Six Feet Under is one of the worst Death Metal bands I've ever had the chance to listen to. I cannot understand why people would even enjoy this garbage. Oh well all I know is I could be listening to a lot better music that is actually about Satanism, since this band has nothing do with Satanism, then this.

Grab a horn of mead and join the FOLK METAL THREAD!
Amorphous replied to Jakehammaren's topic in Noosphere
Well in Cruachans case most of their albums really are not all that amazing, if I was going to suggest anything by them it would be Tuatha Na Gael. Sonata Arctica is just power metal, nothing else. Either way they aren't my idea of great power metal. -

Amorphous replied to Jakehammaren's topic in Noosphere
Well, there are tons of bands out there that I could suggest easily. So let's get started. Wongraven - Folk Ambient style music. They only have one album, their self titled. Amazing work. Isengard - Høstmørke, get that album, everything else is Death Metal. Wintersun - Self titled album Aes Dana - La Chasse Sauvage (Probably way to heavy for most on this forum) Lumsk - Anything by these guys Vintersorg - A big name in Folk Metal right here, Till Fjälls is my recommendation first. Cruachan - Pretty much anything Adorned Brood - Wigand, this album first. Butterfly Temple - Anything from these guys. Agalloch - The Mantle and Pale Folklore. I love these guys they paint absolutely amazing landscapes with their music That is right of the top of my head right now. -
DeadSeraphim is right, Black Dhalia Murder has never been on Victory Records. They released their first EP on Love Lost Records and the rest of their releases on Metal Blade and there has been no information on them switching to Victory Records.

Despite the fact that Marylin Manson is not metal I love his album "Mechanical Animals". That is really the most mainstream band I listen to next to Coldplay and the music is just a guilty pleasure of mine I guess. Otherwise yeah, I do not know of many industrial bands in fact I can't think of any industrial metal bands of the top of my head besides the Kovenant. It was never really my style I suppose.
-
I understand this fact that even though we try to educate people it will never truly help. But it does get frusturating you see even if people do not care. Music is what I find to be the most important thing in my life so I feel that I should at least try to explain to people, that do not know what metal truly is, what is and is not metal. Honestly otherwise I would not care at all. Anyways for relevant input I never really agreed with the conversion of 'Covenant' to 'The Kovenant', I really think they took a huge downfall in changing from melodic black metal to industrial metal. That's my honest opinion, but at the same time I am not a fan of Industrial Metal so it is all opinion.
Because watching metalheads argue over semantics is hilarious.
It is only hilarious because you do not understand, simple enough. With that I would also like to say I am not insulting you but at the same time if you do not listen to this music then you obviously do not understand why we are 'arguing'. If it seems hilarious that we are arguing just because of the fact that arguing over the internet is ignorant then do not worry about it you just have no reason to post then, once again, simple enough.
-
Well then I guess you aren't metal enough, you should all be listening to the hardcore beats of Linkin Park. Duuuuh. They are teh angst1! Honestly what was the point of spamming up this thread? Anyways, we can put Murderdolls and Wednesday 13 in there too? How so? All I ask is for some proof as to why you think they are metal.

First things first, I am used to writing much longer poetry but this came from a burst of inspiration so I wrote it down as quickly as I could. Other then that it should be noted that two words are of artistic license and one not of my own doing, Poeceanicreverie being that one. Enjoy. Diaphanous glow depart my mind Electric stars rephrase the night Capacious entrails writhe ?round The dreamscape like a leviathan?s tail Transcending porous outrage Weightless upon the stygian shoreline An impervious scent of cold cut glass Shrouds the bereavement of winter's past In necrotic imperium lost out at sea Poeceanicreverie The dream of nostalgia will forever be Hath be the light colder then night I see.

