1.
Originally posted by DarkLordDragon Hey thanks alot to clear this up... But may I ask something! Is there any American DS's series as they did for SF!? I really don't think so, though...
Well, I saw a DVD the other day about Darkstalkers, and it had several episodes. The screen shots look like the bad side of American animation, so I figured it was a TV show here.
2. 1.) What thoughts or words come to mind when someone says, "Church" Cover, fake, tainted. The Church can be the Sanctuary of God, but priests shamelessly proclaim and use its name to express their own views on the so-called God's will. 2.) Give two reasons why you don't go to church I don't believe I'm truly talking to God, or serving to God, doing anything worthwhile when I go to Church. The people that I see go to church falsely believe that their sins will be forgiven just like that, yet they keep being complete lowlifes. 3.) What qualities do you think a church needs to be a "good" church? Too late for that now.
3.
Originally posted by Yu Law Man I haven't seen anything about them in a long time when did they fall off the map of american T.V?
He's not talking about the horrible American cartoon, but about the 4-episode OAV series. I really liked it. It was very well drawn and animated, and the fight scenes were cool. Too bad it was so short, and the ending was not quite satisfying (Unless there are unreleased episodes in America.)
4.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh Yeah, he does. I've been watching the last few days, which prompted the questions. It's like he's dead but Goku isn't. Weird. Seems like it'd be hard to fuse.
Vegeta had the halo only because Emma transported Vegeta to Earth. He didn't bring him back to life. I don't remember exactly how, but towards the end, when Vegeta cooks up a plan to bring the people of the Earth back to life with the dragon balls, he is revived as well as a result of one of the wishes.
5. It may be a little disturbing, but myths sometimes explain the most bizarre of behaviors. Oh well... I'll just blush in embarrassment and keep quiet.
6.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka Anywho, all you people with your big breasted girls....for some reason I just don't see it happening. Isn't it funny how everyone has like this perfect vision all the time?
Hey, I have an excuse! My mom didn't breast-feed me when I was little, because she told me I bit her a lot. I heard that when that happens, one grows up to like breasts more than usual. So, yeah... there.
7. All right. It's just that everyone seems to combine the two, which I think it's wrong. Purely physical/superficial/whatever-you-want-to-call-them traits I'd prefer: Blonde Blue eyes Big, round breasts. Fake or not, doesn't matter, as long as they aren't horribly fake. Round Butt Thin waste Dreamy smile Semi-long hair, straight, but not too straight. Has to be slightly shorter than I. Must like anime and video games, and be open minded about other stuff. Must like sex/fooling around, touching/cuddling/playfulness, etc. Must love to express her feelings towards me, no matter where we are. Must have a good sense of humor, as in = can laugh even at the sickest jokes. In other words, know that a joke is nothing but a joke. Can't be uptight. Can't be a party girl, but ENJOY a party when the situation arises. Loves to talk. Loves to listen. Is not lazy, but not a workaholic. Must smell good. Faithful. Honest. Here, my perfect, fake woman. My girlfriend doesn't meet some of those requirements, which really matters 0% to me.
8. Well, I disagree with him. I think the B.S. isn't when someone likes someone else's personality, but when someone likes them for their appearance. I really can't imagine having a partner based on looks. It's impossible, unless she happens to also have the things you look for in her personality. Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful women. However, they are just eye candy when I ONLY consider their looks.
9. Heh, it doesn't work that way. You see, when you talk about a PARTNER, it's more than just a sexual attraction. Therefore, appearance matters little. If you were referring to what type of physique attracts me or turns me on, then I'd say I like curvy women, well stacked in T&A. However, when choosing a partner, it goes WAY beyond appearances. My ideal partner would be someone that I have a good connection with; someone whom I can be a total idiot with. In other words, I want to be with someone that lets me be myself. Also, this someone has to have the capability of drawing me, making me want to kiss her, hug her, be intimate with, and protect her. That's all I need... which is a lot, actually.
10.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh I'm not usually the jealous type with whoever I'm dating. But I've had incidents where the guy got mad or offended because I wasn't jealous. They took it as a sign that I didn't care, & even flirted with other girls to try to get a rise out of me. So I had to sort of pretend to give them peace of mind!
