Yea the ending was perfect. I couldnt ask for a better closing of an anime series. The whole plot was for everyone to figure out there pasts.
Spikes was of course meetin Julia one last time and to finally defeat Vicious, Faye's was to figure out where she exactly came from and how she was remained in stacius(sp?) lock for such a long time, Ed's was also to figure out where she came from and meeting her dad eventually, and Jet's was to figure out how he lost his arm...which i think was terrible how it happen.
The last scene when
Vicious and Spike fight is amazing. Just the whole struggle that Spike has to go through in the final epsisode is great and how he still had enough energy in him to defeat Vicious just blew my mind. I also love the famous way he just collapse and says "Bang" in front of the remaining syndicate(sp?).
As there ever being another series, there never will be and it would just be pointless anyway. Why ruin a good series, it was perfect the way it was. Sure it would be cool to see what the characters did after this whole mess, but look what happen to other series that went above and beyond....they basically sucked.

People sometimes call me the "dumbest-smart kid". Like ive done maybe to things really stupid at college that probably a two year old could have done. Most of the time i show them up and have to point things out to them. Oh well ill stick with the nickname they gave me. -
Man i got a story for you!!!! Well since this is all i basically did today ill just tell everyone what happen. Toyota finally fixed the repairs on my new used 2001 Corolla. It had only 39,540 miles on it, but with my good luck with cars the heater core got shot. The person i musted have bought it from more or less masked it so nobody would have noticed that there was a leak in my heater core. Anyway everything was all find and dandy till i get there with my parents...and...well the mats were full of antifreeze. They told us what happen and how this sometimes happens with the antifreeze, it pours out into the car. With such the great mechanics at Toyota (being sarcastic here) they decided to leave the mats in my car with the antifreeze spewing all over the place. They said they would shampoo and dry the mats on Thursday and have it ready by Friday. That day came and well there still soaken wet. AND IT STILL SMELT LIKE ANTIFREEZE. My parents got pissed and my mom being the best mother in the world spelt 4 hours on the phone with the corporation in California. Hopefully we'll get good news. I just want to know if people find this fair at all how Toyota treated us. I find this outrageous. Over all day sucked...except for the China buffet we went to afterwards. Last day at home...going to Rowan tomorrow.

I thought it was a pretty good anime. The action scenes were pretty good and the plot was pretty interesting. The only thing i didnt really like was the fact they dont really say what happens to the main characters orignal tribe. Besides that it was very well written and it had a pretty good ending. Ohh almost forgot the music went right along with the anime...not neccessarily towards my liking but it was excellent for the anime.

If this person truly does like you in anyway, he wont side with his friends. If i were the person i would tell my friends to just back off and try to get to know you from a different perspective. Plus you shouldnt really let his friends get to you. He might have a completely different personality compared to his friends. Just follow what i said in the post before this one and everything should work out fine.
Originally posted by Harry You'll find that unless you're going to an Ivy league school, a community college course is just as good as a average college course. He'll also be spending a lot less. Also a lot of jobs hire you not only on your little degree there, but on a lot of other things. Being sociable and friendly really helps in the workspace. On a side note, why would he have to go to community college if he only has a 3.4? That's an A-B average, nothing hideous. If he does have more common sense than you, he's probably the winner out of you two.
Trust me around where i live you need to have a high GPA and good SAT scores. My parents dont want either me or my brother to leave the state of NJ so were kinda limited here. Unless you have money and could afford the really expensive universities there out of the question as well. Therefor Ivy league schools were out of the question to begin with for my family. Anyway I barely even got into Rowan with a 4.2 GPA and a 1150 SAT score. They wanted an 1180 SAT score but when they saw my GPA, they took me in because of that. My bro...he isnt probably going to get into the college of his choice. Sure hes got a decent GPA, but his SAT scores suck. Hes only got a 1020 and most of the colleges were demanding more then that. I know its sad hes had a pretty good GPA this whole time but colleges are demanding more and more each and every year. He might get in because of swimming, but they still want him to have a better SAT score and GPA. Plus class rank has a factor as well. My GPA gave me class rank of 85 out of 511 students while my bros is around 300 out of 556 students. Thats one of the first things a college asks (or looks for in a transcript), so hes basically screwed there too. As for community colleges being the same as Universities, thats somewhat understandable. Some of them are great like ive had to take a few summer course at a couple, but some of them were terrible as well. Its all just personal opinion. I never said that jobs higher you on your little degree...i personally could care less where you get the degree from. If a company does higher someone strictly on their degree, then their absolutely insane. I know you have to look at the total package, you would be stupid not too. But come on, use some common sense, you cant tell me that people with a degree from a regular college/university is better and more helpful then a degree from an Ivy league university. Trust me, that little degree does play an important factor. -
Originally posted by Manic Although the idea of "sexual intercourse" involving my mate dropping off her eggs and me fertilizing them after she leaves is a real turn-off.
Ok after just reading that...laughing a few times...fall of my chair and then catch my breath, i think i have made a choice. Manic i swear you ruined it i was going to pick the Phoenix but you changed my mind. Nah j/k Phoenixes are really cool(like the example you gave about X-Men) but i would have to go and say my all time favorite is the dragon. Just to be a huge creature with the wingspan of a commercial jet makes the dragon superior. The colors are great, i dont think there is any color they dont come in. And they live forever and therefore are extremely wise. The short attitude is also a plus and their cleverness just seals it as my choice. Im not sure how they do intercourse....nor do i want to know that answer so ill leave that off to Manic to explain...in great detail.

