Why would you go by the Konami ban list if you're playing Eng? That list is meant for post-309 play Oo;;
I go by the ban list because I think the ban was a good idea (although I don't agree with every card on there), and I want to ready myself for the change when it comes to the States. Adversity breeds improvement.
Personally, I think your deck is really random. If you're trying like a really really little rush, this deck won't do it. Your magic is random, as is your monster zone. Please fill me in on what your trying to run. Uh, for people that post their decks from now on, would you mind posting the theme along w/ the deck?
Is it really random? I know I forgot to mention that it was a Warrior deck, but with nine of fifteen monsters being Warriors, it's not random. The DD Scout Planes are there to fuel the Strike Ninja, the tomato is there to get out Matsata, DDSP or one of the searchers, and the FK#1 is there to get out Winguard, S. Samaurai or the Chaos Rider. The Spells aren't random; they're Warrior support.
Read the book, saw the movie. Liked The Book better.
Before I begin, I'd just like to say that the above was the single most clever thing I've read all weekend. Ahem; I haven't seen The Passion and have no intention to. I am Christian, but I still don't plan to see it. The simple reason is that a movie is a result of a director's vision. Everyone is talking about how accurate it is, but it's only accurate to how Mel Gibson pictured the events. You're seeing Mel Gibson's version of Christ's death, not the actual event. Now, this is in no way a slam on Gibson. I like him, and I like his work. I also know that he researched the events and strove for histroical accuracy. However, the fact remains that this is his vision of the events. His vision of the crucifiction is different from my vision. When I picture Christ dying for my sins, I don't want to have the image replaced by someone else's idea of how it happened. It probably goes back to my basic views on religion, that religion is a personal experience, and you must find personal meaning it its teachings. Christ connects directly to me through His love and His sacrifice; I don't need Mel Gibson to be the middle man. I'll probably see it at some point, but I'm not going to go out of my way for it. What would you do if you were president?
DeathBug replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
There is not enough money in the world to entice me to take that job. Now, absolute monarch, on the other hand...
I haven't met you before, but I already like you. ^__^ You know, realistically, the President can't accomplish most of the things people are suggesting. When you're taking about legislature, that's Congress. (And remember, if pro is the opposite of con, Congress is the opposite of progress.) Although it might not seem like it, the President's powers in these areas are rather limited. -
I ate Escargo, in France. What was it like? You know that feeling you get when your nose is really stuffed up and you accidently inhale too hard and a glob of mucus slids down your throat? That's the texture. It actually tasted pretty good, though. Basically, it'll taste like whatever spices and seasonings you place on them; the actual items are tasteless. Mine had pepper, and this spice whose name I can't remember.

Has anyone seen this movie? It's a teen comedy, and I had zero expectations for it. However, it's now my favorite teen comedy of all time. Basically, this guy wants to meet his German pen pal and hook up with her, and he and his friends get in many a misadventure on the way. There were two parts that didn't really rub me the right way, but the rest of the film was great. It was smarter than your average ten movie, and had a killer soundtrack. So, did anyone else see it?

i'll just come out and say it: I'm really not a big Star Wars fan. I'm sorry, but it's a fairy tale with space ships. The prequels were painful, and I really only liked the original (A New Hope). I like certain aspects of it, but on the whole, ehhh.... Star Trek, though, is awesome. The original has great cheez value, and the Next Generation is an excellant show. Deep Space Nine was okay, and I like a lot of Voyager, but...I never really enjoyed Enterprise. Ah, well. I really, really liked two out of the three Matrix movies. Matrix: Reloaded was a filler piece of carp, but the others blew my mind.

I'd like to say this bothers me, but...ehh. The only thing on toonami that I even watch anymore is Yu yu Hakusho, and that's just because I missed it the first several dozen times around. It's true; Toonami's been stale for at least the past two years. best that they stop now rather than continue degrading their former glory. (Glory being a relative term) The good anime is on Adult Swim, and Saturday night provides the rest. I don't really have time to watch TV in the afternoons anyway (except for the Simpsons at five), so...yeah, this just does'nt bother me. Oh, I'd also like to take this time to point out that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series kicked all kinds of arse (At least for the first couple a' seasons) . Krang pwns you; Krang pwns everyone.

Inu-Yasha is one of my anime favorites, but...well, it seems like it's starting to loose focus as it goes along. there's only so many times they can play the will they?/won't they? game with Inu Yasha and Kagomae. There's only so many time Naraku can disappeare in the heat of battle before it gets monotonous. They really ought to wrap up the Naraku storyline and finally have Inu and Kagomae settle things.

