The most irritating moments are those where you know what you need to do, but can't figure out how.
Gah!!! I know!!! But what's just as frusterating--well, actually, more like annoying as all hell---is when the game does too much of the opposite, such as the Windwaker. They don't really let you find things out for yourself--they give you too much information when you don't really need it. :cross: Well, that is if you're not stupid, unobservant, and/or enjoy finding things out for yourself. Lemme think now. . .another annoying thing that has driven me crazy lately is Rover from Animal Crossing. I can't transfer to the next town without having to endure his damned face and pointless, time-wasting conversations. That, and I get sick of drawing Blanca's stupid fat face all the time. >.
I feel your pain mitch...I had the same problem except it was against the Arc Knight guy that turns your party into vampires. I foolishly saved before I went to his castle and I got stuck there...I tried and retried to beat the same level time and time again (I stoped counting after 53 or so) I went online only to find out I needed an item called 108 jems so there went my entire game up to that point...Pissed me off to no end. All those hours down the drain... :flaming: [/color']
Is this all in Final Fantasy Tactics?!?! Uhm, if so, then I'm getting second thoughts about playing the game. :( Yeah. One of the worst things that has ever happened to me was accidentally saving over my original, very first, almost-got-everything, 80-hour Final Fantasy VII file. Dammit! I was SO MAD! And it was my own fault, too! T_T

Yeah, I've been in that situation before, DW. One boss that really pissed me off was the Time Sage in Dragon Warrior VII. He had two lackeys, in which I think looked like stupid monkeys, and all three pummeled my party members dead sh**. And the worst part? The Time Sage kept using a tornado attack that got all my fighters, and one of his sidekicks uses Time Sand, and item that restarted the damn battle all over again, and I think the HP/MP didn't even change on my guys. So yeah, I was more pissed than a drunken wife-beater at that point. I'm glad I finally finished that guy off. :cross: And in FFX, when I had to go against
Yunalesca.
Oh, God that Zombie/Restoring crap drove me 100 miles from sanity. I was always confused as to who to cure and who not to. :p

Good God, what's this world coming to? You can wipe dirty windows with your head? And this whole thing is 100 bucks?!?! 'Scuse me but I can buy a two new games with that much. To save people those precious Benjamins, I think they should have an EyeToy joint in every town. :p No, wait. . . . *scratches head* I take that back. *prevents self from tearig after James in result of bringing up porn*

*grumbles* Why? WHY?! Why must we endure these things? http://www.us.playstation.com/content/ogs/scus-97319/site/ This's the link Japan gave me for this, uh. . .thing those crazy people call EyeToy. "What is EyeToy?" I'll tell you what it is. It's something a bald, isolated cancer patient in an adult home would get a kick out of. Actually, it's a camera-thing you stick on your TV and you act stupid in front of it. No, I don't mean you strip and flail your arms around, that would hurt people both mentally and physically. You just simply-- --gah. Just click on the link, dagnabbit, lol. :p So pretty you're on-screen and you're "the star" of the. . .uh, game. (Okay, I'm convinced that there're still people nowadays who forget what video games actually are.) ". . .then you use your arms, legs, head. . .in fact any part of your body to play! Cool, isn't it?" Right. And you use your head?! I hope they mean brainpower, cause other than that, I can only imagine!! Wait a minute--what am I saying? Brainpower isn't necessary to play this game at all. But then again, it's not like you can detach your head and fling it around at the incoming ninjas on the screen. And what else would you use to play the game? Your foot? Ok, I should stop here before I get into anything more graphical. Any comments? Queries? Any new information? Cause I'd like to know more about this freak of gaming and I'm too lazy and unplugged to look it up right now. :p

GAH! *puts thread on life support* :p *CURSECURSECURSE!!!!* I hate Undine!!!! I hate her with all my soul!! I want her to die on BigMacs and rot in HELL!! This damn boss from Tales of Symphonia is the worst boss I've faced since the Time Sage in Dragon Warrior VII! ! ! No matter what Sem says to me, I always end up getting steamrolled. Mainly because she attacks more than I can heal--and spells take a precious 5 seconds to cast, and guess what?! Undine takes THAT opportunity--right when they can't move--to attack them! WONDERFUL! AWESOME! SWEETNESS! And I can't even prevent her from casting magic like she does my guys! In fact, it only takes her a SPLIT second cast it! ! ! And here I HAVE to fight other spirits as well as Undine, including Selphie (I died within 10 seconds, not to mention you have to fight 3 of them at once), using a party member I can't stand fighting with. And Sem said Undine was easy. T_T I forgot whether or not he said that out of comparison, but it seems likely. I just don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do. I'm at Level 30--6 levels higher than I was on my first attempt, and I have as many Melange/Apple/Orange Gels and Life Bottles as I can carry, too. Plus my equipment is "upgraded" or whatever to the best currently possible. Undine just keeps robbing me of opportunities to attack with Thunder Blades and whatnot, so I spend a lot of time restoring. Not to mention she can seemingly cast spells as strong as her frickin' short-range blade attacks, it doesn't matter if I'm close or far, she f***s me over either way. *starts bawling* :moron:

Er, that's nice. I've lost track on how many threads I see on Melee. :cross: But since I'm here, might as well add that Bowser, Pikachu and Young Link are my faves. Lol, but Bowser takes the cake. "Super-Size him please!" Er--I don't mean play mod or anything *fidgets*--I just simply can't help but comment how old this subject is! *starts tearing hair out* :moron:
Wow... First Off I'd like to say... wow.
Yeah, same here, lol. Thanks a lot, too! One of my bro's friends said that it'd make a good tattoo. XD
Are you ever going to try and color or finish it?
*falls out of her chair* Nononono, no coloring, thank you. O_O And I quit drawing the foot because I couldn't "duplicate" the right one. That's just one of my biggest problems--mirror effects. And if I drew the wings, the mutant wouldn't stand out as much--I tried that with a detailed picture once and it looked...er, illegible. :cross:
By the way, how big is the original?
Big enough to fit onto the scanner. :whoops:
-
And here's something from the other end my art spectrum--a crazy-looking mutant freak NOT chibi-fied. It took me a good 3 hours to draw this suckeh--and I didn't even have the brain juice to finish its left foot and wings. :whoops: It's just a good 'ol pencil drawing done with I think might've been a .5 or a .7 mech. pencil. Oh, right. I used erasers too. o.O God, I love drawing these things. The secret is is to work on each section of the body as if it were its own picture i.e. left leg, right arm, upper torso, etc. I'd love to hear what y'all have to say about this, that is after you've seen my chibi-fied FFX-2 charcacters. ^_~*
The purple stands out too much distracting the eyes from the drawing itself. I think you should have gone with a lighter/cooler color. Such as a light grey or light blue.
Now that I think about it, pale blue seems to fit for the inner border of the matting more than purple. But I like purple. Meh. I can't do anything about it now, lol. :whoops:
I'm also not fond of the dark shadow coloring on Yuna's face/leg. I think that should be toned down a bit.
Ahahaha!! Yeah, I agree. I still need to work on color compilation for skin. I'm still practicing with shadows. I tried to get that medium-pale color, but failed miserably. XD Oh, well. Everything else blots that out, heh. Thanks so much for the comments. I find it odd that not many people commented on it back on DA. :cross: I enjoy getting comments from people--mainly valid criticism I can use for future reference. But I'm still amazed at myself over the detail I managed with a .1 pen. O_O I forgot how detailed it really was until I blew the pic up, lol.

I was gonna post them up on OB a while back, but when i found deviantART I changed my mind. But hey, exposure is a good thing, lol :whoops: Anywho, first up is some FFX-2 fanart I did earlier this year done in my own art style. Mediums include a .1 felt-tip pen (the finest of finest, heh), Crayola/Prisma colored pencils, and Sharpies to fill in Paine's black outfit. I mainly used Crayola for a color base, then added/blended with the Prismas. Yuna's skirt was the funnest and most well-done element I did. The most difficult thing I did was Rikku's hair. T_T I got lost in them, lol. Oh, all kinds of criteria are accepted. :whoops: I'll have some more up, too. EDIT: Sorry about the Thread Title--I'll see if I can get it changed. Lol, or mebbeh I'll just leave it there for now.

I've always liked those Geico commercials. :whoops: The soap opera one always gets to me, lol. I also never stop laughing at the new KitKat bar ones. Lol, especially when that black guy falls on the floor and starts doing the Worm. That commercial rocks, heh. God, I hated that Quizno's Subs commercial that had those rat-things!!!!!!

- Watch Charles' looping avatars/banners over and over. - You enjoy reading Shinmaru's myO surveys. - You watch peoples' buddy icons more than the conversation. - You think Digimon's lingo is clever. - You bother posting in this thread.

