1. We'll start tomorrow when I post =) Before I do, would anyone having trouble picking up from where we left? I know it's easy for myself, Ozy and Reve's characters, but I'm more worried about the big group. Everyone fine there?
2. My post will be up tomorrow or Sunday. Why not now? Because I have an essay on Oliver-****ing Twist (which is seven pages and only on the middle part) and an RE exam on Monday. I also wanted to discuss something here, but I'll leave it until after I post. Anyone feel free to make a post before me.
3. *Cracks knuckles* Okay, most of you know the idea. So now I ask with as much pride and joy as any RPG Creator can have: Who's ready to finish this? Raise your hand! Let the planning commence - the end is in sight soon enough my dear friends!
4. It was still awhile to wait. Deacon didn?t understand why the train couldn?t blow up and be done with it, then he could go back to sleep? for a few years. In fact, why couldn?t the entire problem just blow up and disappear? Oh, that?s far fetched wishful thinking indeed; though he?d much rather prefer that to happen. He was tired of everything already. He moved a strand of green hair out of his line of vision and adjusted the goggles ? didn?t want any sunlight to get in his eyes, now, he was nearing a dangerous age for the Vampires. Old bastard. Since his encounter with Faust Deacon had walked some distance alone along the barren land, with his hands tucked neatly in his trench coat pockets and his head either looking down at his boots or around to the side out of curious. He was in a much better mood now, he thought. Given he had walked so far, he had time to think about things, and be by himself. That always tended to put him in a good mood. An odd sound that was misplaced in the area he had been walking caused Deacon to come to a halt. He may have been getting old, but his hearing was certainly Vampire quality. He narrowed his eyes at the direction the sound was coming from. See, he was half way back to the city now. The dust was merging with concrete of what could be known as ?wastelands?, concrete that previously held buildings and other establishments (demolished in 2010). As well as a variety of left over building foundations, dust and weeds, there were a few trees and bushes surrounding a slight slope. Anyone could come up that slope and scare you senseless, and Deacon reckoned that was happening right now. Because he wasn?t entirely sure what the sound was ? maybe footsteps, or voices ? he had backed away somewhat. But as he did so two figures emerged, both of which he recognized slightly. That put him at ease enough to stay where he was, folding his arms and waiting for them to approach him. Deacon found himself grinning when he put a name to face he saw. ?Oh, well look who it is,? he laughed, unfolding his arms. ?Evenin? Deacon.? Ezekiel nodded slightly at him and stopped, probably waiting for see if Deacon would offer a handshake (why else would he unfold his arms, anyway?). Deacon, however, didn?t feel it was necessary. He diverted his attention to the man Ezekiel had brought with him, who he recognised from somewhere. Deacon eyed him for a moment, watching the man as he began to wrap his iPod earphones away. He gathered from him composure and general look that he wasn?t a Vampire ? or maybe Deacon was getting too presumptuous for his own good. ?Ah, right. This is Charles. You?ve met him before, right?? Deacon smiled, nodding slightly. ?Now I remember. Are you still a human?? Charles looked up, screwed up his nose like he was a little insulted by Deacon?s tone of voice. ?Human as I?ll eva? be.? Charles replied. Deacon tilted his head slightly but didn?t bother to try and agitate the human. He knew the species was generally easy to annoy. He decided to change the subject instead. ?I?m sorry I didn?t recognise you at first, Charles. You know, memory is damn bad these days; I end up running into far too many people. And I suppose you?re both here about the Drigg?? he asked, folding his arms once again. ?Well, we got a letter, about you?re little idea to the rig the tracks. Thought we?d come and lend a hand,? Ezekiel told him. Deacon shook his head, laughing. ?Already done it, and I ran into Faust whilst I was doing that. Half of the bloody Nicodemus is going to be here at this rate. I reckon if we wait around, we?re going to end up with a pretty huge force behind us. And when the bomb blows, it?s just more of us to take out the rest of the Vampires on the Drigg.? Deacon couldn?t believe what he was suggesting. Not only would he despise working with a large group, he also despised waiting. Great. Well, at least he wasn?t on his own in the waiting, now.
5. If anyone has a chance to post now would be good - I'm trying to get things back on track however I'm having trouble because of the IRL crap. Nefertimon, hang on a sec, for Allamorph in fact. He's come up with a pretty brilliant idea involving your character that could work. Don't think about dropping out yet alright? ^_~ Premonition, there isn't actually anyone to kill (not important characters anyway) as of yet, and I'm not sure there will be in this chapter. Only the few on the train that will possibly die in the blast. But, if you want to wait until the next chapter (which is going to have a much darker, personal theme) then there'll be a lot of free killing if kept under control. And yes, Drigg is a group effort from the SOLF. Apologies for the lack of direction in this chapter and lack of posting. But, if someone wants to post before tonight which I'll be posting that'll be fine. Right now I'm going to try and get this chapter done and have a slightly free chapter until everyone's comfortable then we can take on missions like these easier. Sound good?