Anime Wow... they're just like me!: Characters you identify with
DeathBug replied to Balinese's topic in Otaku Central
Aww, someone already said Vash...but I am like Vash the stampede, as well. I don't like to take life too seriously, and have many disappointments with the ladies. ^^; As my current avatar reflects, I also feel a little like Ryu, from Shaman King. Ryu gets into a situation that's really over his head, but still does his best with it. It seems like everyone around him has their own Drama (R) going on, and he just wants to help them out. A lot of my friends have (uneccessary, IMO) Drama (R) and Teen Angst (TM) going on around them, and I'm sitting there, really not involved in the situation at all. All i know is, I want to help, and I offer my services whenever I can. Also, Ryu feels 'out of place', and is most at home on the road. I also tend to feel out of place, and am at home while in transition. The destination might leave me feeling out of place yet again, but during the journey to get there, I'm happy. And, in another twist, I really identified with Impmon, from Digimon: Tamers. He was always on the outside, looking in at other peoplee njoying themselves. Been there too many times to count. He, like me, convinces h imself that he's better off where he is. So, yeah...the outer personality of Vash, the situations of Ryu and the misanthopy of Impmon; I'm like a whacked-out anime martini. -
First, your deck is too durn big; we want to get it to around 40-42 cards. Hmmm.... First, remove all your Blue Eyes and Red eyes, plus the Lords and Flutes. Mefist is an average card, but you might want to consider upgrading to Great Maju Garret. You're deck's kind of all over the place, but a few other things I noticed were that it has too mny traps. Traps are a bit slow; I'd have seven, tops. Remove a few; whichever are the least helpful in a duel. Your deck lacks any muscle in the form of a strong lvl 4 monster. Try to get a Giant Orc, Archfiend Soldier, Slate Warrior, or Mad Dog of Darkness. As for your magics, remove Ante and Different Dimension Capsule. Add in two more Mystical Space Typhoons. You need to select a theme for your deck; Gravekeeper, perhaps? Anyway, my newest deck. It obeys the current Japanese Ban list, and is upated for Invasion of Chaos. Monsters: Marauding Captain Goblin Attack Force Amazon Archer DD Warrior Lady Matsata the Zapper Little Winguard Sasuke Samaurai Chaos Rider Gustaph Strike Ninja DD Scout Plane x2 Flying Kamikari #1 Mystic Tomato Witch of the Black Forest Sangan Traps: Waboku Mirror Force Torrential Tribute Destruction Ring Call of the haunted Reckless Greed Spell: Monster reborn Pot of Greed Dark hole Graceful Charity Snatch Steal Premature Burial Giant Trunade Mystical Space Typhoon x3 Mirage of Nightmares United We stand Fairy of the spring Reinforcements of the Army x2 Scapegoat The Warrior Returning Alive Heavy Storm Nobleman of crossout Card Destruction

So many possible choices...head exploding... Well, I wouldn't mind living in a world where the most important thing on the planet was a card game, but I'd still pass on YGO. The Big O world, while it has that cool retro feel, can be waaayyy too depressing at times. If I lived in the Tenchi Muyo! world, would I have five really cute roomies? Wolrds that would be just plain fuin would be the Furi Kuri world, the Shaman King world, and the Pokemon world. On the whole, though, I'd have to pick the Outlaw Star world/universe. Pirates, outlaws, and cute cat girls; who could ask for more?

Turnabout- Girls have to pay for tickets. That sucks.

I don't think it sucks if you're a guy. I mean, guys usually pay for everything, or are expected to. Is it that much of a thing to ask the girls to ask/pay at least once?

I don't really catagorize the types of people I find offensive; I think most of us agree on what's annoying. However, the one thing that infuriates me no end: those who do not take responsibility for their actions. You know them; nothing is ever their own fault. The fat who sue McDonalds. The neglectful parents who don't know why their children misbehave. The lazy who are being 'kept down'. God forbid anyone admit that it might be their own fault that they're in a bad situation. The greatest problems today are caused by a lack of responsibility.I see it, and it drives me nuts.

When I was a kid...I wanted to write comics. Comic books were basically my entire disposable income and free time...a wee bit scary, actually. Nowadays, i wanted to e a lawyer, working in the FBI. I want a job that combines the joysof arguing for hours with the thrill of carrying a concealed weapon. Rapture, baby.

