Why would you want that? That's just as extreme a view as they have over on their side. Extremism to fight extremism is not very intelligent solution.
INFIDEL! ...I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Raiha's post was a funny - I wouldn't worry about it =p. Personally... well, my views on this war is fully of conspiracy and paranoid thoughts. Although I'd defend that by saying it's not paranoid, just my version of the truth. The whole thing just bleeds lies and I don't know what to take as real or false and there's a lot of things people say about this war (like I've heard people going on about making Iraq better which I won't even go into a rant about) that makes my eye twitch. Personally, the losses on either side are sad and horrid. Bag of wank really, isn't it?
I don't accept the science behind wikipedia any more than the science given to me in my college and high school textbooks. It's a theory. Theoretical. And since we can't reproduce that whole 'making new species' thing I'm pretty sure it's as of yet unproven. In the same way we can't disprove it, just like God and the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause. Oh tragedy.
I only said Wiki because it's the easiest accessible, well known and all that jazz. I rather dislike the site myself anyway =p
God created the world. Theres proof all around you. How could nothing be created into somthing? If we came from monkeys, how come there are still monkeys? wouldnt they be humans like us?
You can't create something out of nothing, correct. Therefore you cannot have a God. Wait, he was always there, right? Then why is it not possible that some kind of substance, or some other form, was always there? Or some kind of Prime Mover that isn't your god? It irritates me when people use the excuse "You can't create something out of nothing, but God...". Christianity is full of making exceptions to the 'rules' - what's the point of having them? We did not come from 'monkeys' and Time Chaser has already stated - we share a common ancestor. You can look this all up on Wikipedia yourself. And your statement about Darwin has no proof at all and seems more like a little fallacy made up about him than anything else. You know, you don't have to be an atheist to believe in evolution, there's plenty of Christians who believe in it (though whether Darwin is an atheist is something I never looked up myself, best ask someone else).

Reasons for: You can buy a t-shirt for around 2 or 5 pounds and create the exact design you want. Or, you could buy a pre-designed t-shirt for around thirty to forty quid, that properly doesn't fit properly, and probably has at least something you don't like. Bad points: I suppose you have to be a tiny bit good at art, haha. Materials aren't a problem - bleach and marker pens work amasingly well! So, anyway, I'm sure at some point everyone has made their own clothes. I do quite often for the simple fact I rarely have the money to buy those fancy designs. And since I'm relatively good at replicating fonts from my computer onto t-shirts, it turns out alright. Unfortunately, my best piece of clothing I've misplaced (yeah I'm devastated) so I couldn't get a picture. Basically it had a phrase me and my friends found on a window ledge ('This is Manchester - We're all Gay!') on the back with a Goat skull underneath. On the front it had a bit of obscenity on the pocket (it was a shirt by the way). The collar is painted in checkers, as well. On the front, at the bottom, is the BLITZ (I make a zed-rule exception for proper nouns) logo (google the band or somet') and the Marilyn Manson Eat Me Drink Me logo above that is massive (which is basically two long dripping M's). Nothing on the other side though - it's all in black fabric paint. I don't have pictures of my new stuff because we've moved house and I've packed them away somewhere... so I only have my old, faded crap. And the bleached trousers... that's one of my favourite styles to do. Pictures: Exploited T-Shirt - Black t-shirt. The logo is an iron transfer and the xip was just sewn on. Black and White - These went with my black and blonde hair. They're just two different trousers stuck together... can't see them all too well though. Bleachage - What I normally do to my jeans haha. These were free since they were my brothers so I decided to hang them outside one day and grabbed a bottle of bleach. They don't look all too much on the floor but, apparently, they look rather nice when worn. Bleachage 2 - Actually these were the first trousers I ever made. Like normal I only bleached one leg after I had accidentally torn the right leg (and further rips followed bar the left leg). The underneath of it is a pair of trousers I bought for 30 pounds and, the next day, ripped on my in the most awkward places (crouch and near all the xips). I was insanely pissed so I just took the undamaged material and attached it to the underside of these bleached, ripped jeans. The back of the jeans are pretty torn up as well but I'm too lazy to take a picture of them... Viva Shirt - This is probably pretty crap compared to my current stuff. It's the first t-shirt I did and I was probably pretty young when I did it, 14 or so. It actually looks pretty good when it's worn, and consequently is pretty worn in itself. It needs to be thrown away, really, haha. I'll have to find my painted stuff again at some point which is pretty damn excellent compared to this junk. I did a really, really good Gorillaz shirt once - I'll have to upload that... I also make a few patches when things rip because I have the tendency to not care about my clothes. Anyway, this isn't a showcase thread for me. Anyone else tried their hand at making their own stuff?

