hate to hit of subject but for the majority of emos who think emotional pain +steak knife(wrists)=no more emotional pain. for me (if i was emo. which im certainly not.) emotional pain + steak knife(wrists)=wtf did i do that for now i have both!!! sry for the venting. matt
On a completely different note, what's the need in that? Emos have nothing to do with canes O_o;; I think you should meet real people who self-harm and then tell me what that has to do with your idea of emos and canes. And on subject... I love it (*coughAvengedcough*) when people repeat almost exactly what I say! ¬_¬

I can actually keep up this time around, haha (not that it was anyone else's fault other than my own, mind you). So yeah, post more, like now >=O. It's definitely a great read and I could probably repeat what Gavin said in different ways and words, but I won't. ^_^

I'm sure there isn't a moderator with a personal vandetta against you. Well anyway, in response to the RPG thing, it isn't hard to post 3 or 4 paragraphs. The simple fact is, there are millions of sites out there where one or two lines per post is acceptable - I'm not saying "go somewhere else", I'm just saying OB isn't exactly your run of the mill forum (especially when it comes to role playing). It isn't normally about quantity. The issue of mods closing RPGs on the grounds of not enough information is that less than three paragraphs is normally not good quality. Not quantity, quality. There have been RPGs that don't have a background and just a bit of information in the thread about what characters need that haven't been closed because, despite it's shortness, shows quality. No one on here's a machine (well... I say that) but people can improve. If you're led to improve your skills and RPGs so they don't get closed then believe me, it'll be a lot better than pushing and pushing until someone lets you run a low-quality RPG. Then after awhile you can right 3-4 pages per post, let alone paragraphs.

It made me the opposite of Peter Pan. I grew up (also I'm a girl, but OB didn't make that). Yeah. The whole writing thing as well. I met new people here, new ideas and even learnt a bit about culture. Mostly, though, I grew up, somewhere in the first year and it really has affected my life insanely. I get people telling me (teachers and whatnot) that they can talk to me like an adult, and whilst still being stupid and fun with my friends I think I can... be a grown-up. Obviously it would have happened at some point, just OB made me grow up quicker. Oh, and I'm terrified and some types of people thanks to OB >_>;; it's complicated.

