1. I laugh at random things, which usually get's some of my friends thinking I'm on something dangerous and illegal. These things are mundane, everyday things that I randomly burst into fits of laughter over for no conceivable reason. Like this time I was watching a clothesline with a few shirts flapping about in the wind. My goodness, it was hilarious. I'll be damned if no-one else saw the funy side.
  2. I can see this playing out as one of those diversionbary skits on Family Guy. Ironic, the director of the Passion, a drunk, raving loon. Oh how the mighty hath fallen.
  3. Planet earth will be much the same as it is now, barring any "Day After Tomorrow" style global warming accelerations, the full effects of the greenhouse effect will not be seen for another 50 years at least. Sunrise, sunset, earth keeps spinning round and round. Humans will still be fretting over petty differences, and blowing each other up in the name of a god or two. There might be a progression away from such silliness, but I doubt we will see an end to it by 2039, remembering that man's violence to man stems back to when our ancestors clubbed each other over those juicy mammoth steaks. 2039: same shirt, different day.
  4.
Sure. Let's forget all the dying, starving people lodged in that war zone, all the crying, fresh new orphans, and all the people who can't get out. SURE! F**K HUMANITY and EVERYTHING THE UN STANDS FOR! WHY NOT?!
No, **** Hezbollah and all they stand for, if they weren't hiding amongst civilians, basing their headquarters in apartments buildings and whatnot, do you seriously think Beirut would be getting leveled right now?
Up for a good genocide, huh?
Read my spoiler tag, and ask yourself if you should be asking Hezbolah that same question.
  5.
some American citizens, some UN workers, suddenly you realize that Israel isn't so innocent anymore.
Ha! The UN workers should have known better than to bunker down in a part of Lebanon that Israel is blasting the **** out of, it's common sense, the UN convinces me once again that it lacks that attribute. I find it humorous and insanely grating at the same time, that the international community has been so swift to condemn Israel over this incident, when the response so far has been "go ahead, defend yourself." Why shopuld Israel tip-toe around some UN workers that put themselves in the middle of a bomb ravaged area on purpose, did it not register to them this kind of thing could happen, you know, in a war zone?
I've said it before, I'll say it again. If Hezbollah doesn't stand down here, Lebanon will no longer exist. Israel's had enough of the crap; they're going to be ending it.

Judging on the suicidal nature of Hezbollah and their ilk...
So long, Lebanon.
  6.
A total of 230 Lebanese have been killed so far and only 25 Israelis. I'm not saying that Israel is targetting civilians, though it might be. I'm just saying it is knowingly killing civilians. Its target is Hizbollah, but it knows civilians are in the region and bombs anyway without a single care. They give a "warning" for people to evacuate, but they bomb while people are evacuating and end up killing them. "Oh we tried our best" they think. Its because they don't give a damn about innocent Lebanese people.
Trouble is, if you give too much warning. those terrorists that are the target are allowed to escape as welll. Catch22; they wan't to take out Hezbollah, we will try to warn innocents, but we can't wait for both them AND our targets to escape.
People are only supporting Israel because they are racist against arabs. The idea that anyone can support Israel after how many innocents it has killed, after how many people it has tortured and punished unfairly, shows just how skewed people morality is. You still think we're all terrorists and we all want to kill you. Grow up and start thinking for yourselves, and stop parroting your power hungry leaders.
I can't speak for everyone who supprts Israel, but I'm not supporting Israel in this latest conflict because I'm racist against arabs, I'm supporting the Israeli's because they are taking on a millitia that wants nothing else but the destruction of Israel. I have a ton of love for moderate muslims, especially those of you that respect the rights of Israel to have a nation of their own. Besides, I'm from New Zealand, I have no power hungry leader to parrot, at least not one in a position to do anything about her power hunger. :p
Israel started this whole thing by jailing innocent people without charge and keeping them for months or a year at a time, and by their consistent lack of respect for the basic human rights of palestinians and other arabs they have hurt. Why do they deserve peace if they don't give us peace and justice?
There are other avenues to go down besides bombing Israel, which will only bring down another shitstorm of Israeli retaliation and rightfully so. There are groups out there such as Amnesty International that crusade for human rights and have a large international following. Get them in, plead your case, and get international pressure on Israel to let the innocents go free, I say. But for goodness sake, kidnappings? Rocket attacks? How do you expect the international community not to condone swift action to take out these threats?
