And you are, Daigo, assuming that the person who happens to search Trigun on the web would be ignorant enough that they don't know that Fan-fic means "Fan-made Fiction"? I'm not a fan of yaoi, and I'm against it in a way, but I won't go as far as to start criticizing the people who write it or the people who read it. Let them. It's not harming me or you in anyway shape or form. So why get so angry over it? It hurts your personal image of the characters? So wait, does that mean you read them a bit? If so, don't read them. Its that simple. I never read Yaoi, and never plan to, and I think thats the best way to deal with it if you're against it.

Well, some of you know this char... he's my fav, and thus I list him here. Of course, if you want Emilio, Shiyami, Warrington, or Tetsujin, just ask and I'll switch it around. Name: Gen the Twin Blade Age: 17 Race: Human Weapons: Chain-sickle Katana (x 2)EA seemingly ordinary katana, except for the fact that it can launch its blade by pulling the trigger attached to its hilt. The blade is connected to the hilt with reinforced titanium wire, thus allowing its user to retrieve and fire multiple times. The chain on one sword is sharpened so that it too can cut, while the other is dulled so as to be used to entangle and disable opponents. The blade itself is crafted and shaped by advanced laser technology, and is capable of slicing a molecule in half. Skills: Hitoe/Futae Tenchuusatsu (Single/Dual Aerial Kill)EAnti-air attack. Gen takes off into the air, and uses a Battoujutsu technique in mid-air, slicing the opponent in half. There are two different versions, each employing one or two swords. Ameotoshi Battoujutsu (Heaven?s Collapse Battoujutsu)EA Battoujutsu attack somewhat lacking in speed, but with incredibly long-range and power. Gen fires his blade at a precise timing while performing the Battoujutsu technique, thus giving it incredible range and power from its momentum. Futae Setsuna no Jyuujigiri (Dual Moment Cross Slash)EThe ultimate and strongest Battoujutsu technique that Gen possesses. The basic technique is the same as Ameotoshi Battoujutsu, except two swords are employed, one launched vertically and the other launched horizontally. This attack is nearly impossible to dodge, and is a few times faster than the Ameotoshi technique. However, it takes extreme concentration and focus, and drains the spirit after use. Rakuhouha Kenbu (Phoenix Fall Sword Dance)EA Kenbu (Sword Dance) which is performed only when Gen fights an opponent who he deems worthy. Focusing his entire being into his swords, Gen goes on a seemingly berserk rampage. The rampage, however, is well calculated and the external storm only hides the internal calm and void within. This Dance is not only on ground, but will also take to the air if necessary and due to his specially crafted katana, his Kenbu is nearly impossible to dodge. His Kenbu attack seemingly leaves an illusion behind as he moves, thus making it harder for the opponent to hit him in his frenzy. Appearance: Smooth, black hair tied back in a ponytail. Moderately tall. A dark-blue long-sleeved shirt with the kanji ?AmeEwritten in white on the back. Black sash loosely tied around the waist, and dark-blue pants. Swords attached to the waist of both sides. Quiet, calm face, usually accompanied with a faint smile. Thin, but not scrawny thin. Personality: Calm, yet a complete demon in battle. Is loyal provided he believes in the cause, but prefers to work independently. Has great respect for life, but will not falter to take it should he find himself in danger. Bio: Always in adoration and captivated by the stories of samurais and the concept of Bushido, Gen took the path of pioneering a whole new branch of combat style which uses a sword as a viable weapon in a society where guns are dominant. Upon diligent practice and study, Gen ultimately arrived at the conclusion that the only aspect in which the gun holds dominance over swords is its range and power. Confident that he could cover the lack of power with his natural talent, Gen struggled to find a way to even the advantage of distance. This he accomplished by attaching a wire connecting the blade and the hilt, and crafting it so that it could fire its blade. Practice with this new type of sword changed Gen?s fighting style. In order to use his katana to its full potential, Gen decided that normal sweeps and slashes were too slow and did not possess enough strength to effectively slice his opponents. He began to base his style around the Battoujutsu technique, an attack in which the blade is drawn directly from the sheath as it attacks, thus giving the blade increased velocity and power. The Battoujutsu technique, combined with the range and momentum from the launched blade finally satisfied Gen. Gen?s already formidable swordsmanship augmented by his newfound strength makes him a formidable warrior indeed.

We do have something like a School Spirit Week, but the thing is, only the seniors know when it is, and only seniors dress/act accordingly. Usually about half the senior class dress up, be it pajamas, hawaiian, twins, etc. etc. What I find funny is that we have a day called "no school" day in our spirit week, and all the seniors are just too happy to oblige. Not one, and I mean not one senior will show up for the "no school" day. Strange that teachers never comment on these... I think I'll push for a week of "no school" day when I become a senior...

Croconaw, Shuckle, Weepinbell, Larvitar, Togetic, and Rattatta cannot be obtained in Ru/Sa without hacking. That also goes for Jirachi, but it can also be obtained in some pokemon events. Anyway, I'll post Q. Which pokemon has the highest combination of attack/speed?
-
Daigo... it has only been five hours... wait atleast a day before going on to make a new question.

Last time this thread was up, I posted a bunch of people. But after much, much consideration, I don't think any of them really "changed" me. I'm still me, nothing new. Maybe Milliefan, but thats just a bit of a change of view towards Christians. After all, this is online friendship... its not as deep as when you actually meet and talk to someone head-on.

A: Enrique Maxwell, he calls Integra a protestant female pig(atleast in the manga). Q: Which historical figure was Kenshin based on, and what was the sword style this figure employed?
-
Since everyone said/debated the finer points, I'll just give you some clan names: Koga Ninja, Iga Ninja, and Negoro Ninja. Those were the larger, more well known ones.
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Haha, das cake for me.
Agreed. Dare ask an Eva question in my presence? ^^;; A: In order, Misato, Asuka, Rei, Ritsuko, Kaji, Hikaru, Kensuke, Touji, Pen Pen, Makoto, Shigeru, Maya, Fuyutsuki, and finally Gendo/Yui. So the third one will be Rei. Q: In the Trigun Manga, which character did Wolfwood shoot to take over as "Chapel"?

I'm Japanese, and I went to Japanese schools on Saturdays for about 7 or 8 years so I'm quite fluent with it in both writing and in speaking. Obviously, I can speak/write English as well. I took a bit of Korean, but back then I was quite lazy and had no desire to learn, so all thats left in me from those classes are the ability to read Korean, and a basic knowledge of grammar and such. At the moment, I'm taking Spanish in High School, pero no me gusta español porque el profesor es muy malo o_O.

In anime, the whole song is rarely played. You know how songs repeat the same tune over and over? They just do the first part which lasts at most a minute and a half.
-
Animanga, i found a translation of the song online, and its fairly accurate. Here. I'm sure that the heart I left behind still lies hidden in the heart of the deep, deep forest. Exhausted, without the strength to search people vanish into the infinite darkness. If it's so small, I wonder if I can see it even now? * As we live on, we lose a little bit more. Shrouded in falsehoods and lies, we stand frozen to the spot, unable to cry out The days pass by and change, without us even realizing how blue the sky really is. Overcoming that made-up scheme, we live the present, and our rusted hearts begin to beat again! If we can find the rhythm of time, we can fly once again We live our lives wandering to the ends of the earth. Believing (in you?), now I begin my journey with you, in search of the light. * Repeat * We live our lives wandering to the ends of the earth. Closing off the way back, we walk on for eternity. We live our lives standing frozen to the spot, unable to cry out, for eternity...

In our school, the "anime club" is a branch of the asian appreciation club. Therefore, it was incredibly easy to have a teacher supervise us, and to obtain permission from the principal since we were just "appreciating" asian art.

Actually, it would suit me just fine if you could get the Japanese lyrics in English... like "Zankoku na tenshi no youni... etc. etc."

A: Lingerie/Under wear Okay, an evil one.... Q: In first episode of Evangelion, Shinji sees an illusion of Rei. Immediately after this scene, a flock of doves takes off from a power line. How many doves were there? o_O Good Luck.

Fukai Mori doesn't mean dark forest actually... that will be Kurai mori. Fukai Mori means deep forest. Btw, animanga, if you have the lyrics in Japanese, I can try to translate them into workable, understandable english... I'm Japanese after all.

A: His grandfather first fought Naraku, and thus received the curse of the wind tunnel. Then it went on to Miroku's father, and finally Miroku. So counting Miroku, its three generations. Q: In the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, there is a scene in which Shinji stumbles upon Rei naked. Now, if any of you were paying enough attention to the details and not staring at her, what color was the towel she had draped around her shoulders?

I get the feeling that no one else here read Trigun Maximum... Its basically a different story with the same setting, plot, characters, etc. However, little details, tid-bits, etc. are a bit different from the anime. The manga also delves more into the past/history of the characters and the series itself. And if its ever made into an anime... it's going to be a whole renewal instead of a sequel. I doubt it would work. And if they do, I hope their animation won't be as bad as the original trigun anime.
-
Like DBD said, I already read the Trigun manga... theres 3 Trigun mangas, and 8 Trigun: Maximum Mangas. The way the story is carried out in the first three Trigun Mangas are basically the same as in the anime, except that they come out in different orders. However, once the story hits Maximum, pretty much everything is different. More chaos, more blood, more gore, more characters, and you get to delve more into each character. And oh yeah, remember the Angel Arm? Its.... not exactly a gun in the manga.

I always liked the night. I always liked mountains. I always liked Japan... well, I'm Japanese so its my homeland o_O. Anyway, put all that together, and I suppose my vacation fantasy will be to go on one of those... um... not exactly a tour but... basically, you run through the mountain all day. All day including the night. There are people called Yamabushi in Japan. Basically priests who trek around the wild. You get to become one of them, and to trek with them. I always, always wanted to do that.... running in the mountain at midnight... *sigh*... But then again, its supposed to help you find inner-peace, so I guess its not exactly a vacation...

I'll edit this post to answer my question once its 9/7/03. I don't want this question to clog this thread. Once I give the answer, the first person to post another question can continue the quiz. Edit: Well, its 11:04 p.m. on 9/6, but I might as well post the answer since no one seems to know. A: The names of Evangelion characters are taken from the names of old Japanese battle ships, or some tool in reference to ships. For example, Ikari = anchor, Rokubungi(Gendo's old name) = Device to measure depth, Ayanami, Soryu, Fuyutsuki, Ibuki, Akagi are all old battle ships which served in WWII.

If you could erase one human emotion..what would it be and why?
Kwai replied to Bishie's topic in General Discussion
I think I'll erase... love. They say that Love is the strongest of all the human emotions right? I would like to see which of the remaining emotions will reign supreme once love is out of the way. -
A: The Noburi Nueiro... equipped with a measly machine gun. Q: In the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, what are the character's names derived from?
-
A: I'm going to take a guess, but Master Gear? Schwarzwald Q: What is the relationship between "Double Fang" and Wolfwood?
-
A: They killed, well, the Royalists killed Sano's friend/father figure, the leader of the Sekihoutai, and dragged his name in the mud. Also, from Sano's eyes, the equality to all the gov't preaches is a load of crap. Q: In Evangelion, right befor Shinji/Asuka fought Israfel, the angel of music(7th angel), they mark their progress on a calendar. What was unusual about this calendar?
