Originally posted by Solo Tremaine Ah, it's a tough choice... Cyke's really did make me laugh, though. So it's his turn again. Lady A's the runner up. Good stuff, heh. If you liked the first game, you should love The Second Runner. It's basically what the first title should have been like, with an engrossing story, more varied gameplay and battle locations, a non-whining main character, and certainly more faster, harder and greater than the original Zone of the Enders.

Gaming Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2.... Looks horrible...
Magnum Apex replied to Youko Minamino's topic in Noosphere
Eh... cel-shading is actually a good thing. This is an anime-based game. Cel-shading is the most intelligent way to go. Zelda used complete cel-shading, and it looked great (shutting up the not-so-smart skeptics.) Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner uses partial cel-shading that blends in wonderfully with the 3D world. The screen shots look bad because the character models themselves are horrendous. They look nothing like the show. It looks like an 8-year old drew Goku's face. Hopefully, this will be an issue addressed before release time. It is obvious that those models are currently worse than the character models found in the original Bukodai. Oh, and Budokai was good for the DBZ fans. It's a very fun game if you take it for what it is, and if you are knowledgeable with the DBZ universe. Also, if you've played the previous DBZ games, you would cherish this PS2 title. -
I have the first DVD, but frankly, it bored me to death. The anime simply has nothing that draws me in. The plot, characters and story flow are as stale as any can be. I see Steel Angel Kurumi! as a bad copy of the sacred Saber Marionette series, with a boring, perverted humor thrown in for good meassure.

Click here for a thread about the show. It's understandable that you missed it, since the thread is named after the Japanese title of the anime. ^_^
Originally posted by magic_raditz has anyone here seen the anime soul hunters? its on internation channel late at night. is it any good? what age group is it intended for? can anyone answer me?
I've seen it, but in Spanish in Locomotion, over a year ago. It's one of my favorite shows, but it's sadly unpopular in America. However, both the show and the manga are quite respected in Japan and some countries in Europe. The show is mature but handles itself for all ages, really. There is the obvious presence of death. People are killed and commit suicide and murder based on idealism and honor (whether self-intentioned, or to the benefit of loved and adored ones.) Other than the mature nature of the characters, the show can be watched by a general audience.

The comedic side of Trigun gracefully fits each episode. It is handled intelligently, and manages to flow flawlessly in between the serious scenes. Trigun has a very creative concept, and the direction is quite smart.

How often do you visit? Usually once a day. What's the average length of your visits? About 10 minutes, and several more if I find places to post in. What's been your longest stay? The first time I registered was my longest time. I was here for well over an hour, reading the rules and seeing how the place ran. Which forums do you visit? The Anime Lounge, mostly. I also visit the video games forums from time to time, though I already have a place to discuss those in. I'm currently visiting the Otaku Lounge more frequently, thanks to the Caption Contest thread. Why do you continue to stay at OtakuBoards? Some of the people here are great, and I see potential in them for good conversations. Plus, I can always come here when I want to discuss something seriously, or peacefully (which is not that often, mind you... since I love controversy and TRULY heated debates.)

A person is his own worst critic, so I'll try to go by myself, and by what people tell me. Physical: Manly facial features, and great hair. Nice eyes. That's pretty much all. My body is too normal, and I don't like it. Personality: The most predominant thing that I've been told, and that I believe, is that I'm honest and sincere. I don't play games, and I'll never backstab you. I don't lie to protect myself or hurt others, either. In fact, I'm a terrible liar. I'd like to keep it that way, since an easy activity tends to become more practiced. The people that have gotten to know me say I'm a great guy. My girl friends say I'm sweet, emotional (sadly, this is true), a good listener and down to Earth. My family and my girlfriend say I'm *** on the outside, but a goodie shoes on the inside. My girlfriend actually likes it when I'm evil to other people, and then sweet and caring to her. I'm egotistical to the point of no return. I actually developed an ego at the same time I developed confidence. To be honest, I'd rather be this way than unconfident. I've been on both sides of the road, and I like this one better, thankyouverymuch. Hehehe, this is actually a negative trait, isn't it? ^_^ Oh yeah... and people say I'm funny. I'm not the type to crack up jokes with a punch line. I'm more of the sarcastic-funny type. People tell me it's funny, but what do they know? They've got no sense of humor.

Anime Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances

Miyazawa? ^_^ Arima inspires me to study more. Kare Kano paints an attractive picture of how 'perfect' people should be like. -
Anime old old old, (so old, it's spelled olde) anime
Magnum Apex replied to future girl's topic in Otaku Central
I saw Candy Candy when I was very little. It was a guilty pleasure, as it was a very girly anime. I watched it in Venezuela. It was mainly about this poor girl working for this rich family, or something to that effect. She then falls in love with the rich kid of the house, but most the family is mean to Candy and don't approve of her, or something. The kind of thing you'd find in Hispanic soap operas, only this one had an English atmosphere to it. -
Anime Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances
Magnum Apex replied to Magnum Apex's topic in Otaku Central
I also have a soft spot for this genre of anime. I own the first 2 DVDs of Kare Kano, and I know for a fact that the 3rd volume has been out for a while (I can't find it at Best Buy, though.) My favorite episode was the 10th in the 2nd DVD. I won't spoil it for you, but the second half of it made me fall off the couch in continuous laughter. It's a pretty good show, and I like the GAINAX style of it that was so predominant in Evangelion. -

Anime Between Episode Zero and Gundam Wing?
Magnum Apex replied to Braidless Baka's topic in Otaku Central
Heh... you really should be careful with the manga stories. There are several tales that transpire after the series. If you look at all the manga stories, you realize that not all of them can fit into the storyline coherently, especially when taking Endless Waltz under consideration.