Legal Name: Daniel Anderson D.O.B./Age: January 10th, 74 [Admitted age 72] (Capricorn) Date Admitted: September 12th 2048 A highly dangerous, violent patient released for a short period after a year and released indefinitely in the second year. The patient has a history of OCD and a family history of schizophrenia and manic depression and has been tested for both, though current symptoms point to no solution. Patient’s symptoms can be described as dissociation, perfectionism, violent outbursts, insomnia, paranoia, agitation and major depressive episodes. The patient was admitted after being arrested on account of assault, robbery, substance abuse and attempted murder. Television was mind-numbing bullshit, fallacies and lies. There wasn't much else to do in this place, though, except maybe stare blankly at a white wall. If you behaved yourself, you could almost act like a normal person, ignoring the fact you were sharing the couch with at least four other nutcases. It took Dani a year to convince people he was only dangerous when it suited him... and, of course, he wasn't insane at all. They just didn't get it - but how did you explain that you could turn their minds inside out without them thinking you were crazy? Dani wasn't really watching the television. He was staring behind it, at the wall, while a slightly larger, possibly weirder man sat beside him intently studying the cartoons. Dani glanced at him with icy blue eyes for a moment, rolling his eyes and scoffing each time. These people were so easy to amuse... Dani didn't know what the fuck he was doing here. All his life amounted to ths... Had he been young again, mentally since his physical age seemed perfect, Dani would have busted out before he even got in. But somewhere along the line his self-esteem got shot, his mind went blank like a storm destroying everything that would have been him fearsome and cruel. Now his motivation was dead and buried, like a man on an everlasting come down from speed. The humour and joking was aside after all these years; he'd had it, no more playing. If he ever became motivated again to what he once was, all that would remain would be a bitter resentment of the past, hate and... well, it wasn't a far cry from his younger years... he supposed. He didn't want to watch the crap on TV anymore. No, he didn't want to watch it. It was noise, irritation, silly. Sighing, he raised his hand slowly, passively flicking his wrist. The screen became a bleak darkness for a second, before bouncing into static. The man beside him stared at Dani, having watched his every move, and Dani turned his gaze to him, coldly, daring the man. "Nurse!" He had stood up, eyes still on Dani, perparing to tell the same story to the nurse every week; "That man's a sorcerer, he is! Black magic!" and the nurse would calm him down every week, and come and apologise to Dani, who would give half a grin and say he doesn't belong here. Of course, they didn't believe him. Dani liked the static on a television. It was background radiation from some of the oldest light in the Universe, not commercial bullshit rotting the brain. After fifty years, the world seemed to be turning into crap anyway, with new laws and government officals, countries and leaders becoming so close they may as well have formed a gay nation. Dani scoffed. He knew they were trying to create some kind of connection between all the worlds... so then where ever you went, freedom was far from the lands. "Daniel?" Dani looked up lazily, a doctor stood at the door, clipboard, long white coat, thick rimmed glasses, the whole cliche. "Can you come with me, please?" No, I cannot. Dani felt like saying. No I can't because I don't want to move and I'd rather just sit here because everyone took everything away from me. He didn't say it, of course, and trying to look in the best of health Dani followed him, lazily with his hands in his pockets and his head down. He followed only using the senses he had obtained, his ears and his head, not actually able to see the doctor. All became suspcious when Dani passed the wards and into a corridor that was so old in his mind, it was almost new. He looked up, noticing they were nearing the entrance. The atmosphere was so different in the reception. It was louder, buzzing, vibrant without a single scream from someone who just flipped their lid. Dani looked around, noticing it wasn't all that busy, just different. His eyes focused on the reception desk, seeing a man he was all too famaliar with - old now, paler, looking like he was in his sixties and signing some documents. Dave. After a small talk, a caution, a 'guide' book, a piece of paper, and a handshake, Dani found himself slumping through the front doors and stepping onto cold streets with an old friend. He had done his best to get Dani out, buying him an apartment and everything. Though Dani was grateful, he didn't speak through the entire journey; Dave understood. Dani was a bit broken after so long, though soon enough he would be the same. That night, Dave left him, hesitantly, and Dani would watch the TV's static. His eyes were hollow and he didn't feel like doing much else tonight, simply replying events over in his head. When he would grab a victim by their head, pull their face close to his and penetrate their eyes, seeing into the back of their heads and planting lies and hallucinations - enough to destroy them - or simply lifting his hands up and making the shadows dance to his will, like dark telekinesis... and some people, whom e had mixed feelings for, had obtained some of his own powers. He wasn't even unique among the Zodiac. And he wondered what happened to them... ...Some of them were dead. Some of them just died. Some of them left him. Some of them left a lasting impression. He would have the pay them a visit, sometime. * As a rather simple explanation, Dani’s powers are a form of dark telekinesis, physic abilities revolving around shadows and the darkness. The curse of Dani’s abilities is that they can never do good; his hallucinations and mental games serve only to hurt people, they have no healing properties whatsoever. Also, Dani is plagued by nightmares and disturbing imageries when he uses his powers (the basis for his illusions are from his imagination and parts of his life, and since he also sees these hallucinations they effect him as well). Due to his powers numerous physical changes have become apparent to Dani – his eyes turn black when using his powers, his teeth have shaped into almost vampire-like fangs, his skin has become paler and he is sensitive to the light. It's not really my thing, but I've been reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson, which has so far kept my interest by not being a scientific, factual book that's made it clear the author doesn't believe in God, while at the same time trying to keep away from religion (at least in the parts I'm up to). It's refreshing and definitely not boring since it's got so much stuff packed into it. Another one I've been reading is George's Secret Key to the Universe, though I'm not all the way through it yet. It's a children's book, but the physics in it is simple to understand and interesting - what do you expect from Stephen Hawkings? For a kids book, it's funny and enjoyable - not exactly ground breaking in story or theory - and that's what it needs. No one cares for science papers, children's books can teach old men physics XD A book I have finished and would recommend is Goat, by a strange guy called Brad Land. It's a vivid account of how he grows up in University, following his brother around and being attacked. It doesn't sound like a brilliantly unique storyline, but the style of writing is definitely something I haven't seen before. It's been one of my favourite books for years. I think I need to start reading again, so I might take on some of the books suggested in this thread =)