I played this last month at a friend's overnight birthday party. I f***ing hate the GBA's and cables!!!!! MARGH! Yeah, it was fun using my SP as a second screen, but I mean, damn. I'd rather use the GC controllers. O__O Anywho, I love the graphics. When I first went into Hyrule w/my buds, it was like early 90's all over again, lol. Ahhhh. . .good 'ol days. *goes into a trance for a brief moment* We quit playing after we got stuck on Death Mountain. I don't know why none of us could figure out how to light those 4-5 cannon-thingys, and none of us had a Fire Wand. :cross: I guess 'cause it was midnight, lol. Either that or we're just retarded people. Or both. >.> And I hated the 1P/2P mode only because it was annoying for me to switch with the Links. And what is it with overlooking the obvious in Zelda games? Lol, I do everything, try everything, and sometimes the answer's right in front of me. Or always. . . . .or whatever, lol. :whoops:

You've got it already?! :moron: Gah! I was supposed to get it late this week! Well, I'm expecting next week, though, guaranteed. I hate "estimated deliveries." Anywho, despite the awful name-choice of the two main characters (Llyod and Colette? Gimme a f***in' break--sounds like a sitcom from the 70's :p ), I think the graphics are a lot like Dark Cloud 2's, and I think that's great. I like the real simplicity of everything. The addition of cooking stuff adds an odd, yet realistic touch to it as well, and I'm happy to know that this RPG also has a World Map to get myself lost on. :whoops: :p

. . . .but game pro says the battle system is kind of odd for hardcore rpg gamers.
Yeah, well, screw them to the moon. It would only be odd if the "hardcore" RPG gamers were n00bs that are too used to the generic battle systems common since Dragon Warrior, and haven't broadened their battle-system-oriented horizons, yet or at all. :p (Not that there's anything seriously wrong with those common concepts. ) What I mean is, any hardcore RPG gamer that has played Tales of Phantasia (and since I haven't played the other Tales games yet, I'm unsure if whether or not the battle system's the same, so I'm including those, too), then it should be somewhat familiar and/or expected, but not quite odd. But then again with the people used to common battle systems. :p Anywho, I see the battle-system kinda like Star Ocean: 2nd Story. I like it when the fights get all hellish and hectic. ^_^ But then again, I only like it when I know what's going on. (O___O) Ahahaha! This by far is my favorite screenshot! :whoops: Take a look at this beauty! Aww, cute. Here's Colette, uh, poking Lloyd's hand. >_O Anyways, this one is nice, too.# ^__^#

AH-hahahahahaaaa! ! ! Yes, this game is something I have been deprived of since Skies of Arcadia. (I've yet to play FF: CC, though.) I've ordered it online yesterday, and I should expect it by the end of the week. Oh, I so want this game so badly. I'm foaming at the mouth. I twitch on random occasions. Well, I've played Tales of Phantasia, and lemme tell you, that game had everything almost every RPG then lacked. I've fallen in love with hand-drawn graphics and I can't get up. But bad thing is, I haven't played the PSX Tales games. I guess I deserve a spankin' for it, too. But yeah, I'm looking forward to the storyline and characters more than anything. And I like Tara Strong as a voice actress, mainly since she voiced my favorite characters from PPG and FFX/X-2, and also just for the simple fact that she's pretty good in general. And finally, I'm tired of battles that eventually lose their purpose after about a dozen or so, or after the third or fourth key battle/boss. ("Oh, wow, I get EXP and Gold, nice." *yawns*) And most I've played just require an "attack, hurl magic, then attack some more, and heal when necessary" formula. I dunno---there's just something that piques my interest about ToS's battle system. Even if I do end up rerpeating this formula as I've done in the past, at least I can do it in style.
The only real difference between Toriyama's designs for this game and his designs for anything else are the clothing styles. The facial structure is incredibly similiar in literally any character the guy comes up with anymore, whether it's Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest or Dragon Ball.
Of course Toriyama's characters look the "same"--it's his art style. C'mon. Is it really that debatable? :nope: I really miss CT, though. The RPG that started it all with me. Too bad there's no other games like it on the GBA. The only good memory I've had with it so far were the Golden Sun games. *sighs* But another one's version of CT is too tempting, but I am prepared to criticize, lol!! My precious Chrono!!

Well, I haven't done a banner in months, it seems. And I mean a COOL one! So, here's one from Final Fantasy I, from FF Origins. OMG!!! :faint: I LOVE this guy! i HAD to make a banner/avatar of him! I've been getting better on my bordering, in which previous banners lacked. Well, here he is! AH! *faints again*
Some of the elements of the movie, sure, appeal to me, while others not as much. I guess we'll just have to see about this one.[/color']
Yeah, I agree. But still, I haven't even SEEN the creatures in the woods, or "Them." But I'm still up for it. It sure as hell seems suspenseful. I just hope the ending of it wasn't like "Signs." As they say, different strokes for different folks.

