1.
Originally posted by Charles I never knew you liked to stare at my avatar for extended periods of time instead of actually reading the content of a thread. I know that all 80 x 80 pixels of it just eat up the entire screen. Go figure.
I always look forward to the latest mini movie from Charles ^_^,
Nope. That can't be. If someone didn't create a thread in this forum whenever I update my avatar, the seasons probably wouldn't change. Anyway, as it has been said, my avatar is based on a wrestler. It's not vulgar in any way.
I wonder what the next gripe about Charles avatar is going to be *remembers the kitty controversy* it's a bit of harmless fun. and I don't see what's wrong with creating an avatar of a wrestler. The wrestler would be that guy that follows "The Hurricane" around right?
2. We had a place called the Newbie Lounge for that, infotunate;y it got too spammy and the staff here thought it brought down the quality of the boards as a whole, so it was taken down. I still think though, It would be nice to have some place for people to introdce themselves to the community, it seems more welciming.
3. I have known of Pink Floyd for a long time, however, i have only got into discovering their music as of late. I was watching the local Amateur TV Station when they had this video of somebody driving down the lenght of new Zealand with this wicked Pink Floyd soundtrack. It was Dark Side of the Moon, and I was hooked on this fantastic sound, it is just an incredible mix for it's time. Time would eb my favourite track, as it speaks about I guess, hw little time we actually have, and that it's precious in a way. It was also a great trackt to listen to while watching the sunset in the video. The arrangement of clocks jingling and clanging which kciked off this song were cool, considering that digital technoiogy and digital mixing wasn't available then. DSOTM gives me an aura of relaxation as well as looking back on what I have doen so far in my life while listening to "Time" I have decided to buy Dark Side of the Moon, as it's got a great accompaniment of songs, such as great gig in the Sky, Money, Us and Them, which inspire me further than "Another Brick in the Wall" did, which, before DSOTM, was the only real Pink Floyd song I knew. Finding out about DSOTM was a pretty neat journey too, I have heard of a Wizard of Oz connection, does anybody know about this? I huess I can ask too, what your favourite Pink Floyd album tracks are, how you got into the band ect, do you know any cool things about Pink Floyd that might interest me?. Share your Pink Floyd experiences here.
4. If I was to pick one OB'er that changed me, then no question it would be... Justin - He's a fellow Christian here on OB, and, he has helped me overcome a major obstacle in my life, I will thank him for that. I can't tell you what that obstacle is, or it might lead to flame wars. He's a great friend. Other respected OBers::. (In no particular order, no particular version) Final Flash NeoCactuar Raiha James Transtic Nerve Jinzouningen 17 Zeh Blanko Sephiroth Matt Harry Mnemolth (can James and Mnemolth co exist on the same list? *ponders*) p.s sorry for any typos, I'm getting my glasses fixed, and this is like driving blind *_^
5. I had a similar dream once about being a girl, and it was quite interesting. In the dream I was dating one of my friends, which I though was weird and freaky at the time, it's safe to say I don't view it that way now*. Beuing a girl would change alot of things, I don't think that I would have got into anime for example. The first anime I watched was DragonballZ, but I don't know, perhaps it would have been Cardcaptors or Sailor moon.
6. I suffer from an as yet undiagnosed form of Anxiety, and and I get the hard hard to breathe symptom when I want to fall asleep. I found listening to music makes it go away, like relaxing stuff, Pink Floyd's "time" or "Dark Side of the Moon", or venting my anger about it to the tune of Drowning pool's "Bodies" or for me, also praying, i find a deep peace when contemplating eternal; destinys and God. Suddenly it's like it doesn't really matter.
7. I was right into their first two singles first came out, Clint Eastwood and 19/2000, . I hated rock the house, I though thought it (it was the third single released) was quite unlike the other two I listened to and it put me off buying the album for some reason. I still listen to Clint Eastwood now and again, and chose that song for an interactive CD ROM I had to make for a band in one of my Multimedia modules at Course. For a band that has only made one real CD, G Sides doesn't count for me considering it was only leftovers from album1, it was ok, it does get tired after 2 or more years though.
8. I sometimes sing along to Me First and the Gimme Gimmes type tunes, the punk cover stuff, but I'll punk up other songs I haven't heard any one else do, Of course i have to imagine musical backing :p Other times, I sing along to Pink Floyd, whose music I'm really only beginning to appreciate, or even satellite, you won't know them, they're the Eastercamp band.
9. I thought it was a thoroughly entertaining movie, It had slick action and a good storyline for what it was. The Leauge of Extraordinary Gentlemen was supposed to make little sense IMO, since they seemed to have cars and top of the line submarines in the horse and carriage era. (notice how no one even bats an eyelid when a car goes roaring through horse drawn streets) it was good, and it's plot was satisfying enough for an action flick, considering I'm going there to see the action, I don't really care which angles they approach it. About the flare...
My recollection from the film was that it was supposed to pinpoint the location of the major explosives used to sink venice, it doesn't really matter when the setup is revealed anyway.

