Chrono Break
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Well that was written in March. Even back that it wasn't a super reliable rumor.
Yeah, I know. I'm not exactly looking for anything reliable, and when I say recent, I mean this year, or around this time in general. I'm just looking for any kind of information, even if it isn't much. And I tried changing the title of the thread, just to be more specific. I'm not one to get my hopes up, but just by turning Chrono Chross inside out, I'm sure there's bound to be an actual third Chrono. The 'ending' blew chunks, leaving me in a pile of "Is that it?" So, in all, my expectations are high, but nowhere near the stratosphere.

    Chrono Break

I don't feel stupid at all, or embarrassed, really. I was actually hoping someone would tell me about those screenshots. I was wondering why they looked so familiar. Besides, I don't care much for April Fool's Day, and I never search closed threads. So if you're laughing at me, good for you. I hope I've made your day. Well, whatever the case, I'm not stopping there. I'm still looking for details on this game. Any kind of details. That's the whole point of this. So thanks, Sem and Des, for pointing this out here. And I'm also well aware it's still a rumor. I guess the developers wanna make it a "surprise" or something. God, I hate the elusive. But there's no doubt in my mind that the Chrono series will continue. I don't see why they assume it's a rumor, but I'll just keep it at that for now. http://ps2.ign.com/articles/388/388544p4.html You can see this chunk at the bottom of the page. Nothing exclusive or anything to jump on, but it's recent, plain and simple.
  3. I beat this game last week. To tell y'all the truth, I was disappointed. Not much of an ending, I can say that. When I played my game again,
I got Ritz and Babus in my party after some new missions. I think it's stupid that Ritz is a Human but can learn only take on Viera jobs. I figured since she was a Human, she's be able to become a Ninja or something. I think it's because she's a girl and hung out with a Viera clan that she learned only Viera jobs. Oh, well. I never liked Ritz to begin with anyways. Boring. And Babus is great. A Runeseeker? I wonder if there's anyway my clan can learn Expert jobs, too! That kind of surprised me. An unobtainable job. Huh.
Well, now that I'm here, might as well update my Clan. Name: Clan Chronos Level/Title: Lv. 49/Warmaster Missions Completed: 190 Freed Areas: 9 (I've been slacking off in this area) Clan Members Lv. 33 Marche: Paladin w/Fighter Tech
Lv. 31 Babus: Runeseeker w/Item
Lv. 31 Human Ninja w/Steal Lv. 30 Viera Summoner w/White Magic
Lv. 29 Ritz: Red Mage w/Lunge Tech
Lv. 29 Moogle Thief w/Gunmanship Lv. 29 Viera Assassin w/Aim Lv. 29 Nu Mou Alchemist w/Black Magic Lv. 28 Bangaa Tempest w/Item Lv. 27 Bangaa White Monk w/Item Lv. 27 Human Illusionist w/White Magic Lv. 27 Human Blue Mage w/Item Lv. 27 Montblanc: Time Mage w/Black Magic Lv. 26 Bangaa Dragoon w/Spellblade Tech Lv. 18 Nu Mou Morpher w/Item Lv. 18 Human Hunter w/Item Yeah, my last two I hardly ever use. My Moogle Thief was a Gunner, and now I'm teaching him some Thief abilities so he can become a Juggler and take on a dispatch mission. Damn, I hate those! I really like the Morpher, it's fun to control monsters and take their souls. But it would be nifty if they can actually take on their forms. But for some reason, just of late, no battles have called for a Morpher/Hunter. Most of the missions I've finished mainly had no monsters, or consisted of ones I already had taken care of. And catching monsters and "feeding" them is just...well, idiotically, stupidly, and ridiculously...stupid! I have a Red Dragon that loves me to pieces, but that's pretty much it! Nothing else. All I need to do is just take their souls and release them. No other purpose I see, really. There doesn't even need to be a monster farm! Morphers can just take their souls right on the battlefield! I have no idea what the game designers were thinking when they came up with this stupid Monster Farm idea. :cross: Somewhat original, yes. Variety, yes. Stupid, YES! >.O