Anime Question bout Spike Spiegel *spoilers*
pbfrontmanvdp replied to Cmndr.Bradley's topic in Otaku Central
Well if you really want to know,
Spike just collapses on the ground from all the wounds he got and then says "Bang" basically meaning he's done. Whether or not he dies is basically up to the viewer, but from what i could gather Spike is dead. If you recall he says the word "Bang" when he kills the kid from Sympathy from the Devil. Thats sorta a clue. Anywho he did what he wanted to accomplish: He found Julia and defeated Vicious. He now believes he has no reason to live and it was now his time to die. Even the Indian chief kinda gives it away as well throughout the series that Spike well eventually die after fulfilling his duties. So im safe to say he died.
-
Ok ill try to help out a little. To make sure this is the guy for you, get to know what he likes and what his characteristics are. You must get to know these first because if you basically dont have that much in common, then it will never work out. As i can tell you both like drawing so thats a start and expand on that. Give compliments to his drawings...its always good to do stuff like that. Ask him questions like "Whats your favorite band" or "Whats your favorite sport". Pretty much get to know him a little bit before you try anything else. If things seem to be going well, then ask him if he likes to go to the movies or what not...tell him your going to see some movie and if he would want to go with you. Just remeber to always act yourself and never act differently around a person you like. Eventually he/she (in your case he) will found out who you are really like which may or may not be a bad thing but it always leaves them with questions, trust me ive seen it happen to a lot of my friends. So far it seems like your doing the right thing all you got to do is build up a little bit of confidence and you'll be on your way. If things dont work out that way then you both should just try to stay good friends, theres never anything wrong with that. Hope this helps

Like people that work hard, studing their whole lives are looked over by people that have streetsmartes and they are the ones who get the jobs cause they may happen to know the boss or whatnot. Sure it happens everyday, but its just terrible to see those who are truly qualified at a skill and have been waiting there whole life for a huge opportunity lose it to some joe-shmoe (sp? how do you spell that) that just happens to know someone in a company. Ahhhhh it just kills me. -
Which restores energy more water or fruit
pbfrontmanvdp replied to Meteora's topic in General Discussion
It depends on what you mean. For something that will give you a quick burst of energy for a short amount of time i would have to say fruits. Like Sara said...fruits have sugar in it and its a reliable source for a burst of energy. On the other hand, water provides more energy throught the day. When we do something physically or just being out in the sun we lose energy in the form of sweat. Since 65% of our body is made up of water, we need to balance that out throught the day. So just by saying that, water is a better provider of energy. Technically we are supposed to drink around a gallon and a half of water a day, but usually most people dont drink the average amount of water any. I sure know that i dont but at least i try. So in short drink water, its a better provider of energy in the long run. -
This question has always been running around in my head since my family and i are always so competitive. I had a 4.2 GPA while my brother has around a 3.4. He always says that he's more capable in having a more successful future. He backs it up by saying he has more commonsense, which i always disagree on(i believe i have more). Even if that is so, booksmarts is what usually gets a student into a good college. The university i go to is pretty well known and has a good reputation, while my bro might have to go to a community college (not that thats a bad thing, but compared to a university it's easy to get into). Meanwhile commonsense might have a factor in finding a job. Most of the time there are interviews when applying for a job, and most of them are verbal so this sort of aspect comes in handy. In most interviews you have to answer the questions usually without hesitation and try to sometimes be concise and to the point. I believe that commonsense plays more of an important role in life. Even though people sense that im more of a "booksmart" type of person, im really not. I only achieve to get good grades...cause...well thats what you need in order to get in an excellent college. It doesnt take much commonsense to know that. Right after college i know commonsense will be even more important. Just knowing how to maintain a house and pay bills will become an important factor. Setting up an elaborate schedule from day to day, just things like that will be important and these types of things are commonsense to my parents now. So i was just wondering if you think whether commonsense or booksmarts is more important and why. Also i would like to know if you consider yourself as more of a booksmart type of person or one who has more commonsense. Thx