6. Well I'm definitely liking the story so far, overally impressed in fact. It's a very intriguing idea you have going, I look forward to reading more. So, get writing some more! I would be... you know, all professional and critic a few things, but it's 1:30am. I really can't right now. Next comment? Yeah, leave it 'til then. And the pictures, too. They're looking brilliant! To think, I do actually have a jacket incredibly similar to that, you know... =)
7. Cool Videos? Try Marilyn Manson's Heart Shaped Glasses. The FULL video. I doubt I can post the link to it because, you know, it's 16+ and crap like that. But I'm sure if you typed it in on YouTube you'd get the full 8 minute video. Yes. I'm an immature fangirl, but I do like the video (and the song is growing on me). On the subject of videoes I can post links to... Deathstars - Blitzkrieg Went to see these guys live and the video has always been one of my favourites. Partly the drummer and the way the music fits in with everything... I wouldn't say it'd stun anyone who saw the video, I'd just say it's a personal favourite. Ukraine's Eurovision Entry Okay. So it's not really the offical music video, but this is great. It's like Hitler Youth with the Star of David on his head - in tinfoil. Crazy ****. Okay. I'll edit this when I find all the good music vids I want... XD But seriously. Manson. Now.
8. Deacon had risen to his feet slowly when he finished with the rails. He hoped that no one would come near the area, since it was obvious they would be blown to pieces by the blast. Deacon, however, wasn?t willing to put up a sign to warn anyone. What was to happen would happen, his only part in this would be the bombing. God, he felt like a terrorist again. As he was about to move away he thought he saw something in the corner of his eye. Two wars had taught Deacon to always trust your instincts, especially if it doesn?t hurt for them to be wrong. He froze, trying not to look at the figure he thought was there. Slowly he knelt down once again and placed his hands under the rail, as if he were fixing something. In reality he had pulled off a sharp piece of the device, slipping it under his sleeve. He then turned around and folded his arms. He was right. The odd lime green suit and elegant appearance made Deacon roll his eyes. Not that he knew Faust incredibly well, he just knew of Faust, as everyone somehow did. To be honest, Deacon had no patience for the man. Especially his tendency to just appear all over the place. ?Are you having fun up there, you old bastard?? Deacon spat, a bit too harshly than intended. The distance and Deacon?s shaded goggles prevented him from seeing Faust?s reaction to the comment, if there was one. So he moved forward. Deacon pushed his way up the hillside in a few strides, fully aware Faust would have done it in one. When he reached the top, he stood directly in front of Faust and folded his arms again, although Faust?s attention seemed to be directed to the sky. ?I guess half of the Vampire community is involved in this now. I don?t understand why my clan seems to enjoy telling everyone possible.? Faust?s head turned to Deacon, although he still seemed somewhat elsewhere. ?What, did you say, are we all involved in?? ?Fuck you, don?t pretend you don?t know.? Really, you would think a man such as Faust would be taken aback by this kind of reaction and harshness in Deacon?s voice, but he wasn?t. He simply shifted most of his weight onto his cane and titled his head at Deacon, which only made the boy irritated; he did not condole seeming like a specimen for amusement. ?We don?t seem to be very happy today, do we?? Faust asked, without waiting for an answer. ?Now, about Drigg -? ?Which you, of course, know everything about already.? Deacon muttered loud enough to cut Faust off. His irritability today was taking its toile and he increased his grip on the metal object he had placed under his sleeve. ?For Heaven?s sake, boy, will you drop that? You?re an old enough Vampire to know it will do no harm and you most certainly don?t need it.? Faust shook his head slightly and whipped his cane off the floor, beginning to pace around Deacon. Deacon threw down the metal and folded his arms again. ?I don?t have time for this.? He told Faust. ?Of course, you?re meeting someone,? Deacon?s brow furrowed. ?No. I?m not.? ?Oh, I thought you were?? Deacon sighed and rolled his eyes again. He knew now that Faust had stated it; it was indeed immensely possible he would be meeting someone today. ?I take it Drigg is carrying something important, for you to be planting such a device, and to therefore take so many lives.? Faust had stopped to look over the tracks, not speaking to Deacon?s face. Deacon just talked to the back of him instead. ?The lives of a few Augustine don?t matter for the amount we?ll be saving.? ?That?s not very? Nicodemus of you? is it?? Faust looked over his shoulder slightly. ?And you used to be such a lovely young boy.? ?Look, you may be respected throughout the entire world for whatever god damn reason, but I don?t have the patience for people like you. There?s nothing I can tell you that you don?t already know, there?s nothing you can tell me that I want to hear.? ?That,? Faust almost cut Deacon off, turning around sharply, ?that is a common misconception nowadays. We assume too much.? Yes, Deacon agreed there ? he also felt that Faust made him the most paranoid Vampire more than anyone else. Deacon knew full well that Faust was a very intelligent man; therefore he was always curious about his motives. He felt Faust?s intelligence made him more prone to toy with people, and Deacon did not like to be toyed with. He did, admittedly, feel slightly bad for being so snappy to the ancient Vampire, though Deacon really didn?t care now. Deacon stood in silence for some time, and so did Faust, for whatever reason. The entire time Deacon was looking down at the ground, from side to side and the finally up to the sky. He sighed and looked over at Faust, stood almost directly in front of the sun, his back turned to Deacon. Like a child giving up being stubborn, Deacon walked over to Faust and stood beside him, leaning slightly to try and get the man?s attention. ?Look, Drigg has Plutonium on it. The kind that?s going to create more nuclear weapons, more nuclear disaster and more trouble for the entire world. I?m waiting for it to blow up then I?m taking the Plutonium and I?m keeping it away from the entire world. Humans and Vampires a like.? Faust, perhaps, half-smiled at Deacon?s good intentions. ?But you?re a Vampire,? he stated. ?I have nothing to do with Plutonium, I won?t abuse it at all. Besides, I doubt anyone from the human side or the good-intentioned Vampire side of the world will have half enough brains to think of a good way to stop Drigg.? ?Yes, Deacon,? Faust seemed to be shaking his head slightly again, ?blowing it up is really a good idea.? Deacon narrowed his eyes. He really did not have time for this. Without so much as a good bye Deacon gave Faust the one-fingered salute, turning his back to the old Vampire and walking off at the otherside of the hill. Whether Faust would have uttered a word about the nature of Deacon, he didn?t know. Deacon had stopped listening. ---- OOC: Give me a shout if you think I portrayed Faust wrong in anyway. I know it seems as if I?m trying to avoid Faust, but you can bring him back into Deacon?s area at any time ? I just wanted to do something to show the rather pissed off side of my character =)