Anyway, while I hope that no innocent Israelis are hurt, and while I am upset that Hizbollah's actions have brought so much destrution to Lebanon, I hope Hizbollah destroys Israel, gives them a taste of their own medicine. That'll teach Israel once and for all that it is not excused from the the rules of war. That'll teach them to stop collectively punishing our people for the terrorists they themselves have created from their constant oppression of our people. That'll teach them to destroy an entire country for their polical gain. An eye for an eye.
What a contradiction. You hope no innocent Israelis are hurt, yet you'd like to see Hezbollah destroy Israel? Tell me Chabi, how are Hezbollah going to destroy Israel and keep the innocents intact?
They only want Hizbollah out of Lebanon because it was Hizbollah that drove Israel out Lebanon. They want Hizbollah out so they can occupy southern Lebanon again.
Well, I don't know about that. In light of recent events, I'd be pretty surprised if Israel didn't occupy South Lebanon, at least for a time. Wether or not the Israelis conspired to have an occupying force in there for any other reason than to destroy Hezbollah, is up to interpretation, I guess.
  7.
As far as I can tell, it is only the civilians being 'flattened right now, while Hezbollah countinues to fire rockets into Israeli towns. Israel isn't really accomplishing anything. It isn't stopping the attacks from Hezbollah, and instead is killing innocents with their disporportionate attacks.
Israel is not being disproportionate, it is defending itself from the likes of Hezbollah, who have been intentionally inflaming the situation by kidnapping more soldiers and firing rockets into Israeli cities from the border of Lebanon. Now at first, I wondered why in the hell they'd bomb Lebanon, but the answer is clear. They're bombing Hezbollah and attempting to weed out this group, who want nothing less than the destruction of the Israeli state, once and or all. Simply put, Hezbollah brought the shitstorm down on itself, and can't just cry foul about it now. If they have bought about their destruction, see if I could care less. Civilians getting caught in the crossfire is an unfortunate thing, but lets remember; Like the current situation in Iraq this is no conventional war-time army Israel is facing, it is a group of terrorists that owe to no millitary uniform of code of cinduct, and who can easily bleed in with such civillians, to dissapear from the sights of the Israeli forces, and maybe prepare another rocket strike in the near future. With lines as blurred as that, you are bound to get casualties amongst the civillian population. Show me, however, that Israel is intentionally targetting civillians rather than terrorists and I will show you a green dog.
  8. Easy. I'd have the house full of Zombies, bats and rats, thankyou. Why? Well, compared with the alternative of having the entire world infested with zombies and little chance of surviving without becoming one myself, a house full of them, complete with bats and rats isn't that bad. And besides, if I get sick of my new room mates always trying to eat my brains every night. I can lace the house full of TNT, slip away, and blow all their ***** to kingdom come! Now, would you rather..... Have Barbara Striesand, Celine Dion, Bette Midler and some high-pitched squealer reject from american Idol come together to sing at the most important event of your life, or would you rather be deafened for the rest of your natural life and any other spiritual life hereafter?
  9. I'd say that his resemblance to Reeve is the reason Routh got the job. Heck, I'm just looking at their last names and realising they both have the same amount of letters and start with "R"! At the end of the day, Bryan Singer wanted to do a movie that was a loose sequel to the first two movies (wisely disregarding 3 and 4) so having Brandon Routh look like Christopher Reeve, and Kevin Spacey look like Gene Hackman, wasn't purely coincidental. The movie had a great feel about it from the moment the opening credits rolled in similar fashion to the first two movies. Awesome special effects peppered the movie and at times it was hard to distinguish between Routh and a pixellated representation of him. Though, for a movie that is supposed to sequelise the first two movies, I wans a little dissapointed in the fact that
Clark Kent reveals to Lois in Superman 2 that he is the mant of steel himself, yet in "Returns" She has either conveniently ignored this or it has been forgotten completely. Her reactions to the return of Kent and Superman are starkly contrasted, this made for a good sequence in these scenes, but was still, at the same time, annoying.
Kevin Spacey does an excellent job as Lex Luthor, the chopice to cast him was definately a good idea. He gets right into the skin of the Luthor than Gene bought us in the originals, and delivers such a comparitave performance, that I could have sworn that it was actually Hackman in the role at times, it was uncanny indeed. The special effects are just wonderful, and the thrilling climax of the movie is alone worth shelling out for tickets. Bryan Singer has done Superman proud in the face of high skepticism and doubts he could pull this one off.