I like leopard print, mostly. There's quite a few people around where I live who have leopard print tattoos, mostly because of the music background around here. I myself plan on getting smaller leopard spots from the back of my ear down my neck. Then there's a guy called Mikey who has a spiderweb on his head and some cool writing just at the bottom of his skull saying "where is my mind". Haha, that's pretty neat. We once saw this girl with an absolutely divine flower on her back with lots of patterns and symbols around it. I wish we had a picture. My favourite designs I've seen on the internet has to be these, though: Spider Man Chest UV Tattoo ...and this crazy guy.

ED: You should have like blonde or reddish-oranges tips, that looks pretty awesome. There's some guy out of a band who has (literally) three foot dreads with blonde and orange tips - it looks amasing (yes - amasing). In the interest of pictures I thought I'd put up a few of colour changes XD Purple and Blonde Mohawk Era Black and White Blue and Black, 'cept you can't see the black side Green and pink Some kind of weird full-blue Green.
Are you that oblivious to the thousands of children who have been raised by two parents of the same-sex to go on and lead healthy lifestyles?
Like the boy who went to my High School and got straight A*s (bar one subject wherein he got an A) and is now proceeding to be one of the smartest, friendliest, funniest children in his college? By the way, his father left him before he was even one and he grew up with two women (his mother and her partner). In any case, Esther's argument is pretty much right. I'm not even commenting on half of the pseudophilosophy/science Crimson is coming out with. When people say that children shouldn't grow up with same sex parents then I think that's devaluing homosexuals a little bit. The only problem is bullying, but then children wouldn't bully kids who grew up with two mothers if they were taught to be a bit more open minded. I really doubt there's any major scientific evidence that gay couples cannot raise healthy children. If you believe gay couples should not raise children then neither should single parents, judging by the 'logic' here. EDIT: Once upon a time I watched this one video that made me lol so much and was, by far, the most solid argument for gay parenting. I couldn't find it but I found one similar, not as good, that anyone who wants to be entertained can have a look at: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WYPVISQR9fY

The advantage of being the Book Keep in his village was that the library was instantly theirs; Dante had no need to deal with the soldiers every second of the day like others had to, instead he chose to hide away giving people the impression he was busy. He hadn?t realised it had gone far past midnight by now and he was still locked away, reading, nor had he realised that it was nearly morning now and the sun was rising slowly orange at his window ledge. ?Dante?? Dante blinked a few times to gather up his surroundings and make sure he wasn?t hearing things. He could feel a heat behind him and a light causing the books to cast shadows, to he turned it, blinking his eyes in protest. ?Yes?? he replied turning around fully. ?What are you doing up so early?? His mother, who was a tall and beautiful woman seldom venturing outside and accustomed to doing all the house work (even more so when the military decided to grace the village with their presence), was stood at the door with a candle. ?I didn?t realise it was morning?? Dante said with half a laugh. ?You?re not normally up this early yourself.? ?It?s the Lottery today, you see,? she explained with a say, ?and the soldiers will probably be hungry.? Dante frowned. ?I don?t see why they can?t fend for themselves. Well, at least something is happening today, I guess,? His mother sighed and leaned against the doorframe. ?I do wish they would make the age a little higher for that silly game? I?m not sure what I would do without you or your father.? Dante chuckled. ?Like any of us are lucky enough to win?? ?Well then I hope we?re the unluckiest family in the world,? she replied with a smile, ?better get started. You get some sleep, Dante.? Dante closed his book and shot