It's the morality of the issue. It's like raping a woman who's on Death Row; it doesn't matter because she's going to be dead soon anyway. Right? Or beating up a kid with cancer. Or going out and bashing quokka's as a group of boys did on Rottnest a year or so ago. It's wanton cruelty, and if you did it to anything else, you'd be in trouble.

He makes some good music. What more can I say? If people just say that he is a rapper, and therefore [whatever], then they are putting their own views on it. His songs not only sell well, but are pretty good to listen to. I don't actively seek him out, but I do think he's pretty good, yeah.

Not the best design ever, lol ~_^ But still, passable. For one, those borders around the navigation look shocking, lol. And the main font you are using is perhaps too large: It just doesn't look very professional, sorry. I love the actual 'CGA' words, but the colours used on the 'Competitive Gaming Association' just doesn't look so good. Have the pale colour all over, rather than a half-half mix, I think. It's a site. I'm not really a fan of the font, but the colours look good, and the layout does have a lot of potential. At the moment it just feels chunky and half-finished. Slim it down, add some more background. It is a decent site, but could be a lot better. I can tell that the site isn't 100% finished, but some parts that you might feel are finished [i.e. navigation] could do with a prettying up.

During one break, a worker repeatedly slapped a chicken in the face until the line started again.

Today, a worker walked the length of the live hang room floor, picking up chickens and throwing them against the shackles.

While one of the workers was talking about football, he ?spiked? a chicken onto the conveyor belt, pretending he had scored a touchdown.

Oh, and if you've got an excitable chicken that always hops out of its pen, maybe it does need to be calmed down a little bit. Short of giving it a tranquilizer, banging it up against something is probably the best course of action.
Uhuh... ...

And because I have not read the Bible, my opinions are worth nought, and my logic, illogical? I have yet to see you reply to some of my earlier posts, indeed your last post was basically a rant, ignoring the contents of the very post you quoted o_O Your argument is based on faith, faith in the veracity of the Bible, and after that, faith in your own reasoning. Thats fine. Don't assume that you are right though. Because you may well not be. Your blind faith means that your opinions on the matter may be taken with a grain of salt too. I'd like to see you take a look at some of my posts in this thread, ones that you seem to have glazed over, and I'd like to see you answer them. Because, this is going nowhere.

Adahn, this isn't just slaughter, with which I have no problem, it is torture. With which I do have a problem. Is there any need to beat, slap and otherwise mutilate chickens? The slaughter of them isn't worrying. It is the cruelty inherent in some of the workers actions which is the problem. Chop their heads of and they're dead Adahn. You don't need to beat them against the wall first.

I can't really say that I have it hard. At the same time, I don't get a helluva lot. Anyway, my mum often makes me feel that I don't do anything around the house. I'm more than willing, but I [as a kid] tend not to notice stuff that needs doing. So, if she wants me to do something, she should ask me. But she always fails to see the logic in that. My life isn't a hard uphill slog. Neither is it a cakewalk. I mean, I'm provided for. But nothing fancy. And I see a lot of other kids getting stuff laid-on, and I feel jealous. lol. Anyway, I don't get much freedom, and my mum isn't always the most understanding person. But she cares, and thats better than some people, I guess.

Adahn, the only Biblical text I've ever read, was the Easter Story, lol. I do have a general idea of the...plot of this 'novel' though ~_^ Sorry. Couldn't help myself, lol. Anyway, just from an un-educated layman's point of view, there are a lot of similarities in the main events between various myths. Christianity is more like the more peaceful version of the older tales. Somewhat. Anyway, here is a quote which may illustrate somewhat, the difficulty that must be had in dealing with Biblical texts.
Hebrew is comprised primarily of consonants; vowels must be supplied by the reader. The appropriate vowels depend on the context. Thus, the text (line 4) may be translated as "and the Prince of the Congregation, the Branch of David, will kill him," or alternately read as "and they killed the Prince." Because of the second reading, the text was dubbed the "Pierced Messiah." The transcription and translation presented here support the "killing Messiah" interpretation, alluding to a triumphant Messiah (Isaiah 11:4). In September 1992, "Time Magazine" published an article on the War Rule fragment displayed here (object no. 12) exploring the differing interpretations. A "piercing messiah" reading would support the traditional Jewish view of a triumphant messiah. If, on the other hand, the fragment were interpreted as speaking of a "pierced messiah," it would anticipate the New Testament view of the preordained death of the messiah. The scholarly basis for these differing interpretations--but not their theological ramifications--are reviewed in "A Pierced or Piercing Messiah?"
And yes Adahn, your flaw is that you cannot view this topic with any...equilibrium in you. You cannot accept either a) the possibility that you are wrong, or b) the possibility of mistakes, or rather, untruth in the Bible. And that is a vital flaw. If you can't look at what the other side is saying, how can you defend your own position? Right here, I could say that the Bible is untrue. I found it to be so in my heart, and now I know [through my 'need' for knowledge] that it is untrue. And you're wrong. I couldn't prove that. Same as you cannot prove your point, because it is based on faith, not proof. And faith comes out of a 'desire' to believe. You want to believe.

Frankly, I don't believe in God, Satin, or angels.
I can't vouch for the others, but satin is real. Real, soft and smooth.
Everybody else isn't right all the time. I am.
Meaning...what exactly? That you will not accept any other views, and are a stubborn ***? In regards to donkeys, that is. If God is the voice in your head, why do I reason out the flaws in God's existence? Siren's analysis of the Bible is spot on; It is incredibly similar to the myths of other cultures, but because it was adopted by an Empire which spread across the world, and still survives now, it has never fallen as the Sumerian, Babylonian, Aztec, Greek or Roman beliefs did. Or any other of the boundless local religions that sprang up in the early period of civilisation. Edit: Well, ignore Roman if you wish. I was just referring to their original pantheon of gods, and how they never spread that. Thats all ~_^

wrist cutter is right... But anyway, I don't believe in God. I agree with you Alex. But I'm sure that a 'believer' will be able to fill us in on the real deal with the situation.

