1. I watched "Unbreakable" last night (Samuel Jackson did a GREAT job) and saw the 7-minute footage of The Village included in between. So tell me. You think it's as scary as it seems? I'm all up for it! I'm already dying to see what happens after watching the footage. But, some movies weren't as scary as they first appeared, such as "Signs." Anyways, so yeah! I'd love to hear everyone's input on this. I like the whole idea with the movie taking place in colonial times, and there's "things" in the woods they have to watch out for. Heh, they won't even enter them, let alone go NEAR it! I think The Village will be a hit.
  2.
Maybe I should just spend the $5 on a headphone adapter.
Don't they have SP headphones in stores yet? Well, I have a pair. They came with my FFTA bundle last fall. XD *curses at Nintendo for such a damn-stupid idea for headphones* Gah, they hurt my ears even! *throws an unidentified object at James* HAH! 3 against 1! The volume dial rules! *coughs* Yeah. Whatever. U>_> Just recently, I haven't been gaming at all *shrinks into a corner, blushing*. BUT, I am pissed at Secret of Mana. *curses at a questionable volume* I 'm having problems with, of course, the !@#$in' Eye Wall-boss thing in the Pandora ruins. I swear! I have beaten that **** before (like, a few years ago maybe) but GIMME A BREAK! #>"
  3. Inuyasha? Trigun? Boring!! I'd also like to live amongst Thirds and Martians in Armitage: Poly-Matrix. It's neat to be able to travel between Earth and Mars. Except I don't think Mars has any real or artificial bodies of water yet. I think in Dual-Matrix they finally include an artificial ocean. Anyways, being around all those robots...what's not to like?? :p And I wouldn't mind living in the Pokemon world, either! I'd travel to all sorts of places. I like the picturesque simplicity of the world. I'd love to ride on my Blastoise's shoulders! And James is the greatest. I'd take over the Team Rocket duo and kick Jessie off the team. And I'd send Meowth with her.
  4.
Please explain why you would want to live in these anime series instead of just naming off names. This post is considered spam and anymore like it in the future will be deleted. Please read the rules. Thank you. *QA*
Heh. Looks like you got your work cut out for you! ^_~* I don't need to think about this topic. If I could be in any anime world, it would have to be Excel Saga!! Why? Well, how can you blame me? Think about it. My face would wield over 73 different expressions, puchuus exist for me to kick around, my partner's daily routine would consist of blood-dribble and five resurrections, my good-and-evil consciences can actually commit random acts of violence on each other, and I get to work for a leader that does nothing but play dating sims all day and blows my head off every time I want a hug from him. And I get to hang out with a man whose mustache spins around like a propeller and falls off. Doesn't sound like everyone's idea of Zion, but it's entertaining, nonetheless.
  5. *points accusingly at SciosDarkBlade* Never get in between a gamer and his Easter Eggs!! :lecture: And guess what's making me mad this time? --my SP! Yessiree Bob. I can't STAND the volume-thingie on the GBA SP!! When I'm in bed, I want the volume down enough to where I can barely hear it. But no~oo! I can only turn it up to, like, four different volumes! :cross: The old GBA had a dial! Volume adjustment was cake and ice cream! Aaaarrrgh! Heh. Strange what I've got myself worked up over. Wild Arms 3 is putting me off, too. As far as I can tell, I can't buy any ****in' healing items! No Healing or Potion Berries for me! Nope! The only way I can get any is to rely on enemies dropping them like turds. I think this situation's worse than random enemy encounters!! Where's a GameShark when you need one?!?
  6. Oh, Des, you always make feel so stoopid , lol! *drops head onto table* XD Yeah, it was cake and ice cream once I paired Elemental and Lightning materia on Yuffie's armor. But the only problem remaining was that he kept using Cure2 after his HP went below half, STILL got an attack in after that. Now THAT made me mad! Then...I realized he only healed himself whenever I used Fire Veils and Swift Bolts. So, I just resorted to Greased Lightning and regular melee. No spells. So, after that, all he used primarily was Beast Sword, which boosted my Limit Gauge quickly and took away only 1/4 of my HP! I just slash, slash, heal, slash, Limit break, slash, heal. Eventually, I took him out. It was easier than it was before. Something else pissed me off last night. I started a new file on The Windwaker. I didn't get too far before I started feeling tired (it was about 10 at night). I was SO out of it that I couldn't jump the platforms on Tetra's ship (when you first board). Seriously, I was grumpy after three tries of overjumping the stupid platforms. Right when I was swinging to the last one, I overjumped it again. Platforms, platforms, God I hate platforms...:twitch:
  7.