When I'm sick...I hardly ever stay home. I'm incredibly stubborn, so if I come down with something, I'll go to school anyway; spread the germs around, I guess. If I should ever be so sick that leaving the house isn't possible, I'll still refuse to lie down. I'll work on...something. Anything. School work, chores, whatever. Basically, I have to be clinicalluy dead to just lie around watching TV. ^^; Like I said, stubborn...

I'm very, very interested in your line of logic. If parents can't teach their children the proper method of percieving the media, why is it the educators' responsibility? I will argue that it is, in fact, a matter of bad parenting. An elementary teacher in America sees about thirty or so kids for seven hours a day. It's the teacher's job to instill proper media perceptions into a child? The teacher, as opposed to the parent/s who should be raising the kid? That makes little sense. I'm not saying that the teacher shouldn't try to explain these things to a class, but learning starts at home. The parent is, in most cases, the foremost influence on a child. The parent has the power over their child's perceptions. It is their job to teach the child the difference between reality and fiction, not educators.
Deathbug, I know what you're talking about, but the fact is that parents have less of an influence on their children than they used to. (I'm not attacking you in any way here, BTW_ _U)[/SIZE']
Isn't it the parent's choice how much of an influence they have over their kids? Parents only loose the ability to influence kids if they allow themselves to. Many parents nowadays do, but that doesn't mean there aren't still parents who actually parent.
It's not the desensitization of youth, which is sort of a different branch, but rather the message that we ought to fit a certain image. [/SIZE']
There's always been a 'certain image' people wish to fit; the realization that this image is deceptive, at best, must be made by children, and their parents ought to take a hand in getting the pointr accross.
Simply being told by one's parents that you are fine the way you are doesn't really have value any more. [/SIZE']
My first question is, "Why not?" My second question is, why are you simplifying it thusly? An active parent should be constantly reinforcing a child's self-worth through actions, not just words. The basic principle I'm espouting is that parents should be able to teach their children the difference between reality and fiction, and help them understand real-world values. That's all.
-
Well, I think that, as always, it is the responsibility of the parents to know what their children are watching, and understand what types of messages said shows are delevering. On the other hand, if the parents constantly instil a good sense of self into the child, and help them diferentiate from reality and fantasy, or let them know which behaviors are acceptable, constant supervision won't be necessary. I used to play Doom all the time, as young as eight years old, and I never had a desire to blow my classmates away. I understood the difference between reality and games. It depends on the child and the situation, I suppose.

I usually ignore genre labels on just about all entertainment, including manga. The target audience isn't important to me; the only important audience is myself. That said, I don't follow any shoujo series (unless Tenchi Muyo! is counted) currently, because none that I am aware of currently appeal to me.

If IWR works for you, by all means, keep him. IWR's Spirit abilities actually give him an edge over guys like Jinzo #7. J7 is going to stay on the field and wait to be crushed, unable to defend himself with his 500 attack poiints. IWR doesn't have this problem. Granted, he uses up your summon for a turn, and could leave you with no monsters on the field. Like I said, if he works for you, keep him in.

Well, off-hand, i'd sayt hat it means you're very preoccupied with your teeth and were very uncomfortable with getting fillings. This preoccupation carried over into your dreams. the dreams lead to further worrying which leads to further dreams, etcetera. You need to find a way to divert your attention from your teeth and fillings; that might break the cycle. I'm no psychiatrist, though, so my advie is strictly layman.

Although you couldn'tt ell it to talk to me, when push comes to shove, I have been told that I can act very mature. I can't tell, but, whatever. I suppose you could say I'm a mature guy with immature tastes. ^_^

Ah, Chappelle; I usually enjoy his show. It's ocassionally a bit to over-the-top for my tastes, but on the whole, I enjoy it muchly. ^__^ I particularly like the Samuel Jackson beer sketch. "Can you stop yelling?" "No! That's how I talk!"

I'm a Christian, but I don't really belong to a certain demonination. I'm baptized as a Luthrian, but I really don't enjoy the ideas of divisions within a religion. I'm of the opinion that we should focus on the common beliefs that bring us trogether, rather than ultimatly trivial differences that will only seperate us.

If the situation in the anime calls for nudity, it really doesn't bother me. Sure, there's fan service, which is a wee bit more gratoitous (SP), but that's usually limited in most anime. As long as it's tasteful, I don't really mind it.
