  1. [size=1] Wicked, that's alot better than my first banner too. I really like the background with the diamonds, it suits the banner Actually, better than my current banner , the one with no graphics and all o_o [/size]
  2. [size=1] As many people have said already, OB is a fantastic place where people are accepting of you no matter who you are or how you live your life. That's certanly why I'm still here. Lalaith, congratulations ony your decision, I know it's not easy. Having an understanding and accepting community does make it easier. You're the same Lalaith as when you first registered and made friends here, as many have already said in both your threads, and your orientation don't change that. If you can't understand that, don't worry, sometimes I don't understand myself. o_O[/size]
  3. [size=1] If you have to leave the icecream truck for [b]anything[/b] be it you got busted or an angry cuban pulled you out (o_O; they must really hate ice cream) or if you're just too tired to continue and leave of your own will, you will fail the mission. -hint- Drive your ice cream truck on the first island so the cubans won't get you, that's them taken care of, if you get one star (i think every three ice creams you get one) drive ofr a bit until it goes away, then continue selling ice creams. If you get two they'll come after you in cars and ram you so you'd need to get the van resprayed immediately. Checkpoint Charlie is simple to explain, collect all the checkpoints within the time limit to win the mission. Although that's alot harder to put into practice, I hate the boats handling on Vice City, it's so different from GTA 3. "Charlie" will personally greet you on the docks if you beat this mission. :p [/size]
  4. [size=1] What di you think of this movie if you saw it? I thought it was a thougroughly entertaining Movie. This guy Lewis Thomas played by Paul Walker (fast and the furious) is on a road trip with his new car to pick up his girfriend venna and on the way he picks up his older brother Fuller. They end up purhcasing a CB radio and playing a practical joke on a Truck driver known only by his CB handle "Rusty Nail" Unfortunately, Rusty Nail finds no humor in the prank, and sets out on a vendetta, stalking them and chasing them down in his truck. I thought it was a real good suspense thriller, although it did have some pretty "corny moments" i.e [spoiler] If the truck is that big, why not simply dash around it? it's turning can't be that great.(corn field scene)[/spoiler] Overall, i'd reccomend it to anyone in for some thrills and a few laughs as well. And does anybody know why they changed the name from joy Ride? I have been searching for it under it's old title for so long now.[/size]
  5. [size=1] I'd rather be a member. I don't think i'd handle the responsibilities of a mod very well and, it's nice to simply be a member and not have to worry about spam, and annoyances like that. The staff are really great around here, I don't think theres much I can contribute to. Also note that at first, when I came here, I would have really liked to become one, funny how things turn out. [/size]
  6. [size=1] [b]Re: weird occurences, and some secrets too. [/b] It's me again, I have a few new weird things to discuss, Since Vice city and GTA 3 are like the ONLY game I play at the moment :p submarine helicopter? There is a glitch in the game where if you fly the Sea sparrow (or other helicopter) into the vercetti mansion pool (directly behind it in the mansion itself) amd fly into the ceiling, you can then fly in an unloaded mansion, and you're clothes icon is there too. Then you can simply fly down and have a look at Vice city from underwater, and veiw all kinds of hidden treasures, like sunken ships and sharks. I found an easter egg in the game, was it released around easter time? It's on to of the VCN building, you jump into a window nearest the VCN heipad. Rhetorical questions? Pogo the monkey is new in GTA 3, vice City is in the 1980's, how is Pogo the Monkey available to play at a pizza shop 20 years prior to it's release? The football palyer guest on K Chat mutters something about playing San Andreas, the next title in the series? On Chatterbox FM on GTA 3, Lazlow tells one of his listners who rings up about veghetables, that "this is not Gardening with Maurice" Could this "Maurice" be Maurice Chavez, the vegeterian host of VCPR? I called my Vice City RPG "Islands of Sin" rumor has it that in fact, Sin city might be the name of the next game!!! So, these are all pretty wierd, and funny things I've discovered recently, has anyone got anything to comment on them, possible explanations about how Pogo the Monkey ended up in 1980's? [/size]
  7. [size=1] I get high off my faith and my baptism, which is happening next week! There's something about worshipping that gives me a real buzz. That, and listening to Me First and the Gimme Gimmes churning out wicked punk cover tunes of the 60's and broadway songs. [/size]