I'm here because it's my homepage and everytime I try to change it my internet browser crashes (not being sarcastic or jokey... it's true, my laptop just sucks). I look around the forums still because it's fun - I have a few good friends here, it's a decent forum. Other forums seem awkward, like it doesn't work - OB is the first one I've ever been on, so it kinda fits in. I do feel out of place sometimes, but I don't feel incredibly smart on here because of the vastly intelligent (or, the majority) people - on other forums I feel arrogant and out of place for actually having grammar that isn't sore on your eyes. I'm also here for the RPG and stories. I don't post much in the Anthology though I still read a lot. I don't think I could spell 'spell' if I didn't come on OB, and I most certainly wouldn't be able to write at all. It's a fun place. I've been here for awhile =/

I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
Vicky replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
So I dyed my mohawk. And I promise, ONE DAY, I will comment mostly everyone's pictures on here. You all look absolutely grand anyway, though right now I'm loving my hair too much NOT to revive this thread which may or may not be closed at one point =/ Ignore the silly grin. Directly shoved down from myspace, see. -
It's the whole Clockwork Orange thing. I'm mean, the whole idea of kids going out to bars, taking some drugs, beating the crap out of random people seems pretty accurate these days - the canes just took longer to catch on =)

Aries Taurus Gemini Cancer Leo [Poss. Taken] Virgo Libra Scorpius Sagittarius Capricornus [Vicky] Aquarius Pisces Ophiuchus [Poss. Taken] Oculus Dexter Oculus Sinister Long before the scholars and philosophers of mankind their came a great power from the stars in the form of simple human beings. These creatures, the Zodiac, saw that the humans had the potential to build vast empires and civilisations ? much like the Zodiac?s home world. Filled with the feeling of nostalgia and pride for stumbling upon such a promising corner of the galaxy, the fifteen Zodiacs stepped into the development of Neanderthals, only to turn them into men. In later years to come, when the scholars did finally evolve ? though ignorant and primitive they were ? the Zodiac had provided a great deal to start the humans off in their mighty civilisation. Although scattered, the Zodiac were enough to oversee the world equally, with the two deities known as Oculus Dexter and Oculus Sinister ruling the apparent ?centre? of the new world ? Babylonia. Here, the Zodiac would meet often, as friends and politicians, boasting about the new achievements their corner of the world would invent. To the world, the Zodiacs were seen as Gods ? interrupted and embedded into myths and legends, from the likes of Zeus, Hades, and even having a system of stars and birthdates named after them in later years. Although they had found great solitude playing the life of Gods, the Zodiac missed their home, wherever they had come from. As a tribute to their people, they Zodiac built a grand tower in the middle of this new world ? the Tower of Babel, a symbol to all that was lost. During a meeting of these Gods one day, Oculus Dexter, the twin sister of Oculus Sinister, proposed that they cease their God-like attitudes and instead lived among human beings as legends, instead of ruley Gods holding back their culture. The majority of the Zodiac agreed to this, however the small minority did disagree. Oculus Dexter then proposed, as a compromise, that they could live the life of Gods, but only the Gods a human invented ? she suggested to wait until the civilisations created their own fictions and then take the shoes of those Gods, if it so pleased them to do so. The minority were pleased with this and agreed ? except Oculus Sinister. When no one would agree with him, Sinister took it into his own hands. With the power given to him by his home world, Sinister destroyed the Tower of Babel in a single flick of his hands and a mighty gust of wind, shattering the trust and unity of the Zodiac. When scholars wrote about this action many mistook Sinister as a God ? just what he wanted ? and the description of the world separating into different tongues and cultures was true. The Zodiacs, having argued to the last of their breath, split up to their ends of the world, to all the mighty cultures that would evolve from one Zodiacs way as opposed to the other. Oculus Dexter and Oculus Sinister remained among a scattered Babylonia, fighting amongst themselves. The Zodiac were incorporated into many myths and legends as Gods and rulers of the stars ? Capricornus after the demon Baphomet, Leo having references to Jupiter and the twins having their own magnificent share of legends. The Zodiac saw themselves as immortal ? which they were ? but this was all proven wrong. In a time of great boredom for such Gods they joined the mortals, as men, and fought beside them. Even when they used their powers, the Zodiac died. The first to fall was Ophiuchus the Snake Wielder, as an Egyptian Pharaoh. In their many civilisations did the Zodiac