I agree with Jake, the list you have posted is almost all non-metal. Though I do enjoy Rob Zombie he is Shock Rock while his earlier persona White Zombie had a Grunge Feel to the music. Despite that the bands that are metal on that you have listed are Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom and Blind Guardian, nothing more, nothing less. As for all those bands other genres I can honestly tell you I do not know, but this does not hinder me from knowing the fact that they are not metal. To tell you the truth most Metal Heads, (True) Goths, and Punks think that Slipknot is uninspired and annoying because of their gimmicks that they try to use in order to attract fan. These are things like masks and trying to play heavy with the occasional screaming here and there. I realize that Metal Bands, Punk Bands and Gothic Rock Bands all have an image factor as well but that is because of who they are. But this is not to gain fans. I have yet to see one person in any of those sub-cultural groups think that Slipknot is decent that I have talked to. That is not to say that everyone thinks that. If you run into a decent metal head then it has nothing to do with variety in their taste of music; I know lots of Metal Heads that listen to music from all types of genres. Even I do, I adore Electronic music for example; Ambient, Trance, and Drum and Bass. I also listen to Jazz, Rock and Folk. Though at the same time there are many Metal Heads who are just ignorant to the fact of that there is music beyond Metal and just like insulting people because they have nothing better to do. Sadly that takes up most of the Metal Head population. At the same time Slipknot is not metal. In fact they recognize this very point and even used to state it on the main page of their website for all to see. Also, the whole thing to do with the Christian Lyrics and Black Metal music mixed together as has been addressed by Jake already is known as White Metal. At the same time I still do not feel it should exist as such, it just contradicts what Black Metal is. I accept it as it is though I can not stop the fact that this is happening. Jake, all those bands you listed that you think are Black Metal are so no worries there.

For some reason I find it almost an insult to the Black Metal scene to have a Christian formed group that plays Black Metal and contains Christian lyrical content. The very reason Black Metal up rose as it did was because of the branded hatred for this whole religion and to bring other ideals across this Earth to more people?s attention. These ideas have been suppressed by people who are Christian or rather those who claim themselves to be as such or those under any other faith that believes in the one almighty God. That aside, being it my own personal opinion and that I feel that Christian Black Metal is a complete oxymoron and should not exist based on the principle of what Black Metal is, this band Crimson Moonlight has had praise none the less, possibly worthy of checking out? Maybe, I probably will never get around to it as I have bands that are much more important to look into at this moment. Anyways my opinion is done and over with since my opinion could turn into a heated debate that I do not necessarily want at this time. Explaining myself may take too much of anybodies time here up so there is no need to go into why I think what I think. As for actual black metal, there are thousands of bands I could recommend you. Next to Doom Metal, Black Metal is my specialty in the metal spectrum of genres. Give me a list of who you already listen to and I can see about listing some bands similar to your current tastes.
You should check out Sleep Terror, then. They're the only "instrumental Death Metal" band I've heard, and they sound incredible. Also, Vegan Uprise is another project by the same guys. When I first started to get into metal I was really into Cannibal Corpse. But now I just find them boring. Maybe it was that I heard at least three songs by them every time I listened to the local metal radio station. It was pretty cool that they were in Ace Ventura, though. I will continue to buy Nile's albums as long as they keep releasing them. And as long as I can scrounge up enough money to purchase them. ;) Sympathy's latest album was pretty good, even though it was only 6 tracks and 2-4 of them were already out. (PS - Slayer is not death metal.)
Sleep Terror is quite the death metal band this I have to admit. Very out there. Enjoyable on all levels as far as I'm concerned. Cannible Corpse is highly boring which once again I agree with you on. Sympathy's latest album I have yet to hear but it will come all in due time. Anyways, if you haven't heard of the band Demilich I insist you check them out. I highly recommend that so go out and get this music now.
-
On the subject of Nile my favorite songs by them are The Blessed Dead, Unas The Slayer of Gods and their amazingly crafted 17 minute long song "In Their Darkened Shrines" Part I through IV. Though they are just as gorey in their lyrics as any other Brutal Death Metal band ever was well in their older days they were anyhow. Bands that need to be mentioned in this thread are as followed; Demilich, Morbid Angel, Behemoth, Dissection, At The Gates, Hypocrisy, Old Funeral, (Old) Darkthrone, Winter, Atheist and Malevolent Creation. There is plenty, plenty more Death Metal out there I just cannot think of anything right now. My mind isn't here.
-
Best.Death.Metal.Vocalist.Ever. Antti Boman. Never in my life have I heard another man create the vocals this man has made. It is beyond unique I do not know how else to describe this mans vocals I would have to force you to listen to them with utmost attention for you truly understand. For those of you who are wondering as I doubt you know what band this man hails from as it is a more underground Death Metal band, that is legendary now after their splitting up, is Demilich. I recommend everything they have ever released as they are just wonderful amazing Death Metal. Second place goes to David Vincent of Morbid Angel his vocals are incredibly smooth yet mind blowingly harsh. There are plenty of amazing Death Metal vocalists out there but those are my top two. As far as actual Death Metal bands go I could not even begin to list the ones that I enjoy, let alone the ones that I know.
