1. Alright, here goes. The machines and mankind had fought a bitter war, man and it's creation. This violent and long-lasting war culminated in two cataclysmic events: The scorching of the sky and the enslavement of mankind into an energy sourcing program called The Matrix. The Matrix on a subconscious level was made to resemble past-day earth, and keep the humans in check, and submission. Therein lay a deeper level to the machines thinking. Give the humans hope for a better future. and so, it was done. the Machines created a system by which the humans could have hope, in the form of being freed by an entity simpyl titled "The One" And for a while... It was good...... Machine created smith, in it's own image. Smith was an agent of the system, created to chase down renegade programs and virtuous hackers. Smith was one of the machines top programs, unfortunately, Smith failed. The One had violated his being, and the two of them had exchanged certain abilities and strengths. Smith had now become a renegade agent. The machines had not claculated this into their plans, and ultimately their Matrix came crumbling down around them. The machines, in a desperate bid to retain their power, brokered a deal with The One and mankind, a lasting truce was formed in Machine city, with the One successfuly brokering a deal allowing all people to be enlightened tot he truth, and those willing to stay in the Matrix could. And for a time, it was good. Nothing lasts forever, as the machines were about to find out. A culture of the smith program, that had been kept for archival purposes, had been leaked into the hands of Zionist hackers, who's only though was complete destruction of the mechanical lie that was the matrix. They released the Smith program back into the mainframe, much to the dismay of the machines. There was no neo to save the day. The One had fulfilled it's purpose and hadn't been continued so. With time running out, the Machines turned to both human fighters and Agents of the system, to come together as one and eliminate Smith once and for all. How does that sound?
2. Definately not. I have a strong moral code because that's what I believe is the key to true happiness. I won't compromise that for anything, even zillions of dollars. There are some things money can't buy, like a clear conscience. I look at when Jesus was led into the wilderness after his baptism, and how Satan was tempting him with food, security, and immense wealth. The onyl catch was that jesus would have to worship Satan. I pray that I would just be like Jesus in similar situations, and not compromise my beliefs and moral code for something so short-term.
3. The way you have used the cells is refreshing, and the way the blood-stained blades and the text are situated make the banner quite a nice piece of artwork. Well done.
4.
I don't think you should have The One appear at any point, as this would limit other characters as to what they can do, and also he/she would be the most awesome power in the universe, so it would make the entire thing seem a bit pointless.
I agree. The basic plot of M:A is moving more away from the One, who's character comes into fulfilment in Revolutions, and there really is no point for the machines in continuing the lineages of "Neo's" I liked all the ideas that you had for this RPG, like Smith being kept by the machines in backup form. At first I thought about why they would keep something like Smith around, if there was the slightest chance he would one day be downloaded back into the mainframe of the Matrix. That can actually be used as a mirror to real life, where laboratories keep smallpox under lock and key, for goodness knows what reason, even if there is a risk of the disease gettign out somehow once again, perhaps a rebel Zion militia could seek to release Smith?
5. I like the 3rd and 4th ones the best. I like the way that you've place Sakura, most of all in the 4th version. I don't like the top 2 however, they just don't seem to jump out at me the way the other two do, with more than just the flowers in the focus.

I like the current X Box interface better. The reason being that I like the color scheme better, the green and black is a much better choice over a much over-done-by-windows blue, and add a plus to that, It works well with XBox's current logo.
7. FireFox has an option in it's right-click menu for blocking images from certain sites. Good for blocking those adservers. I usually don't bother with doing that unless it's a very annoying banner, like those ones that use a strobe light effect. I can't see how any advertiser sees that as effective, lol. Did they do any reasearch into what ticks people off? :p
8. The End of a saga is only the beginning of another. It has been 12 years since Neo, being the One, formed a truce with the machines for a lasting peace between man and machine. Nothing lasts forever, as the machines were about to find out..... Well, this is a remake of one of my old RPG's (see original here) which was set after Revolutions, before I saw that movie, and as such, the plot is redundant. This thread is designed to discuss possible plot developments that could occur after revolutions, how a new conflict could arise, and the feasability of Smith survivng (by downloading a copy of himself into a freed mind again?) and what his role woudl be now, in a post-neo world when his adversary is gone, and how he would cope witht that. Oh yeah, and if you'd like to fulfil a position in the RPG, feel free to discuss your potential role here. I'm open to suggestions on anythign plot-wise etc, it'sd be nice to produce an RPG sucess for a change, lol.