up. ?Hang on, I?ll help you.? * The festival wasn?t due to start for another hour to two so Dante decided to wander around for awhile. He managed to meet up with a boy called Io, who had been for some years Dante?s only friend (except the people he knew by name or reputation). Io himself was incredibly popular amongst the village and the younger children or teenager his age, but he was often content in sitting with Dante. ?Pretty bland this year?? Io mumbled sat on a fence beside Dante (he was considerably bigger than Dante even though he was younger, and much more of a rebel than Dante could hope to be). ?It always is up here. Everything has to be rigid and formal.? They watched from the fence at the main road up a head, where the festival (loosely called so) would mainly be held. The villagers would put up banners designed by the artists which always looked graceful to the eye and a dozen posters of yet more artwork for the parade. Every year those in charge of the textiles in the village would parade their fashion down the main road and there would be formal cheering, clapping and laughter, like some sort of old-fashioned twisted little parade. When that was done they would make their way up to the village centre, where the Lottery would be drawn. ?It?s a bit of a contradiction to be celebrating something people never return from.? ?You mean it?s an oxymoron?? Dante corrected. ?Yeah yeah whatever. Just something bad obviously happens and no one every wants to talk -? Io paused when two soldiers walked past, eyeing them, ? ? about it. You never know what?s going to happen over that wall.? ?Well something good might happen. You don?t know that either and you can?t tell me you wouldn?t be pleased at winning.? Io laughed. ?If I won I wouldn?t be complaining. I just want to see what?s over there, really.? Dante rolled his eyes. ?What? You?re not interested?? ?I am a little, I would just rather stay here.? Io clapped a hand in his shoulder and laughed again. ?Yeah, whatever. Come on, let?s go and get ourselves a good place for the parade.?
Colour: Have you ever dyed your hair? If so what colours? Length/ Style. Eh and I guess preference for hair of the opposite/ smae sex? What hair style do you find attractive I guess is what I'm getting at.
I can probably say I've dyed my hair more times than anyone here haha. If anyone wants to try and beat fifteen different colours (one year only) then be my guest! Same colours, I mean. I kind of alternate between one's I've used now and again. As for the entire amount of hair colour/products I don't know (and no, my hair won't fall out; anyone who tells you that doesn't dye their hair, does it wrong, uses the expensively **** stuff etc). Colours? List time! Purple Cyber Purple Pine Green Electric-Lizard Green Electric Blue Blue-black Black Brown Red Copper Red Dirty Blonde Peroxide Blonde Ginger! (bleach the black but keep it in for only about five-ten minutes) ... Sun Yellow (HORRIBLE) PINK! Some weird bluey-green colour Most of the extreme ones were after I left school. I normally have more than two or three colours in my hair at once though. The other week my hair was pink and green - the short side was pink the tips were pink on the long side and the rest was lizard-electric green. If anyone's interested I could get a picture off my mobile... right now it's 'pine green' but, because the hair dye is for African American hair, it comes out like this ELECTRIC, BRIGHT green stuff that borderlines bright cosmic blue. It's probably one of the best colours I've had. I also know what I'm doing with hair dye so I know how to make semi-permanent dye last longer than it should, and stop the colours from washing into each other. I also know to stay away from Stargazer, Live and all that crap. Crazy Colour, Crazy Hair and Manic Panic is where it's at (Directions is also good). My hair's been all these odd lengths, too, the best being the mohawk. Right now the left side is pretty long (to the bottom of my ear) and the back in the middle is long as well (will be growing and growing until the back goes into dreadlocks). The right side it about two inches long. I prefer long hair in girls. And multi-coloured hair.

What does your signature/title/avi say about you?
