*laughs hard at Shin's last comment* XDD I have TWO favorite characters, as both are freakishly accurate in representing me as a whole: Rikku, from FFX/X-2 and Sheena, from Tales of Symphonia. I have Rikku's energy level and retardedness, and I can get annoying (usually when I'm happy). Although she's three times as outgoing and cheerleader-y than I am, we're both kids at heart, and love hopping around and acting kiddy. Sheena, on the other hand, is a bit reclusive/elusive. We're both somewhat too proud to seek help, but when we do we feel guilty about it. Somewhat hard shell and soft center.. :( And both my favorite characters have neat outfits, lol. ...Is it me or are the characters I grow fond of in RPGs overlooked assassins and thieves? :p

Advice please (mature responses only please)

I'm with Lincoln on this 100%, lol. You can't let your emotions override your judgement. Even if he's family in your eyes to everyone else he's...what "L" just mentioned. :( And yes, I have put myself in the situation ( I have a brother, too). Nobody will learn if you go too soft on them. $300 is still a lot of money, well, to me at least. But it's the principle behind it, even if it were a few bucks. And yeah, what makes it even less justifiable is that he has done it before. Whatever you decide, good luck with it. :3 -
Yaaaay! All hail Erica! Well, no, lol. Anyways, yeah. My turn. YES, MY turn, lol. Ok, here's a photo of my sister I took. Knock yourselves out. (I have a feeling I'm gonna get a stomachache from this one.) The sequel to The Other Sister.

Even though I plan on buying it, I couldn't resist and nabbed the ROM for it, just for the hell of it. :p So far when you first enter you bedroom, you have an orange GCN instead of blue. And the Pokemon movers downstairs are Vigoroth instead of Machoke. I haven't started the game as a boy yet, because I think the color of the bedroom rug/desk chair/clock changes depending on the gender you picked, because mine're all purple. I dunno if it even holds true for Sa/Ru. I love both Groudon and Kyogre, so I'm not really siding, lol. I don't think one or the other'll win. I'm sure Rayquaza's gonna have a say in the storyline this time. Kinda neat though, because Crystal was about the three legendary dogs, and now Emerald's about that psycho-dragon that has been sleeping above the clouds for only God knows how long. :whoops: Oh, and the items and whatnot have pictures just like in FireRed and LeafGreen, which I think is cool. I've always wanted to know what the Acro and Mach Bikes looked like. :p And in Litteroot Town, there's a girl guarding the exit to Route 101 and the boy's inside your rival's house. o_0 The sign that appears on your screen when you enter an area is all shiny and wooden-like, which is pretty cute. ^_^

Ok, I should've put this up before Pearl/Diamond but whatever. :p Anywho, I've decided to clear up the deal with Emerald Version for the sake of the uninformed. ^_~* Release date: April 2005. Now, there has been an unofficial bootleg versions of Blue/Red/Yellow under the title 'Emerald version' for the Game Boy (as Des pointed out in the Diamond/Pearl sister thread), but nothing more. Just came...and went. And now, here's the real deal: like Yellow is to Red and Blue versions, Emerald is to Sapphire and Ruby versions. Rayquaza is the "mascot" of this one. Right, I can hear a lot of you moaning "Oh, good God above, not another one." Well, what about Yellow and Crystal versions? I didn't quite hear much complaining about those two, plus they were good anyway. XD But then again, I'm not sure if I'm dealing with the majority or minority lol. I know I'm gonna get it, but mostly because I'm a fan of the series. :whoops: Ok, now for the surloin steak, the official game, screens, art, and other side dishes. X3 Here's what I've picked up so far. I personally think the color coordination pf the characters' outfits are a bit off-putting: green, red, black and white?! o__0 Yeeck. But the main characters' outfits look pretty snazzy though, especially the boy's pants/leggings. I like the boy's artwork altogether--he doesn't look like some stunted middle-aged man, lol. He actually looks like a preteen. But the girl, c'mon. Her torso's smaller than her head! But then again, that's just the style I guess. X3 Apparantly, it looks like Kyogre and Groudon are gonna literally duke it out in this one. And according to the info on the page, there's gonna be new areas. I certainly hope it isn't a bunch of remote, boring-a** islands. Seriously. After
FireRed/LeafGreen
and the Windwaker, I'm getting sick of them! >_

And the bread? The soundtrack, all the way. ^_~ I unwaveringly agree with Siren on that whole deal--I just love the idea of 2D platformers taken to the next level, especially Metroid! I mean, I look at games like Paper Mario and Mischief Makers and it's an instant grab for me, lol. But I still would like to see Return of Samus come to the GBA. :( I can't find that game anywhere at a reasonable price. And think of me as odd, picky, or whatever...for some reason, I do a lot better with platformers with good graphics than old ones, like Game Boy and NES. :p So yeah, if they re-did Metroid, they may as well do the Return of Samus.