10. I heard that Bret Hart was going to return at Wrestlemania XX, though I'm not sure how credible it is, since there is no official WWE word yet. My favourite wrestler from Raw is stone Cold steve Austin, he started the "WWE attitude" which revolutionized wrestling to what it is today, the main event at Wrestlemania XIV is still one of my favorite matches of all time, right up there with the Shaun Michaels/Razor ramone ladder match at Westlemania X Hulk Hogan is also one of my favorites, the first wrestler I ever knew and the main face behd Wrestlemania 1, Mick Foley, aka Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind, also gets big respect from me for the amazing hardcore stuff he has doen in the ring.
11. It is either that the server is down, or Freewebs.com doesn't allow off site hosting, much in the same way, geocities, Tripod or Angelfire does. The latter two usually replace the red x with an "image hosted by" picture.
12. The last WCW Hardcore Champion was Meng a.k.a Haku, and he defeated Terry Funk and Crowbar at WCW Sin. He retired frow WCW while still champion and the belt was then retired shotly before Mc Mahons buy out of the franchise. At which Pay Per View event was Mick Foley, in arguably one of the most violent matches ever, thrown from the top of a steel cage onto the announcers table, what kind of match was it, and what year was this even held?
13.
Originally posted by Hells Fire Sponge Bob is an ok show. I must admit that it is quite funny. My favorite show is the one when they read the curse words off the dumpster and when ever they said one it wold be a strange noise.
Sopngebob has great humour, I enjoy watching it sometimes and just having a laugh at the cool antics the characters get up to. I think it all depends on your sense of humour really. Alot of the gags on the show can appeal to the teen audiences and they do. It's not just for kiddies. I wouldn't go so far as to wear a Spongebob T - Shirt though, or Boxer shorts.
14. Wether you like it or not, the RIAA has the right to protect it's property, the songs they own, and they can do this by any means that they want. They are screwing up badly though, like Tony pointed out before, it's a resource that can be used to their advantage when they use it properly. And maybe *gasp* they could drop the [price of their CD's, that would certainly curb some poples desire for downloading if the price was reasonable, they're 30 NZ$ over here.
15. abortion, do you stand for it? or do you stand opposed to it? Abortions have long been a controversial topic in many countries and are still outlawed by many. In light of recent events. I though I would share my opinion on Abortion and ask for the boards at large, what do you think of abortions? Abortion in general I am opposed to Abortion, i believe their is a destiny for every human, and that no one should take that away. However. I do also believe in the freedom of choice, God gave us free will. And while I will always voice my opinions against abortion, i will elt people make the decisions for themselves. Abortion to me is a murder, it's the killing of an innocent child, A life is a life, in or out of the womb. Anti Abortion protests What do you think of such activism outside the abortion clinics? I bleieve that as logn as it doesn't get violent, there should be a right to protest, protest peacefully. killing for killings. The ultimate hypocrisy I can't for the life of me figure out what that guy, Paul Hill, was going on about. There is no justifiable murder. He wen't on an on about how the abortionist kills people, and he kills someone for killing soemone. To further that, the government kills someone who killed someone, who killed someone, doesn't something stink here? Eye for an eye punishment doesn't work. I would like to say that Paul Hill is not sharing in the same beliefs as I, he only calls it by the general name of "Christian". He is going to be truly dissapointed if he thinks he is going to enter the immediate presence of the Lord, oh please, murder is murder and it's never sanctioned by the lord. Judge not and you won't be judged, forgot that, didn't we? . your opinions.
16.
Boys with super-cute spikey hair last year can't spike it very high this year, because apparently it's a "distraction." Same goes with the spikey-haired girls.
This seems a little ridiculous to me. I think that everyone should be able to express themselves freely, research here shows that it doesn't affect someones learning if their classmates have spikey hair, piercings ect. I don't see the logic in that one, if anything, individuality builds Morale.
Students are to wear nametags for identification, including a picture and signature on our cards. Ridiculous? Yes.
I had to wear a badge like that at my teritary provider, it's just basically for securtiy reasons and is perfectly in reason. This way, the faculty can see who's a student of the school and who's there just to cause trouble, or just plain not supposed to be there.
Students are not allowed to leave at lunch in a car unless a parent has signed a form. Once that form is completed, verification must ensue, which then the school calls the parents.
Once again, this is for security purposes, while you are at their school facility, they are responsible for your well being. If you are "signed out" when leaving for lunch, then this releases them from the liability for your safety and well being if something should happen to you outside of school.
Some things I just find a little weird, but this is downright stupid. I'm a junior in high school, and I still have to ask permission to go to the Kar-Mart down the street from a teacher.
Same reasons as above, they're only lookign out for those they will have a liability to. As for the latter though, I think the teacher trusts you to go down to the K-Mart, so by giving you permission, she would take on any liabilities rather than the school as a whole, the last three are really about pre caution.

T3???

