I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
Vicky replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
Two new pictures for you all ^_^ everyone's looking cool and artsy and usual though. Too much hairspray. No mohawk =O. Darren, you look quite scary and angry in your picture, haha. Maybe it's just the blueness though. Who did you kill? =p -
Sorry I've been off OB for some time, I have a lot of work in school to catch up on. I should be posting tomorrow or tonight, if not then Monday when I get a new router for my other laptop. Sorry guys ^_^;;

Silly people XP. If anyone's lost in the game and wants to be involved, come to the parade! Dani's going there next posts. I'll also be sorting out the characters at the end of this chapter, to see who's staying in and who's out. I may or may not be replacing people.

I had loads of characters that were my favourite - Deacon from the Doomsday Redemption, Tala-Taima from the Brotherhood of the Wolf, Guar Guerra from Battle Stations, Jake from the Genesis Corporation (I liked Anomaly's character from that game too, shame the game didn't work out) and my little Lex guy from This is Earth. I like too many of my characters, really. But my two favourites... Dani Anderson! He's been in Gifts and Curses twice and was primarily based off the lead singer from Cradle of Filth, because I always found that man interesting. Other than that, I like Dani because he's one of the most dangerous characters I created - he's ain't all mighty and powerful, but he's definitely not someone to be trifled with. There's also a little bit of me in there... which we won't talk about, especially the accent and British-ness. And an older one, Sarek Luther from the Sands of Time game. Like Dani, he was dangerous, and he wasn't nice but he wasn't evil. Sarek was the last human alive, I think, and he wasn't as close with the other crew members as everyone else. I think I'd love to re-do him again sometime because he did develop quite far for a short time. He was just totally fun... I mean, he was pretty much blind and lived in freezing cold conditions ridden with monsters and creepy-crawlies, so he was pretty intense on the battle front. I do often like a lot of characters other people create, though. A definite one would be Charles, Ozy's character from Gifts and Curses (Dani and Charles was one of the main reasons I decided to do a second game). I loved playing out scenes with our two characters because something funny, yet serious, would turn out. Revelation's character was also one of my favourites in the game... and I did quite like Eden, as well. Not to seem like I'm picking favourites out of my friends, but I normally like Blayze, Ozy and Allamorph's characters... partly because I don't get around as much as I used to. Blayze normally has these really gruff sort of... well, I don't know, sort of 'Serenity' characters which I like and Ozy just generally makes characters I like. Allamorph puts to much effort into his characters to be ignored so he gets thrown a bone =p. ...And there's also KKC. Where ever she went, I loved her characters because they were fun - SO FUN! I should probably read more RPGs though.

*Scratches head* Don't know if this problem has already been addressed, but I just posted and it appeared in my screen (actually it loaded a blank page when I posted but when I opened my thread my last post was there) but hasn't shown up now I've searched for new results (think someone's already mentioned this). Also, I edited the first post of the Gifts and Curses thread, and now my first post seems to have disappeared =/ ...I hope it comes back because I don't have another copy @_@

