Well, currently I play Guild Wars. Looking forward to GW2. But for others, I'm probably going to try Warhammer, though it looks like a WOW rip off. And if it IS a WOW rip off, I'll be very dissapointed. I hate grind fests that center around killing 10 monsters for a quest and doing so many level ups.
Wow, if you think 10 monsters is a grindfest, or WoW in general as a grindfest, then you obviously haven't really touched asian MMO's, namely MapleStory, and from I heard of Final Fantasy XII, and Ragnarok Online.

Oh, God. On SSBM, me and my friends sometimes piss off our other friends (well, the other one or two players) by randomly pausing the game and laughing at the poses and positions our fighters happened to be in. I can't believe we were rofl'ing over it all, zooming, etc. for I think like half an hour total. I really hope they have a much better screenshot'ing mode. I hated Melee's a lot.
Agh, I haven't gotten either yet, and I need something to play on my malnurished DS! Not that there aren't any good games, just that I don't have any money... Also, my gamer friends at school keep on showing me their rare events Pokemon, which just gets me pumped up more...
Yeah really. I was so glad one of my college classmates traded me an Egg with a Cranidos!! I can't wait for it to be hatched, it's almost there! xO RHAWR. Okay. I just finished the second Gym Leader. lol So far the game's been freaking easy. It'd better get more challenging. And I HATE the fact that I can't see my character's location on the map in the PokeDex entries. =__= Yah! I'm totally loving my Grass starter, with Curse! >:] EDIT - Oh, snap, my Cranidos hatched today and I've been totally serving Rapidash with Rock Tomb. Even better, they've provided great training given that they were 5 or so levels higher than my cute little Deimos. >x] Now he's already up to level 12.
Heh, if give one a nickname I tend to feel somehow obligated to give the rest of them clever nicknames.
Clever? As in naming them with nicknames related to how they look/what they are? xDD I like finding names that don't necessarily correlate but still fit well. My attack Deoxys is named Miasma and I've always named my Blastoise Boomer since the Blue Version, and my Nidoking, Raven. xD

*sigh* Damn, wow. This is my first post in a year or so. Well, anyways, back to business. I personally am more psyched about these games than when I started talking about it so long ago. I don't get my college refund money until like, two Mondays from now, and I'll DEFINITELY run to the game store to grab Pearl Version. WiFi, Day & Night elements (you know, a tad bit more realism is nice for once 9_9), etc. I'm just too damn excited to say much other than I'm totally going to go for the Grass-type starter. I just wish they had a bit more monster/dragon-looking Pokemon. Yeah I know there are new ones, and *some* look real good actually. I just missed the more themed-looking Pokemon like there was in R/B/Y & G/S/C. Personally, I think the Pokemon designs now feel too random.

AWESOME. O: I can't WAIT. ^u^ I'm so glad they jacked up the roster. I REALLY DO hope they add some new Pokemon, *especially* because of the new series. And some actual awesome ones, and not the ones constantly advertised ¬_¬ Blaziken would just be hardcore. O: Damn I can see it now. Fighting like Falco only leaving burns behind like Ness's PK Fire. *droool*
Heres the truth. Their really are no exact clones of chacters in SSB they are chacters with similar movesets but totally diffrent stats. For instance Pichu is much faster than pikachu and has a stronger B^ move. Jigglypuff is certainly not a bad chacter its just people never took the time to use her since shes well.....jigglypuff. She and kirby are the only ones with superior extended jumps.Making her not complelty useless. Also Marth and Roy are nothing alike Roy is alot more power oriented than Marth. Despite this being said I wouldnt mind Pichu or Dr Mario taken out they arent exact clones but I rather have complelty diffrent chacters like Pit and MedaKnight take their place.I also want Ganondorf with a sword. It was a little strange using him without one[/COLOR'].
Agreed there. Though I don't consider floating around that great. D: Jigglypuff almost has the same hand-to-hand combat moves as Kirby, and can put opponents to sleep. THAT'S IT. And that one KO move but I'd rather not even waste my time with it. Sure it adds more variety (no, not you Jigglypuff, now go rot somewhere), but Pichu is just...ugh. Hardly anyone uses him and a lot of his attacks hurt him anyway. And to me, in a fighting game, it's not that there's crappy characters, it's how you play them. *nodnod* I can easily win with something like Jigglypuff or Pichu, but I don't because well...they're not much fun to use. Ganondorf all the way. O:

I just wish they'd get rid of that damn Jigglypuff!! SERIOUSLY. It's a boring fighter, and that KO attack it does is stupid and hard to pull off anyways, and I'd rather play as Pikachu or better yet, Mewtwo. They shouldn't even have Pichu. It's a complete waste of a fighter. They could've had Blastoise or something (who could fight like Bowser, and Hydro Pump can be like a charged attack like Samus's gun). *sigh* ...I really hope they have better Pokemon this time. And I'm really tired of seeing the same old faces. As for the levels, I don't mind anything at all, I'll fight just about anywhere.