9. So I finally figured out what happens when you're trying to work on photoshop (with a bit of vodka in your system might I add) and a drunk 25-year-old punk is beside you complaining about British [strike]Arrogance[/strike] Pride. I don't know what happened with the Pride text, it doesn't look like that on Photoshop. *Shrugs*. It'd look better with the guy I originally had for the photo, but unfortunately he backed out because he hadn't had his 'hawk dyed ¬_¬ [-Pride-]
10. Just to make sure everyone doesn't think I'm quitting, there'll be a post tomorrow. And if there are any inbetween mine, one on Friday and again on Sunday (providing I'm at home). There's still room of course for everyone to post now, feel free to post something tonight if you like.
11. OOC: Apologies for the lateness. I didn?t have time to involve Faust in my post, so it?s not as detailed as it should be. I?ll give you the basics here; you?ve got two days to have your character find out about Drigg, start making their way there .ect. Nothing to do with ambushing the actual train should happen yet. Props to Ozy the banner =) [but that?s still Jesus in your Avatar Ozy] The constant beeping through Sellafield was an indication to all the Vampires. Although they did not fear the radiation, they knew better to ignore the alarms. When the mono=tone beeping stopped or changed pitch, they knew something was wrong. Whether they acted to stop it or not was another story. But, so far in fifty years, there has been no change in the constant beeping of Sellafield. Metal clicked against metal as the two Vampires, dressed in white coats and high boots though still retaining their Ancient Vampire charm, marched up the corridors carrying a large steel crate between them. Behind trailed a large, broad man with long hair flying past his shoulders, a trench coat that did not belong in Sellafield and a clipboard carried under his arm. When the beep sounded every five seconds or so, he blinked. Never failing. He stopped at the doorway and watched intently as the two stepped onto the train, carrying the case as carefully as they could. The neon lit loading room was full of S.O.L.F. Vampires, walking on and off the Drigg with various items and various intentions. ?We?re scheduled to set off in two hours and stop at the mid-point for escorts.? The trench coat Vampire stated to the two as they got back. The beeping sounded and he blinked each time it did between his words. ?Do we have the driver?? The two nodded and indicated to the train, wherein an odd looking man stood, directing people where to place things. The trench coat Vampire nodded slightly. ?Instruct him to leave the lights on. A Drigg driving by night is a Drigg driving to doom.? For the next two hours, Drigg was loaded and unloaded, although the only necessary item was that carried by the two white-coated Vampires; the plutonium present in the steel box. The rest was just a small contribution, and a means of hiding the only precious cargo that would be carried back to London. The neon lights that ran down the tunnel containing the long, heavy train and its exit began to change to a dark orange colour after the two hours were up. Only three Vampires, including the infamous eccentric driver, had boarded by this time. The others moved away from the train, further back against the wall and the lights. The sound of hydrroliucs and nuclear engines was even enough to drown out the bleeping. As it did so, the Vampire covered in his thick trench coat stopped his blinking. Even though he could not hear the alarm, he had no idea something would go very wrong. *** Midday. The sun was blazing in the sky ? like it always seemed to do whenever Deacon was out. He bit his piercing, a sign of annoyance from the heat, and adjusted his goggles to make sure they were covering his delicate eyes. After the information he received, the scorching heat of the outskirts would not make him turn back. Besides, it had taken him a good three hours to sneak past the heavily guarded boarders to London. Now he was walking on steep grass, a hillside that caved downwards to accommodate a railway. He tried to keep himself upright most of the time, but the bag he carried was making it difficult. Really, he should consider making friends? to carry these kind of things for him. Though he?d rather work alone. He was sure of that. He was not, however, sure how many Vampires would be involved in this so-called ambush. Deacon only knew that the train would not arrive in this area until after midnight, and that he was the first one here. There would probably be very little left of Drigg after Deacon had finished with his little trick. He let go of a tree branch he had been dearly hanging onto and let his feet sleep down the slope. Gravely stones and mud flew up onto his coat, which he frowned at and did nothing to avoid. He managed to settle himself at the bottle of small hill, touching the thick rail tracks with the edge of his boot. He sighed and wiped his forehead. Why couldn?t the planet be in another ice age? It would make his job so much easier. Down the tracks were nothing but emptiness on both sides. No train ever ran through, except the Drigg and other transports from Sellafield. It was kind of saddening to see the decline around the area. Deacon remembered it was once filled with industries? now? what was left of it? A track and a few trees. That?s all. He sighed again and knelt down at the tracks. Drigg would reach its midpoint at 0:00 o?clock, and it would reach Deacon?s position half an hour later. He grinned at this information. He doubted anyone else would know the exact times of Drigg, he had been to the tracks enough times to understand Drigg?s speed and bizarre schedules, even when Sebastian suddenly decides to have it move. The black bag he was carrying was set down on the stones and he pushed a palm onto the thick steel track. With another grin on his face, Deacon reached into the bag, pulling out a strange object that looked nothing more than a thick red old age digital alarm clock, with a few wires hanging out, too. With a slim hand Deacon managed to fit it under the track, placing the odd contraption beneath the steel. He pulled the wires up and twisted them, laying them ontop of the steel. The trigger was pressure, the pressure of a steel train flying over it. Not really high-tech, but the bomb was enough to send the front of Drigg hurling into the air like a blazing bone-ship, damaging the middle and obscuring any passengers guarding the cargo. The thought made him smirk slightly. Just a few more hours?