And I'm not sure if I mentioned this yet, but Super Metroid was slightly frustrating for me because the store I rented it from gave me a crappy copy. Every time I made any sort of progress in the game, it would randomly erase and get rid of everything I had done. I was powerless to stop it ;_;
Wait...then it's not Super Metroid itself that frusterated you, but cartidge itself, lol! :p Anyways, my most recent frusteration would have to be FFVII. I've done it countless times before, but now I'm in
Wutai (right before getting the Keystone), dealing with the five-story pagoda, and I'm guilty to say, I'm having trouble with Yuffie's dad (OMNI). Heh, I really want Leviathan
:cross: Last time I played it was last night. On the fifth try, I hit the sack. :sleepy: I tried it four times already, and Trine keeps KOing me. Oh, Yuffie's strong all right, for her level, I guess. I used a Hyper item on her to have her Limit gauge charge faster (heh, I do it ALL the time before boss fights!), and now with two hits, she's able to use Greased Lightning to deal about 950 damage. Also, throwing weapons and using Molotovs on the boss deals the same amount of damage. However, her regular attacks only deal 250 damage, and I have a Counter materia on her to do a little extra. It's just that taking damage from Trine is the part that's pissing me off (I'm at about level 26 or 27). ****!!! If only I had a lighting-absorption ring!! Gaaaaah!
  8. Oh, I figured no one would respond to my drawings. I guess I didn't myself until now. :p Whatever. Anyways, I appreciate your opinions. Yeah, expect a lot of big-headed drawings. It's my favorite drawing style. Not chibi, or normal-scaled, but somewhere in betweens. Tizzy's the pure essence of my personality, extracted from my imagination and materialized onto my paper like liquid soap from a bottle. Well, I still haven't colored it yet. I've never colored Tizzy before. She's such a great character, really! :p Now I have some more sketches of Tizzy I'd like to put up *searches for a scanner* EDIT: About the proportions of the foot and shades. I totally agree. And that's one of my drawing weaknesses...drawing in sync with a counterpart. EDIT 2: I also made a banner consisting of Aika and Vyse from Skie of Arcadia. Great game!
  9.
You are aware that even if you got 100% you'd still get that ending. You see, the trick is pressing 'x' during the scene on the farplane. Then you get the 'Good' ending. The normal ending sucks arse.[/COLOR']
What? What the hell are you talking about? No, I've never heard about it. If it's true, then what's the point in getting 100%? And please tell me what "Farplane Scene" you're talking about and when I should press "X". Spoiler tags of necessary.
  10.
Please put more thought into your posts or I or someone else will be forced to shut this thread down. Thanks.
*harps and choir sing gracefully, sky illuminates, clouds part, a golden staircase emerges, pillars if golden light spill from the heavens* *an omnipresent female voice echoes* No, worries, Shinmaru, I have arrived. I have more to say about this game than I did before. Slap me, because when I said that the ATB gauges were too slow (in my Frusterating Moments thread) I realized I could just go to the Customize menu and chage the ATB speed to "Fast." Sometimes I doubt my observancy. And as for the ending,
I was about 65% done (not too bad on first attempt) and got the stupid one where the three of them are laying down on the deck of the Celsius, while Yuna's yelling at Brother to go faster and higher. It was...so damn stupid. Which is why I'm more willing to aim for 100%. ^_~*
Not to mention the song "1000 Words" blew chunks bigger than my head. The singer's voice (don't care who sings it) was too loud and prominent, and didn't "flow" well. It didn't blend in with the music at all. It sounded forced. Seriously.
That song, in my opinion, ruined the ending for me.