  4. Actually, the inscription on the tombstone in Elfland was never in the original Final Fantasy. Remember, these are the remade versions of FF and FFII, so there are bound to be some minor additions that weren't there to begin with. And as for The Legend of Zelda, it was released in 1987. In NA or Japan, I'm unsure. Final Fantasy was released in 1988/89, again unsure of NA or Japan, but it was released in either of those countries that fateful year. Besides, I think it's great that Square poked fun at the overrated Link. EDIT: Uhmmm, it's been a while, yo. Someone needs to either 1) close this thread because it's pointless and the question's been answered or 2) simply change the name to FF Origins, since I don't see any other thread discussing this great game. I'll start up a topic as soon as someone deals with this.
  5.
Originally posted by Shinmaru I always wanted to play Uniracers
Uh...Uniracers? What'd hell is that? Huh...never heard of it. Anyways, I think someone should post a thread on the Good 'ol NES games. We're losing contact! Quick--get 'em to the ER! *sigh* I beat Lufia II about a month ago (great ending, by the way), and started on the first Lufia (before, in the past four years, I've been playing them on my brother's emulators, but never actually got into them) and got the sailing boat just the other week. I can now sail the seas, but yesterday, when I stayed home from school due to a chest flu, all the files got erased. I reset the console, blew on the cartridge, but realized that when I turned it back on it was permanent. Nooooooooo!!! It's a hard game! I got so far! Why me...why ME? Ugh. Such a case happened a lot when I played Zelda, but it was just a bit dirty and the files came back after blowing on the cartridge. This time, on my Lufia game, everything was totally gone! Stupid memory pak!! It's so friggin' worn out...it totally got me raging mad! That's why I'm glad we have memory cards now. Anyways, there's a lot I love about Earthbound. It's...weird, in a good way. Mr. Saturn...the weird-a** tour band, buying wet towels and meadering in the desert. 'First time I actually played a game where your characters can die of sunstroke! :cross: I mean, c'mon here! This's one of the coolest games made! I don't know in any other games where possessed coffee cups, records, gas pumps and people with blue faces started chasing you down. That had always bothered me. :nervous: And Fourside? Crazy town. Especially when it gets 'reversed.' I swear the designers were on something. *still thinks of Boogerman* God, that game was just...well...awesome. It was fun, though. I remember whenever the super-hero came on the screen (your character), he picked his nose, pointed his finger up in exclamation, and said "Booger!" in a voice filled with justice and honor. The Lost Vikings II was my favorite, as well *recalls Olaf's Fart Hover ability*. My all-time favorite platformers, and still is, are the Mega Man games. Not the NES ones, but the SNES and PSOne games. Just the other day, my friend had an XBOX modified with an SNES emulator. And I grabbed the controller (actually, it was my first time with an XBOX), and after getting used to the...well..."unique" controller design, I started playing Mega Man X like nobody's business. Really, by the time an hour and half passed, I couldn't play anything else for the rest of the day. :cross: Damn, those games really take a chunk out of your soul...
  6. Uhmmm... Sounds like a crazy person's idea of GTA. I would post a gaming idea, given that's the closest thing that I wanna do later in life, but I can't right now--it'd take me too long! ~_~'