Vicky replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
My avatar is something I made some... hm, maybe a year ago now. For me and Andrew's Legion of Doom - I liked it so I figured I'd use it again. And I liked Spoiler/Robin in the comics. My title is often what I repeat when I tell people my nick name, or rather the name I'd prefer to use with strangers. It takes them about five minutes to get over it - one minute if they've got a sense of humour. And the signature is my favourite. For one, Goatotheism is to do with my RE lesson the other week. We were asked to sit on one side of the room if you were a theist, the other if you were an atheist and the other if you were an agnostic. I did sit on the atheist side because I had no choice and when the teacher asked us why I said I wasn't even an atheist. She asked what I believed in so I went "Myself!" and my friend beside went "does that count as a Goatheist?". Just picked up from there. Literally it's the belief in one Goat - and all the silly rules that follow. I also refuse to acknowledge zed [z] as a letter after a conversation me and Mr. Morph had haha. The banner is an old anarchist saying that can be traced back to a Taoist battle cry. I don't believe in any gods, or masters, or that anything should be placed above us (don't mistake this for 'no government or authorities w00t!' because I believe truth should be the authority, rather than authority as the truth). I wouldn't start trying to find plotholes in this saying either because I know what I believe and it's far more complicated than you can ever put holes into. I have no idea what my banner, avatar or signature say about me... just let other people say that really. Then the next two are just my clubs XD. -
So, I will definitely post the first part tomorrow (or tonight since it's 1:30).
Now, onto my next statement, Vicky, wow. That's all I can say. I agree with you on some points but others I'm simply stupefied. You ARE right about sex, it is boring, sex is simply that physical act. However I hope you don't find making love as boring. I believe they are two different actions. They are still technically the same act, but I believe that the latter is far more powerful and far more entertaining. I am going to prevent myself as you asked from saying anything about your performance or your partner's performance. I also think that it isn't a variable, at least with making love. I used to share a similar belief that it was the same thing only with someone you'd like to see more than once, I however had that forced out of my head. That emotional tie should be what brings that physical act to life! Whether it is a man or woman shouldn't matter at all. If you have that emotional attachment, run with it. I have been with both a man and a woman. I have had strong feelings for both a man and a woman. I let shame get in the way of one of those relationships. I wasn't strong enough to take the slings and arrows at the time. I have a lot of regret about that day, simply because i love a good friend if nothing else. I don't know, Maybe your feelings did not run as deep as you thought? I have had a couple similar experiences, thought I felt so much for them, then when the time came, that feeling was lost in bed. Just a thought, I don't want you to think I'm accusing you of not having ever felt love or strong feelings, merely a suggestion. Understand that I think it amazing that you can look past all of the physical and want to be with them purely for the chance to stay at their side. I know that I cannot live off only the emotional and metal connections. To me there are both a part of what makes a relationship work. I wish that you find a like mind Vicky.
Yeah, I pretty much get what you're saying here. My feelings do run quite deep, you see, and I know this because I've been with quite a few people and I can compare. It was probably only my recent girlfriend and another person (whom I didn't go out with) I felt this strongly for and I think the fact that I was attracted to them - and their personality - for so long implies something incredibly deep. It's like a connection with them that I have with no one else, because I have friends I've known longer and know more about, but there's something different with the people I like. I don't believe too much in love, but it's the closest thing I've ever known to it, so I assume it's probably the closest thing to my heart (which is a hard place to get haha). The girl I'm with now I have quite strong feelings for. For the most part I'm incredibly cold to the point I don't even like my parents touching or hugging me, and surely I love them? I'll let her though, and I reckon I probably do love er. I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with her at all. So it isn't really sex because it's rather serious and means an awful lot, to her more than me, and it would count as love making. Still, I would much rather read a book with her sat beside me than do any of that. It's simply rather boring. The first time might have been pretty awesome, but sooner or later it becomes too... physical. I just don't like the physical at all, even with the emotional attachment there; I just want the emotion. I do pretty much acknowledge that if you love someone the whole sexual thing becomes a lot more intense and all of that. But it just seems a little too physical for me - I'm not really into that sort of thing. That's why I think love isn't between just a man and a woman, because I don't think love is purely just physical - on the contrary, I think it's purely emotional that simply enhances the physical. (By the way, the quote wasn't me. I don't get too angry about people hiding behind the bible when it comes to this issue because it's common place =p ) EDIT: Going in big size because this is rather important. Since the scriptures this law is based off was written in a time when Judaism was one of the only monotheistic religion surrounded by Pagans most of the laws are an attack against Paganism. If you don't believe me, allow me time to bring up the evidence. You see, the Greeks, Roman, Babylonians and most of the Empires that threw the Jews around in Israel had very little restrictions aganist homosexuality in their religions. The Jews wanted to be set a part and saw the Pagan as impure because of all the **** the Pagans had put them through - therefore, much of these laws are against Pagans and may not (or could have been - maybe god hated the Pagans too) have been directly given to Moses from god as just rules by him - they were a fight against the Pagans. Or at least, that seems quite logical and far more profound than the simple idea that came out of nowhere to pull judgement on the homosexual lifestyle. I'm sure... was it Deus Dog...? could back me up here. Where are you from? You seem to be doing the same AS course (or did) in Theology as I am =p.