Speaking of music, they didn't have anything true to the series other than chocobos, Tonberries, and the stupid Mascot dresshperes.
What I mean is, no familiar tunes, particularly at the end of the credits (or near the end).
Ever since I started FFX a couple of years ago, I dreaded future installments were going to feel more like offshoots than an actual game from the Final Fantasy series. I know the composer/music director for FFX-2 wasn't good 'ol Uematsu (which is what disappointed me), and I found that stupid. I haven't touched FFXI yet, that game has to wait 'til school's over with, so I can't use it to compare. My point is, FFX-2 feels more like an offshoot than a sequel. I couldn't help but feel bothered when I heard the developers were working on two or more Final Fantasies simutaneously. Overall, I like FFX-2 as a game itself. It's fun, and I like the Job System (don't correct me, it's a personal preference). And I'm glad Rikku's still in the game. And she looks pretty damn cool as a Warrior and Alchemist. But for some reason, she seems a bit more childish than she was in FFX. I thought it was funny (they were in Kilika to check out the hubbub about an "awesome sphere") when Rikku said "Oh, poopie!" and started doing a mix of stomping and hopping up and down. And it's funny when her and Brother start fighting. Then there's the "I'm gonna kick you in the spleen!" line she says randomly at the start of a battle. o_O And Paine is so damned boring. ~_~ However, I do like her occasional comments on Rikku and Yuna acting stupid (particularly Yuna). I also like her comments on Brother. I can't quite recollect any right now, but I know they were amusing, if not predictable. Good game, though. I like the chocobo deal--it reminds me so much of FFVII. *sighs*
  11.
what do u do after your in dime tower and the tower goes up? I have the robot with me but already read most of some things like a gravestone. Merged this with the exisiting Sword of Mana thread. Please look for threads already dealing with the same game before you create a new thread. - Desbreko
You know those structures that look like bumps with dark etches on them? They protrude from the floor. Whack them with a certain weapon, and they should light up. There's usually up to four or five in a room. Whack 'em all in a room, and an entrance should appear. You just need to be observant. ^_^
  12. The only game that has recently received the "Pissed Erica Off" award would be Star Fox Adventures. Nominees include Super Mario Sunshine and Mega Man X6. Reason? Too obvious. Passing the Krazoa Spirit tests and the notorious time-limit challenges that plague Rare games were enough to induce me with Tourette's syndrome. In fact, all Rare games I've played received my negative attention. Oh, right, then there's Mega Man. *shrugs apologetically at TVE* Sorry, but those games haunt me.
  13.
[spoiler']I will have to go with James though with the Aeris death scene on FF7, It's so funny because I can't stand her, When this happened I was jumped on my bed going Aeris is dead, Aeris is dead, Aeris is dead...... Because you have to hate her flower lovingness. I know, I know, go and call me a psycho.

Lol!! :rotflmao: If only you slipped... What I thought was sadder than this is when
Zero supposedly died in Mega Man.....X5? (I forgot ~_~; ) And in X6, when it showed the "story so far" cutscene, it retold it saying "And only one of them returned (or would return)."
My favorite video game character ever, meeting his doom. Oh, well. I'll have him alive forever once I finish drawing him in art class, lol!
  14. It's about time! First up, I'd like to present to you Tizzy. She's a 12-year-old chaotic mechanical genius, but that's pretty much it. That's all her intelligence is limited to. Yup. I'll have more drawings later, when I have more time. Valid criticism welcome! Let the spread of joy commence!! EDIT: I'll have some scans from the Almighty Sketchbook up, too, as well as some more originals and fanart (I don't do much of THAT, but I still do it)!
  15.
Heh....I played a bit of the game.....game play is about the only thing that didn't bore me to death....the story line and characters were...a bit lacking to say the least. I had high hopes for this one.......