Chapter Two ? The Hunter Maybe it was going to start all over again. Maybe he didn't get a break, afterall, because he simply didn't deserve one. Maybe he shouldn't have thrown the Zodiac, as she clearly was, out of his window. Maybe he shouldn't have done anything at all - he should have sat there from day one of his powers and decayed into his chair turning into a grotesque carapace that traps whatever it is inside that wills for freedom. Maybe he should have brought some money with him before he stormed outside... He slept too little, this creature, and thus a chilly morning wasn't something refreshing to him as he was often out here on his own. He was sat on a rail some distance away from a long, dark river, a set of abandoned industrial estates and factories behind him. Ever since the new policies being introduced by new leadership, old ideas of regenerating an area or even keeping such factories alive were lost; the riverside now was dead. Dani took a long, long drag on his cigarette and flicked it out of his fingers even though it was only half smoked. He hoped it ignited the long grass on the riverside and set fire to the dead factories, to give it at least a tiny glimpse of life. He toyed with using his powers to force such a result, but he wasn't that desperate. There was at least one thing he could look forward to: parades. It was a known fact that, all the way on the otherside of the city, a large parade was held travelling down the coast. Dani himself found the brightly lit spectacle annoying and pointless, but the amount of people who turned up to it was astonishing. If anything, he was sure to find some more of... 'them'. In all this knowledge, the Zodiac were never far from each other. If he was going to go through this again, he wasn't going to be the last one to all the action. He propelled himself off the railings and took a walk down the stone path under a graffiti bridge, shady and lonely, but he definitely didn't look out of place in the dark. He kept his hands in his pockets and his head lowered slightly, his jaw tense as he thought about what he was going to do now. The very idea of actually settling down by himself - no stupid powers and no stupid kids behind him - was an absolutely alien concept now. They never got a rest, really, they either died or kept on living. Dani supposed some of them had a fun childhood without the curse of their marvelous powers, but he certainly didn't. What a cheat. Walking out of the otherside of the bridge onto an almost matching path and matching riverside he had failed to notice a daunting shadow belonging to a man who rested his back on the bridge's entrance. Dani was startled to catch him in the corner of his eyes, stopping momentarily. Dani breathed in a sharp breath, this huge hulking man leaning against tiled concrete with drastically long dreadlocks and a blank look in his eyes. Dani, a strange creature himself, found this guy ever weirder - weird that he didn't see his shadow, weird that he couldn't figure anything out about him. Dani began to walk backwards, just in case this was a threat, and as stood as he did the hulking individual turned his body under the bridge and stalked away, a slight limp on the left side of his body. "Fuckin' dealers..." he mumbled under his breath. At least, that's what he was going to assume this man was. There wasn't any kind of description Dani could stick to him, so he just assumed he was a dodgy sort of feller, who minded his own business and made a lot of money scamming kids and deprived teenagers. Which Dani would not complain of, since he frequently did that himself. He rubbed his nose and eyes tiredly at the edge of a road waiting for the cars to sail by and allow him across. It took longer than usual so he walked into the middle of the road in front of a slower car, who did indeed stop and even beep angrily at him, Dani responding with a causual two-finger salute and a slurring insult under his breath. The coast was far away, and by the time he got there the deathly cold morning would have turned into the afternoon for him, amidst the celebrations and sunshine. He wasn't really looking forward to it that much, hence the sulk he possesed while carrying himself down the streets, darkly. And all that time, his mind seemed to dwell oddly on the silly dealer he had came across at the river...

Well, you know, I have a thing for Revelation and Raiha... ^_~ ...just not you =p

I gots it. I'll be posting the new chapter tonight, for those still involved XD don't worry, if anyone wants to drop out I'll get us some replacements. We'll move along. Chapter Two, the Hunter, is fairly straight forward. We're going to introduce a character called the Hunter, who can appear at any moment in anytime. Like I said, I love getting characters together, so the Hunter can attack you or even talk to you. He'll be present in other chapters as well. Also, they'll be a parade at the Coast of the city which my character and others can take a look at, wherein the Hunter will be present (and may cause some trouble). Basically, keeping going about your business, guys, and we'll figure out something from there. The parade is also a good chance for your character to get back in, Raiha. As for his description, we'll go for a hulking African-American sort of feller, shall we? Let's give him nice long dreads, too, because I like dreads. Anything else can be up to you and we'll collaborate. Don't worry about the vagueness of this chapter, we'll just keep posting and we'll keep this one long - eventually, I plan to have each character see or meet the Hunter and numerous characters having met because of him or other reasons. Also, you can keep the theme for 'missing items and dodgy history' from the first chapter. I'll be posting tonight. Any queeessstttioons? And sorry for my massive leave of absence, like a few people who talk to me often on MSN or AIM gathered I wasn't that well at all =/

If this is what happened on Valentine's Day, I wonder what April's Fools Day holds for us...
-
Chill your beans Allamorph, I just noticed I was lying =p I have had waffles before -Aldi waffles - but I'm not sure if they count as food. They were absolutely rubbish and fell a part because they're cheap Aldi waffles. Either way, I wouldn't put those things anywhere near my eggs and bacon. I didn't realise I had ever tried waffles because the ones I tasted were disgusting. Incidentally, I will not be trying waffles ever again. Good day ^_^
-
Never eaten waffles in my life. Unless they have a different name here... waffles don't seem so interesting, anyway.

