1. I was hoping that I wouldn't be required to make this statement, but my previous post was me being ironic. And funny. The thing is it's true. There has always been good posts and bad posts, and the average quality level has risen. Rhym, you're just looking at the past through rose-coloured glasses. Wake up, and realise that, in fact, the boards are not being n00bed, and quality isn't d3cl1n1n1g. 17'5 ju57 ur 1m4g1n4710n. All joking aside, I am being completely serious. Anyone who is complaining about waves of n00bs and such...geez. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Perhaps we here at OB have become too decadent and exclusive in our views of what is truly sub-standard. Perhaps some people need to be sent out into the Wilds of the internet, and find out what truly is unacceptable quality. And perhaps these people also need to learn some tolerance. As Corey said, nobody arrives here perfect. And I would have thought that the 'Newbie'/'n00b' distinction was obvious. Maybe it's just me.
2. OH EM GEE SO U LYKE, JOYND ONE!!1111 [1!!] RPG LYKE U NO AGES AGO AN IT WUZ LYKE GUDD AND LYKE NOW U THINK ALL TEH RPGS ARE CRAPEY!?!?! 3. Parents are already struggling in accepting responsiblity. Now they want to foist the entirety of their children's sex education onto the school system? That's pretty crap, lol. I'm not going to deny that the contribution schools have towards Sex Education is important, but nevertheless, how the hell did people survive before schools started Sex-Ed programs? It's a question that needs to be asked. The fact is, it is not a school's responsibility to encourage certain sexual attitudes amongst it's students. All that schools need to do is tell them the facts. Parents then need to step up to the plate and imbibe their children with the correct attitudes and such towards sex.
4. Kiarue, there isn't anything to analyse. You're a New Member, you have no signature, and you like teddy bears. There, thats my spectaciular assessment. Inuyasha Fandom, you...like Inuyasha [having devoted your SN and most of your signature to him], but you're either feeling pretty unloved and depressed [or would like to give off that impression], judging from the lines in your signature, and your Custom name.
5. Equation Of Health. This is for every idiot who freaks out about carbs and kilojoules. What you put in [< or =] what you put out = Weight loss [or] fitness. The fact is, what you put in should be a constant coefficient, and the best way to stay healthy is to increase what you put out. Thats right folks. Exercise. Play sport, it's better than working out. Jog, walk, swim. Personally, I have been doing situps and pushups for around a year, and I have definitely noticed an improvement. I play sport only once a week now, but ever since I was six years old I have been involved in sports, and not only school-based ones. This year my life is slightly more sedentary, and I'd love to play more sport. Except I don't have as much time as I used to. However, I've never been overweight, or even chubby. I'm between 50-60kg, which is probably the ideal weight for me. Mum and I don't eat incredibly healthy all of the time, but most nights we have vegetables, and we very rarely have fast-food. I completely fail to see why people get so freaked out about 'dieting' and stuff like that. Metabolic rate is an important part of how quickly you gain weight, but surely people realise that exercise and healthy eating isn't very difficult....surely they must realise.
6. Quick Reply when you Include Original message never works for me. I always end up with a few lines of code, at the top of the page, and nothing else. Firefox, WINXP, ADSL
7. Seeing as you two are best friends, I think it is necessary to warn you that if you ever do go out, and it doesn't work out, it will put a huge strain on your friendship, and probably break it. I'd also like to warn you that as current best friends, the transition might be a bit difficult, and uncomfortable. Now as a guy who is rather oblique when it comes to relationships [once bitten, twice shy, heh], I can make a good guess as to where this guy is currently at. If he doesn't like you, and likes someone else, then he can probably deal with the fact that you like him, and may be content to flirt with you. It doesn't mean he wants to go out with you, and the sad fact is, he never may. On the other hand, if he does like you, then he doesn't want to ruin the friendship you two have. Either way, things are difficult, and could possibly get messy. As has been suggested, a casual approach could work...and leave your friendship intact if he rejects the idea. However, there isn't really anything that we can say that'll tell you for sure what to do. I don't know you, I don't know the guy, and I don't know all the details. Are you a gambler, is really the question.
8. The Question: What is stopping you from constructing a well-fleshed out "RPG" which utilises back-stories and descriptive scenes in addition to awesome fighting scenes? The answer: Absolutely nothing.

10.
So, in comparison to my friends, I am quite a lightweight, but apparently not compared to you, you soft Americans! [Only joking, guys, I love you really']
I assume you're talking about me, lol. I'm Australian. Yeah thats right. And I wrestle crocodiles in my spare time!
11. It was the first time I'd ever drunk more than a sip, lol. But yeah, I am a lightweight. My dad though is a cast-iron stomach. He drank a whole Cougar bottle [11 standard drinks] in not much over an hour, and wasn't even drunk. He's a bit of an alcoholic, lol, but still. I was impressed :p
12. Over here in Australia, the legal drinking age is 18. When I was camping last school holidays, I had a drink or two, but I was only 'drunk' to the degree of being a bit unsteady. I didn't even pass out, so I can't have ben that drunk :p I'd had two Jack Daniels & Cola that night. And later on, I flew out of my tent and threw wup. Not that you wanted to know that, lol. I think the deal with underage drinking is that its exciting and makes you appear cool to your friends. I know heaps of people who go to parties all the time and regularly get completely smashed. Frankly, I don't see the point. Can't people have fun without alcohol?