Alucard (Hellsing) - I look like this main character the most. I have the same exact personality, such as take life for granted and not worry about the circumstances of problems that come my way. I also think life as a game and i just have to get the right cards sometimes, usually i get a full house or two pair but theres always that time i get a pair of 10's or lower. Im trying to get my hair like his....for some reason his hair just kicks ***. His confidence is extremely similar to mine. If i think im going to win something i usually do, but if i dont think i am i usual dont. Spike (Cowboy Bebop) - This man is pretty similar to Alucard, so i have the same points to say about Spike as well. Some other aspects i would have to say is his lack of patients. Im usually always the first one to attack in a football or paintball game and try to use that as my advantage. Im usually a man of few words when meeting new people that i dont necessarily like and try to avoid them at all costs. Shinji (Evangelion) - Once in a while ill always question life and ask myself "why am i here" or "what is the meaning of life". Its sorta fun asking myself these questions since it motivates me to know that i am alive and breathing. Some people arent always as lucky and Shinji realizes that and i try to help others that are less fortunate. Ill go out of my way to sometimes make someone else happy before i worry about myself.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka The kids aren't necessarily staying up. They are setting their VCRs and recording it when their parents don't know. Then, they watch it when their parents aren't around. If their parents come in the room, they turn it off. Just look at the VanWagoners. They do it all the time. The youngest one of them is 10. So yes, there you have it. You don't see ADULT swim stopping all of these kids. Which is my entire point.
I see your point, and i did that when i was around 9ish as well....starting taping the programs. The only thing is my parents realized what i was doing after a while, and just took the VCR away from me. So basically your right, there is absolutely no way Adult Swim can stop certain youngsters from watching there programs. One way or another, if a kid wants to see the shows that badly they'll find away around it. Its not the parents fault at all, like back in the day my parents would be in bed sleeping around 9 at night. So sometimes i would stay up and just sneak downstairs to watch T.V. when they would take the VCR away. Parents cant watch their children 24/7 so its basically whether or not a kid will be obedient towards their parents and not watch the programs. The only thing Adult Swim can basically do is have a warning for parental guidence which they already have anyway. That will save them from law suits such as these. -
Originally posted by Aoshi Shinimori I see what you mean Front Man. He used the move perfectly so he had to had some practice. I never though of that. Thanks for pointing that out. But who's body would it be? And maybe frieza new that he had that power to switch bodies so he kept his guard up around Ginyu.
True i never did think of that and Frieza probably did know about the move. Frieza probably had all the information about the Ginyu force before they even became partners. Think about it...Frieza was a pretty smart character out of everyone in the Dragonball/Z/GT series. Even if so, like someone mentioned above...why didnt Ginyu just use the move while Frieza had his back turned or something. That would have been one wicked twist if he did that. Oh well i guess we'll never know.
-
The way i see it is that is not Ginyus real body the first time Ginyu and Goku meet. The reason i say this is because Ginyu used the move without hesitation and used it so easily....without breaking a sweat or waiting such a long time to use the "change body" move on Goku. Plus he punched himself in the stomach (not sure if it was somewhere else in the uncut version) basically showing that he kinda mastered the skill/technique. I assume Ginyu probably did it several times before encountering Goku just for the thrill of getting stronger. My only question is....why did Ginyu never think of doing that type of move on Frieza?
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel It's only six episodes. I don't know how many times people expect them to show those same ones.
LoL and i think of the 6 times i saw that anime, i must have seen the same one 6 times. Yea its about time they moved on to another anime i agree with Semjaza. Its not like they replaced it with another anime that has already been seen that doesnt have new episodes. Instead they did a smart thing and replaced it with Inuyasha which is showing new episodes. So i suggest to just start watching that anime instead....even if you havent seen it from the beginning. -
Well of course they do these sort of things....its called marketing. Just think about it the creators of the anime have to get a piece from the profit so i think they could basically care less if someone such as Toonami sells products from the website. Animes or anything that starts to get popular, products are one of the biggest keys for making money. Like you said they'll make pillows, mouse pads, tooth brushes....basically anything to get money. America isnt the only country to do this though. Its kinda obvious that other countries do. Trust me though you shouldnt let it bother you that much, it doesnt screw anime up at all. If anything it makes it more popular since kids(and adults) may see others wearing or using a product from there favorite, and they might want to check it out and get hooked on it as well. Basically in short, all these products being made dont really mess up anime...its these industries to make money. It wont effect the outcome of an anime series at all.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
pbfrontmanvdp replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Ok im not sure if this was true....nor do i even really watch DBZ anymore, but i stumbled upon this information about these movie being shown on cartoon network. DBZ Movies on Toonami Posted by: Jon - Sunday, August 24, 2003 @ 12:03 AM ET DBZ full length feature films are coming to Toonami every Friday in September. It should be playing at 6 pm EST. The schedule is as follows: September 5: Bardock: The Father of Goku September 12: The History of Trunks September 19: Cooler's Revenge September 26: The Return of Cooler Whether or not people will be interested in watching any of these movies is beyond me. I will highly recommend watching the Bardock movie out of all of these movies that are supposedly supposed to be shown. It helps a lot from what happen with the Frieza saga. Alright well enjoy. P.S. Also some more info that i found on this website (hope its not advertising but i want to give them credit i found all this information on http://www.dbzn.net/ ) was that they will be airing new Dragonball episodes starting in Sept. I actually liked Dragonball and its the only episodes that i have not seen yet so im going to give that a shot and start watching them. -