I enjoyed the movie, it extended on the background of terminators and what began armageddon, as well as having an awesome ending
they could not stop Judgement day, but only prevent it
Having a female terminator, the TX, was a pretty cool idea, it gave something new and origina to the franchise, and i certainly hope it's not the last. heh, what am I thinking! Theyre already making terminator 4: Recall. :p
18. So what? It' doesn't really matter. If these American directors like the anime style, then they're in their own right to reproduce it, so long as their anime doesn't infringe on any copyright (anyone own the coyright for the bubbly eyes or sweat drops?). I mean, I live in a pretty much Americanized culture over here, and i am producing an Anime :p I would hate to think it was just passed off as a cheap Japanese rip off, I happen to like their artwork, I'll use a similar style. It's a phase that's been passed down for centuries and centuries.
19. If it's not what you want to do, then don't do it. Especially if there's the opportunity that the Job you're after in the airforce should arise, then you'd be stuck in Weather, and wouldn't be able to transfer very easily, I would think. -I'm not too sure what the positions are in the airforce, so i don't know how much advice i can give that would mean soemthing,
20.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I kind of follow my own set of beliefs, and they do work in the whole angel angle. I don't really believe in all those subsets and such, but I do think there has to be some sort of messengers and so on. I love reading about angels though. Not those lame "an angel saved me!" stories, but the old stories and tales surrounding them. The nephilim, the Watchers and so on. My username is based on such things.
I like reading stories about the Nephilim and the Watchers as well, do you have any good websites that have such stories? I have only found a couple, and they're very interesting. Especially about the angel you named yourself after, Semjaza Azazel.
21. I believe in angels, They're all around us, some I believe, watch over us, some sing God's holy praises (Revelation) I'm doing a study of Angels, I am reading a booky by Billy graham on the angelic presence, and they will play an intrical role in Rising Sun, my own anime series, If God so wants. I've heard of many stories in which Angels sent by God help humanity, In one such case, a Chinses woman who had heard about how Jesus can save you in your darkest hour, came across a ferocious tiger, who decided to have her for dinner, she cried out to Jesus, and the tiger ran away! here's an easy meal for the tiger, as she was rendered helpless by the tigers initial blow, and it just ran off, was this lady protected? I bleieve so... Theres also alot of interesting theories on Lucifer and the angelic rebellion around the internet too, though I'm not too sure how credible they are. But what i've learned so far of the angelic darjk side is, Lucifer, or Satan, was an angel of light, He was kicked out of heaven for his rebellion by Michael the Arc-Angel. and there are both good and bad angels are all around us, and the bad ones don't have pitchforks. :p
22.
Originally posted by cloricus I look at it this way. The bible - GEN1:1 7 days GEN 2:1 Adam & Eve Two completely different creation stories that came from two equally distant parts of the Jewish country before they really got into science and both theory?s were accepted by the early church (120ad ish) and have been included in the finial "definitive" version of the bible which was just a cut down version of about 150 books and has stayed in until this day and to go with the fundamentalist Christian view it is tort to young children (and it bible basher neighbourhoods to older people) that these are in fact two factual stories that follow on from one another. This is plainly not the case since the "church" states that they are separate stories.
the "church" that states this is mis reading the Bible. I will clear this up. Man was created on the 6th day, according to the Genesis creation account. The story of Adam and eve in the garden of Eden is an elaboration on the 6th day creation of man, and then it goes on to tell of the fall of mankind from that Garden paradise. - It doesn't contradict the creation story in any way.
23. That's exactly why I ditched Biology lol. I think they should teach every theory equally, albeit, where's the time to do that!
James When you study biology, you learn about evolution by default. It's present in just about every aspect of biological study. And you need to understand evolution in various forms to become any kind of doctor. So, as a part of biology, yes...of course it should be taught. Creationism is a religious theory, which should be taught in a Church or Sunday School
I disagree, I don't think that you learn evolution by default. People who are steeped up in biological studies see things a different way from Creationistic views. They see evoilution whereas I can see design, so they teach evolution. I may be reading your point wrong anyway. If our faith was onyl taught at a sunday school, then our theory reaches no one which defeats the purpose we believe Jesus has kept us on the earth, to spread the gospel. However, I can't prove god exists any more than an evolutioist can prove his views, so That's my reasoning for wanting them both taught.
24. I did not feel that this belongs in the old WWF(E) review thread, since it is an entirely different topic, mods, if you feel it's not, then merge threads by all means. Edit: This thread has been merged :p, no offense taken Manic :) I am a big fan of the WWE, And I am intending to do a little research on the Company that I watched as a little kid, until the present day. In this time, there was a ban on the WWF being shown in New Zealand, and in that time, the then WWF ushered in it's attitude era. I'm curious as to how it all began, was it all started with Stone Cold? What do you think has made the WWE the wrestling conglomerate it is today? Do you enjoy the latest storylines? Also, it would help me a bit to get responses over the WWE being sued by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Do oyu think that was fair? What do you think was the greatest match in history? Do you also have anything else in general info about the wWE's long history that i might be interested in?
25. This IS the shiny new 6.5 one V_V And it looks good if you ask me, and it also reminds me of soemthing WWE Raw might do. With the grey and red theme.