10. Some of my favorite cover songs include.... Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics/Marilyn Manson No -brainer for me, I quite liked the original version, and Manson's cover kicked ***. A heavy rock version of this song really works well. Word Up - Cameo/Korn Korn did such an excellent job coverign this song. i can't even bear lsitening to the original as the vocals make my brain explode, which is funny since I lonyl like cover songs when I liked hte original. Every breath you take - The Police/Millencolin I like Millencolin's fast punk version of this song. Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams/Bowling for Soup Bryan adams version of this song is really good, and it's one of my all time favorites from the 80's. Bowling for Soup's version is a way cool, heavier version. Findign that song on WinMX got me into the band, and I have since bought the album. Auld Lang Syne - Folk song/Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (MFATGG) Excellent cover of the patron new years song. The version I plan to shock my older rellies with at the stroke of midnight, new years 2006, lol. Tainted Love - Soft Cell/MFATGG/Marilyn Manson I liked Manson's version of this classic the best. The video clip is downright hilarious too.
11. The first movie I saw in the theatres was the disney rendition of Beauty and the Beast. I remember it was in this dinky little theatre down near Sumner, funnily enough, that theatre is still there, putting up it's good fight against all the multiplexes that have sprung up lately. lol. I can remember going in, watching the movie, and thinking that by the time I got outside, it would be dark. I guess that's because I was sitting for what seemed like forever in a darkly lit room. (well, an hour and a half was eternity for a kid of my age, heh)
12. I liked the old meber titles, and the idea that your post title would change over time depending on your post count, was quite cool. I do miss posting to obtain a new title, and that doesn't mean spamming for it. mind you, I just liked the personal challenge of reaching a higher level, to see what the next title would be, if that makes sense. This is sense of achievement is something that the custom titles will not accomplsih for me. I do see the reason behind the decision to scrap them, and it is a non-issue really. Doesn't mean that i don't miss them.
13. The only thing that I would change about myself is my wieght issue, I'd lose quite a few pounds, and, in fact, I have mopst recently started a new diet and excercise regime. But this is purely health related as opposed to cosmetic. I have been blessed by having such amazing friends that make mne feel comfortable with the way I am. My only concern about my weight issue is based on healt because my family has a history of heart disease and high cholestrol.
14. Good on him for finding a belief in God. You know, I tend to see it as a re-affirmation of truth when soemone leaves the fame and everything that went with their old life to go and follow God. I mean, they must have a damn good reason for following a different path, I surely wouldn't have left my old life on a whim, to go out there and get ridiculed every day. There are plenty of good Christian rock bands out there that sound nothign like Creed, btw. Check out Day of Fire, and I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. (especially thsoe who like Drowning Pool)
15. Yes, but was it an Exorcist rip-off or a tribute? I think, more than exorcist rip-oof, this was more a payign homage type scene. Being a rip-off, the demon would have had more in common witht hte demon in the exorcist film, i would have thought. The rest of the movie wasn't that bad, I like the way they transitioned to, and prtrayed hell. Hell as some kind of eternal nuclear explosion is a great way to portray it. Heaven on the other hand, was just done as every other heaven scene, basically. It was a gate on clouds. Whee!
Having Gabriel as the villain did not make sense. This, after all, is the angel who bought the news of Jesus' to Mary and the sheperds. I also didn't like the diea to kill Chaz off, there was enough in this character to keep himn going for at least 1 sequel, I thought.