fall, losing the memory of their own culture so many stars away. Although this was not true. When the Zodiac died, they were reborn, their powers manifested in different forms in different mortals. Great heroes across the globe would emerge from these beings ? Augustus, Julius Caesar, Gilgamesh, Rasputin, Alexander the Great? all reincarnations of these great Gods. Although the mortals rarely knew of their heritage, they did know of their power, which arose in many forms. As soon as they received this power they were Zodiacs until they were killed by mortals hands ? if the Zodiac had an heir, a bloodline, then their power would be passed onto the youngest. When the two longest living Zodiacs became aware of this they instantly became alarmed that their immortality was at threat. Although Dexter seemed rather adequate with the fate of death, Sinister was not at all pleased. The twins ? the most unique Zodiac of them all ? could not be killed unless the other was dead. Their campaign on Earth spanned only two reincarnations ? as well as being the longest living Zodiacs, they were also the most knowledgeable. In later years, Oculus Sinister and Oculus Dexter parted ways. But Sinister had a plan ? he would seek out and destroy the Zodiacs born with their new power, to prevent them from ever taking his own immortality away. He succeeded in doing this for three generations of Zodiac until the 21st century when he was stopped by a group of modern Zodiacs ? thus ending and beginning the twin?s third year. However, the new forms of the twins ? Oculus Sinister and Oculus Dexter ? manifested themselves with powers not even the Zodiacs would imagine. THE DILEMMA Almost fifty years on from the time in which thirteen powerful Zodiacs bickered, argued, battered and fought amongst themselves and, somehow, killed the two most powerful twins in the world, a new problem arises. Whether the Zodiacs be those who fought against Oculus Sinister (or, Quan, as he was known) all those years ago, direct descendants or completely different strangers, the problem arises once again. The twins were reincarnated into Mithras, formally Aequitas fifty years ago (Oculus Dexter) and Runihura, the former Quan (Oculus Sinister). Their powers are yet to be known. Unlike centuries ago when the two would walk among men and quarrel in the sight of mortals, the new reincarnation, Runihura, has yet to be sighted. However, the idea of Runihura staying out of humanities way is yet to be seen ? in actual fact, Runihura holds the most powerful position in the world, out of the eyes of humanity ? the World Bank. And as the nations of the world draw together to create one union ? under one Government ? the people think nothing of it but a glorious day. Only the Zodiac and a few other intelligent beings can see that something is wrong. It is not known how Runihura gains such a status, however it is known that history seems to be missing a few gaps. The power of the twin Zodiac seems to expand far beyond the reaches of the human realm. The world is dawning on a new age ? the world is ignorant to its leader, hiding behind the desks of democracy and Governments. The task is not to bring down the world and start a revolution, the task is to restore history to what it once was. The story and motives will reveal itself. THE ZODIAC If you were in the last RPG, you can play your original character. If your character is dead, you can play their immediate heir. If the Zodiac has no heir, the power is passed on to a completely new person. Your Zodiac power does not have to relate to your Zodiac element. Prior knowledge of the previous RPG is not necessary. I will leave a spot open for Mithras (Oculus Dexter), but Runihura is out of bounds for now. Your Zodiac is more powerful by age, meaning that the characters from the previous story will be more powerful. I don?t want this to scare off any new contenders, though, your characters are most important to the game. This isn?t first come first serve ? this is best sign-up wins. Whether the original players get special treatment has yet to be seen. The story is vague so far, but it will reveal itself later on. All you need to know is that the World Bank rules the nation, and the nations are becoming one, much to the ignorance of the world (except the Zodiac, who see through it). Aspects of time travel and history might be involved. You don't have to worry too much about all of this, just imagine, relax, and make the story go wherever we want it to go. Your gift should include a curse. For example, my character is very powerful, but his powers cause disturbing imagery and his powers cannot be used on people with good intentions. It fits in the title ?Gifts and Curses?, see. Have fun or I will fucking kill you =) THE APPLICATION Describe the day your character discovered their powers, or describe in instance in which your character uses their powers (second option is better for characters from the first story). You may provide an application form, including the description of your powers, if you want to explain more. I?ll post my sign-up later on. Send me a message if you need anything explaining.

