I live in the good ole New - Zea of Land! (uh, sucky pun) Christchurch, New Zealand, in fact. One of the most beautiful towns in the world! I like living here, I once thought living in New York would be so much better, however, given my recent burst of Cantabrian pride, and the fact that some pretty nasty stuff is happening abroad. I'm very happy to call Christchurch home, awlays have, and always will. We have it so good here.

CrH's poem, is aimed at SixthCrusifix. ha :) Time for a poem of my own It's been a while since I saw. Half Saiya-Jins, half cactus, populat'in this board. Once was in gaming yeah, that's where he reigned. But now he has gone, oh my, how things have changed. Like the Lorax, who one lived in his 'ol home. 'til the onceler came and took away his abode. 'dem Cactuars slipped away without even a word. and all down in O-Ville, no more of dem was heard. -----///----- Preety obvious to the oldies, I would assume.

I'm listening to the dbut album, Love and disrespect right now, after finally purchasing it, it's really good, as in, I didn't know how good it was going to be until I got it. Such songs as Nirvana, The Benjamins, Claim to Fame and Weed Out. All very good songs. The album art is really cool too. It's cupid with a machine gun instead of the usual arrow. The band name is placed in a way resembling scrabble letters. Very original, good use of the band name. I'm thinking of featuring an mp3 or two from Elemeno P on my MyOtaku music player. I don't want people thinking piracy though. I would just like to get this band the exposure they deserve. I have a limited edition in which thye do a hip hop version of Verona with another NZ band, rap group Deceptikonz. Their hit, stop Drop and Roll is a good track to listen to.

1st Banner I like this one a lot, as you will find out if you stick around long enough, I am a sucker for blue duo tone work, it's my favorite color scheme. You could have dropped down the "Pagas" word, added a border and raised "2003" a little bit. Might add a bit of order. Banner 2 Quite nice, I love the duo tone effect and the picture really suits. Good choice of font and all as well. Banner 3 Quite nice, I like how Yuna is off center in this piece as it give it a sorta original feel. More often than not, the main subject is dead center of the picture, and this just adds i dunno, your mark, for a lack of better words. Only thing I can think of for improvement on banner 3 is the placing of the text. It ruins the half banner, another original idea, and makes it look messy. Try and nudge the text up so that it's not overlapping the border. this would make the banner more aesthetic and pleasant to look at. All in all, I think your banners have a lot of potential, they are already very pleasing to the eye, you'd be surprised however, to discover how far a couple of minor tweaks can go.

I have a strong feeling that PoisonTongue's poem is directed at, non other than the King of Bitchiness, Kevin (a.k.a Rick Hunter; Hikaru Hich-ah,whatever that other blasted name is.) I will now back up my claims with the hard hitting evidence. Some of the poems is here in italics, the missing parts are the ones I could nto accurately reference with anything to back my theory up. Your post count?s over one G Kevin's posts were over one grand. And you still aren?t writing stories like me. I make and break words in my sleep, And you still sit there and cry Like the bitchy Bo Peep. PoisonTongue, bringing Kevin's "script" into disrepute. did he answer back with a resounding rebuttal that would make anyone think "ah, so he did get picked up by Miramax" no! He bitches and moans, makes some silly little cartoon I never watched. Oh yeah, he also only wanted to continue his "war" with PT at his board, where he could ban. You?re nothing but a newbie, Yeah that?s what I said. You write one shit story and it goes to your head. I think of this as another reference to Kevin's "script" You talk to my friends, call me a sniveling peon, But you?ve been running from me for an eon. Who you callin a coward? Who you callin a brat? Why?d your panties get twisted like that? You?re withdrawing to your safe pussy bubble, Tryin to get away from it all, Tryin to get away from this trouble. Well fella, ya yella bella, Here comes the smackdown. More references to Kevin fleeing to his own boards, his silly cartoon, and the "petition" to be re instated. That's my theory PT, don't shoot me down if it ain't correct. this is just what it reminds me of. I'm about 90% certain this poem "OB Banned" is to do with Kevin. Either that, or it's Bloodsin.

New problem in MyOtaku Something is causing my new Big Fish post to merge with the previous posts of mine, thinking this was because MyOtaku was recognizing it as the same day I posted the previous post, I deleted that one, this is where it gets really weird. I deleted all my posts in an attempt to fix it up, but the Big Fish post has now merged with the bottom of the page, the title and the comments appear as normal. yet the Big Fish post is outside of it. What in the hell is going on here? This is the code I'm using for my table, no different to when it was working fine, except for the image. If you can't understand what I mean, head over to my MyOtaku. I will keep the post up until I figure out what's wrong. Nothing more frustrating than losing all your posts in vain.
Originally posted by PoisonTongue Haha, actually, AzureWolf, the Xbox font doesn't let me have apostrophes, quotation marks, etc. I had to improvise. ;)
I actually have an X Box font that has question marks and apostrophes, perhaps you just have an early beta version, anyhow, the font reminds me of the Spider-man font. I like it's style. I like how the green text seems to be set in more than one dimension, the "X Box" sits behind the "hater phrase" quite well. gives depth. I feel i could have had more, say, an X box faded in the background, so you could hardly see it but knew it was there, somebody already mentioned that. :toothy:

1st banner: I think that it looks just fine the way it is. Perhaps you could add a shadowy character over the other side of the banner, darken the text slightly, so that it stands out a little more whilst still being blended into the background. 2nd banner: Awww! Kawaii ~_^ Eh, yes, that banner is sure a lot more brighter than the other one *is blinded* Not that it is a bad thing, btw. Remember, if it were to be an official banner for myotaku, it would have to have that Century Gothic font, I think, at least that's the general thing on OB.

