And you know, considering how overly, stupidly PC we are in the UK (we can't fly our own flag during the world cup in case we 'insult someone' of another religion. Just what.) I'm shocked no one complained about the Christian ads being distressing in the messages they were directing people to look at. Then again, they do seem to be immune. No one wants to upset that lot, apparently.
Aaah Jesus, that gets me so riled up. It's a little off topic but I have to comment. The whole flag thing is complete nonsense - you see, it's perfectly fine to yell out passages to strangers on Market Street, order the removal of a hundred year of CoE church from a community that's only been there for five or so years and... aaah nevermind. I'll refrain from the rant, haha. I'm also the least racist person I know so I'm definitely no biased. But, on topic, I do agree that the Athiest message seems a little less 'fail' because it says 'probably' and sounds more hearty. I could never look at something that's telling me God exists and feel a smile on my face or a little chuckle.
well to me they shouldn't drop it. and what for? people of all races today are becoming more and more aware and its about time:animesmil we have a new head chief and you know thats going to be black history. as you can tell im black woot woot lol. and i cant see America dropping this
I didn't become aware of it through this History Month. In fact, I didn't even know it existed (the month I mean). How did I learn about black history? I learnt about it in school, along with both world wars, American histroy and a lot Anglo-Saxon history. I think having this history month separates blacks again by saying it's a more important history. I'm sure there would be major problems if there was a 'white history' month.

I'm never bored. I'm only bored when I'm too ill to go out, in which case I'll watch television or annoy people on MSN or AIM. I also have this weird habit of walking around the house convincing myself I need to get something (ie: I left my phone in my room) just so I can daydream, because I unfortunately can't daydream sat on my arse. If I'm bored and I'm not ill I ring people up and see who's coming out. Nine times out of ten someone is already out, or willing to come round to my house. And if I don't have credit I go out anyway and find people =D. Worse comes to worse I go to the library. If, for some reason (this has happened before) the library isn't open, then I go for a walk with my iPod and end up doing weird dances... which unfortunately does not go down too well with strangers.

This is like when people used to graffiti on the North wall of our school and have arguments through the said graffiti. Except that was using cheap paint and markers, hahaa.

Of course I agree with ending it. I'm not American so I barely even hear about this but I'm still a firm believer that we're all from the same species and we all share the same history and no one's is more important. I think having a Black History Month sets another rift. I'm also raising my eyebrow about the 'Obama's victory means we don't need Black History Month anymore'. What? I'm not sure I understand. That sets another rift that there was only this change because a black man became president. It's quite hard to explain what I mean. I don't even like using the term 'black'....

I had one of [strike]Blayze[/strike] DeLarge but I went and lost it. Upon losing it I came up with one of me... only it's not a cat but it's a goat with a mohawk which is feckin' awesome. Haha I loved this part the best. It was full of a good laugh, especially the 'hard on' and 'n.o.b detector'. Very good stuff, I did actually lol at most parts or even chuckle at the others. I love myself in this XD.
I'd recommend a mix of both conventional and lovey dovey type gifts. So go with the lighter since you know it's something she can use and then add something like a red rose to go along with it. Obviously she likes those kind of lovey dovey gifts since she got you some roses, so I think that would go over well.
Well I think she got me the rose because someone dropped a hint I love roses. I had a bunch in my room from awhile ago and offered all of them to her because she bought me one but she just shook her head and gave that "eeeh" sort of look. I also don't want to look like an idiot. What about perfume? I know she likes that because she has some... but then the problem there is, what kind she likes, haha.

Aaah what a revelation. I actually have a girlfriend now, thanks to that sly cockney =p. We're going to Thai food because I made a big deal about liking thai food and the place. But, I'm not here to brag. Well I am but I shouldn't admit to that. I don't have a lot of money but I was wondering what I should get someone for V Day? =(. I'm not really sure any of that lovey-dovey crap which actually work, so conventational gifts wouldn't be good. My only idea so far is a zippo lighter because she's constantly complaining the lighters don't work and bitchin' because she has to buy new ones. Otherwise I'm completely banging my head off a desk about this. The sly idiot already got me roses and I ain't given her anything >_
ALSO, JEREMY KYLE. I really need to go to Manchester more. The only times I've been there have been for concerts, which have always been a blast. I am probably one of the few UK females to have never gone shopping in Manchester, and people seem astounded when I say this. Is the Bird Cage there or am I just imagining things? I hear it's awesome and I want to go.
The Birdcage is indeed there right next to Zaavi and I've been =D (hurray for fake ID). It's quite awesome to say the least, very fun, but I'm mostly a Village person (all the barstaff there seem to be so happy and friendly). The only problem with the Birdcage is the drinks are quite expensive from what I'm used to, but a good night though, very much worth it. I personally think everyone in England on OB should come for a day out in Manchester =p. It would be legendary but I can't be responsible for anyone who gets arrested on my account, haha.