I was waiting for Lady A to post something up before I started this, but she hasn't so I don't know how long I can wait =( Tomorrow. The sign-ups will be up tomorrow for those interested. Sorry for the delay =) (it should have been up this Wednesday but I was busy at a Manson gig grabbing his hand when he came to our side of the barrier and being pushed into his crotch. I kid you not - there is photo evidence. Hahaha, have YOU ever felt up a rock star?!)
Says the person with shades plastered all over her avatar and banner. =P
And face XD I like my eyes. My eyes are cool - this really bright shade of green. I can't take the sunglasses off, though, so I also tend to like sunglasses. They can hide important things, which just reinforces the importance of your eyes - so mysterious and intimidating when people can't look you in the eye when you speak. You just wanna see their eyes. It's just like women - you can be attracted to their body even when they're covered up... ...for lack of a better analogy =/

The fears repeat themselves with different names, so screw the names for now. I know what I'ma scared of. Churches. Not because I'm anti-religious or anything, I have the upmost respect for people who are brave enough to believe in something so profoundly (and not use it against others). I go to a Catholic school, too. I'm terrified of churches, though. I can sit outside one, walk past one, but I can't go inside one. I think it was a school project for our RE class to visit a church and note down a load of stuff and I couldn't go inside, haha. It was funny, though I do have an absolute, undoubtable, stupendous fear of churches. Fear of touch. Not one of the major ones, but I'm not exactly 'touchy-feely' for many reason, that being I don't like it It goes away with my close friends and sometimes people I'm in a relationship with, but I hate being touched by strangers or people I haven't known very long. I just don't really trust people at all. Loud Noises/High Pitch Sounds. Having the most oddly constructed ears in the world (more on the inside mind you), I hate loud noises. I can be loud, of course, shouting isn't a problem. But fireworks are my nightmare. I hate high pitched noises, I'm very sensitive to them... even though I'm a bit deaf anyway, I seem very sensitive to bangs and screeches. I think this ties in with my eyes... Bright Light. Actually a medical condition, so I do have the wear sunglases for migraines and other ill effects from the sun and bright light. Without my sunglasses, I hate bright light. In fact, I hate bright light all together. I've been avoiding the dentist for five months because he shines that light in your face - it won't give me a headache with my sunglasses on, but it will annoy me to no end. Plants. I won't exactly run away from a garden, it's more of an eating thing: I will not eat any form of plant life or touch my food if there's any plants on the plate. I HATE plants. Buuut I guess my 'philia' stuff is... Eyes. You know what, I love eyes. I'm obsessed with eyes - I love writing about eyes, looking at people's eyes, you know. Eyes mean everything. 'Gate way to the soul' stuff may or may not be true, but your eyes hold the majority of your emotions. You know people can't tell when I'm angry or sarcastic with my sunglasses on, but immediately can with them off? It's the eyes. Ginger/Red. Ginger and red hair. Mostly artifical red. I loves it ^_^. Sticks. How odd. Stickaphilia. I like sticks, I go on hikes and come home with a lot of sticks. Or branches, I guess, sometimes logs if I can carry them. I don't know. They're pretty stupid, being sticks and all, but I guess I like sticks.
1984 by George Orwell.
Seconded. I'd do anything if I were you, but some games I'd always thought of as movies are my personal favourites: Killzone and the Red Faction games. War games, shoot 'em up, but no crap like that Doom movie. You can have so much (or so little) on a movie poster for games like that - something creepy, action packed, something epic... you know? I think the most popular genre now... actually I don't know. What do I know, however, is sci-fi posters and advertisements attract more attention. I find that's the case, anyway. It's an excuse to use lots of flashy graphics, plus sci-fi is way cooler, it kinda breaks into every genre so you can do what you want.
-
There could be, I'll let you know when we start this thing. If I don't get a full cast of the Zodiac then probably not, if I do it's okay then. But you don't have to be related to the characters at all. It's three choices: your original character, a relative of the original, or a completely new character. The first two options are mainly for the original cast and for storyline's sake, the last option is for new comers (all three have a valid explanation in the story though).
-
Yeah, I don't see much in the whole next generaion after previous characters idea. Now, I'd enjoy being next-gen, but not a son or grandson of older characters.
That is mainly for the players who are interested in joining again, which is four so far, and also an idea myself and Revelation are planning on playing on. It's not so much about the 'descendants' and next generations from the originals, more of the principle of families and feud among the Zodiacs. I don't want a massive new storyline to develop with new characters, or else there would be no point in the first story - links and whatnot. A lot of things were linked together in the old story by culture and history, it's a fun thought to play on.
-
You know I would love this... But what do you mean, the new characters would have to be the heirs of the original? Are we experiencing a major time jump or what?
Well I mean like sons and grandsons, just as long as they're related in some way. It's the youngest direct line to the Zodiacs from the last game - so technically, you could play a cousin. Hope that's not confusing. I think I will be doing the time travel, later on. I don't know about the future, but defintely the past. We'll see. I wouldn't worry about most of the original cast though, a lot of them aren't around anymore =