16. Dumbest Reailty Show Ever? That would definately be Extreme Makeover. period. All the show is about is taking some shallow-minded person who's just taken their obsession with their large nose a bit too far, showed them cryign in, oh, the intesne agony of maybe having a wart or a few buck teeh, do them over, and hten show them crying over how they've turned into the swan, please, this is the worst idea ever. It'd be better if they gave this treatment to those who truly need it, say, a serious burns victim or soemone with a deformity that actually restricts them and their living life to the full. Home Edition is the better version of this show, where they do actually make-over someone's house who really needs it. And it can be a very uplifitng show portraying the goodness of the human spirit. *glurges*
17. Nothing wrong with that at all. I have a make-beleive nation inside my head, complete with it's own superstars and ideal president. It's just the way I'd imagine my country, should I be God for a day and create one, would turn out. Whoops! Did I just let the little peoples outsuide my head? :whoops:
18. I'm not a part of any other anime site. I came to this one when it was in Version 4, a few years back, when Dragonball Z was a major thing-2-watch for myself. I hung around the Dragonball section of the site for a while, but lost interest in Dragonball eventually. Now we're in version 7, Dragonball forum is closed, and I just hang aorund here for general chit-chat in the Otaku Lounge, discuss the latest movies or bands, and maybe engage in a few RPG's. oh, and there's my [strike] ranting post[/strike] MyOtaku Too. ^_^;
19.
What is the cause of religious conflict? Why is there Jihad in the world? Why were there some seven Crusades (and a children's Crusade)? It's because every religion in the world today is an Expanded Universe religion. Think Star Wars. You have the Original Trilogy, the TRUE Star Wars, then you have various side-stories (novels, games, boardgames, etc). The side-stories are the Expanded Universe. They're the material that branched off of the real Star Wars.
I Spent about an hour trying to build a feasable rebuttal to the expanded univserse God theory, but I could only come back full-cricle, in the sense that everything I wrote came to agreeance witht that theory. You have God, and, if you beleive like I do, then he has isntictively placed his law into everything and everyone created. It's like a binding glue law that holds the universe together. Then you get people, people who have not heard the ture God's calling, and all they have is that heart-wirtten law, and with that, they create their God. It's the most reaosnable answer to global religous conflict yet. Especially when you know that every side strongly believes their God is the correct form of God. I strongly, for example, believe the God of christianity, reason being is that no other God worshipped today has sent his own son to die for the sins fo mankind. Other religions preach different ideas and doctrine, but I'm firm and fatihful in my orignal belief. To me, this iteration of God is the one the others branched off from! I have faith that the events, and my salvation, as described in the Bible, will happen. (and are, if you look at scripture, starting to happen today) If anyones's going to sucessfuly compare world religions to Star Wars, it'd be you, Alex. ^_~
the problem with religeon is that you can't question what they say openly. because then you are deemed a "faschist" or any number of derogatory terms.
Are you kidding? Do you really believe that you can't spread your falsehoods without being labeled as a fascist? Have you ever tried being of a faith? We tend to spread the good news of our faith among the people we're around, and we're labeled as bigots, Jesus freaks, and a number of derogatory terms. In fact, in some countries, Christians are not allowed to spread their faith, lest they die. Christians are not likely to stone you for promoting an atheist view (well, at least not the rational ones) Look at my answer to Alex's post, am I labelling him a fascist because he is bringing out a more radical approach to God than I'm comfortable with? no, I'm exploring the idea and the feasability of it. I'm accepting of all opinions and ideas, wether I ultimately agree with them or not. This is hardly the protrayal of Christian that you throw out there, is it?
20.
All religions are the same. That is: they're all elitist, discriminatory cliques run by crazy, sexist, homophobic, racist old guys who love to claim that it is only through [paying, worshiping, and waiting on] them that any one might achieve a half decent afterlife. Unfortunately, people believe them.