-
Ok first of all to 0ber0n I do not know how you can class At The Gates as a band that you would lean towards when listening to Power Metal as it is absolutely amazing death metal. To get something like that mixed up amazes me, I really do not know how to feel. That band is one of the gods to Death Metal music, or at least was. To class them as Power Metal just mystifies me. Now Lamb of God being classed as Death Metal is a much more common occurrence and I can see why some people would think that they are but the honest to god they are nowhere near Death Metal. This band is what the definition of true metalcore is, and in retrospect are probably one of the best metalcore bands. Not that I really enjoy them all that much, it is not my style of music. Also Trivium is Metalcore with some Thrash influences to clear that up and I can't stand them one bit. One more thing; for the love of god never put Opeth under Death Metal again. If you ever want to place Opeth under any genre place it under Progressive Metal. Yes there is a bit of extremity in their music thus it should be called Extreme Progressive Metal. The Death Metal vocals are just considered Harsh Vocals like what Cradle of Filth does. They are Heavy Metal with Harsh Vocals or else Gothic Metal when we consider what era the music is from. Another example of this is Children of Bodom a Speed/Power Metal band with Harsh Vocals. The vocals define nothing in these bands they are still the type of music they play. Anyways that was my beef with that post. As far as In Flames goes I never liked them. Their first album had it's moments but that's about it. My gateway band to Metal, years and years ago, was Cradle of Filth so I'm more partial to them especially their EP "Vempire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein" and their two full length albums The Principle of Evil Made Flesh and Dusk and Her Embrace.

Actually I am not ranting, but trying to prove a point, anyways I am done with GothicInuyasha because the posts just are to much to read. Though I have to say, I wasn not being rude when I was directing you towards what those genres of metal where so there was NO reason for you to come unglued like that.
God...you guys must LOVE ranting... I like a lot of the bands mentioned earlier (ex:Moonsorrow, Falkenbach, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Mithotyn, Lumsk, Månegarm, Nomans Land, Bathory, Enslaved, Asmegin, Bloodaxe, Windir, Equilibrium, Skoll, Forlorn, Frostmoon, Storm, Thyrfing and Yggdrasil. ). I also enjoy German metal. You should try it! There is nothing more relaxing than hearing a German dude unleash his fury over the airwaves! :animesmil I would recommend Romstein, but you people have ranted and raved about what is heavy metal, I'm not even sure if Romstein IS heavy... :animedepr OOC: Amorphous, you have a great taste in music there! :D
Those are all only Viking Metal bands though, good none the less. Anyways I do listen to German metal Bethlehem being one of my favorites out of that country. Rammstein isn't actually metal to tell you the truth it is actually Industrial which is another neat genre of music and thank you.
-
I enjoy Viking metal highly Jake. I listen to Moonsorrow, Falkenbach, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Mithotyn, Lumsk, Månegarm, Nomans Land, Bathory, Enslaved, Asmegin, Bloodaxe, Windir, Equilibrium, Skoll, Forlorn, Frostmoon, Storm, Thyrfing and Yggdrasil. That's a plenty big enough list of bands that I enjoy that are Viking Metal. I would put Amon Amarth in there as well but in all seriousness they are not Viking Metal but rather Death Metal with Viking lyrics that's all. But yes I enjoy Viking metal quite a lot.
I can't help but say SOMETHING about this...but Cradle of Filth is also one of my favorite bands. Their vocals are NOT annoying. Dani Filth has technique and skill. His vocals are difficult to match and are outstanding to my standards. I don't want to cause an uproar, but please take your insults somewhere else...we don't care which bands you hate most or which ones you think are annoying. This thread was asking for your favorite bands, please name some.
I'm sure you will get over it. It is my opinion not yours. Now if I had wanted to start an argument I would have been much more direct and degrading with the comment. Honestly his vocals are really not appealing. If you have problems with a persons comment take it somewhere else, like to the PM. Also at the time it was relevant when I was replying to the person who had recently posted. If you have a problem with that then do not go spamming up the thread. Though I would like to direct you to one point that all of what you hear on Cradle of Filth's CD's are almost never what you get in a live show vocal wisehe does not sound like the CD's at all. Very dissapointing. Now before I get hung by the moderators I will also stay on topic there are some songs that I do enjoy by Cradle of Filth, (hm now think about your response to mine, it means nothing), those songs being Queen of Winter, Throned, The Forests Whispers My Name, The Rape and Ruin of Angels (Hosannas in Extremis) and From The Cradle to Enslave. As well there are a few random catchy songs that they have that are worth a spin every once in awhile.