I have three groups: School friends wherein we hang out in school, hanging around on the corridors and talking to the teachers in a non-geekish way. We sometimes go out together, but not as often as we used to. There's a group picture here from last year, minus about three of the group (me being on the far left against a wall haha). All we do is chill and take the piss. Then there's the drinking buddies. As in alcohol, duh. That mainly consists of... these guys, minus about five in this picture, haha. We chill in the city centre, messing around, drinking, chilling in skips, having a laugh, having fun in general, because we can. Normally the group for this is massive, back in summer there were about twenty or so of us hanging around down by a river, but it's not summer, you see. We sometimes end up staying out all night at a party if we can find one, or the older ones go to a club or something. It's fun. Really. The last is the Urbis kids I hang out with. I normally wonder on there when I'm with my friends on Saturday, and there's quite a lot of people on there. I know a vast majority of them, we normally go into the Arndale, get thrown out, and travel a lot (which I do with my drinking friends as well). No picture haha. So that's all I do. Hang out. Do stuff. Sit. Chill. Talk. Drink. Laugh. Get thrown out of places. The works.

Jake's right on Paganini's part, haha, he should have been mentioned. Not too keen on Vivaldi, though. And yep Rach, I did mean the Movie, heh. I also listened to what you linked to, Mr Maul. I'm not really that keen on the first part, though it catches my attention a lot more as it moves along. It's quite interesting really, I might look into some more. And as for Amadeus, I like the movie to... except... it was a bit 'dodgy' on the basis of historical truths, so I hear.

In contemporary classical, you can actually find a lot of electronic sounds in classical compositions. I don't have my old computer so I can't play the Clockwork Orange album at the moment, though I think the majority of the score is classical (save for Singin' in the Rain). The main theme, the March, is definitely classical but with electronic sounds incorporated into it. I think what they did was use classical and put the electronic sounds in where nescessary. A Clockwork Orange's soundtrack should indeedly be a classical score. If you like that soundtrack, maybe you'd like Requiem for a Dream. It uses a lot of sharp string sounds to make it sound uncomfortable, but still good with a lot of electronic stuff in there too - it's quite an epic score. Lux Atena, in that soundtrack, is remixed a lot and a remix can be heard on the Lord of the Ring's Two Towers trailer. Pretty neat stuff.

I think Moonlight Sonata is one of the favourites in the classical world, it's the sole reason I paid attention to the British Gas adverts on TV. But it's one of those songs where when most people play if for you, it doesn't sound right, especially the tempo. I mean, you could be playing it technically flawlessly at the correct speed, though it still sounds too fast/slow. It's one of those where you can have everything about the piece nailed on the head, but if you play it like a mushroom without the feeling behind it, it doesn't sound right. I think. You could probably find that with most pieces, though Moonlight Sonata is very noticeable - British Gas got the tempo right! XD Ludwig Van is also good for sick movies and books, haha. A Clockwork Orange has got me saying 'Ludwig Van' now - that soundtrack to that movie is cool.

