Lady A got my vote too ^_^ I guess Deedlit's writing lacked a certain... I dunno... I guess I always imagine a snowstorm to be glittering and mysterious, and Deedlit's writing was basically a text-book kind of thing. Well done to the both of you, but Aphsy walked away with it. Drat, my tardy timekeeping ~_~;; I had an idea and everything! ^_^;;

*sighs* Okay guys, I have a big apology to make... I am not gonna get this started. When I started it I had a lot of time on my hands, that time has been reduced pretty drastically, given the fact I have a lot of homework and schoolwork (and work work) now... so I'm gonna hafta just drop this. If anyone else wants to take it up that's not a problem, feel free. Again, my many apologies.

Anime Will there ever be such a thing?
Originally posted by Black_Phoenix The PS2 controller works well for a game with limited movement options, but something along the lines of a motion suit would be needed if someone wanted the game to be realistic. As you can notice, a controller or keyboard only has so many buttons, which limits the realistism.
Yeah, I understand that but if we're talking about "how long until they create The World" (which I thought we were) then The World is played with a visor and a joypad. The visor may be sophisticated, but it's still a visor none the less. That's what I meant ^_^ -

Well, if you watched the OVA (I forget how to spell it) that came with the PS2 games, you can see how "The World" is played. Forget all this talk about motion capture, and reading brain waves etc etc. It comes down to a simple visor and a joypad... And that's it. I could even give you a screenshot, but my computer hates me right now... So, really, if the demand was there, they could develop the game in a couple of years. I mean Final Fantasy 11 is supposed to be very similar. So, it's possible. It may not happen, but I'd certainly say it was possible. -
A .hack TGC? *grins* I used to play TGCs all the time, mostly Magic the Gathering. I'm an old hand at the Pokemon TGC too. I'm gonna have to buy at least a booster pack, just to satisfy my curiosity ^_^

Well, I'm a little bit naughty in the sense that I haven't listened to them all *cringe* however, I will say this: The first soundtrack was awesome. Light and bright. Then the last soundtrack took a turn for the darker. I don't have a favourite, but I just thought I'd drop that comment in ^_^ As for the little disk... O_o I'm afraid to put it into anything I own. So I actually have no idea what's on it ^____^;; Was there really any technological need to make it onto a smaller disk? Other than scaring me to death when I put it into my PC? (I did that once with a different disk... I'm surprised my CD-ROM drive is still working ~_~)
Originally posted by Harry You can say that now, but when a boss fires you for telling an irrate customer to leave you wil change your mind. Think of it this way, you can walk into a store, purposely get into an arguement with the employee, and 9 times out of 10 the employee will be fired.
I just wanted to point out that I've been in the situation myself. I'm not till staff (or a cashier) but I work in fitting rooms and I have asked a customer to leave before. She was irate. And she argued with me. She said she was going to get my manager. I offered to call him over for her. And then she went, grumbling all the way. I was in the right, and she wasn't. Simple as. Customers are not always right, the rule of thumb is that you treat them like they are. Then they have nothing to complain about... ...theoretcially... ...but y'know... they usually find something O_o

Wow, some pretty indepth stuff here ^_^;; Well, I was going to let this one die, but seeing as how there's been so much interest, I will strive to carry it through. My only points are directed at Dagger and Pandemonium. Pandemonium: Your character is actually on the side of the aliens, correct? Dagger: Do we actually know she's an android? Because I was wanting to play the whole role of "humanity's a little bit weak". Sure, keep the android thing in, by all means. Just does she even know it? I'm hoping to start this within the week ^_^;;

Blah, I've just done my AS-Levels and my grades weren't that good. I'm tactfully trying to figure out a bunch of resits to do in January (as well as my exams that I have then anyway O_o) I've got six exams in January if my plans don't change too drastically. But I'm opting for Multimedia Computing. Either that or Computer Science. And guess which idiot took A-Level Maths? One of the hardest exams there is... *sigh* So yeah, I'm kinda worried that I won't make my grades... If only my teachers decided my grades. Exams boards are icky O_o;; I also have to get my grades because I want to study in America for a semester. Sucks to be me... :(

Well, as for "getting to know people" you've just gotta put forward decent points, keep up your post quality, stuff like that. I've got quite a lot of friends on OB that I've "met" in various ways. Most of my friends were made in the Adventure Arena, but I made some in the .hack forum, etc etc You don't really need to introduce yourself, people will notice you. And heck, if you see someone you want to get to know better why not send them a PM? A lot of my friends approached me first ^_^;; I'm kinda shy when it comes to things like that. You're noticed by a lot more people than you think you are. I reckon everyone is O_o I talk about the members of OB regularly with my friends offline, and not just the ones who know I do ^_^

O_o Talk about impatience, Daigo... A: Rose Q: In Yami no Matsuei (Decendants of Darkness), Tsuzuki makes a habit of summoning guardians to protect him and fight for him. Who else wants to be able to summon them?

