Yeah, well, I just had to label it as something so people would actually be interested in it. I couldn't do "Hooray for pop/rock/indie-slightly RnR/symphonic/guitar/mixed genre ect. bands!" Most of those bands are Indie, though, and some others are just a lot of my favourite not-very-well-known bands. And judging by your own tastes, Satan, I would recommend BRMC, My Morning Jacket, and Kings of Leon. And I think you should try the Yeah Yeah Yeahs... since they're just... er... great. Ah... How could I have forgotten The Pixies? ~*wacks self over the head*~ And I just saw them live a few months ago... With Everclear, unfortunately >.< [color=green]Double-posting is not allowed. Writing Good pick up lines: boy and girls
Evil Pancakes replied to AutoKill's topic in Creative Works
This is a story of me being such a good girl... At a concert a couple months ago, I started not feeling well around the middle of the show, so I squeezed my way out of the moshpit and climbed up the stairs to thw balcony. Apparently, I hadn't eaten enough that day, and my hands were shaking. I got a glass of water then saw that my friend Steph was sitting on the couch in the back behind the bar. She wasn't feeling too good either, so we just sat and talked for a while. A couple feet away sat a blonde, something like 18 year old guy, obviously drunk, and he was staring at me through the entire conversation. I tried to ignore it. Steph said she was going to the bathroom, which was on the same floor (the place was pretty small), and I was left alone to wait for her. As soon as she had gone, the guy tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around, and he said, "You must rock a lot." "Um... what?" I answered dumbly. Apparently, this was all too much for him and his memory had been wiped clean. "Ever seen them live before?" He asked. "Er, no," I replied. "Have you?" "Nope." "Ah-ha... Why aren't you out on the floor?" I asked. Why had I continued this stupid conversation? WHY!? "Oh... uh... I was out... before... But, I'm kinda wasted, so... (He proceeds to go a little cross-eyed. Then,) This is the best concert ever! (Takes a swig of beer)" I sat there for a moment, gripping my purse, nodded, got up and ran like all hell to the bathroom. -
The Dandy Warhols (I feel so bohemian like you, and I feel, wah-oh, WHOO!) The Coral (The best thing to happen to guitar music in the last three years) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Just released their new album 'Take Them on, on Your Own'. Have a single called "Stop" out right now) The White Stripes (No explanation needed, I hope) The Strokes (Rejoice, for the new album is soon to appear!) Travis (Excellent band with a tendency to get soaked. Try out the song "Sing") The Polyphonic Spree (Good vibes choral symphonic pop band that will make you love and feel good about the world. Or the sun, more specifically) Coldplay (Beautiful music, voice, and lyrics to soothe your soul) Electric Six (Great band with hilarious names [i.e. The Rock-n-Roll Indian, Dick Valentine], fun music and hysterical lyrics. Made it big in the U.K. with their single 'Gay Bar'. See below) The Datsuns (Neck cracking RNR from a band that know how to play their guitars fast, and do it too) The Thrills (Sunshine band. Try One Horse Town) Har Mar Superstar (Okay... so he's a bit creepy. WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART) The Flaming Lips (More lovely songs that sound as though they're being sung by sock puppets. Try out the album 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots') Mew (Will calm your mind. Sit back and close your eyes) The Darkness (Delishus glam-rock. Singer sounds a bit like Freddie Mercury) The Libertines (Unfortunately broke up. Still, their new album 'Up the Bracket' is wonderful) Junior Senior (Father-son duo with hit single "Move Your Feet") The 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster (Yes, the named themselves after a car. Wow.) Kings of Leon (I can't say it well enough... so.. Ahem: "Youth & Young Manhood is a classic debut. Fresh, vibrant and wiry, it might reactivate a template pioneered by The Strokes, but it does so with a personality of its own. More Creedence Clearwater than The Velvet Underground.") Radiohead (The legend. The politcal pioneers. They are perfection.) The Mooney Suzuki (I recommend 'In a Young Man's Mind') Royksopp (Ah, nostalgia...) Sigur Ros (Icelandic band that make the most inspiring music I have ever heard) Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Sexiest female singer voice. Ever. Wacked out music you can't hear anywhere else. There's nothing like them) Meh... That's enuff for now. Any other Indie fans? Share your experiences, other favourite similar bands, ect.

...What the title says. These are untitled, cos they're sort of works in progress. Cringe from the wind My flowerchild Sway your lashes in the cacophony As the howls penetrate your mouth And erupt from your jowls Like bloody cattails You snap your limbs. Will you break, my flowerchild? Pretend your way out of this labyrinth Smarting as your pace beckons as a leper Cold fingers cracking. Will your shadows forbid? The metal is screaming Deforming the scars Carved into your rinds Flirting with flesh and bone Drinking in your sweet petals And rotting the soul beneath. ----------------------------------------- Beloved, do you know you uninspired me As I conspire The bleak words fall From your bleak mouth And I recall Being subjected to your Wearisome mechanics Implying monotonous words Over your tedious eyes. Beloved, do you see the world around you? Are you in black and white Or have you failed to attempt to try? What poetic spawn Is yet to resound From your oiled joints Rubbing alcohol Staining Your ivory rubber gloves.