Because there's nothing but metal and genre arguments here these days. ¬_¬ Hey, I ain't some sort of classical music know-it-all, but I listened to more classical before I got into any other bands and it's one of the reasons I'm taking Music as a GCSE. It's really a massive area of music, isn't it? But I'm sure we can make a topic out of it. Favourite composers, era, influence on modern music .ect .ect. Despite the crappy knowledge I do know a little bit, enough to know that early Romantic/late Romantic is my favourite, especially Ludwig Van for obvious reasons I guess. Mozart is alright, as well, though I definitely don't prefer him over a few other composers. Franz Liszt, again because I like the Romantic era best, is also another one of my favourites - sadly he doesn't have the omnipresent fame of Beethoven, well I think around my area anyway, so the underpaid twits in music stores don't know what I'm talking about at all =/. And Samuel Barber. Before the silly DJ Tiesto and William Orbit remixes came out, because everyone knows the one song (that being Adagio for Strings) and nothing else. I don't know what to put, really, being no genius at all. I'll post a list of more I like later. What I'm not too keen on, though, is contemporary classical music. Some composers are okay, though I'm more of an oldie - for such a young person - but I guess some contemporary music they use in movie scores are pretty neat these days. I don't know if it counts, but the soundtrack for Requiem for a Dream was pretty cool. It had the Kronos Quartet playing most of the violin parts... I don't know if it counts as contemporary or not, though I reckon a lot of the soundtrack is definitely contemporary. That's what my music teacher said =/. Bah, I'm not too fond of the new sounds anyway. Oldies stuff. I'll get back to you when I actually learn the stuff XD

Or rather, the Underground thread. I'll be posting the RPG on Friday, open for all the original characters or new ones. You can either play a relative to your original character (it must be their younges heir), your character, or if you're new to the game, a completely different character all together. Anything goes. There's room for around fifteen players this time around, and hopefully I can make a full-cast again. Is anyone interested? I have the storyline sorted, but I was also wondering what people thought about time trravel. As far as I've written, each Zodiac controlled a part of the world at some point of their life (whether they took the form of a Greek God or a Roman Emperor), so if we went back in time, we could go to all the different eras of the Zodiac. I was wondering what people thought of that, whether they played inthe last game or not, or if you think it may be a bit complicated. You can ask all the questions here, I decided to put this thread up as a sort of advertisement, you see =). Not revealing too much yet, though.