SOR-RY! Yeah, I AM looking forward to Minish Cap. Weird-a** name, though. :whoops: But still, I prefer ALttP graphics any day. It's so...Zelda. :whoops:

Uh, is it me, or am I the only one here that loathes mutli-player Zelda games with a passion? I'm sick of it all, really. All these damn controllers and GameCube-Gameboy-cable blarg hooked to GBAs are driving me five-hundred miles away from sanity. Christ. I'm disappointed; I was hoping for Zelda: ALttP graphics. I think Nintendo should just stick to their guns and let Capcom do anything but Zelda. Sure, I'm gonna BUY the GBA game! (The moment I heard of new Zelda games, I freaked until I got a stomachache.) But I'm scorning the GCN Four Swords crap. I'll probably end up renting the game and just playing the Hyrule adventure. I mean, multiplayers should be left to other games. I'm starting to miss Zelda going solo...connectivity is starting to get on my nerves.

All right, people! Let's spice things up! This thread is the counterpart of the "Most Frusterating Gaming Moments". I'm sure y'all have had those times when you point at the TV and yell, "In yo FACE, [insert adjective followed by a string of profanity]!" That's what this thread's all about. I'm hoping to get some laughter here, and some GL-OR-IUS moments . I bet you wanna know some of my gl-or-iusss moments (okay, so I'm being cheesy. Sue me XD). One of mine would have to be paying off the WHOLE house loan in Animal Crossing. Seriously!! That drove me INSANE, but when I finally got the statue of myself erected, I did a victory dance for about ten minutes tops, lol! :whoops: Another would have to be finally getting a Gold Chocobo in FFVII, MANUALLY leveling up my Level 5 Electabuzz to 100 in Pokemon Crystal (and a few others)...basically just "ganging up" on the video game verablly when I accopmplish something that took me forever to do. I find yelling at my games in triumph, especially at FF Tactics Advance, to be utterly satisfying. XD *sighhhh* One more moment would have to be in Star Fox Adventures, when I finally passed the "Test of Bravery" or whatever, and the constant B-button-mashing when I was riding on the back of a pteradactyl and had to shoot those towers down.

:nope: Okay. Tell me. Why is this such a big deal? GIRL GAMES? Video games are just video games! Christ, people! I don't keep track of how many girls I know play video games! So what if the "majority" of them don't! There's probably a reason. Either they're simply not interested, didn't grow up with them, or would rather do something else. Almost every person (girl or boy) I ask, they say they've gotten into video games because a family member did, or they just simply grew up playing them. My sister is obssessed with Tomb Raider and Donkey Kong, and she's 17. I'm 18, and I've been playing games nonstop for 15 years and counting. And besides, not every girl likes video games, and neither does every guy. And I'm sick of all this "boy vs. girl" competition. All it consists of is button-mashing, if you strip the scenario raw. I wouldn't call that an accomplishment. Just because a guy beats a girl at a certain video game, it shouldn't really mean much (unless he's got an infantile attitude about it), and just because a girl beats a guy at a video game, it doesn't mean that she's better than him at anything else. Simple. I don't apologize if I've burst a few bubbles. But on the other hand, I find that almost every guy assume they're better than everyone else, and most satisfying thing is taking anyone down. And I don't even boast about my abilities before or after the game, especially if I've won. I make it seem like it wasn't a big deal, because it wasn't, really. So, yeah. There's my input. See it any way you'd like.
I'm very much looking forward to The Village, and I'm also trying to guess; what's it really about? [/size']
Rrrrrrrrrrrgh! *presses fingers hard against temples* Well, my memory's inept, but I'll try. The Village, judging from what I've seen, takes place in colonial times...like, maybe 1700's? Anyways, these settlers find a village (I think) and they have the 'perfect life.' That is, if they abide by the village rules. Rules that say things like "stay away from the woods; they live there" and "when the bell rings, stay in your houses and lock up." I think there's a third rule, but I forgot. Anways, that's all I can remember. There's lookout towers near the edge of the forest. I guess the villagers are trapped or something. That's the element of movies that scare me--the ONLY element--is when the plot keeps the, er, threats (such as in 'Signs'), hidden or concealed, and you have no clue what's out there. But I hate it at the
end of Signs, when they finally showed the alien. That ruined it for me. For the rest of the film, I was thinkin' "WTF???"
But I like it on movies when they only reveal noises and darting shadows. That's what makes movies scary. Kinda like Silent Hill, when you can only see so much of the threat. Blair Witch Project has that element, too. Basically, the unknown.