12. The piece has to be in on Sunday, right? Because I'm working on it all day tomorrow so should have it up, just to let you know so it doesn't look like I'm abadoning it or anything ^_^
13. Having no home for a few days did make it hard to post, but I did read every post. And I said the first chapter was a test, creativity does mean control, you know. I wasn't directing any anger at all, nor am I telling anyone to discard the characters they introduced, I'm saying try not to bring in anymore and try to leave the presence of the NPCs to a minimum. To get something clear, my own posts didn't unite the Nicodemus because I didn't want to push myself into anything. Like I said, I was looking at everyone's posts. Some characters interacted with each other perfectly without me having to tell them to do so - that's what I wanted to see. If I had thrown Deacon at a few characters, then it would be unfair on everyone else. I told no one anything at all and Ozy, who would probably have it harder than most considering her character is a human and has no involvment in any clan at all, got it right. I did not tell the Augustine anything at all, but they managed to sort out the entire idea for the organisations themselves. I'm not having a go, I'm just justifying the lack of direction. I don't like directing absolutely everything - I'm seeing who I can trust with the ideas of the game, seeing who I can let half of the storylines fall on and seeing who can bring them out the most by themselves. Obviously it's very hard, because you can't talk to every character and whatnot, nor is it easy to contact someone and plan things with them. But I don't want to hold anyone's hand in this game - I want people to direct it with me and be a much bigger part of it that just a character. I also want those who didn't find the first chapter interesting or easy to improve, I'd like to think I'm known for giving people chances. And, also, note Revelation and Andrew. They had no idea. Revelation was at least five days late in getting a sign-up, I think, and even later on posting. As was Andrew, and because of that, both worked together. And I know where there characters are now. Not a rant or anything, I'm just stating is all.
14. Madeline isn't actually a problem. As Faust is of course a main character, his appearances are much more random than anyone else - seeing as I said he tends to appear and disappear. If you remember Quan in G&C, if anyone read that, he was somewhat like that and Quan did have several other NPCs doing his dodgy work. Or from Sands of Time, Protosis who randomly appeared had Marrick running around for him. Whereas character who don't have Faust's somewhat omnipresence and are constantly in play in the same position they left would be a problem if they had an NPC always near them. It's another character to shove into your post when you're trying to follow along and it's very difiicult keeping in check with the actual players, so I don't want any NPC's hanging around. If they do, it's going to make character interaction difficult anyway. Can you see where I'm coming from? (I wish I could see, my room's too bright =/ ) EDIT: Delay on the Chapter. Give it a few hours tomorrow during school.
15. *slaps forehead* No one from the Nicodemus should be boarding Drigg, it's coming from Sellafield which is owned by the Augustine and therefore a highly dangerous place; they obviously get shot down. The ambush will be happening after the halfway point, wherein our Augustine players (if they wish) will be boarding to guard the train. That's why I'm asking everyone to wait for my character. The ambush will not happen immediately, if we take it slowly at first we can speed up to the real action without getting confused. I think I'm going to have to start getting harsher with the posting now. I apologise if this post starts sounding mean, but the internet sucks at projecting a normal tone of voice. No images in the game unless they're the chapter images, FF's or anything else that's created on photoshop for the purpose of the RPG. If we need to know what a character looks like, describe them. Just anime images smack bang in the middle just don't look right. We are indeed going to have to stop bringing so many characters in. They're not going to be that important at all. I allow one of two characters to be created, especially in the first few posts, because no one knows each other and it gives your characters a chance to show off their personality through conversation. But I'd rather focus on getting all the characters involved than getting characters introduced that will not be involved in the RPG at all. So I'm asking everyone if they're going to mention an NPC, keep them to a low of two. The NPC I created isn't going to be mentioned again because after this chapter, Deacon will have other characters to talk to. No more characters unless you ask me first. You're going to have to refrain from mentioning them from now on because I myself am having trouble keeping up with the story. We've got over ten players - we don't need anymore. Just a warning to be careful in the next chapter - don't want to get anyone lost. I would advise people to let at two players post inbetween their posts unless it's absolutely nescessary and you're sure you won't lose anyone in the chaos. And the next chapter may possible see the death of a character, I'm not sure yet. We'll see how it goes. Be careful, okay? And don't rush.
16.
i'll just post how Chester found out about the train. If that's okay?
Yeah that'll be fine. This chapter or next? Should have the next one up by tomorrow.
17. I'd just like to say I'm almost done writing the first post for the new chapter, but lately my sleeping pattern (if you can even call it sleeping) has been a bit disturbed. Basically I had a week off school and in that week I was up all night and slept through the day. Whenever I get home from school (wherein I've been asleep most of the time), I go straight to sleep until about midnight where I have to go downstairs or I'll get my internet cut off for 'waking everyone up' ¬_¬ So you can see my problem. And, also, the start of the Chapter is all yours without supervision what-so-ever. As some people know I'm not home on the weekends (crazy graveyard party this week) so I won't be able to see what's going on. I'm hoping the first post will give everyone enough to run the chapter themselves for two days or so. As for which characters want to be involved in the actual ambush, I'll also leave that up to you. Those who aren't involved get the grand oppurtunity to cause havoc in the city; I'm sure I'd be pissed off if I weren't able to jump an Augustine transport for whatever reasons. BK: You can bring them in if you like, I'm sure they won't mind, but if the rest of the characters don't show their faces by the third chapter they'll be knocked out of the game. So it would be better if you did bring them in for a bit, so their deaths will actually mean something. FH: It's alright, although if you're going to be involved in the ambush you may have to wait for my character, not that I'm distrusting, just like you said you're used to running things yourself and if we have everyone leading this part then it'll get screwn up. All the other characters are free to write as they please over the weekend, but I'd levae the actual attack until I get back from the grave. Also, I'd like to state that anyone worrying that the 'vampireness' is a bit... lacking... in this game shouldn't worry at all. We'll have a nice easy 3rd chapter with room for a lot of dark, ancient, vampiric stuff going on. Ooh yeah.
18. I don't really join in with art stuff, but could I do Sex Drugs and Roll 'n' Roll? I have a lot of Punk friends who are a bit obsessed with being in my photos =) EDIT: Oops, got beat to it. Hmm... what about 36) Pride?
19. Dark as dead could be, even in the day time. At one point, Buckingham Palace would have gleamed thanks to all the riches it possessed, and thanks to the sunlight that would shine through its windows. But now, heavy silk curtains covered the windows, barely an ounce of light able to get through into the room. The room itself was large, laced from the door to the black-silked window with riches, gold, mirrors and fine furniture. Even finer was the man, stood facing the black window, with his hands clasped behind his back. A thick line of hair, much like a lion?s mane, ran down the middle of his head and further down his back. On the left side of his shaved head was a five inch thick scar, disappearing beneath his ear. Sebastian?s obsession with parallelism meant that, after the deep cut he had gained that not even a Vampire could heal from, he shaved off the other side of his head. Without the scar his hair would be thick and shining brighter than any of his family?s gold, though right now only a quarter of it did. At the far end of the room a door clicked open. Sebastian?s turquoise eyes moved slowly from their staring position on the curtain, as if he were trying to look behind him when, really, he was glancing at the faint shadows on the wall. The door closed with another click and two, possibly three, shadows danced across the gold ?plated walls. Sebastian turned around in time for the three men to reach his desk. The first, dressed formally with neatly combed back hair, stepped forward and placed a sheet of paper on the desk. Sebastian took it, grinning, and read it. ?This could pose a bit of a problem,? he said, barely above a whisper, ?are you sure we can?t get any new material in before the end of the week?? The first Vampire glanced to the side at his smaller comrade. ?Drigg is making a journey tomorrow, we couldn?t schedule anything because of that.? Sebastian?s face was riddled with confusion. ?Then put the load onto Drigg and it?ll be here by tomorrow.? ?You said never to do anything without at least a week?s planning and at least a week?s worth of trained forces backing you up. If you want we could --? ?I also said you should shave your beard, but fuck, you didn?t.? Sebastian barked. ?Furthermore, I stated this is a problem. With such a problem in the way, we won?t be making any plans weeks before their execution. We won?t be doing much at all. Now, I want this sorted. Have Drigg stop at its last station and I want three of the Augustine or SOLF to rendezvous with it. They?ll escort it back.? The Vampire frowned, lowered his head. ?What if the Nicodemus find out?? ?Do they have ears in the walls? Or the brains to figure this out?? Sebastian grinned broadly and seated himself at his desk. ?By the time we?ve got enough Plutonium to complete this operation, the Nicodemus will be dead. Dead as the ashes of my ancestors.? His grin grew to something that was, frankly, disturbing. The other Vampires did the same, with a little laugh somewhere in the middle. But one Vampire, the smallest, had a different sort of grin. * Deacon glanced to the side at the man staring at him, who quickly diverted his eyes when he noticed Deacon had saw. He then went back to looking at his newspaper article, crossing his legs under the desk outside the café. Reading in almost pitch black UV goggles was a very hard task, he was sure he would rather take on the Augustine single-handed than do this. Another man gave him a look, or so he thought. Deacon turned his head and the man glanced away. Sure, a few years ago Deacon would get odd looks, though he couldn?t help wondering whether the S.O.L.F.?s presence had caused a rise in human paranoia. Or maybe Deacon was just getting very bad with his fashion sense. He folded the newspaper and threw it across the table. A load of crap. The media was even more trashy than he remembered, there was nothing about the current affair, which was staring everyone in the face. Speaking of staring, Deacon had to ward off another stare with a quick glance and a frown. He decided the next time, he wouldn?t bother at all. ?Deaco?!? Deacon jumped in his seat at the sudden appearance of Starkey whom had placed himself in the seat across the table. ?Don?t ever call me that.? Starkey held up his hands. ?Right, right, I?m sorry. I?ve got some news! ?Well, go on, then.? Starkey?s eyes flicked under his sunglasses enough for Deacon to see. Deacon followed the Vampire?s gaze over to the other side of the road where, in the bright light and standing out from the very few humans like a sore thumb, two heavily armed S.O.L.F. soldiers stood. Deacon rose immediately and made his way out of sight, Starkey following closely behind. When they had come off the main road onto an almost abandoned side-street, Deacon sidestepped into an alley and placed his back against the wall. He glanced back around the corner and, when he saw nothing, nodded towards Starkey. ?Seb-bastard is bringing a box of nuclear material into London tomorrow, at night time. Finishing off some kind of plan the Augustine has going. Our little birdy spying for us has spread the message all the way around Highgate, but no one wants to get involved.? Deacon raised an eyebrow. ?You?re proposing a heist?? ?I?m proposing we blow that fuckin? Drigg to kingdom come and take the material for ourselves, bribe them with it, or something. Or give the Augustine an equal enough scare. I was thinking me and you should --? ?We?re not Starksy and Hutch, no offence to your grandfather.[Ff]? Deacon folded his arms over his chest and narrowed his eyes at Starkey, thought he doubted the Vampire could see. ?I?ll have to say thank you for the information, but no thanks to the offer. If anything, I?ll do this alone.? Starkey?s expression suddenly changed to one of sheer horror and childlike devastation. He didn?t expect Deacon to steal a mission from under his nose. ?You can?t do that. You know, you?re getting such a bad review in my book?? ?You?re not Anne Rice, either. [Ff]? Deacon shook his head slightly and adjusted his goggles. ?I don?t know how many people are coming along on this, but tell them Deacon is going to obtain whatever happens to be on the Drigg. Tell them they can do as they please, tell all the humans if they want to, just tell them that I do not wish to have any help obtaining the item or clear up their mess.? Deacon moved a strand of green hair out of his face and stepped out of the alley like he was stepping out of the conversation. Before he could escape, Starkey grabbed his shoulder. ?Do you have a death wish?? he asked. ?No.? Deacon said, not turning around. ?Well you?re going to end up dead. You?re the last of your family, and they?re pretty ancient, from the very beginning, I reckon. It?ll be a shame to see them end here.? Deacon?s eyes darkened beneath his goggles and he shrugged off Starkey?s hand violently, walking off into the sunlight on his own. ?Starksy and Hutch? was, according to most Vampires, based on the infamous Vampires by the same names (Starksy being Starkey grandfather). Whether the rumour is true or not, the movie has caused both names to be tainted and a joke in the Vampire world. Anne Rice, also, is mocked for revealing Vampire tales with either too much accuracy or none at all. Due to these jokes, even Vampires themselves forget if she was one of them or not. The name is normally used, by Vampires, as an insult, for gaining glory by false hood or just generally being an annoying woman. OOC: Fuck this. I'll edit out the mistakes tomorrow. I'm incredibly screwed at the moment (entirely in fact), I'm not in the mood, I have exams next week, it's 3:30am, I can't feel my fingers and I really, really can't see what I'm typing.
20.
>_< sorry, looks like I beat my own alloted time. I'll be sure to post again between yours, though, if no one else does first. I only have one question - should I tone down the cussing, or am I cool?
Cool as **** (pun intended). Damn filter. But yeah, go ahead. I swear like it's in my blood and it'll kill me not to swear in every spoken sentence, so I don't mind. The RPG is rated for language, so it's perfectly fine.
21.
chapter 2 sounds great, but can I squeeze in my second post beforehand? It's taking me a bloody eternity to work on, and without it, my character doesn't really fall in anywhere ^^;; Sorry it's taking so long, but I've been sick all week I'll have it in by 5 PM (here it's currently 2).
Sure thing. I'll be posting a post for myself anyway in five hours, so I need a post after mine to start the new chapter. Take your time =)
22. A note beforehand: Doomsday is currently the only thing I can run on OB. I don't actually have a computer and I'm currently going all the way to Bury just to use my friend's computer. Yep, it's true. I'll be going to Stalybridge tomorrow to use Photoshop and finish the graphics I started. So I will make one post today and leave room for those who haven't posted, and then the new chapter will start. I've looked over all the posts and I have a few comments to make on those who have posted already, just a few: Vicky's Comments: Raiha and BK - I feckin' love the stuff you two put together. Very cool indeed. Ozy - Only one post, but it's great for a one post. Plus I already have faith in you from our past RPG with Charlie-boy, heh. Disenchanted - Again, pretty impressed with the entire Augustine clan for how you've all involved each other so easily, so that's a thumbs up for you as well. Starwind - Hmm... tis alright, indeed, in fact it's also a thumbs up because your posts were incredibly easy to follow and you have left room for other character's to interact. Nice. 2007DB - Another alright one, though I did have to scratch my head and read it a few times to figure some things out. It might be due to me not being on my own computer, but it was half and half. Pretty fine in terms of your writing, though. F-H - Umm... well, you started off pretty good, to be honest. But then you brought in far too many characters that won't actually be involved in the game and it became very hard to follow. Also, if you involved Buckingham Palace, which is the Augustine/SOLF hide out then your character would probably be dead by now. The posts did seem to get a bit lazy now and then, not much break in speechand harder to follow. Not trying to discourage you, but try to be more careful next time and don't force so much into it (this is only the first chapter). Engel - Only one post, again, but I do like the way you've played Ezekiel. It really did make me grin, lol. Allamorph - Your post made me laugh, not in a bad way, mind you. It's the speech. It half reminds me of the way my friends talk, and since we're English, then obviously it's a thumbs up. Good job with Faust, considering I had high expectations for the character I am indeed impressed. Favouritism? Nope, I'm going off what I've seen here and before, so I will indeed have slightly more faith in those I've RPGed with before. Don't let these comments put you off, but now I know where a lot of you stand in the game. Don't worry, I'm pretty impressed with everyone who posted so far. The start of the game is often the hardest. I would like to point out, again, that the Augustine clan's collabration is immense. Nicodemus and the humans have a lot to compete with... so I think I'll be shoving Deacon in somemore. Okay, information on the next chapter: Chapter Two Pu-239 Drigg Ambush The Transportation used to transfer waste from London to Sellafield is a twenty-carriage train, laced with 50cm of steel around the cargo and code named 'Drigg'. The train's massive weight causes it to be a huge hazard to the SOLF as it is the easiest target to attack, especially when on the move. The SOLF had ordered a supply of its nuclear fuel to be brought to Buckingham Palace, a dangerous task. The nuclear material itself is harmless and, even though it is encased in 50cm of steel, it is also concealed in the SOLF's infamous 'black box', known for keeping radiation inside unless it is opened. Sebestian has asked members of both the SOLF and the Augustine clan to renedezous with Drigg half-way to London, and protect it at all costs from a possible ambush until it gets to the point outside London in which the cargo can be unloaded. I need a few people from the Augustine to guard the actual train and a few people to ambush it. Don't worry, there'll be stuff happening other than the ambush, which will only take place over a few posts and then we have the aftermath that'll be in London for everyone to join in on. We'll see, won't we?

Doomsday: The Beginning He looked down at the bleak streets of what would be London, bathed in a blanket of darkness with only the moon to provide natural light for its inhabitants below. As like most nights it was cold in the city, damp and wet, the pavements darker now having soaked up all the rain from the daytime. Although, this was a minor detail that he had failed to notice, or preferred to ignore, as he gazed down over the edge of the building like some elegant Quasimodo. The man below him ? if you could call it that ? had no idea of his present. And, in all honesty, Deacon had no intention to make his presence known. He was content with watching. He wrapped his fingertips around the edge of the building and stretched his neck further to follow the Vampire?s direction below. The S.O.L.F. soldier, layered in thick leather and plastered with the biggest arrogant smirk Deacon had seen in a long time, had been pacing forward on the same street for some time now. It had caught Deacon?s interest, because no man ? if you would call it that ? stalks the same path for more than two hours. Especially not a Vampire. With all this in mind, Deacon considering the fact that something was going on. It was out of a sense of duty he would find out, not out of misplaced curiosity. When Deacon breathed heavily, the soldier turned his head slightly, causing Deacon to draw back a little and crouch beneath the building?s wall for protection. He kept his bright green eyes on the soldier, keeping track of his eyes in case they locked onto his position. Deacon knew as well as every other Vampire not part of the silly Augustine fascism was not allowed out at night. The soldier turned around fully, though his eyes were diverted to the ground. Deacon still backed away in case he was sighted, but it would have helped if he had eyes in the back of his head. The metal on Deacon?s boot scraped ever so slightly against a loose rock lying on the roof by coincidence. Although it barely made a sound, Deacon winced, and the guard below diverted a pair of almost neon blue eyes to his position. There was no thinking involved, no snap decision ? only instinct. Deacon immediately turned and ran to the other side of the roof, jumping from the edge downwards in a straight line. He collided with another part of the building, breaking what would have been a painful fall, and he immediately proceeded to jump from that, as well. When he landed on the ground, crouched beneath his trench coat, he caught the soldier smirking at him in the same place. Deacon acted on instinct again and ran in the opposite direction; whether he would be followed or not, he didn?t know, but he wasn?t going to think about it. Well, of course he wouldn?t be followed. Ever S.O.L.F. soldier knew only to hunt their own kind in numbers. * ?What were you doing in the middle of London, Deacon? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?? Deacon bit the corner of his mouth and looked down. He poked the grass with his foot and continued pulling strange facial expressions, betraying little emotions except that he was thinking. His friend wasn?t telling him off, he was simply asking. Deacon had no intention of giving a real answer. ?Well, did you find anything out?? No, not really. Deacon placed his palms firmly on the gravestone he was resting on and lowered his head slightly, strands of natural hair and PVC strands falling over his guilty expression. ?Yes, that there?s something far worse going on in this city.? He lied. ?What?? Deacon took his time replying again. He put back on his thinking face and turned to his follow Vampire, Starkey (in which all possible insults about his name had already been said centuries ago), and stared at him. Now Starkey, who was incredibly young looking having been turned at a young age, wasn?t one to be moved by a simple stare. His dirty long blond hair and the cliché look of him made him a Vampire from the very story books and novels ? except he only had one fang due to an unfortunate accident. ?I learned we?re pretty damn stupid animals, if we?re meant to be pretty damn amazing.? Deacon replied, a grin playing on his face. ?Oh, I really did. I didn?t find out what?s happening in the city, the guard turned around beforehand. I just know something strange is going on and the S.O.L.F. either aren?t trying to cover it up, or they want us to find out.? Starkey folded his arms. ?So which is it?? ?Ah, don?t ask me to figure out the ways of an Augustine, I?m far too old for this.? Deacon grinned rather broadly at Starkey, whom shook his head. ?You?re not even old.? Starkey contradicted. ?But I?m older than you.? The young Vampire twitched slightly and shook his head again, like Deacon was some unruly child. He was wrong on both accounts; Deacon just wasn?t giving any straight answers today. He ran his fingers over the edge of the tombstone and pushed himself off it, pulling his trench coat over it as well. He turned to Starkey, gave a lazy smile, and a simple nod of his head. ?Are you going?? Starkey inquired. Deacon titled his head to the side and smiled, as if to indicate yes. Whether or not Starkey understood the expression, Deacon did not know. He immediately turned away and began a quick stride to the gravel path of Highgate Cemetery. Although it was day time now, the shadows of the trees and overgrowth kept the sun off Deacon?s back and kept a beautiful shadow over their land. Older Vampires would even dare to walk out in Highgate ? it was protected from all forms of evil against their clan, both the light and the dark (the Augustine, in his case). He placed his hands firmly in his trench coat?s pockets and looked up, seeing the clouds in the sky behind the dark trees, and the sun behind the clouds. He smiled a little at this. He turned his head to see if Starkey was still stood by the tombstone and wasn?t surprised to see he had gone without a trace. Deacon grinned, and continued on his way through the trees and grass. Deacon considered the conversation he had just had ? though short ? somewhat interesting. It wasn?t likely that many Vampires came back from being spotted in the night, maybe they were more careful. And it was true that something odd seemed to be biting at the S.O.L.F. these days, though Deacon was having trouble pinpointing exactly where the problem lay. He sighed and kicked a stone. The thought of things becoming so bad, that everything was done at night time and sneaking around like dogs on the run, was saddening for Deacon. He didn?t remember England like this. He knew who to blame, he knew it wasn?t just he who thought about the current situation? he just felt obliged to do more than he should. A Nicodemus Vampire never got involved in a human?s affairs ? so why did Deacon feel the fate of all humanity rested on their shoulders, or maybe just his? He realised this was not a subject he wished to think about too much. He closed his eyes and continued walking through the shadows, opening them only to turn up a row of ancient stone steps, hoping to find more conversation among his clan members to ease his worries. ----- OOC: Have at it. Very late for me. Can?t do much more ? props to Ozy for the amazing Clan graphics *hugs*
24. Yep, because I needed to post something important, rather than edit the location's post ^_~ Chapter One begins tonight. And it will be the most important Chapter in the RPG. You'll be judged. Basically, throughout this Chapter, all I need if for you to post a few times, be creative, interact with different characters if you wish. The chapter may or may not be short, I'll try and give everyone time to post. But why on Earth is this Chapter the most important? Simple. You'll be judged. I let almost everyone into the game when I said I wanted creativity, so I've decided that, depending on the creativity and awesomeness of your first posts, your character's roles will be decided. Not to say one post will mean you get the stage presence equivilent to a choir boy, rather that the best few posts will mean your characters get more responsibility in the game and more challenge. I did not judge sign-ups on creativity, I decided to leave it to the first chapter. So that's all. You can do as you please - make up what you want. Just remember what's at stake here. If you're unsure about what I'm rambling on about, just ask, and I'll try to clear things up.
25. I think I'm going to change my second name to Goat. And I'm not joking (it'd fit the nickname, which so far comes from nowhere, really). My last name, Sherratt, is a bastard. I could use Gorski but I never do after the horrors of my last name. For one, everyone spells it wrong (Sherrat, Sherat, Sherbert once, which I did actually shout 'what the feck' to). And if they're not spelling it wrong, they're saying it wrong. I have to repeat myself at least five times, then in the end I give them the spelling, yet they STILL spell it wrong! Being stubborn I normally tell them to change it, then they'll go "Ah, Sherratt" and say it wrong AGAIN. It's not that hard. Vicky is even worse which is why I insist on my nickname in real life. Yes, I know it rhymes with Sticky, and no, Sticky Vicky really ain't funny. I also hate the alternative spellings. Vikki, Vicki, Vickie... I'm sure you can spell it more ways than that. I once had someone call me Ricky in school. We're not going to even get into what happened next =) I actually became pretty sick of my name, you can make so many crap rhymes with it and it really just annoys me. If people didn't know me as Vicky here, I'd have alright changed my name on OB as well.