A: Budweiser Q: In Gunsmith Cats, what make is Rally's car?

Heh, I never thought of that pairing before. ;) I'm liking how you keep it oh-so-subtle, just a word or two tossed in. Maybe in the next part (*hopes there's gonna be one*) you should have Marco reflect on the "capture" of the girls, or have Marco and Jake discuss it, because it seems kinda... just blah, if you like. Captured - show up again, y'know? Maybe if the reader was given a way to see what went on it would sit better. And where's Tobias?! *laughs* Nice one though Leh! ^_^

Whoa.... that's just so... y'know... deep O_o I love your rhyming schemes! I kind of bounce along your poems on a rhythm, and I assume that's a good thing ^_____^;; Well done on another great piece of poetry! *makes a doukeshi-poem-shrine* Muwahahaha! O_o;;
Originally posted by maladjusted I liked I'm Still Here by John Rzeznik *gets pounded with various objects*
Oh wow!! *hugs you to death* I LOVE that song!! But then again I love Treasure Planet too. (The French version of that song is... creepy O_o) I guess as far as the music goes, I love the classics. I mean, some of the songs in the "musical" films were mind-blowing. (Jungle Book anyone?) But I like the way they have it now. I think it's healthy that the characters don't burst into song at every oppertunity. That way the plot focuses more on the characters, and I think you really feel more for them if they don't inexpicibly burst into song every two seconds. And I've gotta say Lilo and Stitch were a big let down on the music front, though QA, I'd still reccomend it. It's one of my favourites ^_^;; And when you're talking about computers taking over animation, do you mean the hand drawn stuff, or the 3D stuff? Because Finding Nemo was one of my favourite movies ever ^_____^;; *plots to go see that movie again* And let's not forget Toy Story! Yayness! Heh, and just as a side-note, I can totally prove I like Disney songs. I have the songs in numerous languages on my PC. Chinese, Korean, Hawaiian, German, French, Dutch, Candian French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish etc etc etc O_o;; I went through a phase of madness ~____~;;

I'm going to leave the sign-ups open until about the weekend. Then I get the chance to start this thing properly ^_^ ~~~~ Name: Jason Hertz Age: 19 Appearance: Average height, with a mop of orange hair and curious, green eyes. Can usually be seen to wear simply jeans, a large t-shirt, and a plain black jacket. Can always be found in possession of a penknife and a pocket torch. Biography: Jason was all geared up to head through school and study computing. However, when the "vistors" came, he tried to continue through the schooling system, but it had changed. Just like everything else. He dropped out of school last year and has been drifting, looking for ways to earn money (or take it) for about a year now. Opinion: He doesn't like them and he doesn't like what they're putting humanity through. He doesn't believe that humans should be controlled so harshly because they "saved" us. And he really wants to know what they gain by taking away the light. In fact, he's pretty much dead set on getting it back, and would die for that cause.

Well done Chichiri's Girl! I'm now hooked! I'm up to number... *checks* 129 at the moment - and I'm only stopping because I have homework due in for tomorrow O_o I'll make school pay for what they've done! O_O! I'll use their computers to read more tomorrow! *squees* Yay! Stick figures *sniggers* *cough* So yeah, I'm lovin' it ^_^;;