Censorship in California... or, How To Raise A Nation Of Idiots
I never said that there was, or that he was. Just that our economy depends on a holiday meant to celebrate the event.
Lol, I know, and it was clear to me. It wasn't quite necessary for you to state that for me to state what I said. ^_^ I was just pointing out the general conception the majority of people seem to believe, and was straightening it out. :p For one thing, in order to lead (which ties in with parenting), you need to avoid hypocriticism. I see aetheists celebrating Christmas albeit it's a religious holiday (dealing with deities and whatnot), and I'm guessing Easter, too. Well, gift-giving (or an annual giving spirit as I see it ~_~), or anything else for that matter tying in with Christmas, is like saying you don't eat pizza yet you eat the crusts. :( The fact of the matter is, it's still celebrating Christmas regardless of your personal intentions or beliefs. It's a given, like the fact that smoking is damaging to your health, even if you do it to 'relieve stress' or something. (And I'm not tying that in with Christmas either, and in saying that I mean it's a given, and not that if you celebrate Christmas you're bad. ^_^) Simply put, once our children are taught to shut God out of our lives...well...let's just say I see history repeating itself. :( They are our future after all. And I'm being candid and honest on this subject, so I'm not really seeking a debate, but simply stating my thoughts. ^_^;
Edit: Of course, it was origionally meant to celebrate Saturn... either way it's a religious holiday...
I agree on the second half of the statement, but the first half can lead me to digression, lol. ^__^;; -
Tonight at eight:[/b'] The secrets behind McDonald's new recipe- the boiled McPeople burger.
Holy crapness--that's the funniest thing I've heard this week! LOL! Ok...this one's too good, lol. @,@; I've never been fond of McD's to begin with. X3 A very close tie between Doc and Solo, but Solo's made me go back one Page three times. :p Doc's was so random, however. ^_^ I'm sure it was the big font that pulled off the effect. Ok Solo, fire away! .:^o^:.
I would really love a remake or re-release of Metroid II: Return of Samus, since it's the only game in the series I've never gotten to play.
Yeah, same here... :( That would be teh rocksauce. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. ^__^ I agree on the control scheme. I was also iffed on the TLoZ: ALttP remake, because the 'Start' and 'Select' button controls were tactlessly reversed. Stupid, I say. It's always been on the SNES Zelda: 'Start' was menu, 'Select' were the Save/Quit options. Start's like, THE menu button of Nintendo games, lol. (That, and Link's shouting irritated me.) :twitch: Back to Metroid, it took me quite a while to get used to the MZM shoulder-/holding-down- button/aiming controls. But after a WHILE, lol, my complaints were almost nonexistent, although my hands grew more tired than when I played Super Metroid. Maybe it's because the corners of my SP kept digging into my palms, and trying to hold it's hard, squared and smallish form cramped my hands. :-( Metroid: MZM is a game for the Game Boy Player, lol. :p I learned that the hard way. So yeah, lol, I would love to see a different control scheme the next time a classic is introduced onto the GBA. -Leave the general aiming and movements up to the D-Pad (well, duh). -Diagonal aiming to the shoulder buttons. -'Select' to toggling missiles and whatnot, -'Start' for the map and menu. -'A' for jumping. -'B' for shooting/dashing.

idiotic things that people say about relationships

Lol, really. I can't stand health class sessions--I was entertained until something like that started up in this thread. o_O; Maybe someday a thread on shampoo brands will break out into some scientific debate on the ultimate shampoo that smells like every God-given fruit and flower, provides all elements of health, and grants blondes the power of intelligence (joking, lol, I know that brunettes can be just as stupid as blondes). :p Anyways, I recall my brother falling victim to ignorant generalizing of girls sometime last year. I overheard Mom and Bro in a conversation, and him stating something along the lines of, "...but girls go for that; they want the guys dissing and abandoning them, and play hard-to-get..." and blahfrickingblah. I guess an IQ of 140+ serves no justice without any sort of common sense/good judgement . -_o My memory's a bit fuzzy, but that was pretty much the meat of it. :whoops: -
Censorship in California... or, How To Raise A Nation Of Idiots
Ban any referance to dieties in our schools, but our entire western civillization's economy is based around a holiday celebrating Christ's birth.
[off-topic]Quick correction, with no argumentive intentions--there was no date at all in The Bible stating Christ's birth, or the commanded celebration of (or anyone elses's for that matter). In fact, he wasn't even born in the winter season.[/off-topic] :p Couldn't resist. Lol, anyways, my religion is plain and simple...we follow God's written word (should know what that is). By my viewpoint, America is simply cutting itself off from God, and seeing as how things are now, I'm somewhat interested on where this fracas will lead. Reap what we sow, I guess. :( -
What would you classify your clothing style as?
Erika replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I wear baggy bell bottom jeans and one of ten hoody sweatshirts that I own each day. How's that for style?
Lol, same here, except it's one of ten shirts, lol. Since the weather's been cold, and inside the house somewhat, I've been wearing coats, too. I have a giant, goosefeather parka, a large Columbia jacket, a black duster, and a red goosefeather jacket. The parka makes me look like a hobo. I wear it when I feel lazy or depressed. I'm usually always wearing my Columbia. :whoops: I rarely wear my duster at home, cause then it gets covered in cat fur and couch lint. I hate wearing shoes, so I usually wander around in socks, even outside. Sometimes barefoot even. As for my general style, I guess you could call it "middle schooler", lol. I usually wear Mudd jeans and girly shirts, like Hello Kitty (just because I love cats, and it suits my general demeanor). Other than that, I have a fondess for Bobbie Brooks and Arizona-brand shirts. :p -