I've been guilty of that. There have been times when I'd like my other half to show at least a bit of jealousy. I found out later that she is, in fact, jealous. I'm a flirt, though a decent one, I can make girl friends easily. She never told me it bothered her, until we got into the topic without planning to. You know what, though? I think it's cute, because when I'm jealous, or when she's jealous, we never try to make the other person feel bad for our own irrational emotions. In other words, even if one of us is jealous, we'll never ask the other person to stop doing what makes us feel that way, because deep down we trust each other, and we know it'd be wrong for us to act on an irrational feeling. Also, I believe the longer we remain together, the easier it will be to overcome jealousy. Oh well... Jealousy is too complicated a subject, and it is neither right nor wrong, but it balances out in these two depending on the people involved. In my case, jealousy isn't such a bad thing, since no hatred comes off it, and we never try to blame anyone other than ourselves for the way we feel. However, I've encountered many situations where jealousy leads to frustration, and broken hearts. A friend of mine has a very jealous, untrustworthy boyfriend. He honestly doesn't want her to have any friends (or any guy friends), since he believes with him in the picture should be enough. She doesn't want her to be my friend, so she lies to him when she and I talk. Then, she blames herself for lying to him, when she's actually doing nothing wrong since the boyfriend's the one who gets pissed off whenever she interacts with other people. I am sure he believes he is right in blaming her for it. The guy makes me sick. He makes her feel bad for her own insecurities, and that's when jealousy can be detrimental to a relationship, and to the individual's emotions. Again, it depends on the people involved. Also, do not confuse jealousy with envy. Envy is the result of wanting something others' have, especially when it causes the envious person to feel resentful. Envy IS always bad, unless it fuels your desire to obtain something, honorably.
11.
Originally posted by Cyko You people act like televising anime is horrible thing. Some of us (ex: ME) can't afford much anime, or don't have the connection speed to download it. I love watching most televised anime, and there are much worse anime than DBZ. Televising anime may change the content quite a bit, but it opens up anime to future anime fans. Or just gives them something to do. With out televised anime, I wouldn't know anything about anime. Can't you people see that there are good things that come with televising masterpieces such as EVA on television? And just for the record I have seen all of EVA. ;)
I agree completely. I wouldn't have bought the Cowboy Bebop DVDs or Outlaw Star's Perfect Collection if it weren't for Cartoon Network. However, there are always two sides to a coin. The negative would still be that casual fans (which are greater in number) will think of Evangelion as a bad show, because of the horrible editing. Not all shows are well edited, like Cowboy Bebop... and some even end up like Dragon Ball Z, and all of you have seen the horrible results. Evangelion has a lot of stuff that FCC has previously shown a dislike for, which is why the predictions for a decent EVA showing are null.
12. Welcome, for what it's worth.
13. I am starting to seriously hate Cartoon Network and FCC. Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Dragon Ball series are my favorite anime, and I can bet anyone that Dragon Ball Z would not be disliked as much if it weren't for the English version seen in America. Sadly, after seeing these horrendous episodes, not even watching the Japanese version would change their minds about the franchise. Either way, Neon Genesis Evangelion does not deserve to be in Cartoon Network, because Cartoon Network is forced to edit whatever minor thing FCC might find inappropriate for children, which brings me to my next point. Neon Genesis Evangelion isn't for kids. The mere thought of generalizing all anime into kids' show is a retarded idea, since it holds back the true potential of the product. If I start hearing from people that Evangelion sucks from watching it on Cartoon Network, just like they did with FUNimation's Dragon Ball Z, I'll move back to South America and watch Locomotion (best anime channel on the planet) again. Oh, and not to mention the incredibly horrible ADV dub of the series, but I won't get into that. The Mexican version is a masterpiece though, and if you have the DVDs, give it a try. Simply excellent.
14. When I'm sick, I tend to watch A LOT of television, and I'll most likely enjoy whatever I'm watching. Think about it; it only takes your eyes and a little brainpower to pay attention and understand what's on the screen. Being sick usually makes your physical activities a pain, and as a result, watching television is overtly enjoyable when your body can't take on a simple task.