Wait, Valentine's Day is... gay? I've changed my mind. I know where I'm going this Valetnine's Gay =D
Hopefully not at the same time. What I wanna know is, why all y'all single emo people wanna be hatin' on the Valentine's Day festivities and what? Jays, it's like you all got this deep-rooted grudge against it just 'cause you ain't got that "special someone". For cryin' out loud, people, what'd we do in first grade? We made little construction paper hearts — or sometimes things that were supposed to be hearts — and we gave 'em to all our friends, our parents, our teachers, the hobos on the street.... Seriously. And then some addlepated fuzzbrain came up with this tripe called "Single's Awareness Day", conveniently abbreviated SAD , and turns the day into one inordinately gigantic pity party. My gosh. :p The way I see it, us single people can do one of two things. We can make it so we have fun just passin' out valentines to people, like we used to do back when we didn't know what emo was; or we can have fun watchin' people have fun. Enough o' this self-centered "I ain't got nobody to call my own" rubbish. Go find a Labrador. Or a kitten. Glomp somebody for no reason at all. Chances are if they're walkin' around alone, they need it just as much as you. And yes, it is Valentine's Day. Possessive. Not plural. :animesmil It's named in honor of people (martyrs, I think; check Wiki), and has since evolved (or devolved; whatever). It wasn't to my knowledge named because everybody passes around candy and chocolate and cards and money and flowers and paper heart-shaped crap. :p [/good-humored rant]
...Have you been drinking? Erm... I'm going to see a friend for pancakes and smoothies. I'm going to be happy, or at least try not to make any snide, morbid jokes. I might also go in school on Valentines Day - provided it's not a weekend. All I know is my friend and I planned to go out for pancakes and smoothies on Valentines Day. I do wish I had a significent other though. Or at least a [pretty] girl to cart around with me >_< EDIT: Oh, I forgot, I'm passing around Valentines cards to all the people who are homophobic in my school and passing around cards to people I hate, from people I hate. I may not be saying anything morbid on Valentines Day, but for the days coming up to it, I'll be a bastard.

I was going to make a big long point again to do with science and what we learnt for an A-Level class, but then I decided there isn't much point. See, I've noticed, in the evolution of this thread, there are half the people who have no idea what they're talking about and the other half who do know what they're talking about and seem to be backing it up with pure evidence and basis - the only thing that keeps them in disagreement is opinions. Then you've got everyone else who's making good fun of the situation ^_^ (Besides, the Simpsons has given enough evidence to the theory of evolution of these past years anyway, so I don't know what you're all arguing about =p ).
Ignoring possible racist connotations here, this is called "getting a tan." Not sure how it works itself into your genetic code, but it does.
It's not 'getting a tan', it is to do with genes and adapting to one's environment. If someone had two parents from Africa, but was born in... let's say Russia, then they're not going to be white. On an evolution related topic, supposing it's real, ape-like ancestors with hair would have had a white skin pigment under their hair, until they encountered baldness in which the skin would need to adapt to prevent low folate levels (assuming they lived in a place like Africa). And... you don't know how it works in the genetic code, as you said. It's basically determined by four to six genes that operate under 'incomplete dominance', which is why I'm pretty sure it's not 'getting a tan'.

England = Sausage and Mash. And I don't care what anyone else says - that's totally ours so get away. And the chippy is greasily English too. For the actual place I live in, as in area, I think the majority of the folk live off fish and chips or kebabs. There's like a chippy on every corner... you do get the odd oriental stuff, though. And Sunday dinners... you know, I think the majority of English food revolves around the humble potato. *Shrugs*

SHIT. We have an issue. More over, I have one. It's a very complicated life at the moment, really bad... nevermind that, straight to the point. I'm having trouble getting a new chapter up. And I don't think I'll be able to... maybe in a few days. So everyone, keep posting if you can. Try and group together some more if you wish. Sorry about this =/
Example? Sure. Wikipedia on the 2nd law of Thermodynamics Pretty fancy language-talkin', huh? Well, here's a paraphrase: Things break down over time. Rock erodes, plants wilt, and organisms die. evolution speaks of things advancing over time, which is contradictory. Also, evolution is based on mutations. However, most mutated animals studied today cannot reproduce. And finally, in the vein of the mutation theory, that would mean that at some point along the line, a Manatee decided a giraffe neck would be useful.:smirk:
It's passed on through genes and whatnot so it doesn't matter if things 'die'. The strongest survive in their environment; giraffes didn't decide they wanted long necks, the giraffes with longer necks survived because they had an advantaged and passed on that advantage to their offspring.