I agree with ALL of you. Especially when Sem mentioned the graphics, lol!! The A.I. sucks major donkey balls; everytime I have an ally, he just aimlessly wander back and forth and GOD it's just so--NAAARGH! But I have to admit, I still like Sword of Mana. When you ask for advice on buying a game, you should check out both sides of the story. I overlooked the minor glitches (whenever you run across the screen horizontally, the top half of the screen graphics wiggles incessently). But still, the game is neat in its own way. The music is good, too. But, still, Secret of Mana remains my favorite. However, if you want a GBA game, you should borrow it somehow, or go to a gaming store that should let you try before you buy, knowing that all the rental stores I've been to so far don't rent out GBA games (for good reasons, I'm sure). If there's no go in any of these options, then just buy it like I did. I'm an RPG fan. I bought Sword of Mana 'cause I knew what I was buying. And, I like it. Simple as that. If you don't like it, then I guess you can just go trade it for another! ^_^ Whatever the case, every game has its ups and downs. And the translation for Sword of Mana? I DID hate the "ya" deal, but other than that, I have no complaints on the dialogue. Forging equipment and the AI are the only gripes I have for this game. On the other hand, I like the graphics, the sound, and the replayability. It still has its shine, like other RPGs, although not as radiant as its sequel. And I can't say about FF Adventure. Haven't bought it yet. Will soon. :p
  16. Memory Stick? Pardon the randomness, but I just got an image of someone jamming something into the side of their head and injecting gingko. Whatever. I have heard of this before, but never knew exactly what it did (tch--you figure'd they patent this a long time ago). Already, I'm seeing relief in being able to have more than one save file in Pokemon. Big relief. I'd be able to sleep easy knowing my Lv.100 Shuckle won't "die" by accident. o.O; And yeah, it would enhance the replayability! ^_^ I'm already thinking about getting one myself. And what the hell is a BrainBoy? Is it like a...er, Memory Stick? #>_>#
  17. Oh, some thread! Let's talk about DEATH lol! My favorite death scene? Well, I'll just list the ones that make me snort. In FF X-2, whenever I defeat a She-Goon/Ms. Goon, they say "Bleh!" and fall down and disappear. Another is whenever Rikku dies wearing a certain Dressphere (I can't remember which); she falls on her face with her butt sticking up in the air. The coolest on the SNES would be Super Metroid, when Samus's suit explodes. I dunno why, but it sorta creeps me out, and the animation's neat (er...yeah). But my favorite death scene would have to be, you guessed it,
AERIS'S DEATH!! Okay, okay, I admit I cried the first time, but after that, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of glee.
I don't like her. Reason? For crying out loud, she's a ****in' flower vendor with a stick, lol!
  18.
And Final Fantasy, well in Final Fantasy 7 and 8 the Weapons are hard as all heck to kill. In FF7 I have still yet to beat the Ruby and the Emerald Weapons.
Oh. Yeah. Totally. :p For Ruby Weapon, what I did was use Cait Sith's Limit Break "Slots." Fortunately, I saved the game before wandering into the desert, then I just crossed my fingers in hopes that Ruby didn't swallow up Cait Sith before I could use his Limit Break. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Nothing much pissed me off in that game. Although in FFVIII, what does piss me off is
near the end, when your at that point, after Rinoa gets captured, and you just CAN'T--GO--BACK.
I mean, I didn't know WHAT to expect for the last bosses, but I already had a strategy planned. The problem was be able to take a beating. I had no Player's Guide, so I couldn't prepare. Well, I was prepared for things like defenses...sorta. I forgot where to extract the Shell/Protect/Double/Triple spells for the battles, so I didn't do enough of spell-extracting for Junctioning (that's my only complaint for the game, other than boring dialogue boxes).