There's one particular post I'd really love to tear a part but I'll leave it because the sheer attitude of it is rather irritating in itself. Nevermind. From the majority of these arguments even though I'm gay I'd have no problem getting into heaven because I don't have sex with girls (excluding previous relation). Why not? Because sex is boring. All the arguments about sex being this immensively powerful thing and the definition of a relationship is rather farfetched. Sex is a physical act in my opinion that's pointless and plain boring - I'm sure it's different if you're married, but oh well. I don't see it changing if you're in love either... it's still the same act only there's an emotional bond there; that bond will always be there whether you had sex or not. I'm sure other people enjoy it but I really don't. I wouldn't make any snide comments about my partners or my own ability, either, because for one that wouldn't matter and for two I know exactly what I'm doing. People are too attached to the physical and I'm quite indifferent to the thought of sleeping with a man or a woman - given the choice, I wouldn't sleep with a man. So physically, I'm attracted to women (they're fit!) but I can say a man is pretty or handsome without being attracted to him. I could and would kiss a man - maybe even have sex with him - but the emotional attachment that's there with girls wouldn't be presence. That's why sex doesn't matter to me at all; if the attachment is already there I don't need the physical. That, and, it's really, really boring.

Name: Dante Dasr Age: 23 Gender: Male Village: Thantos [Alaska - North] Appearance: Here Occupation: Libarian/Book-Keep [let me know if this needs changing] Background: The climate of his village left little room for farmers of any sort so and, as a result, Dante was blessed the son of trader who also passed time as an artist (also bringing in a valuable income for the family). Thantos was known for its craftsmenship - textiles, art, books and writers. Though often they would trade and find themselves out of the village, Dante was more of a recluse. He seldom had anyone to talk to, nor particulary cared if he did. His family only consisted of himself, his mother, his father and three older brothers, with no older family left around. There was never any tradegy in his life, nor any reason to hate or fear the government. His brothers moved away to another village in search of a succesful job (having nothing they could do in Alaska) leaving Dante with his parents, who had no desire to leave the confines of his security. He was young when he was appointed the Book Keeper for his village and doesn't think he'll be leaving his village any time soon. A few close friends have won the lottery and, as legend says, never returned; it left Dante thinking but never acting on it, because he truly wasn't stupid enough to go against the authority when he was quite content by himself. Personality: Intelligent and quiet. He very rarely starts a conversation and tends to mumble whenever he does speak, keeping his head low and staying in the background quite often. His true personality (as in his morals and priorities) is a well guarded secret, or so it seems, because he doesn't stay around too often for people to get to know that. On the outside he appears to be a nice boy, kind enough (if not sarcastic) with no problem taking orders, but the reality beneath the facade is unknown as of yet. Color: Grey
You know, who is to say that we are born imperfect? Perhaps we are in fact born perfect? Who is to say what is perfect in the first place, I think we are in fact born the way we are for reasons unknown, whether is be a plan of some God or the way fate or chance had intended. Modifying what you already have is nothing to be ashamed of. It enhances who we are as people. Now, do I think some people go over board? Yes. That's is my personal view or idea of what is beauty or art. That is all Crimson is saying, he does not favor the cluster of images, perhaps he is more inclined to the simplistic. The other part of this that annoys me frankly is that anyone who doesn't feel they need to change their appearance for themselves or others is lacking balls. What the Hell? So because I don't think I need to change anything to display the inner me on the outside I am less brave than others who do? What if I think there is nothing to fix? What if I understand myself and know there are things that I COULD fix but choose not to for my own reasons? Then I must be a coward? This thread is touching more on what rights people have with how they see themselves and how they wish to be perceived by others. You are asserting that certain people are something other than what they think themselves or how they wish to be seen. If you at all respect people who are modifying their body then you should think on what you are saying about those who do not. Just my thoughts, be careful how you ridicule another's thoughts or opinions, especially in a thread like this.