Maybe we should spend less time trying to seperate metal and more time talking about the bands, eh? Not to be rude but it looks like this is turning into a dog eat dog "RAH RAH RAH THIS BAND ISN'T DEATHMETAL RAHRAHRAH" fest.
The whole point to separating certain metal genres from other metal genres is to define each separate persons taste. We are not going to sit here and recommend bands like Darkthrone, Emperor, Burzum and Beherit (All Black Metal) when the person is asking for bands similar to Blind Guardian (Power Metal). The reason we separate metal genres from each other as such is because of each persons taste and preference and for the obvious our ears, they sound different because they are. It is not pivotal to know everything and be able to separate genre from genre but it sure helps you define your music taste and help others in the process. It also gains you a bit of respect because then you actually know what you are talking about which seems to be rare in the music industry. Plus not to be rude, we are talking about the bands. In fact I'm not even trying to be elitist in this matter I'm just trying correct errors that have been made which involve the bands mentioned. It currently is not an argument because the recipient of my last post has not answered my response so unless they take it rudely it is really just a discussion on bands and their respective genres.
DON'T CORRECT ME!!! I consider Cradle of Filth as death metal.
First of all we are going to correct you because when you state a fact that you think is right and is clearly wrong it makes you look like a fool in front of everybody else. We are only trying to help. But I have to tell you Cradle of Filth are not Death Metal I do not know where you get your information from but you are wrong. Cradle of Filth is a hybrid of heavy and gothic metal with the most annoying vocals I have ever heard. On a side note, they actually did play death metal at one point but this was long before they had even thought of playing the type of music they do now. Their death metal days were only released as demos which were incredibly hard to find and hardly worth looking into. Trust me on this Cradle of Filth is not death metal and I would not believe you if you told me you've listened to those demos.
And I know you'll say it, "Behemoth isn't death metal, It's black metal" .
Wrong actually Behemoth from the beginning of their career were black metal. They from expanding outwards slowly advanced their musical styles in which became a hybrid of both death and black metal which then brought them to what they play today pure death metal.
Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal my friend. Anything satanic is Black Metal to me :animeangr
Wrong again! In fact they lost their black metal touch right after they finished of with the album Stormblast everything there after is a undefined mess of gothic metal with a bit of satanic imagery to try and coax more fans in. Also, you are wrong, there is satanic music that is not Black Metal and there is Black Metal that is nowhere near satanic.
AND SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE THINK AS WELL. ERRR! (TWEAK) FRUSTRUATION!!
Those other people are wrong, don?t think with the herd think outside of it.
WHY AM I YELLING! Am I off topic? ...Sorry. I appologize for my rudeness. Forgive me :shifty: I'm not trying to be impolite. BTW. Bloodbath isn't really my cup of tea. I don't really know why. Although, I do like their one song "Outnumbering the Day".
Well if you haven?t listened to Nightmares Made Flesh then I suggest that as their first full length album really is crap.
I consider modern rock to be well.. modern. It could be a band from the nineties or a band from this year. When someone is talking about modern rock though, I'll usually assume they mean something pretty recent.[/COLOR']
I find that when people mention modern rock bands that what automatically pops into my head is the mid and late 90's rock bands, I just haven't seen much for rock bands afterwards that I would really consider modern rock. Maybe that's just me, but most of these bands now that are coming out I just do not see being what rock should sound like.