This post is all about the effects and sets used in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Peter Jackson and his crew deserve an Oscar for their movie, more importantly, they deserve the Oscar for effects and makeup. The sheer intricacy of every minute detail has to be taken into account. the actor were wearing authentic middle earth gear which the camera's would never see. Every small scratch and detail was molded onto the battle costumes and attention to detail paid to even the furthest Orc from the camera. The way they did the castle of Gondor scenes, the battle for Gondor, Smeagol, the dragon thingy's (don't mob me Tolkien-Maniacs) Sauron's eye. These are a few of my fav... oh wait... what I meant to say was that these are some of the best CG works I have ever seen. Smeagol was perhaps one of the most detailed and tricky characters of the whole series. Far outdoing the walking trees (once again, Tolkien-Maniacs, I'm sorry >

Yeah, it's not hard, but it would be more convenient if we had the option of posting it into our profiles and having all our posts encoded the same way. I'm not sure how applicable that is though, any change like that wouldn't happen until Version 7 anyway.

Art Movie: Super Otaku Brothers (Rated PG-13)
TheShinje replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
Yet another piece of comical genius from the Dragon Warrior. The Bert and ernie part was... plain disturbing. :nervous: Nice Family Guy touch there. *also noticed DW's uncanny resemblance to the James in the James who stole Chrismas* I though you were a Mage!
Shinji should be there too, and, of course, you didn't read this, and of course, you didn't recieve that 1 bajillion dollar bribe.
-
2:14 PM New Zealand Time. Jan 1st. 2004. Happy New year to Otakuboards. I've just stayed up and had a massive party that included everything from X Box to Auld Lang Syne, it was perhaps one of the better new years I have experienced since the ole y2k. oh yeah, and Charles changed my name, a little. :D that's my wild night, which brings me to the question, What did everyone else get up to in their new year? And i've been thinking as of late, what has become of New years eve? apart from the usual gang of drunkard lunatics, are they getting smaller where you live? It seems since the dawn of the Millennium encaptured New Zealand 3 years ago, that there has been a steady decline of people who actually think New Years is important, or a time to party. Shall all acquaintance be forgot and never bought to mind.............

A new signature image for me and the re-launch of the Otaku Attitude. Made simply because my old image host has crapped out, and I've lost my Rage banner. You may ask yourself... do you feel lucky? or you could instead ask what do Bosko, Bender and Gohan have in common? The answer? They're all cartoons. a melting pot of animation to see in the new year. Happy new year!

I've been here since v4, and I have always looked forward to new versions/skins and whatnot. Sometimes, I like to be nostalgic and pour over all the old threads that I've participated in, just to see what kind of wording I used, and what the format of my posts were. I ten to think more about today and tomorrow more than back in the day.

Deliverance and Godly Gifts(Rated C for Christian)
TheShinje replied to Heartless Me's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Heartless Me I had stopped going to church for reasons i'm not quite so sure of. But today when I was at church I was swept away into the worship and the warmth and felt God enter my body and start to work through me, it was the most amazing thing i've ever felt in my life. Much love and God bless Randy
So true. It is an amazing feeling. You just reminded me of when I became a Christian. I myslef am a Baptist Christian, but I bleieve in strong workings of the Holy Spirit also, and when God touched my life, I remeber, estercamp 2002, All I could do was weep for all the sins I had comitted, the Holy Spirit was convicting me and I felt so much better for it. bearing that in mind, I'm really happy that you found God again, and had that tremendous experience, i hope that in the latter part of this year and beyon that God really blesses you and enriches you for the choice you have made on that day to follow him. My prayers are with you as you take on this journey. -Shinji. -
I'd certainly like to be able to change my thread's title, for example, if I typed teh instead of the. I don't see anything wrong with it, it's not like any same person would type up a thread titled, for example, Intllegent Dragonball discussion, and then use the title change to make it OMG!!!1 TRUNKS HAIR is sooK cr@zeh! if they did, the post can simply be locked up.

the art in question is in my signature, now for an explanation on the background of this piece. A few weeks ago, I made a thread in the music and T.V forum in which I basically stated that rage Agaisnt the Machine was the ****, how correct was I, **** indeed! After getting a copy of Battle of Los angeles for Christmas (well, actually using money on Boxing day,) I sat back, took out the sleeve and relaxed, all ready to read the so called cool, deep lyrics. It seems to me that I must have missed the parts where they INSULT MY FRIGGIN RELIGION, So, in the light herted spirit of the now fading chritmas 2k3, I took it back to the warehouse, not wanting to burn it as a sacrifice, it cost to much. ;) So, here you go Rocha, take a look at this, 'tis my receipt, and I'm proud. -Shinji, the Renegade of Junk.