One. I said that people who modify their body to the extreme extent often feel they are born imperfect, I didn't say they all were. Two. I didn't say people who don't change their appearance don't have balls - I said it takes courage to do that to yourself, not in anyway indicating people who don't do it aren't. You can say that a Knight is brave without indicating that the Peasant is a coward. Read the post. Three. That last pargraph hardly makes any sense at all because you didn't read my post correctly. I'm asserting people have an inner image (assuming that's what you're talking about) because a lot of my friends who do body modification and many other famous modifers said that as well. When you cut your hair you do it the way you want - if you didn't have an inner image or any kind of image of what you wanted to be you would never shave, never cut your hair or trim your nails.
"Feeling the need" for full-body ink is ignoring the cause of the need. Someone's desire to tattoo themselves can very easily be linked to psychological issues like low self-esteem. If we want a full examination on the matter, we would pretty much have to psycho-analyze people with an unusually large amount of tattoos or piercings in order to discover if issues follow certain trends. For a personal statement, yes I do think that the majority of people who tattoo themselves beyond the third deviation have a problem, similarly to anyone who overly uses anything. Moderation is key, and if someone does not or cannot moderate, then there is likely an issue.
So people who do what they want with their body have a problem? People who try to improve themselves to the standards they set clearly have a problem, right? They just want to look good and how they see themselves. No one is born perfect at all (at least to people who are modified) and those who have the balls to fix the outer image to conform to their inner image don't have a problem, they simply have bravery. Just because it doesn't conform with your idea of a perfect pure inner image doesn't mean it's wrong or they have a problem. Personally I'm pretty offended and bewildered that you could even consider saying something like that. I'll say it again: I don't think anyone has the right to tell them what's moderate because it's their idea of what they should look like, not yours. And for the 'God made you that way argument' I have this. It's more like God gave you a mould and said, "Go on kids, use your imagination!". @ Raiha: Mister Rotten's chest art is absolutely divine. And I like his mohawk because it makes me miss mine >_
Pauly Unstoppable It's basically just how i feel i should look, when i see myself in my mind this is how i see myself, it makes me feel whole and complete, where some people will say the are adding to there body etc etc i feel i was born incomplete and through modification i am fixing that, making my external appearance fit more closely with my internal one, my internal appearance is not a fully clear one to me all the time, its constantly evolving, or not necessarily evolving but making itself more clear to me as time goes on, which is where the drive to get more modification comes from.
And also a variety of other quotes I could go on about but we'll leave it. The human body wasn't made to do a lot of things but we still do it. Why? Probably because it's socially acceptable. If the body wasn't meant to be a canvas, then why are a few tattoos fine? You don't have to fill in the entire canvas. I admire tattoos that are art above tattoos of your dead grand mother's name or something for 'sentimental' value (unless the sentimental itself looks like a work of art - not jabbing at you Darren, your tattoo sounds magnificent). How is a few tattoos more sensible than having real art on you? Most people who are the most tattooed men and women in the world use Pauly's quote - that they look in the mirror every morning and feel incomplete and their outer image doesn't quite fit the inside and fix that with art and modification. Everyone has an image, don't tell them where the line is, they'll simply cross it anyway and I don't think it's anyone's right to tell them where the lines is just because it doesn't fit with their own (socialably acceptable) inner image.