I agree with what Bombu said. But I'm expecting something new, also. And I think they should stick with the real-time factor. Crystal Version's what got me into Pokemon in the first place, because the game was so damn fun, and the real-time element gave it a sense of well, time, lol, and gave it more of a sprawling-world feel. I mean, y'can't go wrong with such an awesome handheld RPG, lol. ^__^ And next time they make a console battle/arena-oriented Pokemon game, it'd better not have a Story mode because not everyone will have it, nor does it really fit with the whole concept of Pokemon being portable a.k.a. Pocket Monsters, so it would be lame to have console-exclusive Pokemon (like they did in Colloseum(sp?), and that aggravated me to no end), and have none/little of those available on the GBA games. And Snagging Pokemon is a royal pain in the a** because it's hard to keep them from killing themselves from Shadow Rush. :twitch: Anyways, moving on. :p Here's some more information, but it's unconfirmed for now. I'm sure the poster means that the 500+ Pokemon is the grand total, but for now, I'm going to distance myself from the information because it's not confirmed yet. It's still info, nonetheless, and I'm trying to nab every tidbit of it just in case. :whoops:

GrrRRrr...This'll be the first game I'll get when I can! *shakes fist* I kinda like the light/dark worlds--it kinda reminds me of A Link to the Past! I guess with that concept in mind, I'll have a somewhat easier time solving the puzzles, albeit I'm sure there'll be points in time where I'll wanna tear my hair out, lol. By the way, does anyone know what you can unlock in this game? :3
One of the things I was wondering is that does this game come before or after Tales of Phantasia? I know I have read somewhere that it is related to that game and the use of the Ymir forest and Heimdall proves that.
I'm unsure myself, but I think it's just simply the latest Tales game of the series. (I haven't played ToP in probably 3+ years, so my memory's a bit faded.) I saw many similarities between ToD2 and ToS, however. Haven't tried the first Tales of Destiny. (Oh, and thanks for the scenarios, lol.) :whoops: And like the FF series, they could be just reused names (which I think is kinda neat, lol), and not really share any story relevance.

Writing The Legend of Otaku Hollow [PG-13]
Erika replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
Wait, I've been banned? Then what am I doing here? Damn paradoxes, lol. X3 Wow, this's pretty ludicrous, lol. I love the deal on Syk3. XD Aweshome. Very aweshome. ^__^ Your randomness glows with a godly light. X3 -
Lol. Actually, it can be like Power Rangers or something, where their ships can combine a single, ultra MicroNinSony Bot, defeating all console-making n00bs in their path! WA-hah!! Agh. Too symbolic, lol. Internal strife may arise or something, causing all three companies to go 'boom'. :p

Oh, Contra, yesh!! I was thinking about buying The Legend of Zelda (II) carts just because they're awesome, and even though we have NES copies of 'em as well (and they're not mine), it just makes sense to me that I won't have to worry about the dreaded "blinking screen" erasing my hard-earned data, lol. And it would be less vulnerable to dust and whatnot. And...ish portable! Cha-ching! Metroid just makes me mad in general, lol. I guess I'm not used to playing NES games as much as I used to. I have a hard time avoiding enemies, shooting them, and I've been spoiled on maps, so I get lost all the time. :p And everytime an enemy's killed it sounds like they farted. I've always been fond of the NES audio. If only Chrystalis was a Nintendo Classic...that game rocks. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. ~.~

Gyms and Badges never really bothered me. In fact, I'd be disappointed if they took that away. However, they can make the Gyms more challenging, without any of those lamea** traps and whatnot. I enjoy trampling over every trainer that literally asks for it. I can take down Gym Leaders at 5-10 levels weaker. The trainers, most of them, are too easy most of the time. I'm looking for, yeah, a new area--well, world would be a better term. Overall, a complete new smorgasboard of Pokemon, no "mixes" of old ones like Sapphire had. And as a battler, I really think they need to work on types this time. I discovered that a majority of the Pokemon I use/in all, are either weak against Ice, Water, or both. It's an odd yet vital observation. I'd love to see more varied Pokemon types, such as Dark-Fighting, Dark-Bug, Electric-Bug, Psychic-Poison, Fire-Poison, Dragon-Grass, etc. There seems to be too many Flying-, Normal-, Water-, and Ice-types. Overall, it's a Pokemon game, regardless, and I expect familiar elements (with twists, even), just like any other series would have. But I think taking away those (or some) elements entirely or replacing them would be like turning it into a different game with just "Pokemon" as its title (which are my thoughts on FFX-2). I don't wanna spend the whole game double-battling like I did in the world of Orre in Colloseum (sp?). I guess if you're not a Pokefan, you would be a bit halfhearted about the series. I would like to see a lot of elements from the G/S/C series, with Morning, Day, and Night, and seven weekdays. And no berry crap like Sapphire and Ruby had, such as stupid Berry Blending or Contests. Sure they make excellent holding items, but otherwise, no.
