1. Yeah, the Rules pretty well much rock. With the kind of attitude you seem to have, you'll do fine mate.
2. This is really good, in my opinion. Obviously, there are many issues left to be worked on, but moving out the settlers is a good step in the right direction. I think that Palestine and Israel should merge to form Israelistine. Obviously, it's not going to happen. But one can hope :p
3. The only exams I've done are my Yr 11 mid-semesters. I did pretty good in them. I got over 80% in Chemistry, Intro Calc, Physics and Economics. I got my worst English result of 68%, but still got an A for my semester. G&T I got 64% in, and passed semester with a 'C', which was good.
4. Haha, yes poor Gavin and dialup :p I downloaded Google Earth a few weeks ago, but haven't been bothered to run it, not even once. I've been on Google Maps before - and I can bet that you won't be able to see my hometown in close-up mode, lol.
5. I too recommend Imageshack. Just upload your original banner on there, and you'll be set. I'd strongly encourage dumping imageshare.biz - who wants advertising in their signature?
6. If this was implemented I can see somebody stumbling into this forum in a few months time, saying something along the lines of "why do u have wierd spoilers they al look silly and orang and red r bad colors for spoiler tagz why do u have them like that it looks silly u should change it!" But hey, whatever, lol.
7.
]Sorry, one who uses childish namecalling is the fool themselves. You don't think 6 days isn't reasonable for God? lol. Where is your opinion on the matter of this subject? Blindness? That would be you, hence your useless post just for the sake of bashing.
Well, you completely missed what I was saying. You explicitly stated that "6 million era's" was impossible for God to make Earth. Yet you willingly accept 6 days? That was my point. Are you a fool? Why yes, yes you are. I'm not bashing you. When somebody refuses to believe what is real, and backs up their 'case' with what could pretty well much be termed an 'unreliable source', then yes, they are foolish. You seems to be saying that because the Bible fails to mention something, it cannot exist. Does the Bible anywhere explicitly state the existence of the dodo, or the thylacine? Yes....no? Could it possibly be because the people who wrote the Bible had never heard of these creatures. Does it mention kangaroos? Starfish? I mean, sure they exist now. But, if instead of seeing them alive we only found carcasses or fossils, would their existence be any more doubtable? That seems to be what you're saying. You cannot take the Bible at face value. And you claim incredulity at the formation of fossils? Some animals which are quickly buried after their death (by sinking in mud, being buried in a sand storm, etc.) over time, become covered by more and more sediment. The parts of the animals that don't rot (usually the harder parts like bones and teeth) are encased in the newly-formed sediment. After a long time, the chemicals in the buried animals' bodies undergo a series of changes. As the bone slowly decayed, water infused with minerals seeped into the bone and replaced the chemicals in the bone with rock-like minerals. The process of fossilization involves the dissolving and replacement of the original minerals in the object with other minerals (and/or permineralization, the filling up of spaces in fossils with minerals, and/or recrystallization in which a mineral crystal changes its form). This process results in a heavy, rock-like copy of the original object - a fossil. The fossil has the same shape as the original object, but is chemically more like a rock! Some of the original hydroxy-apatite (a major bone constituent) remains, although it is saturated with silica (rock). There. Basic science lesson for you.
8. So, let's replace the 'facts' in a book which is, let's face it, not even believed in by more than half of the world's population. let's also ignore the fact that there are bones, and that it is reasonable to postulate where they come from. Let's pretend it's all a big conspiracy. Let's pretend that there is not an over-abundance of evidence to support the existence of dinosaurs. Yeah. Geez, who needs all that stuff anyway?
"It's impossible for God to create the Earth in 6 million era's"
Yeah, but six days is, y'know, reasonable. Let's also face the facts that you have no idea. If you ignore physical reality, and base everything in your life from a book - and a religious book at that - then you are a fool. And probably too much of one to overcome your own willing blindness.
9. To be honest, I think you're just being unnecessarily picky. As they are, spoiler tags are obvious and effective. It works fine. If it ain't broke don't fix it - it isn't really that much of an eyesore. Personally, I'd be repulsed by sky-blue.