*raises hand* I think the idea is pretty solid and original. It reminds me of Doomsday somewhat - and violence or sex wouldn't scare me off, I'm more drawn to those type of games anyway =p. I definitely like the idea though, and at the moment I really can't be bothered with long RPGs (or anymore of my own) so a short one is perfect. One question: would the characters have military folks by their side whilst they're on the otherside? Or are they just going it alone?

I have a job and I'm quitting in October (I'm contracted until then). I can tell you I won't be getting another job in retail or something so god damn boring so long as I walk this planet. I get paid quite a lot for only working a few hours but I'd rather not have any money at all than work. If I'm going to work, I plan on doing something in creative writing (maybe teach it if nothing goes as plans) or English. So I probably won't have another job until I've finished University and got my Masters Degree. Or Doctors in Letters which will take insanely longer and probably be more fun for me (if J.K. F-ing Rowling could do it then it shouldn't be too hard). A Doctors Degree in letters! Imagine. "Hi, I'm a Dr. er... Goat." - "Doctor?" - "Yes. A Letter Doctor." Besides that, if everything fails and I end up needing desperately to get a job or else I'll be out on the streets begging... ...I'd rather go out on the streets begging. Now this is for a variety of reasons why I prefer being poor over discomfort, but we're not getting into that (and it's nothing silly, mind you).

The problem is with humans we're insanely arrogant. We think we've got the Universe in a nutshell and, therefore, we've figured out the answer (like you said Maths doesn't change in the Universe - that's a human assumption). Our understanding might be completely wrong - you said that there's 'only elements in our periodic table'. How do you know? How do we know? We haven't even been outside the confines of our own solar system. We use telescopes and science - human understanding - to make sense of something we can never touch or see with the naked eye. That, and, our own senses often deceive us. I just think as a species we're very limited and set in the 'science proves all' theories. Science is our understanding, and it can make sense of the planet we live on, but the Universe is another story. That's why I think aliens are out of our wildest imagination, because we're too confined to our own little world of science and human knowledge that we probably wouldn't be able to comprehend anything that slightly breaks the laws of our 'truth'. A lot of what we think is logical and true could very well be completely stupid. Which pretty much neglects most of what I said in the first paragraph or so of my previous post, but I still stand with this explanation. The Universe might not even be that big at all - maybe it really is only as far as our eyes can see. Give it a few millenia then maybe human understanding and our ability to make sense of things can be trusted. As of now, we've got nothing.

Of course there's 'aliens', but they're absolutely nothing like anything we could even imagine, I think. The factors and conditions needed for life as we know it to evolve would be immensely difficult to find, and in the Universe we've mapped there's not many planets out there with the same conditions, let alone intelligent life (probably not even simple life). That, and, the nearest solar system is 4.2 light years away. If aliens did exist like the movies, it'd take too long for them to get here (you really think objects can travel at light speed?). The size of the Universe makes it entirely possible and probable for there to be aliens. That being said, the size of the Universe makes it nearly impossible for us to ever see, hear, let alone make contact with any of them. I'm not talking green men, I'm talking creatures whose very existence would be beyond anything we imagine - then again, you could argue that the Universe is so big that a duplicate planet is slightly possible as well. Nevermind. Again, I'll bring up the fact that they'd probably be like nothing we've imagined. They might not have reasoning, they might not even have a brain, or intelligence, they might not even be there physically... anyone who thinks aliens who contact us will actually be able to communicate or even realise what the hell we are has a screw loose. If you think culture difference on this planet are vast, then just imagine the differences between two species who evolved under completely different conditions on other sides of the Universe with completely different... You get me anyway.

To back up what Raiha said, piercing guns can sometimes tear up the inside of your ear (or where ever it's done). I've had two piercings (same place) and the first time it was done at Claires - the inside of the hole was ripped to shreds and I was in agony when it was healing. I couldn't put the piercing in (or it was very difficult) because it wasn't in a straight line, either. I pierced my ear a second time myself but we won't go into what happened there >_< Though I do miss my ear piercing (only one ear mind you - right one - because I'm very defensive about my other ear).