  8. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by G/S/B Master [/i] [B]I've got another idea. This was inspired by newgrounds abusive system by the way. How about under a post that allows people to say if the post/topic was abusive or out of topic and it shows how many people said it was abusive. Then when 10 ( or how much votes you want ) people/votes that said it was abusive or out of topic is deleted, boom, just like that. This way the mod doesn't have to close topics or delete a post ( if they can ). Also an option to tell if it was usefull/helpfull/wasn't abusive or out of topic. If 10 ( or some number ) said it was helpfull/usefull then a point is given ( using Braidless Baka's idea for the 2nd option ). For the ranks , I would suggest changing the udderly funny title "I Live Here" to "Otakuboards Oldie". [/B][/QUOTE] [size=1] There is a tendency for something like that to be abused thoguh, say, ten people disagree with the way the topic is pannign out, eg, a religious debate where the other side has a better quality argument , or have a problem with the thread starter, there, you have ten votes, and maybe a deleted post that wasn't against the rules in any way. [/size]
  9. [size=1] Amish moving with the times. -------------------- Ox power? it's neant to be Horse Power silly! ---------------------- When Iraq's the only oil supplier[/size]
  10. [size=1] I see no necessity for post counts , and would like to see them abloished in v7. I'm not necessarily talking about getting a replacement though. I think we should all have just one united rank : "OB Member" or similar name. Then nobody would be so agitated by the rank "newbie" and be so eager to shrug it off, if your considered an OB member at the start, it's more welcoming too :) [/size]
  11. [size=1] This is my attempt at a humorous banner, well, there really isn't too much i can say, It's a low res animation, created in flash... It shows why OB's tounge smiley is so green (he's jealous) But, if it's deemed inappropriate for OB, let me know, I know Matt had a similar (but more 'nasty') banner. please comment, despite it's lack of graphics o_O;; Shinji out. [/size]
  12. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B][color=#335062]We did used to have a message on the front page that simply said "All members must read and agree with our forum rules before registering". So, that was pretty clear. The message is gone, because of template changes and such. [/color] [/B][/QUOTE] [size=1] Actually, to the best of my knowledge it's still there. This is the message thatt appears when you're not logged in right? If it is, then I've definately seen it there just a week ago.[/size]
  13. [size=1][color=crimson] I agree with shy, my speakers would have to be permanently turned off while browsing OB :p I think the idea of little sound bytes as you enter a forum would get cheesy and boring after a while. I agree with Semjaza's idea of collapsing all the gaming forums. I think a greater deal of discussion could be achieved through that. Other than that, i'd like to see the technology once talked about for v7, where you can upload your banner like your avatar. It's hard to find a reliable free host that doesn't diplay broken links or the infamous [i]image not found[/i] tag.[/size][/color]
  14. [size=1]If you want to be really sure, right click on the image wherever it's uploaded, select properties and then copy the text in the image url section. Then just put the image url between the [img] tags and you should be fine, note also that some hosts eg. Geocities, Tripo, Angelfire do not allow imahge hosting (they will either display a broken link or an image hosted by image....) I hope that helps, you can pm me if you want further assistance with anything I've explained here.[/size]
  15. [size=1] Thanks Fly T, it was the guy who orders you to drive to different phone booths, who turns out to be a bent cop. I'm doing missions for him and Donald Love at the moment.[/size]
  16. [size=1]*thumbs up* that is a great computer colouring job, especially for your first time ~_^, I think the background you made for it really suits it, as well as getting the copyright text of the actual image of the pony. It's very impressive. [/size]
  17. [size=1] I thinke the worst anime songs would have to be, Rock the Dragon and the new rappie "step into the grand tour" DBGT openings. One that i don't mind at all but find unusually strange is having a cover of Sinatra's "fly me to the moon" at the end of Evangelion episodes, it's just wierd, considering the opening is in Japanese.(these VHS tapes were a little old looking, please tell me if the songs were updated or somethingwith the sudden influence of anime in the west)[/size]