  8. For the sake of all Chrono fandom, I have decided to start a thread regarding Chrono Break, the third 'rumored' installment in the Chrono series. I finally found out tiny bits of the game. Here's what I've found so far http://www.rpgamer.com/games/chrono/break/break.html http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2001/1238.html And I attached a gorgeous screenshot of what appears to be background graphics (gah...I miss pre-rendered backgrounds...) Of course, using the link, you can also view the other screenshots , but I decided to add this one in case people are too lazy to click on the link. Hah! Kidding. I placed it here so it'd be easier to access...and it looks awesome! It appears that Chrono Break will be released in Japan soon, but I still need to find out more, just to make sure.
  9. I love watching animations. Just because a certain game is made into a movie, doesn't mean the fans will stoop down to fractured loyalty. Gamers will always be gamers, and movie-goers will always be movie-goers. Screw the critics! I think an animated trilogy would be great. Instead of deciding between live action or animation, how about CG? I remember the commercials for the GBC Zelda games. I remember thinking: "Damn, that's great animation! Looks like it would be a great movie series or something!" But, that's just my opinion. :twitch:
  10. Been living in green and rainy N Oregon, in Hood River Valley, all my 18 years. It's gorgeous. But as you head east towards the neighboring town of The Dalles, it gets pretty dry and deserty. Our town is in a valley right smack by the Columbia River. It's mostly a tourist attraction, and a bit expensive to live here. Nearby is Mt. Hood, where people snowboard and ski. And it's usually windy here, too. Hood River is fourth in the world for the best place to windsurf and kiteboard. Also, in contrast, the Columbia falls in about third or fourth as the most polluted river in the U.S./world (can't remember which). Also, in Umatilla (about an hour's drive east from here) is the nation's fourth largest weapon storage. And Oregon's also the nation's least employed state. And about a third of our high school is obssessed with video games and anime. Mostly sports, though, and skateboarding. We also have a sister city in Japan: Saruda. Our foreign exchange students come from there. Lots of orchards. 3/4 of the world's pears come from Hood River's orchards. And The Dalles (about 20 miles away) is gaming heaven for me. They have a Wal*Mart, K*Mart, Fred Meyer, Blockbuster, and a new/used game shop called Gameopoly. There is where I buy stuff I can't find in stores. If I can't find it here, I go to Portland...and I garuntee you almost every single damn anime and video game you can imagine in N America is right there in Portland (about 65 miles west). I'm still unsure, but I think they also have a store including imports. So yeah, the only downside to Hood River is the windsurfers (boardheads) and all the friggin' hispanics. GOD it's so hard to find a job here!
  11.
Originally posted by Black_Phoenix And now, the downsides. The font for your name in the lower-left corner is too compressed, and too dark.
Exactly, Phoenix. It describes the way I am. The other fonts represent delicacy and humor. I'm just starting to do symbolic art, on PC and off. Anima, the FFX aeon, represents pain and captivity...restraint. The two Excels represent me: random, funny, and sometimes dark (the evil claw Excel). And I do get annoying and I can tell some ppl just want to shoot me (note the got-shot-in-the-forehead-by-Lord-Illapallazo Excel on the left). I've been in those situations when I like somebody, and I let them know by irritating them (by just being playful). The Excel on the right represents my short-temper, while still maintaining the Excel form (meaning, 'I'm still me, but watch it...I can get ugly'). I used the smudge tool a lot, not only because I liked it, but it satisfied the way I had planned the background. It's also supposed to connect all three images in a subtle but prominent way. I also decided to make the center of the background light-colored instead of another dark color, too, just to say that I'm not one of those depressed poet-people. Tom, spanx for pointing out the 'milk' quote being a bit cut off...I didn't notice it 'til now. Since I have art class at the end of the day, I'll definitely fix it! Also, I need to remake the bullet-in-forehead Excel image to include Lord Illy. And for the quote, I think ppl should drink their milk. It makes your bones stronger, it's comes in a variety of flavors, and it's the best beverage known to man. And the Prozac thing--it basically means lighten up, even if you have to take happy pills, lol. This world is such a great place to live in, isn't it? So yeah, I'll definitely fix my banner up, but nothing drastic. Thanx for your comments!
  12. Oh, yeah. The SNES is my third fave console, next to the SP, just because of the graphics. I totally grew up on Nintendo (Chrystalis...), then came the SNES, in which my older brother got for Christmas back in '93. I always watched him play it. Chrono Trigger is my ultimate fave. I wasn't too big on RPGs back then, but when I heard my brother in his room playing a game called "Chrono Trigger" that he had rented (this was about '96-'97, when SNES games were still rentable in our town). Of course, I was curious, and since I always played platformers, I didn't know what an RPG was, except for Ultima and Dragon Warrior. Then, later on, I took my allowance and rented CT for about a week. That fateful day, my friends, started everything. I played it for two days straight (a first for me then, but later on, the scenario played again when I played FFIX). CT and FFVII got me into the RPG world at an alarming rate. But there's some more awesome SNES games that I loved playing oh-so-long ago. Most have already been mentioned, but who cares? My most memorable moments when playing SNES (I still play it) was the game's music. So when I think of SNES, I think of SoulBlazer and Super Street Fighter Turbo (strange...whenever Ryu shoots out a Ki blast, it sounds like he's saying "A bull-sh**!"). Yes, Earthworm Jim is an awesome character and game! I have an Earthworm Jim action figure on my shelf right now...'can't believe they still make those things... Right now, I the SNES RPG's I own are: Breath of Fire, Lufia and Lufia II, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Paladin's Quest, the Zelda game and SoulBlazer (luv it). Yes. But both Lufia games costed me a bundle. Now all I have to do is get FFII at the pawn shop... My fave platformer is Super Metroid, but since it's my brother's, and he's in college, I can't play it! We've had it since it came out in '94. Me and my brother love the SNES. His fave game is ActRaiser, too. I never got into it. Equinox pissed me off...hard...then there's Super Mario RPG... Earthbound is just simply great. In the ending credits, Ness's dad was labelled as the phone you used a lot in the game! That totally cracked me up. Wait! Has anyone played Boogerman and The Lost Vikings?? Now those are classics! And Kirby Super Star? I never stopped playing the Treasure-Hunting adventure. Argh! *kicks Shinmaru in the head*

