Varies depending on the songs high action/low action areas, but around 2 - 2.8 MB a minute, yeah.

Nice work on the Halloween theme guys. It was a great surprise ^_^ Edit: "Torture Chamber: Get your Miyamoto orgies here!" ROFL. I didn't notice the renamed forums until just then.

I think that mp3 players are definitely the way to go. Granted, you might not have 'that' much music, but you could buy a smaller size player. They're a lot easier to carry around, and you don't need a ton of other things to use with them. Ones that have a navigation or sorting system of some sort also means that you can find what you want to listen to fairly rapidly. No skipping. Long battery life. Ability to easily and quickly change what you have on there. Doubles as a portable HD. Why is it that you want a CD player? You can find mp3 players for a lot less than $200, lol.

Do I like a thousand songs...well, let's see. I have 758 songs that are rated as 4/5 stars. Take off maybe a hundred that I don't really listen to or like much any more. Take off a few more. That's around 600 songs. Now, say there are also songs that I'd just like to have on their [i.e. album tracks] and there you go. 1000. I wouldn't say that I need a thousand songs. It'd take me hundreds of hours to listen to all of that, lol. But that's on a 5gb player. That's not even something obsessive like 60gb. It's just useful so that you can listen to whatever you want, whenever you want. I can fit a bit under half of my music on the 5gb model, and that's plenty for me. I don't know where you're pulling this "You'll have to put on tracks you don't even like" business from though.
i dont actually own either an mp3 or an ipod lol i have a discman which, tho its 2 big and you cant carry music in it, is just fine for me :catgirl: But i am lookin into buying an mp3, not an ipod, no way.never lol Not for any of the technical reasons but simply because with an mp3 u press play and your off, with an ipod you hafta press the middle to get your menu, scroll around, click, scroll, click until you FINALLY reach the song/album you want then if i want to turn it down/up your off scrolling again! I find it a lot less time consuming to press play and left/right tbh :animesmil [/FONT']
Actually, I'd consider the iPod navigation system to be one of the best. Trust me, just pressing "Next" until you find what you're after is a pain. Even with 30 songs, nevermind any more than that. Besides, you can just have Play All with the iPod anyway. It's way better, lol. It's not like it takes any appreciable amount of time to find a song anyway. I don't really know what you're complaining about.

Morpheus just basically summed up why mp3 players are way better than discmans. Imagine 1000 songs. How many CDs would that take up? If you exaggerate, and say that most CD's have 20 songs, then that is 50 cd's, which, if you have a big case, is fine. Now, you put your 50 cd's, discman and three packets of batteries in your pocket. What? Can't fit them in?
Don't. Ever. Buy. A. Creative. Product. Ever. Never. Never. Ever. I bought a Zen Micro, thinking that it would pwn the heck out of an iPod Mini. What I failed to do was check the support forums at Creative, and see that there is a manufacturing default with the headphone jack. Apparently, it's not properly soldered, and it falls out after approximately one month of usage. I treated mine like a newborn baby, and it still stopped functioning. I've been dealing with their horrible support about it... *grumbles* Besides, the headphones the Micro came with broke on day three. The right earpiece didn't output sound anymore. Creative fails. Don't buy it. Go to its support forums, and read the eighty page topic complaining about the headphone jack defect. You'll change your mind.
Maybe next time you'll check out the mp3 player before you buy it, lol. A clever consumer always checks out what they're going to buy before buying it. I have a Creative Zen Neeon, and I'm fairly happy with it. I've used around half of the space, and I have 490 songs on there. It isn't going to hold the 1500 that the spiel on the front promises, but when they're talking about 64kbps, they're never going to. The thousand songs will last me more than long enough. There are some things about it that I don't really like [the click wheel, folder organisation] but for the price, it's not that bad. Much better than an iPod, even if the system on the iPod is easier to use.

Cleverly constructed piece Adahn. I like how you've kept it short and graceful. You haven't lumbered on too long and made it awkward, which is great. The scenes fade into each other quite well, and the reader can quickly determine what's going on. A nice piece to read ^_^
Yeah, I have to update some of our other gradients to match. ^_^
Cool, no worries then :)

I actually preferred the old header, though this one is pretty good too. The other one's tones just seemed to match the site better, I felt. Oh well, no worries. Except for the fact that the drop-down buttons have a lighter grey square around them. In some places they blend in [become transparent] properly, but in others they don't. Notably, Quick Reply and Similar Threads.

Fight Club, whilst a very slick movie, wasn't really smooth to me. There is a difference, and it feels intended to be both abrupt and staccato, in it's own way. As I said, I think your writing style for this piece really caught the tone of the movie.

Change the values for the sections you want transparent to, for example, ZXYUVT, and it should appear transparent.

No worries on my end of things, heh. Although I did have one incredibly slow connection to mO this morning, everything else has been pretty good.
-
Aside from the typo right at the end there, that was excellent. I really enjoyed reading that - I liked how you perfectly captured the mannerisms of Fight Club, and the whole mood that that movie generated. It's a quite different take on it, heh, but a good one anyway. Nice work Mitch.

I think I know what you mean Des - I've had an issue whilst using JS scripts in the header. Perhaps if you tag it at the end of the body code?

No gap for me either Jamesy ~_^

Oh nevermind its write.
ROFL. How ironic. It sounds like an interesting idea, but with the advent of Google - maybe not so difficult?

America's struggling economy is a big worry to many countries I'd imagine. And the Avian Bird flu has been around for a fair while, the problem is that it could quite possibly mutate into a species that can readily pass from human to human. The bird flu itself is not really related to over-population, and it spreads due to migratory birds which pass it among the local populace.

Retribution: I appreciate the concept behind what you've designed here. I get what angle you're trying to cover, and I think you do it pretty well. I like the colours and what you've done to the individual boxes, but my main problem with your piece comes from the spacing. I think that you should either make the overall border smaller, or increase the space between boxes so that they are even. It just looks a bit odd with the different spacing. Delta: Great Literature isn't exactly covered by Einstein I'm afraid ~_^ Nonetheless, this is your interpretation of the subject. Regardless, I don't like the style here. You make good use of symbols and individual components, but together it just...doesn't fly with me. Plus, 'Annus Mirabilis' is a term that I continue to misread, and get the worst impression, lol. My vote lies with Retribution.

To be brutally honest Warmaster, I never even noticed until you said something. You'll get over it. Besides, I think it probably looks better that way.

You could also just make your login name and password the same, and then it doesn't matter :p

Not an original idea, sorry, lol. I think we've had a suggestion along these lines before. But how much help could a 'counsellor' be? I mean, if you read the Rules, then that's all you need. It isn't all that daunting. But if you see a newbie who seems to be floundering, by all means, send them a PM. I just think it's probably unnecessary to implement an official system kind of thing.

Forget the war on Terror- It's a War on Porn

Is anyone here actually optimistic about the likely 'success' of this operation? It's more futile than Iraq, lol.