That is the single most ignorant, stupid and baseless comment I've ever seen! Let me clarify by using my church as an example, it is run by a God-fearing pastor who claims that it is only though Jesus and his sacrifice that people are saved. Stark contrast to your example, and the thithe (money)? Completely optional! This is an example of many churches in my area, that engage in regular activities and hold youth congregations (run by youth, not soem 80+ pervert) full of vibrancy and free worship before our God. That comment was hurtful, just because it's infactual and wrong. Want to deny God? that's your right, but please, spare the "pervert priest, all-about-the-money" rheotric. Unofrtunately, most people believe you. My opinion on original sin: I do not believe in it, and never have. It is one of the reasons (as well as Marian worship) that I left the Catholic Church. Yes, people do sin and fall short of the glory of God, but this does not mean that a child is born with sin, God isn't going to let a baby who died of cot deaht go to hell, and those who have not heard the gospel will get their chance at the white-throne resurrection. God is a fair and just God, he will not roast soemone because a missionary never reached them. The second resurrection is recorded in Revelation, it's a part of the salvation plan that is omitted by most mainstream denominations.
21. I like the second and fourth variations. Second, because you've superimposed another, white strip of film over the black film. This gives the piece a little more depth. The fourth is very well done, from font choice to making the word "bleed" a bloody red, which adds a little vibrancy into an otherwise grayscale piece.
22. Just relocating my post to the PS2 Section, I placed it in the Gamecube votes because I misread the post itself... Best Action Game >Grand Theft Auto: III I know it wasn't on the list, but I can't help but vote for it... I was going to go with Vice City, or SanAndreas, but the reason I went with III is simple, I liked the missions, the radio, city layout and overall atmospere the best of the 3, not to mention the fact that this game brought GTA from it's old top-down days into glorious 3D, and, while the graphics bugged out on occasion, GTAIII had many other elements that made it a winner, missions and mob bosses were varied, and the peds would say some of the most funny and random things, such as blurting out Village People lyrics while walking the street. It's randomness was also a factor. Best Strategy Game Worms 3D While I may have traded it in since, Worms 3D is my pick for strategy game of the years. The multiplayer mode is great, controls aren't too clunky, and the humor of a war of the worms can't be beat! I did preferr the original 2D Worms to the 3D version, where there was too much water resulting in nearly every death being a water one, I miss the random death-by going off-screen thing, too. Best RPG Final Fantasy X The first RPG I've played, save for Final Fantasy VII Which is out of the years stipulated for these awards. FF10 was an incredible RPG, I'm nominating it for it's superb graphics, FMV sequences and story, The msot interesting element for me was that story, and how everything that is set up at the beginning of the RPG is turned on it's head and leaves you following another patht to the truth. Way Cool. Best driving Game Burnout 2 I only played crash mode at a party once, but it was enough for me to nominate it, burnout 2's crash mode, where you score points for crashing in more spectacular ways, was a heap of fun to play.
23. I disagree entirley with those fantatics out there who blame video games for every one of society's ills, it doesn't matter that millions of sane adults can play a mature game without going out and re-enacting the pixelated violence, all they care about is ther one person out of that million who can't distinguish reality, and they should be locked up anyway. This si why I don't condone state-enforced bans like the ban on Manhunt over here in New Zealand, I believe that once you reach a certain age of maturity, you should be able to choose how to entertain yourself and what with. Having said that, I totally agree with age-enforced censirship, and, while it may not be the greatest meter of maturity, it's the best thing we've got currently.
24. I've consfues many different OB'ers with the incorrect gender, and I always though you were a guy, Chabi, my bad. I also though that Dagger was a guy, and I'm pretty sure my pre-cognition as to what Azure is is incorrect too, lol. I don't see it as a big deal, I find it quite funny and challenging to find out an OBer's correct gender, and then try to re-envision them as a guy/girl when you've always thought of them as the opposite.
25. I generally disliked our school group projects, While most of them were relatively easy and I had a lot of fun doin them (much better than just writinng note afte rnote in a book :animeswea), for alot of them, I was partnered with a whino who would complain and moan about the project, turning even the msot basic tasks into a big ordeal. Seriously, actually doing the damn project would take less effort than their moanign and groaning, lol. The best example of the whino comes from my Broadcasting class, producing a half-hour radio show became impossible because the guy I got partnered with thought a clash of style irreconcilable and walked off the assignment. I ended up hosting the show msyelf, and when the other shows all had partners, performing a great show, mine paled in comparison. What really annoyed me about that incident was the fact that I would have made compromises in the way I wanted the show to be, to keep things running smoothly, but he never engaged in any sort of creative process with me at all.