10. Australian White Male. 170-ish centimetres. 50 kilograms. American father. Australian Mother. Australian side - mostly English, I guess, but there is a Greek somewhere back there. American side - no idea.
11. I don't chat with many people - in fact Aiyisha is about the only person I consistently chat with. You all need MSN. Hence, my housemate decisions are based solely on what impression I've gained off people. Aiyisha: We chat just about everyday, and I am hosted by her. So, it makes sense. Hevn: Couldn't deprive them of each other now, could I? Generic NPC #3: I've always had a great respect for Tony, and he seems like he'd be an easy enough guy to get along with. Doc: Again, we chat but rarely, but I think it'd be fun. As long as he quit with the leg-humping >=O John: He needs a break from Kansas. Neuvoxraiha: We used to message each other regularly. In fact, around 1000 of my PMs are from her, lol. Plus she'd make it...interesting ~_^ Corey: Couldn't leave Captain Chubb behind. Gavin: Yeah, the Irish one. We have some very different views on things like religion, but it'd be good to have him anyway. Azurewolf: Pretty well much the same reasons as for Gavin. Plus I always see him on MSN but don't talk to him. Sorry Azure! Chaos: Neil would be a pretty interesting person to meet IRL, I figure. We've exchanged words, so it'd be interesting to see how it turns out.
12. Oh, and alert. He's trying that same trick as that other guy from a few months ago - he isn't actually banned, thats just his Custom Title.
13. I would love to join the OBGT, on the understanding that my time is limited and I might possibly miss my round: in which case I shall bow out.
14. It's OK. He's been banned. But I think his custom title says it all...
15. Solo hasn't been staff for quite some while now, I believe.
16. Well, I noticed it a long time ago. Eagle eyes people, eagle eyes.
17. Code Name / Call Sign: Tetros [308-A Class] Gender (If Applicable): Male in Appearance Location: Saltflat Aeronautical Training and Experiment Center [Australian Outback] Age: 17 years since activation. Personal Appearance (Images are acceptable): Here. Personality/Behaviour: Ordered, precise and alert, Tetros likes to control any situation with an iron fist, sans velvet glove. He is ruthless in his determination not only to be successful in his missions, but to counter and crush any eventualities along the way. Domineering and a bully, whilst consideration will be made in hopes of the least amount of collateral damage as possible, to Tetros, winning is quite literally everything. Success at all costs. A busload of civilians, a teammate, no matter. Tetros views it as his mission to save the world, with or without external losses. But do not make the mistake of assuming that Tetros is altruistic. No. He was made this way. Personal History: Tetros was activated 17 years prior to this date. He was meant to be the forerunner of a team of super-skilled robots capable of infiltration and destruction of entire enemy units. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, there started to be less and less major skirmishes. Of the three 308-A Class robots who had been produced, one was destroyed in an unfortunate incident, one has disappeared, and Tetros is the only one left who's location is known. For the first 8 years of his 'life', Tetros was tested to the limit of his abilities in every situation his creator's could consider. As an android, obviously Tetros has little room for improvement - he knows precisely the limit of his abilities. He knows what can, and what cannot be done by him. He accepts this. Unfortunately, this can also lead to some underestimation of others. After being forced to admit that Tetros as a lone creation would not be suitable for the operations they had previously planned, he was shut down and put into storage. Whilst he was there, things heated back up again. His nation was attacked, and an invading army swept forward. And one day Tetros was re-activated, and found himself gazing into the face of someone who he didn't know. And he knew, from the language he could hear, that this was not right. He broke off the scientist's neck, and gathered any items from storage that he could think of. He escaped the laboratory, lethaly wounding another three men in the process. He then left the country, and eventually found his way around a fair proportion of the Earth to Australia. Here he applied at SATEC for a position as an Engineer/Experimental Pilot. He has been busy there for the last three and a half years. Special Skills or Abilities: Obviously, pinpoint accuracy and precision, experience in many varied situations and somebody who excels in much. He shows particular aptitude in piloting, driving and reconnaissance. Firepower: Commonly a G3 Metal-Storm attack rifle. It has an Infra-Scope, a Nightscope and some other unique attachments. He also carries a Maghook, automatic pistols, and various other goodies. Combined with his artificial strength and speed, it makes Tetros a formidable opponent. Player?s Availability: A few times a week, possibly. Once at the minimum, probably four times at the very very most. Which Otaku Thread Rating Do You Expect Your Posts To Fall Under?: I'm not expecting any sex, but violence could quite possibly be central. I'll go with an 'M" thanks, Eddie. ---- Any concerns, just PM me and I'll see what I can do.