So I found my friend today. We had jokes with beer and prawns. Yes, prawns. And then he goes "Oh, I'm going to see the Sex Pistols tonight, but me mate bailed, are you coming?!" out of the blue. At this point I'm on the floor at the bottom of some stairs, my first reaction is something along the lines of "yeaaaaaaaaah!". Then I came back with three friends and decided to join in this thread again. I had to wait until they fell asleep. Old one when my hair was blonde at the sides and my cool gay slogan =D Just after the gig. So classy, I have wine. I look majorly rough and normal in my glasses... kinda crappy pic, but at least I gots my hair up. I need a shower... All better! Smell ncie enough to pose now *rolls eyes* It was an eventful night, the memory needed pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera at the gig, only after. If I had my camera today I'd have pictures of me in a skip, a bin, feathers hairsprayed into my hair and walking into [parked] cars. I'm a shame to the country, really. -
ooc: I'm a bit iffy about this post, so tell me if I should change anything. The HMS Legacy, a dominating ship in the British Empire, built on British land and ‘liberated’ by Marcus Stallion two years later. Although the ship now, after seven years, has been left alone by Britain seeing no reason to want an old vessel, the HMS Legacy still provides a home for the criminals and traders of the century. It may not have been brand new, but the Legacy was a grand ship indeed. It was only a third-rate ship of the line, carrying only two gun decks, but it was faster and easier to handle than any other ship the British had come up with, containing an impressive fire power but, more over, the cunningness and creativity of its crew. The decks were a dark brown, almost black, with only one white, the rest having been replaced by a midnight colour black due to the Captain’s protest that the “white made the sun get in his good eye”, and not having enough sheets to cover every sail on the ship. The afternoon was looking good, for once, without a sight of storm or even a wave above an inch showing anywhere in their vision. The decks were dry from the lack of storms over the night, the crew either lolling around or not doing any work at all, except for the very few who seemed to be more dedicated and loyal to their home. As criminals, the majority of them were quite young and tough – there were only a minority that were old, fat and drunk. They didn’t do much at all, except serve as a reason to throw people overboard in a fit of rage. Two sets of boots sounded across the deck all of a sudden, coming up the stairs and travelling on the starboard side. One pair of footsteps was distinctly lighter than the other, the heavier footsteps seemingly belonging to a man with a limb of some sort. Heavier as he was, the man also contained a loud belly laugh, whereas the lighter crewmen only a short smile. The limping man was Captain Stallion, a large, broad man dressed in a stolen admiral’s jacket from other twenty years ago, tattered and torn, as were his boots and hat with feathers tied to the side. His hair was a dark tangled brown, on his head and on the goatee, as well as his eye (the other having been removed some years ago, now covered with a red cloth). Although he limped, Stallion didn’t have a wooden leg which is often told of in folklore, he simply had a bad leg. Beside him was the woman fondly known as Kathy, protected entirely by the Captain himself for many years. She was young and strayed away from her days of Victorian dress and a women’s place; her clothes were cleaning than the Captain’s, with a long Aristocrat’s black jack and a cleaner hat. Her hair was cleaner, longer and a dark shade of black, shiny almost like the boots. She had a knack for keeping clean among criminals. “There’s sure ta be enough fear in there ‘earts ta keep ‘em goin’ ‘til the edges of this world, m’lady. Why on God’s Earth d’you suggest we be ‘eadin’ backwards?” the brawling man asked. “Maybe I miss British waters?” Kathy replied, somewhat more dignified than the Captain. He laughed. “Aye, you be understandin’ I be questionin’ yer motives? What after that nasty run in with them ‘ere French navy an’ those Spanish. Sailin’ near homeland an’ we’re sailing close to those twits. An’ I ain’t too fond of Spanish or French designs.” Kathy sighed, kicking over a sleeping sailor’s hat as she did so who was lolling over the floor. “We weren’t expecting anything like that. I don’t say we go right up and dock near mainland, I say we find somewhere nice, get a few British supplies, and be on our way. You know. The Empire’s a nice place to cause trouble.” They came up to the wheel of the ship, up the stairs and to a lazy navigator, who so far was sleeping on the wheel. “Ta think we could’ve bin searchin’ down the depths of the deepest seas for gold and riches, an’ you’re ‘avin’ me sail back near those waters. But aye, I suppose, it could be a good idea.” Stallion looked to the navigator, who didn’t stir at all. “He’s been asleep every time I get up here.” Kathy stated with her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow to the Captain. “Your call Kath m’lady.” Kathy grinned a wicked, twisted grin she always did when she got her way. She moved to the navigator, who so far smelt of the ship’s supply of run and damp, and grabbed the collar of his beige (almost brown now) shirt, ragging him up. The chubby man was startled for a moment, placing his eyes on Kathy. She hoisted him away from the wheel and, with a violent throw, launched him down the steps onto the main bridge. “Ya can go back ta likcin’ ya Kings boots in about a day, ya bastard,” the Captain shouted after him. “In fact, you can go early. Get ‘im off overboard!” There was a laugh from a few of the crew and one large, overpowering African man responsible for the discipline and gunning took up the responsibility of taking the (former) navigator by the scruff of his hair and, in one easy, fast twist of his arm, he threw him off the edge of the ship, sending him plunging down the decks into the North Atlantic Ocean with a joke of ‘man overboard’ from the Captain. “That was fun,” Kathy stated, “but now, I guess we’re short of a navigator.” Stallion nodded, almost philosophically, and gazed around his ship. “You there! On the mast! Get up ‘ere!” he pointed towards one of the youngest on the ship leaning against the main mast, who so far had no job what-so-ever and quite an overlooked character on the Legacy. He quickly scurried up to the wheel, narrowly dodging a few shouts and kicks from other crew members pushing him along. “We’re sailin’ Windward ta British soil, take the wheel,” the Captain told him. When the boy gave him a confused look, Stallion groaned. “North! That’a way!” he bellowed, striking the boy at the back of the head and shoving him to the wheel. “We’ll be alright, Stallion, just a quick stop.” Kathy assured him through the rustling of the criminals finally getting off their backsides to sort of the sails and decks out. “Aye, but I won’t be savin’ you if you end up lickin’ our Majesty’s boots like ‘im,” he pointed this thumb backwards over his shoulder, the water and man left behind in the sea. “I ain’t livin’ under those brain dead idiots ‘gain. There’s no money in the business of honesty.” “You’re so selfless…” she joked with a grin. “A pleasure, m’lady.” Stallion took a quick bow and tipped his hat slightly, before limping off down the main deck once again, shouting for the sake of shouting.