I think my family evolved from goats. We've got similar characteristics =). Anyway I do believe in evolution. Everyone says "but people believe what scientists say like the bible to!", the only difference being science actually attempts to have a logical explanation other than 'omnipotence' and what have ye. You don't even have to listen to scientists to come to your own conclusions. Besides, all those theories created years ago are taken as fact now because even simple school children can do experiments on them; you don't have the believe 'just what the study says'. Although it's quite distinctly harder to do your own experiment and investigation regarding evolution, it's not out of the question. Just because you believe in it doesn't mean you follow science blindly at all. To be honest I'd rather believe any explanation other than 'God'. I just feel (to me) that's a silly way out of the explanation.

Weeeeell on one note, new chapter tomorrow: The Hunter, introducing our first evil man and a few other stuff. You'll see. And we'll have to find some replacements for Sakura and Doukeshi =(

Discuss Idea: Ridiculously Over-powered and Mature Kiddies RPG Anyone?
Vicky replied to AngryBarista's topic in Theater
Not that there's a problem with this, but I've noticed that when you play a role of a 17 year old with a 29 year old personality, the age gap within the character clashes, and you can't really get into it. Feel free to correct my wrongness here if you can do so without flamage :)
Do you mean the player can't get into their character because of age differences? If so, then that's pretty irritating, because I'm sure I can pull of a 25 year old better than some writers who appear on here who are actually 25. That being said, so can half the underage population of role players. If you don't mean that, then fair does and I apologise. I think I'm just pointing out the vagueness some people have already commented on. And why do I keep hearing my game popping up and about? Not that I'm obsessive, though I am a little paranoid now. I hope no one seriously means me. If you actually do, which I have no idea if you do or not, then go ahead and say. I'd also be careful about how you worded the first post, mate - it was quite easy to take offence. Those "lacklustre" RPGs are written by writers (duh), and I reckon openly insulting their work is a very dangerous area to trek into. Like everyone else said, do something about it. You make friends through RPGs, that's why your 'friends' are drawn to your RPGs. And I know that half the time a lot of people who I've RPGed before join my RPGs, one after the other sometimes, but guess what? That isn't my fault at all. Let them join it. I haven't changed my style of RPGs in years - only the stories. Maybe the style draws the same people. I'm clearly welcome to any new ideas - you know half the RPGs here throw away Newbies and tell them to 'get lost' or something. I give new players a chance more times than I actually should. New faces, new friends, and you can help make a really good RPGer. If I didn't give a new face a chance, I'd never have met Darren - I had no idea how good he was, never read his posts before. He's awesome. Same for half the other friends I made. People are drawn to their friends RPGs, or anything they find interesting. That's something everyone has to admit. Here's the solution: makes friends, make good RPGs, come up with ideas, and even propose making an RPG with other players in the arena. And can people stop making me paranoid, please? I'm not even sure what's going on. If anyone actually was insulting me/my game/anyone elses for that fact then at least say it openly, alright =/. It's not as if I greatly care all that much (I think I care enough to make a few points of defence, but that's it). -
I tend to get the feeling all the time. Hmm. Especially when I'm around people, or when something really stupid happens that upsets me (like when people fall out, I have this 'doom' feeling like the world has ended and I'll stay like that for days - and I probably don't even know the person that well). Or when I'm alone, and it's normally an over powering feeling of impending doom so I just lay there and don't do anything because I really don't want to make myself feel worse. I get it when I go out to meet my best friend for no apparent reason. I have it at the bus stop sometimes and quite often in lifts - so I don't use lifts. There's probably loads of instants in every part of the day I feel nervous, which sadly isn't as bad as it gets. I get around people and often when I'm on my own, so I guess you can see my problem here. I haven't quite figured a way to get over this yet. Well, nothing I want to mention here, my own remedies include keeping quiet and thinking, playing drums maybe, or hitting things. Hmm. To be honest I think they have a completely different name for it...
-
Of course I'm totally unique and individual. I have a mohawk. *rolls eyes*