Y'know what? It can happen between Cloud and Tifa. I believe in lifelong trials and friendship. To me that's a foundation to a real relationship. I've seen that the truth isn't always obvious. Love is something that always has to develop over time and trying situations. Think about what Tifa went through WITH Cloud. I've had people do that to me, even just friends. I'd be the Tifa in their lives but they still overlooked me and walked away. Plus Tifa is rather selfless. Whereas Aerith was all like, "Oh save me Cloud! Quit being stupid!" at least that's what it reminded me of especially I get disappointed in all these RPGs who have the main character go after, sooner or later, the "innocent" and stupidly helpless damsel in distress that probably can't even tie her bootlaces without having her damn bodyguard nearby. I've seen the same crap being pulled off in Grandia II, Tales of Symphonia, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy VIII. The ones that aren't helpless and stupid, and obviously care about the hero, get pushed aside. I can relate to Tifa. At least she's not pushy

JESSE AND JAMES. >xO Okay, seriously. GSC features and FR/LG graphics. All mixed together. Like, now. That would be hardcore. And I wish the 3D Pokemon games were developed by Level-5 or some other similar developer. The cheap plastic toy and hyper-deformed look just doesn't cut it. I want to eat my cat. It's an extreme insult to the series and the fun factor. And FFVII's character grapics looked less deformed compared to this mess.

*makes her first post in probably a year* Wii. Hmm. One syllable is all it needs. XBOX 360 is six; Playstation 3 is like, four...and even PS3 can be anal. Most of all, what the most important thing is, is the games. It's been said time after time after time for many years. I'm getting sick of seeing nothing but "realistic" 3D graphics, and crappy graphics that are the opposite. Take Legend of Mana and Dragon Quest VIII for example. That stuff is amazing. That's what I wanna see more of; and more RPGs on a Nintendo console, like back in the day when the SNES was THE console to have. Whatever console is coming out I don't give what it is or who it's from, I just want to have fun

This game is hardcore. One of the best "new" RPG games to ever grace the PS2. I bought this b**** in 2003 and I'm still nowhere near sick of it, and yes I have been playing it since...it's just that I can always find something good about the game no matter what. Although Monica's wardrobe is severly lacking, Max's makes up for it. I really wish Max could wear miner's goggles instead of that stupid Explorer's Helmet. Goggles would've been a fantastic item to buy in the Gundora Workshop. The graphics, music, and artwork REALLY, REALLY play a large part in bringing me back, in addition to the extreme gameplay. I like games where you can change the way your characters look, because you'll be staring at them for hours on end and it's refreshing to be able to alter their appearance. My largest complaint is that Max only has
two ACTUAL Legendary Weapons, and I won't include that sh**ty Big Bucks Hammer or whatever it's called. And here Monica has like six!! The Chronicle II is rockhardcore lol.
I really hate Monica's Armband weapon. Building it up takes forever and it's just weak to me, and I can't fire enough normal effective shots like I can Max's. So I end up buying a Name Change Ticket with medals and changing her current armlet to a 5-Star Armlet, lmao.
An evangelion avatar and banner with asuka and unit 2 in it. Movie version of unit 2 please. :animeswea
Movie version? I haven't seen the movies so I don't know what the difference is between the two. Try providing a good image at least until I can manage to find one.

If you want an actual LONG RPG...and trust me on this...play Dragon Warrior VII. I haven't played it in a long time, but I know for a fact that I'm not off Disc 1, and it's clocked at 100-hours or something. And yes, I have a bad habit of leaving my game on for God knows how long, but it doesn't happen often at all, so the 100-something hours (or 90-something) is mostly the actual game part. But I love RPGs that are literally long. I too often hear "this game can be clocked at about 60-70 hours!" Wait, are you including the sidequests? If so, shut up.