  10. I can't say I'm unhappy with my lot in life. Sure, there may be somethings I'd like to have, but I'm just as happy without them. In terms of love? Well, I'm single and optimistic right now. I don't absolutely NEED a girlfriend, though I can safely say that I'd like to have one. :p Until such time, I'm not going ot get all cut up about it.
  11.
While I totally agree with you, I must acknowledge that it is alot more complicated than that. If Israeli's were detaining women and children without any justifiable reason, I don't really blame for the Palestinians for retaliating. By killing two Israeli soldiers and kidnapping one, it would be hard for the Israeli's to just sit back. And I don't think that they would negotiate with "terrorists" either, at least most military doesn't (maybe just depends on the circumstances). One can only hope is that perhaps Israel would comply and at least let out the innocent people they are detaining *COUGHguantanamoCOUGH* and that no one else needs to be killed.
Where does the buck stop then? If the Palestinians reason for kidnapping and possibly killing this soldier is revenge for Israeli's imprisioning women and children, what stops Israel from retalliating and claiming a mandate for it as retalliation for the kidnappings? Surely then, for that revenge, the Palestinians are going to have to take revenge for that! It's ridiculous and unsolvable. I agree totally with the Lightbulb on this one. And who determined their innocence, was it because they are women and children? Because they couldn't possibly carry a gun or a bomb and kill someone, could they? Sorry to rain on your parade, but the whole women and children thing, it just seems like a ploy to get international sypathy through the eyes of the seemingly innocent. It's re-treaded in every facet of society, from this conflict to television standards campaigners crying "won't someone please think of the children!!1!1!" Besides, Palestinian millitants aren't exactly saints when it comes to avoiding maiming womend and children in their bus-bomb bloodbaths, and we're only talking incarceration here on the Israeli's side, and I don't necessarily believe that all the women and children captured are innocents. Like Boba Fett said earlier, it makes no sense for the Israeli government to lock up innocents when it costs their government to do so, and it's totally pointless. Palestinians need to get over this whole "Zionist conspiracy" to take them out and over-run their land. For goodness sake, they just gave you the Gaza Strip back! Israelis just need to, yeah, they need to get over having a state of their own, and just accept getting wiped off the map. Yeah, that'll settle those pesky bomber's bloodlust. :smirk: [COUGH]Guantanamo bay detainees were captured during battle with the taliban regime, and are not all innocents caught up by great satan uncle sam's drift net of inustice![/COUGH]
  12. So, what exactly is the problem? I can try to help if you will be a bit clearer on what it is you neep help with. And no, I won't email it, you get your answer from me here. I'm too much of a lazyass to bother logging into ym email for 1 message. :p
  13.
It's a sick sad world we all live in heero, alot of men are actually like that, you know "womanizers" (I have no idea if that's politically correct),
I wouldn't worry too much about giving a politically correct name to P.C amorals. And don't worry. There are more guys in this world who like to treat girls right and want nothing more than to settle down with that someone special, than there are jerks and womanisers who treat their girls like disposable commodities. 14. Name: Final Flash [Profile] Last seen: 4th November 2004 Why? Flash was a fellow New Zealand OtakuBoards user, and there aren't many of us around, if any at all right now. Flash also had an approachable personality and was a very skilled RPer. He was the first person on the staff at the time that I actually got to know. Beign from the same city helped that out alot.. I coudl talk about what happened down at Hoyts 8 or Northlands and have somebody here understand what the jack I meant. I miss that. I was happy when he returned in 2004, but that was brief, too brief. Honourable mention goes to tohe one, the only master of.... master of forks, yes... masterfork! [here] who should really think about returning. Those babies aren't going to scare themselves! Who doesn't want to see masterfork again? "IT TO SCARE BABIES!" Rock on! :animesmil Yes, his profile says he logged on this year, but he hasn't posted since 2003.