But my biggest problem was the first LAST boss at the end of Disc 4, Sorceress Adel
(GAWD, what IS that thing, anways?? :nervous: )...plus my dysfunctional Junctions...which all added up to, you guessed it, frusteration. I eventually put the game down. Now, it's collecting dust. I'm pretty much done with it, and FFVII, so when I can find them, I'm gonna buy the Guides to pick up anything I forgot. Good games, though. I never get tired of them. I just started on FF X-2 last week, and the bone I have to pick with that game is that enemies keeping beating the **** out of me while my ATB gauges CHARGE UP! Sure I don't mind the concept, but C'MON here! The gauges are SO SLOW! SlowslowslowslowSLOW! FFIX's were faster than this game's! Arrrrrrgh!!! I have what I 'm gonna do planned out, but I'm sick of worrying if my fighters are going to either live or die during the next minute until they actually carry out their commands. Especially when the gauge's purple. Ah, hell. Now I've gotten myself worked up. :p I was playing the game the other night
and was fighting Vegnagun's torso, or legs, or whatever 'n the hell had those three Nodes stuck to it. Already, I was delving into the Farplane to go after Vegnagun, and I was only 20 hours into the game. Major disappointment. But, after having a little trouble with defeating the Magus Sisters, Shiva, and Anima at Level 30-ish, I figured I'd call it quits and go back to Spira, where I got myself to Level 58-ish. Now my clock says 40 hours, which I was expecting would be the time I'd actually hear the words final battle and not 20 hours earlier.
So, yeah. Short RPGs bother me, too.
  19. Here's an avatar I made for Panda; I can't remember how to send it to her. ~_~ Well, strangely enough, I had a hard time dealing with borders, so I just let a little background in on the sides. Sometimes, borders just don't work. :p I love this avatar, just 'cuz Genma's my favorite Ranma 1/2 character. Note that I "marked" Genma's forehead with Panda's name. I added a dull-colored outer shadow to give it a "raw, drawn-on" look, as if someone just walked up to him and stamped Panda's name on his face. I was kinda going for that "smudgey" look. Cropping it took some time. I decided to show "less face" so it looked as if Genma was embarrassed by the situation. Whenever I see the avatar, I can't help but imagine Genma thinking: "Why me??" #^_^'# EDIT: I'm also going to post up Panda's banner pretty soon, too. EDIT #2: There we go! The bordering was a cinch. Valid criticism welcome!
I think the game looks alsome. The graphics are cool but,I don't really like the main dude.He looks to um..I don't how bout evil.I mean his eyes and the weird sleves kinda creepy.
I think he looks like a platypus.
I mean hello video games creaters don't be so rasiest put some girls games and colored people!
It's, like, just a game, okay? So let's not get into that. Although it would be nice if you could play as a boy or a girl. I'm not a sexist (no "girl power" B.S.), I just think it adds variety. But, in Colliseum, you have one as a partner, so there we go. Also, the girl in Ruby/Sapphire looked like a duck; I don't like her that much anyways. After playing Stadium 2 for the first time the other month, I've been having second thoughts about buying the GCN game. And I think the whole "turning evil Pokemon to good" concept is pretty damn lame. However, I did enjoy Stadium 2's features, such as the House, Academy and whatnot. I think Gold/Silver/Crystal is the best bunch out of all the games, but that's another story.
  21.
And, CrH, please do not play mod...your post was pretty spammy, as well, and it's just one more thing for us to deal with. Thanks.
*laughs maniacally* I bought this game Monday (finally), and I like it. Already, I'm about 17 hours into it, and I just got through the Yunapalooza part. I have to say, it ****in' stinks. I was disappointed, least of all amused.
I thought it was gonna be lighthearted song, with Rikku in it, too, but no. All Yuna did was whine and moan about...welll...the usual. It just didn't seem to suit the game at all. Halfway through it, I was just thinkin': "God, is it OVER yet? I thought this was supposed to be a concert to lighten everybody up, not make them bawl or cringe!" R&B sucks, and of all the types of music to put in this game. :nope:
The only song I like in this game so far is the BGM in Besaid. And I wish you could download stuff from your FFX saved data, like all the Al Bhed Primers, so you don't have to do it all over again. :cross: And still, Rikku remains to be my favorite character! The only thing that bothers me about her is how much she and Brother have in common. It's almost too unsettling. I mean, the way he moves around...you figured he'd be trying his hand at yoga! :cross: Well, I'm just grateful Rikku doesn't act the was HE does.
  22. Here's a kewl Chun Li banner I did. I just simly copy and pasted. Nothing flashy. Enjoy!
  23.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel The original Metroid is in Prime, yeah. You couldn't play it on your GBA though, so I think this is still a nice addition. It makes since since Zero Mission is a remake of the original anyway. It's nice that they bothered, I suppose lol.