Alright, I found some more new Pokemon: http://serebii.net/diamondpearl/pokemon.shtml Rukario, oh my gosh lol. It's a Steel-Fighting!!! *dies* YES! I've always wanted a unique physical Fighting-type. And Sneasel's evolution looks kinda cool kinda retarded lol. But good chances that I'll train one anyway. The pre-evolutions can go to hell lol. I mean, it's like one of them has a wooden diaper. O_o; And oh my God, it's got an anus. o_o

The sh**tiest game I had ever played...hm... ...This's going to be a hard one, because a lot of games, of course, were buggy and low-quality graphics and came from the 80's-early 90's era, and some that may be called off as crappy may just simply be a challenging game. ...I'd have to say Super Pitfall for the NES. Yeah, I liked the exploration and graphics, but good God, I couldn't jump worth sh**. And landing like, 4-5 feet KILLED me. UGH! I guess height is different in video games. >_O Three actual feet (or inches) in real life can be like, 30-50+ in the damn game, and I mean by where the character actually is in the game, not literally right off the screen. See what I mean? Ok whatever. And I think Generic stated somewhere in this lengthy thread Super Pitfall also. I hated jumping the hell around for invisible key items, and my gun bullets disappeared after three inches, which resulted in risking my life to actually kill the enemy without running into them.
When I was younger however there was one great addictive game in the form of Pokémon Blue[/B'], I remember dedicating at least 19 hours to it in a single day and still enjoy to odd Pokémon related romp with the new games, although Sapphire was a slight bit of a disappointment. I think Pokémon was one of those games that everyone got addicted to quickly because there was that element of singular and yet co-operative play to it...
I'm still pretty damn addictive to the series to this day, although I didn't get into it until 2000-2002. I don't think I'll ever get sick of the series (except for the long and grueling training, but patience is a virtue, and EV training sure as all hell pays off)! There's just something about collecting and training and breeding monsters in a lighthearted 2D RPG (and it's all well delivered) that makes it irresistable and more importantly, simply fun. And no they're not all "fuzzy little balls of cute". And the ones that are generally suck anyway. XD A second game/series that got me hooked was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. The gameplay had such a nice learning curve (and it helped that I had played the PSOne game before lol). Everytime I'd save my game (usually after a battle and BSing around in the menus...I love menus XD), I'd think, "Whoa, it's been almost an hour already?" I had bought this game for week-long trip and yeah, I got the "Just One More Hour Syndrome" lol. Both Pokemon and FFTA I play as much as my situation would allow, whether it be in the bathroom or in bed, or on the road, lol. XP

Gaming Cartoony RPGs (I.E. Phantom Brave, Shining Tears etc.)
Erika replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
Well, I wouldn't really label cel-shading as "cartoony". I don't know, as rabid lover of such graphics, I feel like they're being criticized everytime someone states it as "cartoony". I guess it's just me. Anyways, DC2 IS awesome. Generic pretty much summed it up. That game is so addicting and pleasing to the eyes and ears that it's ridiculous. But what's even more ridiculous is that there's not really enough games like that. *sob* EDIT: Simply don't worry about the reviews and just RENT the games you're interested in. ^_^ Simple advice for the fickle gamer. :p -
WHAT THE HELL?! Why do people have to go on a damn tangent about FFVII like that?? I like it and everything, but holy hell!! That's like, going a bit far, isn't it? O_O; [/end of spaz rant]
As for Zelos, he's a great character as well. Most of his behavior just hides how much he actually cares about other people. *again, just my opinion so don't take it personally*
I agree wholeheartedly with Llyod also. I love the way he handles two swords, and he handles them well. And Zelos is just a great change of pace. He's such an awesome character. A real breath of fresh air. A magic-using, womanizing swordsman that doesn't spread his true self around all the time (which would result in predictability, in a sense lol). But it disappointed me when he seemed to overlook Sheena in a lot of cases. You figured he would be on her tail all the time. XDD Ah well.

Hmm....yeah I'd have to agree with Baron on the whole hardcore deal. I'm just too impatient to take any crazy challenges. The hardest task that I've ever accomplished...hmm...I need to seperate it from a most frusterating gaming moment: I think it'd have to be passing the Test of Courage in Star Fox Adventures (I did it in the 10th try), and there's a lot of sh** that was hard to do in Rare's past games but I managed to do. :-p So yeah, I'll cram em all into one category.

*falls to her knees* Argh! I feel bad for not being here for so long! >_

Ok, ok. Who the hell is Vaga?! I definitely know you'll luff me forever and ever if I draw this for you, and I will, but I need a picture to go by first! @_@

Oh God lol. Dragon Warrior pissed me off horribly. Chrystalis was THE game for me. XDD The game that got me into everything was just...hm. I think it was just the SNES. Period. That console was my god, and still is, along with the handhelds. Games, ANY game on there, mostly Zelda: ALttP, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger pulled me into it all. Ahhh...I'm glad I have those games too. ^_^
Ow, my spine.
XDD Lol! Ok, Bombu is the winner. I laugh at the most random things. =p Ok, shoot.