15. Trumen, what you're describing are two extremes. Extremes are usually the least likely of possibilities, which is why I can hardly relate to your situation. However, I DO feel quite motivated to study, work out, and improve myself overall when nighttime arrives. When I get up in the morning/noon/afternoon, I usually don't feel like doing much.
16. Well, I won't comment on how the boards have grown, since I'm a newbie. I've been coming to the site for a long time, but not to these message boards. However, I don't think calling this place "mature" should be the right way to define it. Maturity is an arbitrary concept. What can be mature to someone may not be mature for another, and sometimes the way people express themselves doesn't necessarily mean they're acting immature or otherwise. A person can be thoughtful, intelligent, but not "mature." The same goes with topics discussed. Sometimes people call topics "mature" just because these emphasize on real-life situations, such as international news, life and death, etc. Just because these topics are more discussed, doesn't mean a community is more mature. Beh... even that last statement is wrong, since the concept itself is highly subjective and undefined in nature and society. Oh well... as for the rules, ever since I've joined I've believed this place has several more rules than other forums, and it is thus a more 'uptight' environment. I still believe it is. I try to get entertainment out of everything I do, and that includes browsing certain message boards when I'm online. Entertainment doesn't always translate to serious discussion, at least not for me, which is why I only come here every so often. Either way, the rules seem to reflect the goal of this place, which is having a very tightly controlled community, with a certain level of discussion that must be met. Every time I need to get away from spam and flaming, I know I can come here.
Originally posted by gokents Well according to my psychology professor, "every male has homosexual dreams at some point during puberty."
Eh... not true, buddy. DuoMax, be a little more specific in what you want to ask. It sounds like you're too confused yourself to even ask a helpful question. Just try to really think about what your feelings truly are, before jumping to conclusions. FACT: I've never met a bi guy.
18. This is VERY old news. I'm upset about the fact that there's no real reason to change it. What in the world are FUNimation / Cartoon Network trying to hide from kids? That girls are actually sanitary and need to wear bras so their breasts won't flop like expired lettuce? Geez, the humanity...
19. 1.) Latin. 2.) He doesn't need hair gel. His hair has been like that since his birth. Just think of Wolverine. 3.) Nah... boring question. I respect the way you call the Wing boys, but I'd rather call them by their real, cooler names. Well, I sometimes like to call Relena a stupid, little, #$%@$@#%#$^$%%$^%%$^$^%$ut, but I won't get into that...

21. I bought the cool box set that came with the friendship charm and the soundtrack. So far, I've watched 5 episodes. It reminds me a lot of Blue Seed, though.

23. I went to high school in Venezuela, and we had a pretty hot exchange student from America. She was blonde, had blue eyes, big teeth (not really her best trait), but she seemed nice. She had a good body, with an attractive rack. That's the first thing us horny seniors noticed. To some of the students, she came off as a little dumb, which was just fine. I actually became good friends with her, since I was the one with the better English background. I was actually NOT a good influence on her, since learning Spanish was part of the reasons she was there in the first place, but at least I treated her with respect. On the other hand, some kid, a year below, grabbed the girl's butt and breasts and kissed her. Rather than her being upset, she was just surprised. I was like, "o_O" Then, I heard she had had sex with one of our classmates, even if they weren't a couple. Imagine what image the people there had of American girls, after such an experience.
24. You know, I love it how some people put tags on certain types of relationships. They state that online relationships work based on age, and that those involved are more prone to cheating on each other because of the distance that keep them apart. I'm currently in a long-distance relationship, and I'm happy. Sure, most distance relationships don't work, but they're no better or worse than short-distance ones. Long-distance relationships are a true test of how much you truly love the person on the other line (or screen?) They are a true test because unless you're willing to wait for them, and choose not to cheat, they are devoting themselves to a person in ways that most people on short-distance relationships wouldn't. If it works out, it will turn out to be the surest thing those involved could've ever done. If someone "cheats" on their long-distance partner, do you think they're worthy of trust in a short-distance relationship? I think not.
25.
Originally posted by Sarasan Hey, y'know what? I'm sorry, I was in a bad mood for a little while. I'll get back on topic. Anyway, how many VHD novels were there!? Were they Mangas, or just regular books?
I think 3 novels were made. I don't know if there's a manga too, or if the novels are actually manga. The bottom line is that they haven't been translated.