Heh...I guess you're right. :whoops: My mom has the NES Metroid, but I just couldn't get into it, and still can't. Maybe I should give it another go when it comes to the SP, 'cuz those controllers are a bit unresponsive and they irritate me. I love the graphics for Kraid. It just simply looks...awesome. OH! Has anyone bought the game yet?? Our town doesn't have it yet, obviously. >_> I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say about it!

    Nintendo DS

HUH??? A dual-screen...thingamaboober? What'd ****'s Nintendo come up with this time? Whatever the case, I'm curious as all hell. What I'm concerned about most is what kind of games they're gonna have for it. That's the only reason I ever buy any kind of console. So, if it has the games I want, then I don't mind shelling out the bucks. And multiplayer? Yeah, it wouldn't make sense with one d-pad. Maybe it's a gaming system for romantic couples. :whoops:
  25.
Originally posted by terra You know, this isn't technically a gaming moment, but I'm frustrated right now and it has gaming involved so I'm writing it down anyway.
Err...wouldn't it then make it a gaming moment? Whatever the case, anything involving gaming that pisses you off or aggravates you toward the brink of busting something beyond recognition can be found right here! ;) 'Tis the place to vent, so welcome aboard, O Vexed One.
Where is it?? I'm nearly sure it's in my house, because where else would it be? I could've left it on the train, but I don't think I did. GRR!
Ooooooh....that...really, really...sucks. I know exactly what's up. That happened with my Golden Sun and Pokemon Crystal games (which were both 100% completed and had a high number of hours). Luckily, my Crystal version was under a couch cushion and I remembered that I lent my brother, who's in college, most of my GBA games and my GB Player until Christmas Break (he doesn't have a GBA, but has a Gamecube. Damn, those things are handy)! Well, you didn't mention looking everywhere for it--is there anyone else living with you? Ask them! Maybe they scooped it up wjhile cleaning and placed it somewhere where they "think" you'll find it. My mom does that when she spots my clutter. What she does is nags at me for it (I eventually deal with it, of course), then, on occasions, cleans it up herself. I can't tell you enough how much that pounds my buttons! It's not like I'm a slob, I just don't like people cleaning up after me, especially when some of my gaming stuff is being used and it "clutters" up the living room, or my brother's ex-bedroom. Anyways, I'm sure you'll find it! My SP is metallic orange, so it's hard to lose. Too obvious, really. Whenever I think I misplace it, I find out it's either in the bathroom (where my old GBA is), near a Gamecube, on my bed somewhere, or in the living room sitting on a side table. I have a compact pouch for it, whenever I need to take it somewhere. And you keep it in your purse? If that thing gets stolen, you're screwed over. I don't like them myself. I don't take my SP anywhere unless I'm going on a trip or going to school, and I keep it in a tiny carrying-thing, which I stick in my bag, and my bag's always with me. My advice is to, literally, look everywhere. You'll find it (hopefully). Anyways, I've recently been playing SimAnt for the SNES. I don't know why, but every once in a while, the friggin' Yellow Ant, the one I control, goes so SLOW in some areas! Normally, they do that when they're hungry, but this time it just nearly caused me to tear my hair out! Just to get to one food pile and back to the nest took, like, stinkin' three to five minutes! And it takes about 10 minutes to save a Full Game (or any kind of Game). I don't care how much data's being saved, 10 minutes is too damned long for anything! Then there's washing Gracies's car for some of her brand-clothing in Animal Crossing. :twitch: I swear, I hate doing A-Button races that kills my right thumb, only to lose at it. :cross: A thing like that had happened to me when I played Star Fox Adventures. I love the game itself, but I just...don't...like...the button-mashing sequence in a Village of some sort when you were tryin to prove your strength by pushing the A or B button as fast as you could (can't remember which). Then there was the time in that game when you had to pass a test and had to overcome your fear by keeping the cursor in the middle of the Fear Meter or whatever by using the Control Stick. Never ever in my life have I ever been so pissed at a game before. Utterly ridiculous. I had my sister do it for me, for both situations in that game (she succeeded), since my anger level was about to cross the line.