  14. When I was bewteen 3 and 5 years old, the toys I played with the most, with my sister, were Barbies, G.I. Joes, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and Care Bears. Then came the SNES.

  17.
Originally posted by Ben Holiday Like the costume changes I don't have any desire to dress up a trio of girls in various risque clothing but I've always enjoyed rpg's with characters who's looks change when you upgrade armor and weapons. The job system will also be a nice returning feature anything that adds more depth and longetivity to the gameplay in my opinion is a good thing.
Uhm...*coffcoff* this isn't a game based on 'fan service' and 'dress-up.' Look at it this way--how would you like it if Rikku or Paine were Dark Knights, but they still looked the same; it wouldn't really tie in with the Job system, now, would it? In any case, as for the fan service...thing...I'm pretty sure Spira is hot as hell, seeing as it is *mostly* tropical, and the only, supposedly, cold spot there is would be Mount Gagazet. I'm just judging the climate by the way people dress in the game, and their habits i.e. water sports. As my point, I assume they 'normally' dress like that because of the climate. But that's within the game, so otherwise, I'm sure it's somewhat fan service, but not fan service-based. To be honest, I think their Jobs bring about really creative outfits. I mean, as an artist myself in a somewhat similar category, the character design is overwhelming. I wouldn't ever think of coming up with such great designs for clothing. But, I'm sure it depends on the player's frame of mind whether or not they're gonna play the game for the fan service (gosh, why don't they just call it 'man service'?)~_~...which, in my opinion, closely resembles an uneducated Neanderthal. Still, I think the character design is excellent. That's about all I can say with the game. And I'm not even going to comment much on the singing, but I doubt the staff wanted it to resemble American culture, so I'm not worried.
  18. I'm 18 and a high school senior, and I just got into the deal last summer. I just like the games and merchandise. And the only card game I play is Magic: The Gathering. I hate it, though, whenever Pokemon's mentioned, ppl think of Pikachu and half-pint brats. I mean, lookit Houndoom and Deoxys. That Deoxys actually have me a few goosebumps. My mom got me a stupid Pikachu and Scyther T-shirt at a yard sale the other month and I threw them away. C'mon here. I'm not a crazed-psycho-gotta-have-it fifth grader that has to have the Pokemon hats, Pokemon bath towels, Pokemon Pop Tarts and Pokemon clothes. I collect plushies (I have a little mob of Ham-Hams and Kittys and old Care Bears from my younger years), so I'd love to get plush Pokemon. Or at least one giant plushie. Pokemon is a game, and I love games, and Pokemon happens to be a good series within its own right. There we go. Logically, I just don't see how Pokemon depends on your age. It's just a game, like any other such as Final Fantasy or Street Fighter, and I don't see why people *have* to get over it. (...mwehe...magic ability...)

  21. Our school spirit week is happening right now. Ppl kept telling me "Class Color Day is over!" and since I wear a lot of dark colors, and the senior color is black o_O sometimes there are moments where I would love to introduce my foot to someone's fat yap. We have an great event (at the end of Spirit Week, this Friday) call Air Guitar. Each grade (including the school faculty) performs a skit/musical to be judged in the school gym. Let's just say it's like American Idol gone wrong, and there's multiple persons participating. It's usually just simply amusing as hell. The winners are generally the seniors or the school staff. Last year the senior class did a James Bond and Men in Tights act, it was great! And couple of years ago the staff did "The Wall." We also get out early for our high school's Homecoming Parade, but none others in our county get out early. Sucks for them. And there's a Hall Decorating contest that starts the beginning of the week. We have a hall for each of the grades in our school i.e. freshmen hall, sophomore hall, etc. and they get judged by the end of the week. And UGH!! The freshmen Disney-themed their hall! Good GOD! :wow: as if we NEED that! I don't give an owl's twinkie about dressing up. Just yesterday my sister cosplayed as Lara Croft and went to school like that (only without the guns, unluckily) just to throw everybody off. It was great. I tried talking her into stuffing a pillow in her shirt, but she said no. So she went to school as a "deflated" Lara Croft. Last night our school held a big bonfire. It was great. Our school band played some great rock music, too, and during lunch yesterday, one of my friends won a pie-eating contest. The Spirit Week events at our school are actually pretty fun, as long as you avoid the "School Spirit" crap, you'd have a total field day.
  22. Evolution? All I know is that it's a bunch of bullsh** theories made up by a flock of cocknbull, coke-sniffing "scientists". So, I guess we all came from a worm or turd-tossing, bug-sucking monkeys. That makes me feel so enlightened. The only reason monkeys are the way they are now is because they were TRAINED to be like that. You don't see women on all fours with kids hanging off their backs, d'you?

  24. How about the real deal? Most of those are underrated, but someday I will visit those old bars and inns. I get frightened at the thought of the unknown, but at the same time, I wanna check it out for myself. I love hearing about ghosts, darkness and haunted tunnels. Who knows? Maybe I'll get clawed by an angry demon.

To be honest, that's the funniest line I've ever heard. I say random things when I lose my train of thought i.e. when I'm making an observation, or teasing my sister. Sometimes I call her a handicapped monkey. When I observe things, mostly people, I tell my friend (or friends) what's on my mind. One time, while I was at a pizza pool party (I don't swim, but I like pizza) and me, three of my friends and my sister were eating with me, I saw a girl with swimming suit and shorts, and I pointed out that the shorts looked like an orange Wal-Mart sack. Strange, but that's how I think. I don't have very many random lines to belt out, except "Blarg", and "Sunuva-(insert random word)." The only thing random about me is the names I call people.