18.
Who exactly is[/i'] Marilyn Manson and why would she punch someone?
... Priceless, priceless. Go here, and learn all about 'her'.
19.
"Why couldn't god be responsible for evolution?"
Ba-dum ching. Beat me to it. Tony is right. There is nothing to say that God isn't a scientist, as such, who actually made the Earth in the manner believed by evolutionary scientists. Now, that'd be a nice compromise. And, just for another example of evolution, but on a smaller level than Tony's, think about all the super-resistant viruses sweeping our hospitals.
20. I see communities as a web of relationships. Essentially, some people are 'bonded', and some are not. In context of OB, if you've never seen someone before, then you are not bonded to them...unless you've heard about them through others. If there are people who you see around often and respect, but have never spoken to through an IM for example, your bond is different compared to someone you often speak with. And, as with all social situations, certain groups become obvious. You notice those who fawn and bootlick, those who don't give a damn, those who care about everyone, and the quiet ones. People will separate, like oil and water. Only those who are somewhat similar will bond. Of course, some people are more popular or outgoing than others. As such, they tend to have a larger group of associates or friends, and tend to be more towards the center of their 'group'. Watching from an objective vantage point, you can clearly see the distinguishing marks between groups. You can see who ties them together, who is closely related and who is not. Some people are natural magnets for others, and tend to have their own group which is separate to another magnet's group. But the magnets themselves may be closely related, in terms of the social web. I suppose it could be thought of as a galaxy. The bigger brighter suns are the more popular and central figures, with their planets, varying in size and centrality. These suns and planets in turn, may interact with other galaxy's suns and planets. Obviously, it gets quite complex, but I believe the distinctions are still there. I'm not saying that these distinctions are a bad thing, or in any way negative. People gravitate towards certain people, and tend to associate with some people more than others. It is only natural. So, what does everybody else think about this. Any revelations about the nature of the political or social working of a forum? Things that you yourself have noticed? Have no idea in hell what I mean?
21.
...that they are hated and forbidden by God, and with very good reason I might add.
And what very good reason would that be?
22. I think Who? is right. And, in that spirit, I think all forums should be renamed things like 'Grammatron', 'Spifflicate', 'Tetrahedron' and maybe we could lash out and make one called 'Salmonella'.
23. Perhaps the Adam and Eve story is true, and as we currently are, we are but a poor reflection of super-intelligent ancestors with three legs and numerous eyes. I feel so retarded and deformed...
24. Aside for the fact that hotlinking is not really encouraged/allowed. Yes, you do 'ned' some help. If you find an image that you think would make a good background, save it to your computer and then upload it to Imageshack. Copy the 'direct image' URL that it gives you when uploaded. Then, back to myOtaku. Go into 'Edit Styles' and 'Add Background Image', and paste that URL in there. It will likely be another crappy, eye-numbing background like far too many out there, but nevertheless, a background it will be. Enjoy.
25. I think I get what you're saying here Lunox, except I think that culture is maybe not so important as freedom. Never having lived in a 'restrictive' culture, or one as relatively pure as one like Iran's, I am not really placed to say that culture should be put underneath freedom. Obviously, there are situations where freedom and culture directly clash. However, raising the issue of freedom no matter what brings things like abortion up, where you could really argue that the only person the choice belongs to is the mother. Nevertheless, whilst culture is certainly a nice idea, it isn't always the best thing, especially when operated in a manner like this. Personal freedom is perhaps the ultimate ideal, to my mind.