We all remember those good old days, right? The days when characters in a Disney animation would just all burst into song! They'd know all the words, and nobody would give them funny looks for singing to an invisible orchestra in the wierdest of situations. But recently, the sing-along music seems to have just... gone. The more recent Disney movies (like Treasure Planet, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, and even Tarzan) seem to have moved away from the traditional way of bringing the songs into the animation. So, my fellow Disney-fans, is this a good thing?
Originally posted by Justin For instance, the Norse Beserker: They were extremely aggressive, yes. But the bear is not by nature extremely aggressive. They, like any normal animal, take their own health into consideration as well. Next, I may say I have, oh, I don't know. I'll be cliche, the heart of a lion, because I'm brave or something. There again, lions do not have an abnormal amount of bravery in comparison to other animals. They can't--bravery is a state of mind that requires defying natural fear, and lions go by instinct. They'll only be exceptionally brave when it is necessary, just like any other animal.
That's true enough, but these animals have stereotypes within certain beliefs. So, for example, dogs are known to be loyal. That's a stereotype, and while it's not true for "all" dogs, a majority of dogs are exceptionally loyal. The bear, while not always agressive, will be more agressive than some when it sees reason. The thing about the lion probably comes from the fact that lions (not lionesses - though they probably would as well) will fight ferociously for what he sees as his, and will face an opponent, even if he's aware he's going to lose. Especially over matters concerning his pride (as in the group of lions, not the emotion). So, for the sake of the topic, I think this belief in animal-traits is well based, and I see no reason why it's not a viable possibility. Personally, I feel very attuned to cats. I'm nothing like a cat, perhaps a kitten to some respect, but I'm not graceful, or cunning, or independant, or anything associated with cats. But I feel atuned to them. Perhaps it is, as Justin said, because they're my favourite animals. Or, begs the question, are they my favourites because I'm atuned to them? Cats like to nap alot and be cosy, there's a link, though it's not such an obvious stereotype. I'm more atuned to cats than the Boar at any rate, which is my Chinese zodiac animal O_o;;

Oh wow! Garfield! I feel inspired O_o My only critisism (which doesn't really matter cos someone's out there using it ;) ) is that the text to either side is a little hard to make out. But yay for Garfield! *fwaps Odie* O_o;;

Writing The Queen of Theives ((Story Version))
Braidless Baka replied to erinzyger's topic in Creative Works
After so much praise for it, how can I say it O_o? Well, I'm gonna say it anyway... I think, perhaps, you should have worked some of Darcy's history into later chapters. There must've been another way you could have told us how much she hated the "rich people", maybe just a quick mention of Paco and some decription of her reaction to the thought. I feel that really would've been enough.
Originally posted by erinzyger "So, Paco," Darcy blew a bubble and popped it, "are we going over to my house or what?" ************************************************* Darcy's memories skipped to later that night, after her parents had left to go visit some friends. She and Paco had been left alone, sure that nothing would go wrong. But they were wrong. Oh so wrong. ************************************************* The flames licked at her heels as she ran for the window with Paco.
That part especially, it seemed to skip ahead too abruptly. I had to read it several times to understand the house was on fire. Perhaps the "bridgeing" bit you did in the middle was unnecessary. A quick paragraph would've bridged the gap better methinks. But, having said that and successfully ripped your chapter to shards *begs forgiveness* I honestly think it was well-written stuff. So my assessment is that the structure needs a little work, but the writing itself is wonderful. This piece has great potential! ^_^ -
Oh yeah... I wake up at 7 or 8 in the morning, even on weekends when I don't have to be up. I feel awake... but friends have told me otherwise O_O;; I went through a phase over the summer holidays when I would stay awake until 6am or something... then sleep right through into afternoon the next day - I wouldn't have been a morning person then O_o;;
-
Well, I would've picked a different colour other than black for the background, you can't really see much of him until the light comes around. Maybe that was the effect you wanted though, so that's not really a critisism. Yup, thumbs up ^_^ I'm impressed! I, like everyone else, am a fan of that staticy thing, and the shiny thing... shiney things... *laughs* Yeah, nice work! ^__^;;

I really like that moon O_o And Sehpy's been cleanly cut and pasted, so no crits there... My only critisism is that the moon... well the "glow" from the moon, travels down Sephiroth's arms and wrists. It just doesn't look right... y'know? Blah O-o;; There's my take on a visually pleasing little piece of work ^_^

Art A Final Fantasy 10/10-2 Music Video
Braidless Baka replied to Braidless Baka's topic in Creative Works
terra: The calm bit was a bit with lots of beats that I could hit easily. And I guess I was going for the calm before the storm kind of thing. O_o;; And the thing with Auron, I was focusing mostly on Tidus at that point and didn't realise how much of Auron was actually in it until I watched it after reading your comment ^_^;; -- And yeah, the bits with Yuna as a pop-singer are from FFX-2 where she actually is a pop-singer O_O;; maladjusted: You can watch it with the free RealPlayer, it just goes off to download something from the website when you try to run it. Let it download it's thing and it'll play no problem. It had to be RealMedia because, if it wasn't, you'd have to download 197MB to watch it -- I know I wouldn't sit waiting for that, and I'm not on a dail-up connection. That was my reasoning. Anyone can watch it, if they go to www.real.com and download the RealPlayer (for free), it just downloads another plug-in to play the clip.
