It's been my experience as a bartender that a lot of the younger men, between ages 21-30, sometimes go looking for trouble. They step into the bar and brace themselves with 'liquid courage' and become obnoxious and ,above all, insultive to those around them. Once they set their sights on a potential victim that's it. I've seen a lot of guys get the snot knocked out of them for retaliating, and neither knows the other. Here's an example. Last November, this guy from Toledo came to visit his cousin for the holidays. He came into the bar with his cousin for a few beers. Two locals, who had been there since happy hour, were playing pool. Local time was 10:20 pm. No sooner do the cousins sit down and order the locals started in on them. Calling one 'fat-boy' and the other '***'. I instructed them to knock off or go home. They laughed and went back to playing pool. However, the cousins were ticked and the visitor wanted an apology. Here we go, I thought. I told him his chances of getting that apology were slim, like absolute zero to zero. He wouldn't listen. But his cousin convinced him they should go drink somewhere else. Now the pool players couldn't shoot straight and kept knocking the cue onto the floor. As the cousins were leaving, the visitor made some offhand remarks on the way out the door. Well the fuse was lit and the powder just went off. Both locals bee-lined for the door as the cousins headed for their car, which was parked in front of an insurance office next door. Local time 10:35. Me? I was the only one on duty. My responsibilities were to the bar and to safeguard the register. I grabbed the phone and called the police. In the meantime, the cousins were beaten and bleeding on the sidewalk. The locals left. By the time I made it to the door it was over. The next day, my boss told me that last nights episode continued in another bar. The local boys had been busy. Three more guys got beaten up in two more bars. So my experience has taught me, you can't ingore a drunk nor should you turn your back on one whose aching for a fight. Because chances are that his buddies will appear from out of the woodwork and join in on kicking your butt.

Sorry guys. But if someone came too close to the '67 GTO. I'd freak too. But let's remember that it's ust an inanimate object. If it got hit while I was away, nothing to do but report and get it fixed. Should it be hit while I was present, I'd be mad, but it wouldn't be worth smacking someone around for. It will get fixed. As for the police. Forget 'em. I'll deal with my insurance, the're bad enough.

Did someone mention "Rocky Horror"? Forgot that one. Don't know how many times I've seen it, but the shows were a blast.

I've got some. Usually toss one in while I'm cooking. Ya get tired of commercials every 10 minutes, or the DJ keeps yapping while a song plays. Let's see.;) Resevoir Dogs - "Stuck In The Middle With You" Pulp Fiction The Big Chill Heavy Metal - "Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride)" High Infidelity Chef Aid: The South Park Album - Extreme Version Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back O Brother, Where Art Thou? City of Angels (wife) My Best Friend's Wedding (wife) Titanic (wife & daughter) Forrest Gump Jesus Christ Superstar Hair Grease (WIFE) - I leave the house on this one Woodstock - mine, mine, mine...don't touch!:demon: That's about half of what we've got. I like 'em. Toss one in the cd player and hit 'random'. So what if their commercialized and put out for the consumer. Sometimes you get one with a song that makes you say, "I haven't heard that one for quite a while.":therock:

:wigout:You guys make me feel old...and I'm not 40 yet. I've got at least 6 of his lps and have those in cd. I remember when a lot of these songs came out. :toothy: (sorry but my bd on my profile is inaccurate...it's 6/7/64) Got fix that soon. Took the wife to see him in concert at 'Pine Knob', Macy Gray opened for him. it was great. Unfortunately we got lightheaded from the second hand smoke, contact buzz:drunk: , but we had fun anyway. I think the biggest kick we got, and this included some of the "burn outs" sitting with us or old people, was when a group of teens walked by wearing retro 70 and 60 style clothes. Couldn't help it, we all broke down laughing. Then this gal spoke up, "I used to have an outfit like that." That remark brought tears to our eyes, her's too. Santana. What can I say. When I was a kid, we all wished we could play like him. Today, with all the practice, I still wish I could play like him. He's been around a long time and has a history. Then again so does Areosmith, The Rolling Stones, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. They've been around a long time and still going strong. Well maybe the Stones have slowed up a bit, now they're old.

Stitch, My condolences on your grandmother's passing. Feel for you on that one. It's not easy to deal with death of family member. My father passed away from lung cancer in '98. That same summer, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She's fine and doing well. Before the year was over my nephew was diagnosed with lukemia. He's taking every day one at a time. It's only a matter of time, and it hurts knowing that there is nothing to be done. In 2000, my eldest sister passed away from cancer to the pelvis. It's scary and everything seems hopeless, but strength can be found with the support of family. Doctors wanted my wife to go to a support group. She told them that her support was her family. As for me, I've had 2 bouts with cancer. First time, I was 2 months old, came out OK, except the loss of one eye. Second time, I was 12, chemo took care of that one. To cope is tough, but it can be achieved. Keep her in your memories and in your prayers. Have faith, she is happy in God's grace. Just remember that life is to be experienced. I'm sure your grandmother would want you to fulfill your dreams and have your own experiences to reflect upon in your golden years. I know it sounds lame, but it comes from my point of view. Take care, Stitch.;)

Loved the first season episodes. After that it got cunfusing. The storylines were better than ST:TNG, they weren't all touchy-feely, pats-on-the back. They set up for what was to come next. Too bad about the cancellation.

I like Bob Seger, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Sting (when he was with The Police), Talking Heads, and a whole lot of others. I liked hip-hop from the 70's and 80's. Not heavy in rap or country. This rock-a-billy gets on my nerves. There's older stuff like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Glenn Miller, and Nat King Cole. Yeah, yeah. He's how old? I mean it has to be something you like to listen to a great length. It's all a matter of personal taste. Enjoy.

Has anyone read any books from the Dragonlance Series?
rover64 replied to Rhys Mayiessen's topic in General Discussion
I've read the Dragonlance series. They're good. Even read the series about the twins. Afterwards, I read the Dark Elf trilogy, but it began to get on my nerves. I've read more novels based on Dragonlance. I like these novels better than Forgotten Realms. Must have read these books 3-4 times.
