If I wanted to know how to use my brand-spanking-new gas gun, the first place I'd look would be on an anime message-board too. I wouldn't waste my time with Google, that's for other morons to do. Keep it up mate!

Stuff you found funny that no one else understood?

I absolutely pissed myself laughing when I saw this, but unfortunately, because not many of my friends spend much time online / play FPS, they don't get it. Only one or two people laughed when I showed them =/ -

You could, alternatively [I believe] put a head section in the middle of your site [ie in the introduction]. It seems to be accepted by IE and Firefox, but will give a nasty flash effect of the underlying page before fading in.
Baron, not to nitpick or anything but I can't find "2006 [Production links]" on the Underworld page anywhere, I've even searched Wikipedia for it and it tells me that it doesn't exist. Could you C+P the parts of the text the links where in please?[/size']
I've actually made a mistake there, with the link mentioned actually being on the Transformers page :p Nevertheless, it is do-able by 2003 in film > 2003 > 2007 > Film > Transformers.
No offense to the teachers, but I think some of the problem lies with them. My eighth grade teacher spent the entire year teaching us what nouns and verbs were. My Latin teacher had to spend most of her time teaching us our own language so we could do the Latin. Few teachers have ever mentioned infinitives, gerunds, or proper formation of verb tenses, and if they touched on those subjects it was not at all in-depth.
Eighth grade? That's pretty bad, if that matches up with Australia's Year Eight. That's first year high-school, or at the very least equivalent to our Year Seven, last of Primary. We learnt about nouns and verbs in Years Four or Five... But that second part of this paragraph is absolute rubbish. I've never even heard of those words, and I read a lot of material. I'd go so far as to suggest that whatever those are, the knowledge of their names is unimportant. You don't need to be taught about infinitives or gerunds to be able to speak 'proper' English. Grammar skills can't be formed by ROTE learning some ridiculous rules. You pick up the necessary abilities by reading. That's all you need to do. Read.

Flying. I mean, having colossal strength would be great, except it could become a bit of a problem if you got angry or whatever. Flying, on the other hand, would be awesome. Would you rather a haunting past or no past you can remember?
I wouldnt mind the idea, For one people don't always wanna post these long informative posts like most moderators want them to do, I know it sorta gets old in my mind Now i like making the long posts sometimes and i know they are trying to keep out the Spammers and what not but there are days i would just like to make a "Lousy" post and not worry about my repercussions for it.
Yeah, I often yearn to make a lousy post to validate myself too. If you could meet other OtakuBoards members, would you?
Baron Samedi replied to a topic in General Discussion
Actually, I'd probably prefer not to meet people from here. I imagine I'd be mortified at the level of blatant anime geekiness, and the general weirdness of having my perceptions of you all shattered. Because you are all albino paraplegics, right? There are only a handful of people here I might like to meet. -
Being on TV all the time would suck... I'd rather watch Oprah. At least it doesn't require your full attention. Would you prefer have a bad, long-lasting cold or break your wrist?

Despite the difficulties I mentioned earlier, I think Moderators are the best choice for nominations, hands down. They should be the least biased, or the ones least likely to be killed by those who don't get an award....yeah. Anyway, I think a good system would be if each Moderator nominated two or three members from their forum who they felt stood out [and who hadn't received an award within the last X periods of time], along with a short description of why they chose them. This list would then be compiled and put somewhere in a thread where members could come and vote on which of the nominees they felt was most deserving of the award. Any nomination system involving members is probably a bad idea I'd say.
Quoted for emphasis. Motion seconded. It's things like this make me thankful that I'm already a member. ...But you know, that it's not only new members that constitute the spammer population. We members should be mindful of our posts as well, yeah? I know some of my posts of late are borderline spam. :animeswea
Ban! Ban! Ban!

Best way to get yourself an awesome signature is to copy mine. Err, what I meant was that you need to let your own style come out. There isn't really a definition of a good signature. Are you more a one word person, or are you bursting with quotes and ideas? Basically, it comes down to what you think your signature says about you.

And I can already see the trouble with people feeling that other people are being favouritised, and [ironically enough] with friends of moderators going without any new title because the moderators don't want to appear biased. In this way post-count was a 'better' way to earn titles because people felt that the ability was on their side. Whilst a cool idea, I think it lends itself to the possibility of too many arguments and general ill-will [perhaps]. Until it's put into practice we can't be sure.... but it's what I can imagine it degenerating to.