Meh... Jesus Chicken... I just read what you said and I double that. To be able to express myself through the written word... No fair. Stop reading my mind with the goddamn wish I wished for in the first place!
-
Actually... If it happened right now, I would only wish for the one thing that has been plaguing my mind for the past few months, and that is the most pathetic thing in the world... A guy I'm madly, crazy in love with... And just to have the courage to ask him out or for him to ask me out... Isn't that so sad? I need a salad... Oh, and I'd wish to be able to read minds. Cheers ^.^

My crazy little pill Your beauty I cannot afford Even when my bloodied eyes See nothing but pain In the midst of a gray ashen face. Humming tunes deep into the night My crazy little pill Won?t you let me sleep? I dream of nothing but you My thoughts drifting up and away. In my ivory cloud Flying through on wings not mine Play me a few chords Won?t you, my wild little pill? Anyone can play guitar But it doesn?t mean a thing to you. Sing to me, my crazy little pill Let me sing as you slide down A parasite of peace Eat through the crevices Dig holes across a desert of cold steel. Hush now, my jagged little pill Darkness falls across my eyelids Across my body Petals, you say? Sweet perfumes Electricity in its most saccharine form Drooping and dropping and dragging me Down? Down? Down?

Adorable avatar, btw. XD

Not many things do make sense, when you break them down. Who knows what dreamlike illusion is really before us? I merely allow it to be interpreted freely. Jumbled up is the way everything is... What we think is unorganized and uncaged.
-
That is the point exactly... thoughts and feelings coming together at once in a nonmelodic panic high... breaking it up, though I'm sure you mean string some sentences back together would defeat its vibe.

Hope you don't mind longish... it's untitled It?s incredible what one can do with something so small It?s tiny Look at that I can?t breathe Walls are closing Getting smaller Am I claustro? It?s not even Worth saying the word Don?t continue No strength To keep writing That one word How do I keep going? It just goes on And on Continues Sick of you Sick of me Can?t get me To shut up Banging on the walls Of my head Turning over Twitching In my bed Where?s the light It doesn?t blind Why won?t it blind me Blow across my face I need a cool wind To? Stand in I need Time Time Give me time To do nothing Nothing Won?t stand for it Can?t stand it Can?t sit down Won?t watch it Mesmerized by it By the thought Drifting Drifting Drift and die Sing a song Sing me a song To hum through the hours of dying All of them It won?t go Why Why won?t it leave me Alone Darkness In the corner Tiny crack A corner Stupid Useless Always so useless Rid me of it Get rid of me Dump me in there Kick me out Leave me to rot Rot in my invisible grave In the cold In the rain The rain that beats Mercilessly Against the skin The peel of my soul Rip it open Rest in peace Open Open your eyes Shut them Idiot Never open them Be safe Safe Bottles Caps Needles and pins Sew it up Break the glass Open the cut Splinters Wasting my time I know it Why do I do it If I know it Always do it Again And again Screw up You?re a screw up Accept it and shut up Busy Busy and loud Out of touch Thought you were a natural Silly child Lord only knows you?ll survive God? What god Didn?t really think you?d make it Did you Animal mind down the drain The trashcan of the universe Paranoid What?s behind you? Scared? Better be Watch out They?re always out to get you.

Writing I got a question for you all....
Evil Pancakes replied to Cora Jane 2's topic in Creative Works
Shakespeare is amazing, and one of my writing idols. I own his complete plays and many of his other works, and have read most of them. Most of the people who don't like Shakespeare simply have trouble understanding his language, and therefore cannot interpret the comedy and meaning in his writing, something that can be worked on and improved (understanding it, not the writing). Personally, I like A Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It -

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Evil Pancakes replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Hallo there... Well, I have a bit of a pitiful poem I'm writing, but can't seem to conclude it. Any suggestions, anyone? It brought the joy of wonder The elements of despair Each tick of the clock like thunder The mind unwilling to share. The beauty was fulfilling Yet empty to the bone My open arms and broken charms Slit and cut, yet its eyes still shone. The brightest glow, of angel-white, Like embers burning low It began to fade A darker shade Its heart pierced with the cold steel bow. Its song still unbroken A melody unforgotten For the beast left me no token With its own blood it was sodden. The beast let out a wail It carried over the land From infant, to tree, to quail The jewel fell from its hand. The deep brown eyes engulfed me Lost was I in its world Yet somehow I was free A stream of light unfurled. The jewel smoked crimson ash The ash a smell of dew---
