i just recently saw all of Lain and i really liked it, i think the ending was very appropriate too. i can't explain why, beacuse the whole thing is still sort of seeping in and finding a place in my mind, but i think her end was the best thing for her. as for Boogiepop, i saw the first episode yesterday and i found it interesting because it somehow reminded me of Lain. i would like to see the rest of the series though, to draw out a real oppinion.

i believe standardized testing is pointless, i don't think the FCAT should be the deciding factor as to whether you graduate or not, the same thing goes for the SAT and getting into collge. there are many factors that can have a negative effect on testers. there are people that i know that have 4.0 GPAs, but are bad test takers and so they cannot pass them. it's funny i should run across this post today becaus there was actuallly a protest against the FCAT in our school today. although i am against standardized testing, that protest was a joke, the participants had no real reason to protest, they didn't know facts and as soon as the administrators said they'd get 10 days suspension everyone went back to class. they didn't believe in their cause so i refused to participate, all they were interested in was coming out in the news.:rolleyes:

my mother knew this woman once who had married her brother. they had been seperated at birth and when they met each other and fell in love and got married and had children they did not know they were related. somehow, though, they found out and they decided to stay together because i mean it was too late already, anyways, and they did love each other. it's not cousins, but it's still in the family.

my aunt married her second cousin, i think. his mother was her mother's neice. well, they never really new each other and the children (three girls) came out ok, although I'M convinced they're all 30 seconds slow, but that's just me. either way, i think it's icky, all my cousin's are ugly and pimply and greasy and racist and machistas. . .plus they look like my dad or brothers, EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

ok, when my sister was a little kid she used to watch these two animes, that was in like '81, and even then they couldn't have been brand new because she watched them in our native country Nicaragua. the name of the shows in spanish were: Candy & Mako la Sirena Enamorada i'm not sure if they were translated into the same name in english, but if they were they would be called: Candy (obviously) & Mako the Enamored Mermaid so my question is has anyone heard of these and maybe possibly knows where i can find them. according to her she's willing to pay any price to own them.

ahh, quite simply put Miyazaki is GOD!!! his movies are original and always have a message that transcend all genders, species, and race. his style also is something that no one can compare to, the man is a genius.:love:

seems like a lot of ppl are getting out earlier than me. i get out of school on June 11th. We aren't allowed to miss the last week either, they intenionally give us final exams at that time. ***mumbles curse words*** :bash:

i have to get a job and learn fluent japanese also, i will be going to some anime thingy that is free, HOORAY FOR FREE STUUF!!!!, and umm, university investigations. the rest of my time will be devoted to getting reaquainted with my bed :)

to tell the truth i'm not a big fan of all girl badns, and i myself am a girl. ususally, it's a girl in a guy band, like for example, Siouxie and the Banshees or the Eurythmics or solo women singers. my friend wants me to join this band she want to form that'll be all girls, and i said yes, even though i'm not taking it too seriously. she knows this, of course, i mean she herself can't even sing.:rolleyes:

i'm pretty good at writing and umm, maybe sometimes drawing, if i really want to be. it all depends on the mood. according to my teacher i'm a genius at photoshop:) but, in the end despite that i have a knack for some things, there's always room for perfection, so yea, that's how that goes.

this came to mind last night and i felt like sharing, i'm not sure whether to name it suicide or revenge. when you grow up around this type of s*** you learn to be non-chalant about it. i mean, i know it's bad, but even cops are crap down here, i'm not gonna live my entire life in fear because everyone around me is constantly being mugged and threatened. i mean, you try to avoid it, but until you get the cash to get out of the rut you have to put up with it.

I'm glad though that your all safe, and that nothing was stolen.[/QUOTE] unfortunately for me, i've never felt that type of safety, but that can be a good thing, i always watch my my own back, on the defensive so to speak, so it's hard for ppl to blind me with trust and then steal all my stuff when i turn my back. i have family that were burglars once, and just because of that i pity the man that was caught stealing a t.v. i mean i'm not stupid, try to hurt me and all hell will raise loose, but senseless murder for some merchandise is not me.

yeah they do, the nice guy will have the girl at the very VERY VERY end, when the girl wants to settle down and feel safe. nice guys, they come last, when you don't want to have anymore fun.

heh, i live in a horrible neighborhood. my sister was mugged by a guy with a gun in our drive way and the next week her car was stolen. and then once they stole the radio from my dad's car, and there was a drive by and they shot the guy that lives in front of us, and once this guys came to our house to try and beat up my brothers, but my mom scared them away with her broom. :laugh: there's more but i can't remember

nudity in anime doesn't always serve as a crucial part to the story line, but the same thing goes for live action american movies. what a lot of ppl don't understand is that just because it's animated doesn't mean your 6 y/o child can watch it. the truth is that most anime with nudity in it is not directed towards a younger audience. what i could never understand is how a parent could be more offended by a sex act, rather than a man killing another man.

SA was re-released into 800 theaters after it won the Oscar. It's a great film, and although Disney did buy the rights they had nothing to do with the creative process, that was all Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's work and effort. It deserved the award because it was the best movie in the lot.

i would first and foremost help out my starving family that lives in nicaragua. i would buy my mom a house and pay off all her bills so she would never have an actual reason to pester me. i would give both my sisters the ability to choose what they wanna do with their lives, and not just what they can afford to do. then i would pay for my education and buy a car and a descent apartment (in japan). and with whatevers left i'll save up a portion and then shop 'til i drop with the rest.

it isn't the most dusgusting thing i ever saw, but it's all i can remember, there was this dog that had been runover and it had been slit open from the top of it's chest to the bottom and i remember that the blood on the organs and stuff was so red, the color was so vibrant. i just couldn't take the image out of my head. also, once in fromt of my house there was a cat giving labor in the middle of the street and this car came zooming by and it hit it. all the kittens went flying in the air like a balloon had been popped, it was horrible. and one more, once at a concert i was watching the moshpit and this girl jumped in. she pushed this guy and he pushed her back, then she got pissed and she told one of her guy buddies and a whole mess of guys jumped him. they kicked him out of the concert and when he was gone the girl was swinging the pony tail the guy had been wearing around in the air.

well, um, there's three roads: 2 lead to death 1 leads to freedom what i'm thinking is, it doesn't lead to living as a free person you can die a free man so either way you die **i don't know**