I like the colour scheme and the f;ying high font. It looks really cool. The avatar pretty much compliments it greatly too. At first I thought it was an banner for the Airplane! movies, a.k.a Flying High.

I'm not a fan of Aaron Carter, but I don't despise the guy, he will be lucky to have his fame a few years from now, heck, I don't know of anyone over here who even vaugley remebers him, same with any teenybopper pop, you're a hit until the kids you were a hit for reach the age where they discover real music, then you're forgotten, It's nothing to get insanely jealous over, I certainly don't have any dreams of being him thats for sure. To borrow PoisonTounge's Kubrick analogy for a second. People are going to remember Oddyssey for years to come, becaise it is a masterpiece of cinema, timless classic. Carter, on the other hand, will be as obscure as the Old kids on the Block, **** happens, wear the shirt.

:blulaugh: That is one of the funniest banners I have seen here. The AIM message in you MyOtaku is also quite funny. Looks like Bloodsin has been getting under your skin for quite some time there. Enjoy your [strike] Cigarette[/strike] Jello shots. The red "Banned" text adds even more humor to the banner which has already been achieved by replacing the member stats with an excerpt from your AIM sig with Charles. 10/10. Humor with style

Might as well put my 50 cent in.
Originally posted by G/S/B Master If adult(s) actually play games, I think they need a hobby.
I thought games were a hobby :p Manhunt, I've been following the story for a bit now and it seems that we will not be getting this game, despite the fact that there are worse movies out there. The gore doesn't worry me, I like the games to have a certain gritty feel to it. It seems from what The Vampire: Ed is saying that it is. GTA is a game in which death is almost a comical, laughable act, isn't that worse? I don't think game developers should be held to account for the murderers and such who claim to copy the game, anybody who thinks ,"oh, that was on a game, I'll do it in real life now!" needs to get admitted and diagnosed with severe incompetence syndrome. Real life ----> computer game, see a difference? I do, The bottom line is, we should be allowed to excercise discretion as adults, (and perhaps I shouldn't let you borrow the GTA's, Ozz) like we get to with movies, and the rating system should be more strictly enforced. I got an R16 game ad 13, so there is an obvious lack of enforcement, and perhaps this is where the OFCL is getting worried. good god, the world is going to hell in a handbakset! :toothy:

Elemeno P is a New Zealand band that I have just recvently got into, their debut album has just hit the shelves over here. (The name is pronounced as if you were saying the Alphabet, and got up to the LMNOP part.) Elemeno P have some great hits that have been rocking their way up the local charts for some time now, such songs as "Fast Times in Tahoe" "Every Day's a Saturday" and "Verona" are hard to ignore, and hard not to like. you can find the website for Elemeno P Here and it has got some cool downloads, samples of their hits "Fast Times in Tahoe" , "Every Day's a Saturday" and "Nirvana" Elemeno P are a great band and they definatley deserve some exposure out abroad. Check them out.

Bigotry Shielded by Religion & the First Amendment...
TheShinje replied to Shinken's topic in General Discussion
EDIT: entire post. Shinken, godhatesamerica.com is not what I would call a true soldier of christianity, their views are all hate this, hate that, God is love. how do you fit hate into a religion of love? we are supposed to hate the sin, but love the person, their obviously joyed at the thoguh pagan idloatrous America is going to hell fire. I personally disagree with everything on their stupid website. In America, I believe the denomination of baptist means something different to over here, I am a baptist christian but i am in a church which loves people, and does not condemn them to hellfire. They give the christians who are peace lovig and take the golden rule seriosly (judge not unless you want ot be judged yourself, or do unto others as you would like doen unto you) bad name. saying that, I found this little gem, and I quote
If this Gospel truth offends you, then please hit the "Back" button on your browser. Otherwise, to find more information on this subject, information on the Westboro Baptist (sic)Church and her picketing ministry, a Gospel memorial to Matthew Shepard and more religious commentary and opinion on current events, please hit the enter button below. In clicking the button below, you testify that you are entering this website because you want to, and are not in any way being forced to view the material contained therein.
(sic) added by me. Obviously it's your choice to visit their websites, and I certainly won't be going there again. If we had a thread every time someone found a fanatical organization they disagreed with, we would have chaos. Let them be, and be convinced in your own mind enough to hit the back button. -
Then perhaps it's a wise idea to pay attention to the side where the padlock is, save yo some time? :p The locked threads set an example to users about what is allowed and whats not, it also helps to add clarity to the rules if there is a tangeble example within the forums. But, personally, I think there are way too many 'examples' and should be cut back a few, did we need all of that sonic guy's threads? Oh, I made this graphic for the otakuboards, it's a little clearer to see. The locked thread icon, winXP styles :smirk:
