Anime What's the longest you've gone without anime?
Kwai replied to Moor_Child's topic in Otaku Central
I lived for two years after watching anime and it really didn't bother me. But I guess it was because it was a low quality anime. I watched Evangelion, Bebop, Trigun and such later on, and since then, I doubt I can go more than 2 weeks without anime. -
Favorite fighter will go to... I suppose its a weird choice, but I choose Eva. Unit 01. Best mech fighting scenes in anime if you ask me. Human like form, flexibility, soul... Evangelion takes the cake for me.

LoL. It would have been good without the demons? Please. Calling them demon, in my point of view, is not even correct since that word incites some degree of religion while the original Japanese word does not. The word demon is a rather vague way to refer to them. Most of them are simply objects and animals that lived or existed long enough to gain mystical powers. In English the only way to call them is "demon" because they really have no other word that can describe the Japanese word "Youkai" or "Mononoke". Demons, Monsters... same thing in Japanese mythology. We just refer to the entire category as "Youkai/Mononoke".

Fruits really do nothing for me. It usually tends to slow me down or give me stomach cramps or something >.

I dunno... lotta people say "I want a million dollars".... why not a billion or a trillion? I'd say I want a billion dollars if I have 10 seconds to make my decision. After all, many things can be bought/resolved with money o_O.

How exactly does it screw up anime? Sure some people will get tired of seeing all those characters on back-packs, shoes, pillows, and what-not, but I really can't see how it leads to the unfair demise of anime.

To clarify, its moves that count as an appeal combo in pokemon contests. Such combos include Rain Dance + Thunder, Sunny Day + Overheat, etc. etc. When used in succession in contests, they give extra points.

Fine fine... :p Oh well... I guess its only in the manga then. Its a German Song o_O My new question then Q: At the very first Evangelion episode, Shinji sees an illusion of Rei. Immediately after this, a flock of doves fly off. How many doves were there? o_O I'm evil  Calm down... which question though? The Rave Master thing? I think that was answered. Repost the question.

A: It is the color of the flower Geranium(sp?). Rem attributes it to 'determination' and Vash's actions reflect the color of his shirt which symbolizes the flower. Q: Recite the song from which the name "Schwarzwald" is taken from(Big O). Also post the translation O_o

Couple of things to say before welcome... 1) Introduction threads are not allowed 2) You made two exact same threads 3) You're first post doesn't generate much discussion Sorry to sound bossy even though I'm not a mod, but OB has rules o_O That said, welcome to the OB, hope you stick around :)

A: He works for the Iscariot Organization. Q: List each angel from the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and what they stood for. (Night, Sky, etc.)

Reasons people reasons... otherwise, this thread is going down... I've always like Evangelion because of all the thoughts it crammed into your head(and leaves you brain-dead), but I've recently added FLCL to the list because its equally as confusing as Eva, but makes sense in a weird sort of way. I prefer animes that seem to be completely crazy on first view, but slowly begins to piece together as you continue to watch it.

I don't know... if she really was that evil, I think she would have killed Naota in the end for messing up her plans. But she didn't. I think she's a bit obsessed with power, but good deep down.

Oh yeah... heres a little query I always had with Evangelion. Now the Evangelions are sent to the surface via catapults from the NERV command center which is located in the Geo-Front. We see the Geo-Front and the NERV command center every now and then throughout the series, but there seems to be nothing connecting the Geo-Front where the Evas are stored to the surface. It's just one, big empty space there... now then, where the heck are the catapults used for launching Evas located?

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Kwai replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
I think she had DTv or something... I do, and it says TV-Pg for Fooly Cooly. Anyway, I'm guessing she started watching the show half-way or something, after the 1st commercial finished. From then on, I don't think there are any warnings, and thus caused her to believe that Cartoon Network was deceiving its viewers.... -
...I'm not exactly that thrilled that the U.S. dropped the bomb on us. But as many people pointed out, we probably would have fought to the last man, woman, and child. The casualty may have been higher or lower without the A bomb, but thats up to guessing now. I still frankly find it annoying when people start talking about "More people would have died if U.S. didn't drop the bomb..." crap. People died, and some people today still suffer from the radiation. Regardless of the estimates, I still think it was a horrible day to end the war. People can talk all they want about estimates, estimates, and estimates, but I still think that it was the worst way out. Go to the memorial in Hiroshima.

Q: List the moves that combo with sunny day in pokemon contests.

o_O Better state why or Des or Lady K will shut this one down. My favorite goes to... confuse ray. Its always fun to see the expression on my friend's face when I use this move :D Of course, my friend then enjoys the look on my face when he restores it with a lum berry... damn berries...

o_O Biiiig font.... Anyway, I'll stick to "Cruel Angel Thesis" from Evangelion. I've seen a good deal of anime, but the only one which constantly remains in me is that song. I like the melody in general, but what I really enjoy are the words. "Dakedo itsuka kizuku desho sono senaka niwa... haruka mirai mezasu tame no hane ga aru koto.." (Trans: On your back there are wings leading to the far future you only can search for..) I really love that line. I think thats the main message of the whole song, and perhaps the entire series.

1.) You haven't read the manga... from what I hear anyway... He really doesn't worship plants in the manga. He's just a part of an organization that does(even though they're actually just a bunch of elite killers). He only thinks of plants as a superior being, much like humans are to a fly. He does refer to god every now and then, but he really has no religion since his entirely priest/cross thing is more of a disguise. I don't think he takes any serious part in religion, and he just believes that there is god but no according to any set religion. 2.) I'm guessing she alternates between her hands and her foot... she does type with her foot.... 3.) I'm pretty sure it has some sort of an enchantment which prevents him from taking it off. 4.) Like Ruby said, I think he died. 5.) No comments here.

A: Ninjask... the second, im guessing is Deoxys. Not sure about that. I'll edit this to post question if im right.

These days, I'm kinda inclined to include Grumpig into my list of favorites. Quite good with "Trick", "Calm Mind", "Confuse Ray", "Rest" and such. Good annoyer/tank. His abilities Own Tempo and Thick Fat also add on to its endurance.

Injuries are kinda daily for me... martial arts involving a bamboo stick against newbies who fail to use them properly(and have terrible aim) inevitably lead to injuries... and since I'm usually the target, that will be me...

I'm actually not that fond of the anime version of "Trigun". It leaves out some of the more important aspects of the story, and it does not provide an in-depth characterization of each character. I saw the anime first, then read the manga after, and I was actually surprised that the author actually allowed the anime to turn out the way it did. Try the manga, though its a lot more bloody and gory, its definitely a few notches above the anime. As for why it appeals to me, its simple. I just like the idea of something that is far superior than humanity(Knives/Vash) posing enough threat as to eradicate the entire race. I just like the concept of revenge.

Anime The relationship between Legato and Knives?
Kwai replied to MillieFan's topic in Otaku Central
Legato is scum to Knives, Legato worships knives since Legato believes Knives to be a higher being than himself. This belief is shared by Wolfwood's Cult the Michael's Eye, and Knives thinks nothing of Legato except another human with a useful ability. Knives explicitly states in the manga that "This is his ability. I was going to use him because he was useful for shutting up those who get in the way but...." the reference is made to Legato, and he says this to Vash in front of Legato. I think this proves that its religious devotion.