  15. I began my time here as SaiyanGohan2002, I was a horrible n00b who made terrible flame smiley riddled posts and used a vomitious green text all the time. Then I became Nuchlear, which was mis-spelt on purpose so that I could have a simpler hotmail address and worked here on the OB as well. After that, I named my account SunRiZe which made use of the new admin name changes instead of being a new account all together. It was a disastrous name change which ended up being totally n00bish because I wanted to vary the caps lettering in my name. Not a good look. After that travesty of name changing, I re-named to Shinji Ikari, I added Ikari to my preferred name to distance myself from the infamous 'Shinji' of v2 fame. (I wonder sometimes if he is still here, posting under a new name and all.) After I had established that I wasn't the Shinji of old, I became Shinji, perhaps the name I'm best known around here for, my longest name phase to date. About 2 years pass, and I grow tired of Shinji, so I rename to Zenju, which was supposed to jus be a re-wording of the Shinji name, but was so differently spelled out it felt like the name of an Oranje juice company. I then went on to become Evil Jedi for a time before finally reverting back to Shinji for recognitions sake. Then at the beginning of this year, I decided to make new beginnings and became Rapture Ruckus, a name that tied in my faith and beleifs practice in with my forum name in a much cooler way that my original idea of JeS-us_fR*eeAk_3811209O_o; would have.
that last part is a joke. :p
Over that time I guess my posting has improved and my personality has changed. I don't put that down to my name changes as much as I put it down to time, maturing, and in general, getting to know how this place works, and what makes it tick. In fact, I'd venture to say that name changes are a symptom of time and maturing here as opposed to being the catalyst for it. Evidence for that can be seen in what the names are changed to. From someting consisting of some underscores, mis-spellings and numbers at the end of the name to something that is crisp, clear and to the point. Wow, that's a total of 8 names. I need a freakin life man!
  16. I'm a Christian, and I have been since birth. I'm active in my faith and regularly attend church services, youth events, and that sort of thing. I'm quite evangelical, which means I like to share my faith with others, and at least try to convince them to give God a go, while not ramming the truth down peoples throats, like I know some Jehovah's can do when they come a-knocking. I currently affiliate with a New Zealand Baptist Church, although I don't hold denominations and such in great significance.
  17.
So...I suppose I don't have a religion, but a relationship.
I am a Christian, and like you, I have more of a relationship with God than a religion in particular. I attend a church that promotes relationship over religion and rules, (like Jesus himself did when speaking about Pharisees) Worships to God in rock music, has a different angle and teching each night, and is the most alive, non-boring church. I was bored to tears with church until I changed my angle and attended a different, youth-oriented congregation.
Like I said many times, it's not the followers of Christianity that irk me, it's Christianity itself. Christianity was a religion largely built for the purpose of slandering other religions that existed around the time of Constantine. Ever wonder why the Dead Sea Scrolls (Pre-Constantine) are so completely different from the commonly accepted bible (Post-Constantine)? It's because they were heavily edited so that Constantine could control the population. In order to NOT write a novel on the subject, I'll simply state that, in my opinion, Christians believe in propogandga that some ancient Roman ruler used as political leverage.
The dead sea scrolls, as far as I'm aware, are scrolls of the book of Isaiah that mirror, word-for-word, the modern Bible. In fact, I've heard teachings that use them to convey the message that the Bible has not been altered one bit since 90BC.
  18. Having a bit of time on my hands today since I couldn't get onto NewGrounds, I decided to have a go at remaking one of my old wallpapers, done a few years back, with the photoshopping skills I have today. I was quite happy with the markable improvement. It is indeed much closer to what I had in mind to do with the original Destiny Globe, but was limited graphically in what I could do. Here's the original Destiny Globe, done around 2002 for the Otaku's Digmon section... And here's Globe 2006, the remake with Dragonball Z characters instead of the Digimon ones, an dmore advanced loghting and shading on the globe, to make it more, uh, globey. :p So, what do you think, any improvements I could make?
  19. I just got back from seeing Date Movie, and yes, it is a pretty funny flick. There were a number of predictable gags, however. I guess because this movie is very similar to the Scary Movie franchise. Not surprising since two of the Scary Movie writers co-wrote this movie. My favourite part of thois movie was either the Meet the Parents/Fockers send-up, or the totally unexpected appearance of
King Kong and the island inhabitands at the end. The Napoleon Dynamite part towards the beginning of the movie was pretty good too, though, not really classic in its own right.

    V for Vendetta

I've seen a trailer for V Vendetta, and I'm very interested in seeign this movie when it makes it's New Zealand run. The allusions to Orwell's 1984, and the plot of Big-Brother style governments are enough alone to make me want to check this film out.
  21. My favourite car is the 1992 Nissan Skyline GT-R, As soon as I get my licence this year that car is on my to get list, and I am saving up for it as I type. I would make do with any variation of the Skyline family though. I like their shape and the distinctive tail-lights.