Thx.

What....i say it agian what. I watched all the way up to Home Movies and i didnt see them mention theotaku. During what show did they show it in a commercial. Anyway that is pretty cool now i want to figure out who runs adult swim. Ha for all we know he/she might be some secret member on here. Congrats for theotaku and the mods.
Originally posted by Sniglefager If you think that's cool,
then wait till the last battle of DBGT;)

I thought that the whole idea of there even being a
SSJ4 was completely ridiculous. SSJ3 should have been the limit since once they got to SSJ4, it was basically the same thing anyway. The only difference was Goku getting his tail back and everything, he didnt really use any different types of moves. And the last battle between Goku and Evil Shenlong was horrible i couldnt laugh any harder at it. I still think they should have stopped at DBZ....the only thing good that came out of DBGT was the Super 17 saga.
I would have to say mine would have to be the Sayian Saga. All the old fashion stuff was great. That and the Freiza saga pretty much introduced what moves were going to by used throught the whole series of DBZ. Just meeting Vegeta for the first time wanted me to watch this anime for a while...basically just up to the Cell games. After that it kinda started getting a little boring. Plus Napa was amazing i feel sry that he is
only showen one more time in DBGT
. He would have made a great character to have through the whole series. Oh well Napa desirves to be wished back.

Anime What's the longest you've gone without anime?
pbfrontmanvdp replied to Moor_Child's topic in Otaku Central
This is kinda a crazy topic, but ill post in it anyway. I really dont know what the longest time would be for me other then if i dont have enough money on me. I dont know if your talking about either watching new anime series or just watching anime in general. If your talking about watching anime in general than i would basically have to say i never have...only if i go on vacation. Theres always something on T.V. and i have enought DVD's to last me about a year to watch anyway, so i probably havent gone that many days without watching at least one anime show. -
Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
pbfrontmanvdp replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Even though i know she is not going to win since she has such an insignificant arguement, there have been times when arguements such as these have won in court so there is always a slight chance. Like someone said before about it being on a non-noticable website makes this case of little importance to begin with. Why this lady would want to sue a television show she has little backround on is beyond me. She of course never stated whether she saw the warnings of it not being suitable for kids under the age of 18 (even though it is PG-14). And i love how people brought up that she might not have kids, this makes it even more bizarre. Maybe she was gettin p/o that her husband was paying less attention to her at night and decided anime was better than...yea. I dont know i just think this is completely off the wall and i would like to see how far this lady will actually go.