-
The band that I have seen listed in this thread I think should not be consider modern rock they just do not have the proper qualities as such to be a modern rock band. Most of the bands that I listen to that would be considered modern rock really had the height of their career in the mid and late 90?s and some of the bands listed just happened to release stuff in the 90?s that would be considered modern rock as well even though they have been around forever and a day. Nine Inch Nails Marilyn Manson Radiohead Smashing Pumpkins Tool David Bowie (Outside, Heathen) The Cure (Bloodflowers, self titled album) Godspeed! You Black Emperor A Silver Mt. Zion Shalabi Effect Queens of the Stone Age The Eagles of Death Metal Kyuss (Though can be considered metal due to it's intensity) And that's really all I can think of

Obviously there is metal, being one of THE biggest misunderstood music genres of the world but I am not here to talk about metal. Gothic Music is one of the biggest misunderstood genres and cultures on this earth. I would like to start of with the fact that the best definition for any 'true' goth is as followed; Goth: "Someone who sees beauty in something that has none to the casual observer". Ok so now that, that is out of the way I would like to address the actual music. Goth music is not the bands here listed as followed. Bands often confused for Gothic music The following is a list of bands that are often called goth, but they are not. [Note that metal and industrial are not even close to goth]: A Perfect Circle AFI The Birthday Massacre Cradle of Filth DImmu Borgir Evanescence funkerVOGT Good Charlotte Hatebreed HIM Insane Clown Posse Interpol Jack Off Jill KoRn Lacuna Coil Linkin Park Marilyn Manson Megadeth Mudvayne My Chemical Romance Nightwish Nine Inch Nails Nocturne Ramstein Rasputina Razed In Black Scarling Skinny Puppy Slipknot Tool VNV Nation :wumpscut: Within Temptation I'd also like to say that the information posted here was not originally done by me but fits this topic quite nicely and I feel that I could not have said it any better, thus I am using quotes though if I had to I could easily type out a post of my own that would be in contrast with this.
"Proto-Goth" Butn before we get into what goth was defined by, let's go into what it came out of. Though none of the bands mentioned are directly a part of the goth genre or culture, goth took heavy influence from glam-rock, psychedelic rock, and of course, punk rock. Even early metal had an impact on goth. Proto-Goth Bands: Alice Cooper Black Sabbath David Bowie The Doors The Germs Iggy & the Stooges The Misfits Mott the Hoople The New York Dolls Roxy Music The Sex Pistols T-Rex The Velvet Underground X
Now, Goth Rock music is defined by this.
Goth-Rock The core of Goth Music, obviously. Goth is often, but not always, soft, dark, and melodic. It emerged in the late 70's with Siouxsie & the Banshees(probably the most essential goth-rock band, though they got their start as a punk band), and Joy Division. It came directly from the punk-rock scene. Later, in '79, the band that was said to kick start the genre, Bauhaus released their big single, 'Bela Lugosi's Dead', this song is described as the key goth-rock song. In '80, the post-punk group The Cure, released the album 'Seventeen Seconds', which helped to move the genre even further. The Cure's album 'Pornography' is a very heavy goth album, and after that album, the band moved in and out of the genre constantly. In the early 80's the original English punk band, The Damned, broke away from their punk roots into goth-rock with 'The Black Album'. The Damned's next album, 'Phantasmagoria', was pure goth-rock, and lost them many of their punk followers. The Sisters of Mercy soon came to be and redefined goth(though singr Andrew Eldritch denies it). Their album 'Floodland' is a goth rock classic, with the hit 'This Corrosion'. From Australia came Nick Cave and the Birthday Party, who's album 'Junk Yard' is another classic. Bauhaus split into Love and Rockets, Peter Murphy solo, and Tones on Tail, and The Sisters of Mercy split into The Sisterhood and The Mission(UK). Classic goth-rock bands changed styles, though some bands such as Siouxsie & the Banshees, have stayed pretty close to the genre. And other new bands have emerged.
Goth-Rock Bands: 1919 And Also the Trees Attrition Bauhaus Birthday Party The Bolshoi Chameleons UK The Church Claire Voyant Cocteau Twins Coil Corpus Delecti The Creatures The Cure Current 93 The Damned Danse Society Death In June Depeche Mode Diamanda Galas Die Form Echo & the Bunnymen Fields of the Nephilim Ghost Danse Gitane Demone Human Drama Inkubus Sukkubus Joy Division Kill Sister Lestat Lords of the New Church Love & Rockets Love is Colder than Death Lycia March Violets Miranda Sex Garden The Mission (UK) Mortiis The New Creatures New Model Army Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Nosferatu Patricia Morrison Peter Murphy Play Dead Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Rosetta Stone The Shroud Siouxsie & the Banshees Sisters of Mercy Sopor Aeturnus Sunglasses After Dark Swans of Avon This Mortal Coil ThouShaltNot Tones on Tail Tuxedo Moon Two Witches Usherhouse Voltaire We also have.