MANCHESTER! =D It's the real capital of England. And the real culture (anyone who remotely thinks Liverpool is can swivel! Haha no I'm kidding ;) ) =p. What's it famous for? Moosik. Atmosphere. Emos. Old punks (namely the infamous Manchester Punks who aren't so Manchester anymore because they buggered off to Bolton and Brighton). Creepy homeless anarchists... You have so many bands from Manchester. Oasis,Joy Division (of course New Order too), the Fall (my friend's mother was Una Baines! =D ), Take That... so many others. Above all on June the 4th, 1976, the Sex Pistols played the infamous gig at the Lesser Free Hall in Castlefield which gave rise to the Madchester music scene: Tony Wilson, the Hacienda, Factory Records, the Smiths and everything that revolved around that. In fact, there's so much info on that you might as well Wiki 'Madchester' and 'Music of Manchester'. We also had the world's first Public Library and Passenger Railway Station. It was also one of the biggest growing cities during the industrial revolution, which is still evident (on the land we call the outskirts which is just between the City of Salford there's the remaining foundations of the old factories that were torn down). We also have Trafford Park which was the world's first industrial park. But these days we've also got Manchester's Gay Village (Canal Street) which is, apparently, the gay capital of the UK. And it really is. You've also got Urbis which is a huge glass building/museum and Cathedral Gardens just below it, which hosts pretty much half of the alternative scene in the city. Not forgetting Afflecks Palace which is your home for whatever weird crap you want to buy and has been through the fog for the past god-knows years. You have everything here. The City Centre which is filled with all the history and culture, then the outskirts which is filled with lost history, then the industrial estates that were crippled by the collaspe of industry and further out to the slightly righer council estates and then, finally, the very very rich peoplez in near the all 'em forests and hills. You can take a camera out to Manchester and fill it up with hundreds of crazy shots of weird people, normal people, weird graffiti, normal graffiti, strange happenings and strange buildings. To summerise, my home rocks. Muchly. And I bet none of you knew any of this =p.

It looks like a good Nightmare Before Christmas. There's an IMax theatre where I live so it might be shown in 3D there... in which case I'll drag my friends for a night out to see it. Which would be especially funny as one of my friends cried at 'the Railway Children' when she was younger because it was 'terrifying'.
Valentine's day? pffffffffff......as if having a girlfriend isn't enough of a waste of time and money. Valentine's day is a marketing scam, there are people who literary go out for like 2 days during that period. In my opinion relationships are dumb, waste of time and money unless you're getting action, then you can't complain. I say this and yet, I've had 3 girlfriends just in 08. Sad.
Haha if you want action you get a hooker or a one night stand. If you want someone you can have a laugh with, spend time with, have a nice connection and waste money because you want to, or even just be with someone you really like, then you get a girlfriend/boyfriend. Relationships that don't even work out aren't even a waste of time. Gives you experience and a different perspective on things so you can eventually find the right someone. I'd rather be with someone I really like with no action more than anything.
Damn you Vicky. I would love to be around to just hear someone with a cockney accent speak. Or maybe any accent barring Central Texan (yes that is its own accent) and Quebec (Gor! It sounds like a bad cross between Pepe Le Pew and Robin Hood from Shrek) Yeah just one night I want to be around someone with an accent (Canadian doesn't count as an accent!) I wonder if it's an American thing.
It's the greatest accent in the world (second best being Mancunian... which is mine! =p), especially when she swears. It was also funny when she said "I didn't know V Day was the same date each year!" in a cockney accent because I was in stitches all morning. Daft and cockney is the way forward! She does get irritated because I normally sit there and go "say feck! Say bloody hell!" and an assortment of other phrases. It should be a good day for once. I also plan on going to London and collecting cockneys some days afterwards as well.

Normally don't care about it... ...but this year a very lovely cockney (cockney cockney cockney - you just fall in love with the voice) is taking me out for a meal for free. She's also 21 which is damn good. And pretty as anything. And nice. And bought me a rose. But we're not in a relationship and don't intend to be in one, so I'm technically single =p. Not sure what else we have planned, possibly just the meal. I'm probably just going to make her talk all day and try and force her to teach me some rhyming slang XD.

I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
Vicky replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
*returns* Vicky, your hair is epic. I've just spent, like, half an hour of my (clearly wasted) life going through this thread and you are still the most amazing person in it.
Why thank you very much, I'm quite flattered haha. Speaking of my hair, though, I changed it. Right now it's cut more choppy and crazy like (looks cool) and a bit blonder rather than the orange colour, but I don't have a photo of that. Me looking incredibly worried haha. And the otherside. Luckily for me the horrible greyness in my eye cleared up to quite black but you can't tell. I'm so lucky my hair falls over the blind eye XD. -
I so wouldn't run home everytime I wanted to kiss/hug someone for the courtesy of others. I agree that there's a limit but, unfortunately, my current group of friends are very open and we hang out in a bar that knows us. So you do often get those joking 'hands down pants' things going on >_

Writing The Otaku Prose Contest Round 1.2 (Chibi-Master VS. Anomaly)
Vicky replied to Mykul's topic in Creative Works
Both of you did a really good job. Chibi-Master, yours was a really good concept but could have been executed better. It seemed a little rushed and pushed along; you could have built things up better. Also, there seemed to be a lot of description missing, such as feelings, which would have made the story more masterful. Like I said, it was a very clever concept but could have won my vote if you played it out a bit more (such as the end scene with the knife. A little more detail here and there or a bit of word play, perhaps, might have improved it or made it seem less rushed). You definitely get extra points for the idea though, I loved that. Your concept was also very entertaining, Anomaly, and actually a similar thing happened to me once >_