  18. [size=1] I have just watched a comedy show produced by australias Network 9 , It's like Mad tv, and it's a highly reverent and hilariously funny! It's available to us via the Prime television service. I am a huge fan of satires and parodies, and since we don't get mad Tv anymore, this is a more than fitting replacement, sticking it to such shows as who wants to be a millionare, csi and this is your life, as well as taking the mickey out of celebrities like Ozzy Ozbourne and Shane Warne. One thing I'd like to bring to discussion for those who hven't seen it, or can't is that because it's produced by Newtork 9, they are allowed acess to the proper sets of any Network 8 show they parody, giving the parodies they make even funnier, what do you think of the usage of the official sets? It's a thoroughly entertaining show, and definately one I'll be watching regularly ~_^ It's official, Australias officialy officialy mad... :drunk: [/size]
  19. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B][color=#808080]That question's already been answered, but what I will say, is that I really prefer stealing FBI cars and SWAT trucks. It's a [i]lot[/i] of fun too. Sometimes I find myself playing for half an hour, and doing nothing but stealing FBI cars. I have a few garages full of them now. Ahem. [/color] [/B][/QUOTE] [size=1] hah! nothing beats stealing a Barracks OL and trying to get to a garage whilst dodging tanks. I'm almost finished Vice City, but I can't seem to get the final story mission woth Sonny Forelli and his mob, does anyone know what percentage of the game needs to be complete to have Sonny and his men [spoiler] to steal your money, and attempt to take you down?[/spoiler] Also, if anyone has any good tricks up there sleeve to keep the Love Fist limo going until the bomb is defused in the Mission "publicity tour" that would be appreciated. And if I may ask a GTA3 question here, I need help on the Azuka mission where you got to visit all those payphones to get that paranoid dude to trust you, and the Kenji mission "Grand Theft auto" If the last question is considered off topic, please answer via pm. thanks fpr your help. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by NeoCactuar [/i] [B]If only you could respray cop cars... [/B][/QUOTE] boy, do I feel stupid V_V *thinks of something to say that will restore credibiltiy* Um, what I meant was, simply drive it to the respray shop, jack another car, get re sprayed and drive off in the cop car .[/size]
  20. [size=1] I swear I jump right through the roof when I twitch, and it can be really annoying when you're trying to get some sleep V_V Thin g is, I don't have to be falling in the dream for this to happen, the worst case of twitching I've had is when I woke like that about 50 times in one night, I think I cried out of frustration, and then put my favorite cd on until my body was way to tired to twitch. Horrible night, I'll never forget it *_v[/size]
  21. [size=1]you could try typing [b]astonf1.ttf[/b] in a search engine, google for example, it should bring up any websites with that font file, if that's what the file is specifically called, or try searching for futuristic fonts aston ect ect.... [/size]
  22. [size=1] Usually I will listen to a worship CD before I fall asleep, it sets me In a good mood so I don't have nightmares. I used to fall asleep with the T.V on, it was quite interesting because before you wake up, the show that's on invades your dreams, and then you wake up and it's a show on T.V ususally the early morning preachers, so I always think I'm having a "christian apparition" until i wake up. [/size]
  23. [size=1] Mod's are too strict? I don't think so. These boards are just fine. I find the whinging, grating insults absolutely horrible to read. They are tainted with the infamous "holier than thou" aspect and deserve to be closed. James and chales have allowed this debate to continue on despite the flack they've copped from Mnemolth and others for being too strict. If this place was so strict, I'd have been banned long time ago for the numerous user names thing. I am grateful the administration guiding and making these boards a much nicer place have given me another chance. I gusee the only indifferemce of sort is about the Banning of Matt, however, I have disagreed passively with members banning in the past, and been rightfully put in my place. So in that respect, there must be a good reaso, I just don't know what it is. To sum it up, if you don't like it, leave. James has been very tolerant of these attacks against the way he runs the Boards. If that is being too strict or intolerant for you, then I'd love to know what's leient. *thinks of lawlessness* EDIT: I was in a rush when I first posted this, cleaned up spelling and grammar. [/size]
  24. [size=1] I turned 18 last year, I though it was going to be so great, because I'd be allowed to drink :alcohol: However, I haven't really felt the urge to drink, so all my 18 + Identification has done is allowed me to vote V_V The party i wanted didn't get in. [/size]
  25. [size=1] Yes, I remember the old quilt. Mine was the puffy white "n" on the yellow background, I was Nuchlear then :p Heres my new patch. Much more uh, sophisticated, put that down to over a year of "photoshopping"[/size] [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=409070[/img]