Death-Rock Let me start by saying, death-rock and goth are two different genres, however, death-rock had a heavy influence on goth, and had common fans. Deathrock, also known as Death punk, is a term used to identify an offshoot of 1970s punk rock subculture in America. Despite similar genre names, Deathrock has very little in common with death metal. Deathrock should also not be confused with shock rock. Generally speaking, death rock first appeared on the American West Coast in the late 1970s, particularly in Los Angeles with bands such as .45 Grave and Christian Death. The style later appeared in cities across the United States and other areas of the world in the early to mid 1980s. In London, England, The Batcave was an early goth nightclub in London, England. As one of the most famous meeting points for early goths, it lent its name to the term Batcaver, used to describe old school goths. The club opened in July 1982. Originally specialising in New Wave and Glam rock, it later focused on Gothic music. There were mainly three bands performing there, namely Alien Sex Fiend, Sex Gang Children and Specimen. Their style was later betitled as Batcave(also essential to death-rock). As the modern goth scene has drifted further away from its punk roots with EBM, techno, fetishism, shock rock and nu metal, many new punk-influenced goth bands have (and continue) to appear in the underground as a reaction to this trend. Cinema Strange, The Brides, and The Vanishing are relatively popular examples of modern death rock bands.
And
Darkwave Darkwave is a relatively widely used term in the gothic-industrial subculture to describe a music genre, although it has no one single, agreed upon meaning. Its first usage appears to have been in the early 1990s, to describe a synthesizer-based variant of gothic rock developed largely in Germany. The most popular example of a darkwave band would be The Cruxshadows. Shortly afterwards, in the United States the term "darkwave" became associated with music produced on the Projekt records label because it was used as the name of their printed catalog. The Projekt label carried bands such as Lycia, black tape for a blue girl and Love Spirals Downwards, all characterized by slow, moody ethereal female vocals, with a strong Cocteau Twins influence (something like the later music of Dead Can Dance). This sense of the term darkwave would also apply to similar music from other labels carrying similar work (e.g. World Serpent and Middle Pillar). It's often suggested that the primary motivation for using the term "darkwave" is an attempt at gaining some distance from these other categories that are regarded as too cliched, over-exposed, or pass
If you would like a list of music from any of these two genres I could easily make one up for those who are curious. But for now I will keep the post length down.

Ok so I went to see the movie Ice Harvest tonight. There was a mere ten people in the actual theater itself. It was incredibly empty despite the fact that it was opening weekend for it (at least I believe so, I hope I wasn't misinformed I never really actually bothered to check it) and that it was given an unsual high rating in the newspaper for such a low budget film. Seeing all these facts presented together made me very confused and nervous on the fact that I may have been waisting my time on a movie that was wrongfully graded. Three words; I loved it. It was utterly depressing, there was barely a high note in it. Even the comedy that had been displayed only added to the empty void that it created. The whole movie was a bleak landscape within an urban setting in the town of Wichita Falls. The weather was cold and so much darkness was prevalent and even in the early hours of morning it would not leave on a Christmas Eve no less. The actors were of a great cast. John Cusack being one of my favorite actors put on an excellent performance. His twelve hours of murder, despair, drunkenness, pain, misunderstanding, agony and unfaithfulness to any of his friends through lack of trust was just really well done and even his love interest was un-trustworthy in his mind. Billy-Bob Thorton had his high moments, though in most recent years had been in some comedy movies, he was very serious in this movie and did not lighten the mood at all he in fact was very cold hearted. He really did shine though the spotlight was taken by John Cusack. A delightful surprise, the only high note to the movie, was the short sighted antics and drunkeness, that actually made me laugh, of Oliver Platt. Being John Cusack's drinking buddy in the film just added the only surprise that this movie gave me as for being delightful and though only a very minor role he still had his own time to act in the movie. Oh did I forget to mention the whole point to this movie was that John Cusack and Billy-Bob Thorton stole $2,147,000 from the Kansas City boss (Randy Quaid) and were trying to start a new life somewhere warm and far, far away. But they had many unlucky twists to deal with through the duration of their adventure. All in all I do not really want to give away what happened, though I doubt most of the people here haven't seen it (I did not see it advertised very much). I just thought it was excellent and deserves an A. Also if you can get past the one gratuitous violent scene and the gratuitous sexual scenes it was quite an excellent movie. I thought the last scene of the movie was very clever as well (in just how they added it in there), including the quote John Cusack "Hey Buddy" Oliver Platt "Where Are We?" John Cusack "We're in Heaven." Oliver Platt "Really? Do they have pancackes here?" John Cusack "Sure. They have whatever you want." Oliver Platt *falls back asleep in the back of the car from a hangover* This movie totally deserves an A. Despite then what more the half the critics say, it was just so bloody depressing.
