. But it was an inside joke why I put the E's to be big. To tell you the truth I can't even remember what the joke was about. Heh maybe I'm getting too old. :(

sandramaxwell06 I have the same secret, but it's really no secret amongst those who know me though. Actually it's something that is passed down in our family though I'm not really sure how. The same thing with one of my friends, the women in the family can read minds. Sorry to get a bit of topic. As for real secrets, it would defeat the ppurpose of calling them secrets if I blabbed them out to everyone. ;)