13. Oh, no!1!! goD dUZN't lyK inCeST!1! im d00mED!!!1 But really. "I know people who've committed incest and had bad stuff happen to them". Well, I know perfectly nice people who've had horrible stuff happen to them. It's a fool's logic. "I eat a clove of garlic every day, and I've never been attacked by a vampire. It must work!"
14. Lucid: Chances are, you like to think of yourself as a sensible and logical person, or alternatively, love the word and how it rolls of the tongue. If the latter is true, you might not even know what the word means :p Perhaps at the moment you are mourning a death, feeling lonely, or perhaps depressed. Or possibly it is just the aura of a lonely heart that ytou want to give off. And the odds are you like whoever it is in your banner & avatar. More insightful conclusions from the Baron.
15. Perversity, lol. Incest is perhaps something that can't be adequately licensed against. But I do think that it should be illegal. What people do behind closed doors should be private, and only their business. But if a child is formed, the parents should be found guilty of a crime, and charged accordingly. It's not fair on the child.
16. Well, I went through a stage of beimng terrified of burglars. I had a specific 'weapon' in every room of the house. I've grown past that stage, but believe it or not, I check under my bed almost every night before going to sleep. I don't think I'm genuinely worried about someone being there, but...it's just a compulsive thing. Whatever, lol. When I was around 3 years old, there was someone outside of our house. I don't remember it or anything, but my mum has told me about it on several occasions. That'd be terrifying. As it is, I sleep with a hockey stick under my bed. Until the situation occurs, I don't know whether I'd be terrified and curl up in the corner, or get out there and beat the crapola out of them. But I'd like to think I'd do the latter :p However, when you think about it, burglars don't really break in at night. I mean, everyone is home at night. Only a dumb burglar would try to break in at night.
17. Just to point out to everyone, the only problem with cousins marrying etc. is social stigma. The risk of deformity or mental retardation is above that of the general populace, but nowhere near the extent of direct family. So, cousins 'getting together' isn't much of a problem, genetically. The blood is considered 'diluted' enough that there is a fairly low chance of birth problems.

I found this at another forum I visit. I figured somebody here could be interested :p XBOX 360 with hardrive attatchment on top. Wireless headset Wireless controller XBOX Cam [like Eyetoy] Controller close-up. ---- So, what do you all think of it? It certainly looks nice. I probably wouldn't buy it, especially due to possible pricings, and the fact that I don't play many console games. Anyone planning on a purchase?
19. Who wants this wussy 'shock-rod' stuff though, I mean, really. One little zap and you wake up feeling all refreshed. If it doesn't leave a bruise, its not effecive. Out with the extendable truncheons.
20. Dude, whats your point? Because you seem to be just waving your arms around. About what exactly, I can't tell. Length is no indicator of quality. Even an obscenely short post can contain a message, or make a point. Not everything requires a long-winded 1200 word reply. As for things tending to go off topic...well, I don't think its much of a problem. As long as the discussion flows logically, and hasn't become spammy, it'll be left open. I could point you to any of a number of other alleged 'forums', where off-topic involves a lot less than OB's standard. Maybe you do just write as things come to you, but if you don't have any kind of direction for your post, it's pretty difficult to reply to.
21.
Yeah, I can't imagine her being prosecuted for it...the whole thing seems illogical (ie: the idea that she's actually responsible for it herself). But who knows. I am highly suspicious of the judicial system in Indonesia, lol.
I think that she'll probably get life, and if so, Australia will request that she's brought back here for her imprisonment. Life is all that prosecutors are pushing for, but the judges don't have to abide by the prosecutor's recommendations, and the Chief Judge has not allowed a single drug smuggler to live in 7 years, or something like that. So, things could be grim for Schapelle. But it's just ludicrous that they could sentence her for what is plainly something not of her doing. But as for the Bali Nine...well. They're all going to be shot, I reckon.
22. I doubt that too many people outside of Australia would have heard of this case, but whatever. In answer to your thoughts, there'd be no reason to take drugs to Bali. You could sell them easily enough, and for much more, over here. The second part of the question is easily answered too, as the Victorian prisoner showed. A drug ring using baggage handlers was flying drugs around Australia, but that load was missed. If you need any more proof that the prisoner's claims were correct, don't forget that he was stabbed a few days ago. Somebody didn't want to be implicated ~_^
23.
Yeah they were King George's cousins and if you look at Pictures of our Monarch and Tsar Nikolas the similarity is remarkable, as if they were twins not cousins. I also believe that the affliction the Tsar's son suffered from was linked to genetic weakening due to inbreeding (of course this could just be sensationalism)
Thats right. I believe that the last of the Tsars all suffered from Haemophilia, where your blood fails to clot. Even a small cut can lead to death. It's primarily caused through...interbreeding, lol.
24. Maybe there is a sense of draconian authority present in the idea of outlawing incest. And the fact is, how far can they push the law? But on the other side, knowingly having sex with a direct family member should be illegal. You are openly taking the risk that in the slight chance there is a child produced, it will be deformed or psychologically damaged. How is this better than beating up someone and leaving them in a wheelchair? In any situation where a person can knowingly, and without valid excuse, endanger the life or quality of life of another person, an offence is taking place. I believe it should be illegal, even if it appears to be overstepping what many would consider the 'boundaries' of the law.
25.
And I also think that these boards will someday be related to curing cancer. I've been using the forums since 2001 and I've not developed cancer yet. Coincidence? I think not. Thanks James and Adam!
I'd like to second that motion. My brain tumour has actually decreased in size since I started using OB. It was a damn relief, I tell ya.