Conversely, I've found there to be some pretty good threads going on in the OL right now, and the activity has picked up a lot. Of course there will always be a thread that you've seen before hanging around. It's because a lot of the big issues have been covered. And covered. And covered. But arguing over them is still enjoyable. The thing is, those kind of topics will always keep cropping up. And I agree with Solo over the initial 'witch-hunt' feel of this thread. I think that CHW is actually a pretty good poster, and contributes a lot to the OL. If you'll check my post background, you'll see that I do my best to start decent threads, that are new and will generate discussion. If you would like to see better threads in the OL, I'd suggest something remarkable; make them yourself. And if you can't think of a single, quality, uncovered topic, then maybe you've reached the impasse most people have.

Nothing wrong with my initials Adahn. Nothing ~_^
Hmm, if you don't know much about the Bible, you really can't understand anything I'm saying. It's a good book, regardless, and you should read it. One of the requirements for all of my arguments is that you have some understanding of the Bible. Read it, and then tell me how you feel.
I can see what you mean, but you based a lot of your 'beliefs' on what you found in your own heart.
You're right, Baron Samedi. People have nothing in common. Oh, and yes I can tell you otherwise. You're so afraid of not existing you can't even admit it to yourself. It's a part of humanity. Get used to it. Deal with it. Like I said before, if you don't need that, you're not human.
People do have things in common. I never said they didn't. I said you can't know what is in everybody's heart. Because, non-existence is... I'm not afraid of it. I don't even think of it. I think you need to get over yourself, and stop assuming that you're right. Yes, people do have some aspects in common. No, you do not know all of those aspects. No, not everyone cares about non-existence. Get used to it. Deal with it. You're only human.
Hmm, my opinion can't be trusted? I suppose my need for food can't be trusted either. I have a need for truth. I hunger for it. Spirituality feeds that hunger. As soon as someone starts deciding whether something is true or not, they're listening to their mind, not their heart. You brought needs and desires into it, you just did it without thinking.
Talk about side-tracked. What if someone, and I'll italicize this for you, looks into their heart and finds there to be no God? That was what I said a few posts ago, and you have not addressed that. Why does spirituality feed your hunger for Truth? Because, your heart craves it. I don't need spirituality. My heart is different. It's all connected. Oh, yeah Adahn, you totally put paid to the Chaos Theory. Completely. Despite the fact that such things occur locally and their repercussions do not spread.

$300 a week? *Mind blows up* Geez, what do they want you to do, scrub the floor with your tongue? Those are excellent wages...just keep in mind that it could be a full-time position ~_^ But still. Congratulations. I'm 15 too, and I really should get a job. I've thought that for quite a while now. Anyway, I am thinking more and more about who to ask for a job. I really need some cash. Once again, congratulations and good luck.

You say very little about the Bible here, and speak mostly of the heart.
If only because I don't know much about the Bible, and because you made a big deal out of finding your own truth 'inside of you'.
Actually, there are certain things a person will find. One is the need to exist forever in some form. If you don't need this, you're inhuman.
Not necessarily. This is in part what I argued before; You do not know what everybody feels, only what you feel. Making assumptions that everybody feels the same way is silly, and, sorry to say it, self-centered. I don't want to exist forever. Why would I? I just want to succeed in the here and now. And you cannot tell me otherwise, because you are not me.
If a person wants God to be untrue, he will think he's untrue. When you say this, you're very obviously moving from the realm of the heart to the realm of the mind.

He'll only find it if he's looking for it and he wants it. Again, we're dealing with the mind. The heart is based upon needs, not desires. When you desire something, your mind immediately starts working. Need is a natural thing. You can't change needs. I need food. I need water. I need to use the bathroom. I need to not be nonexistent.
I said that this 'man' could "find" God to be either true/untrue. I did not bring needs or desires into it. What you are saying is that you 'need' God to be true. Therefore, your opinion cannot be trusted. See where I'm coming from?
What have you proven, again?
Nothing, lol. I was referring to your statement that proving the metaphysical was impossible. And I didn't quote all of your statements, because some of them felt unclear. And because, really, I don't see why we're arguing over the Butterfly Theory, lol.

I was outta breath after reading that first post ~_^ Anyway, I'm...me. There are definitely groups of people around. Some of them could be classified, but mainly, we're all just people of similar interests. I'm smart, but not a geek, and hang with the 'cool' people sometimes. Mostly I just hang with my friends though. There isn't really any enmity between groups, if only because they're not set groups, just mainly friends. It isn't like they're set in stone, it's just habit. Anyway, labels can be useful, but stereotyping is bad.

I've never really given a damn about Otaku politics, lol, but that is one of the things that confuses me. I've never had a problem with ChibiHorseWoman [I know some people have, sorry Chibi, lol], and I never had a problem with cloricus. I know lots of people did- same as Mnemolth [who made an incredibly short re-appearance a few months ago]. I guess some people might have problems with me [for some reason]. Why do lots of people develop enmities of a sort with others online? I just view people's opinions as their own. I mean, I'll argue against them, but at the end of the day, what happens in a thread, stays in a thread. For me, leastways.

If it isn't Kanojo....again. And Adahn, would you care to continue on our previous discussion? My last post remains un-answered. I'd like to see that; I think we were getting somewhere before.

You got spammed man o_O I'd suggest blocking all further emails from Burt/usa.com. And thats about all you could really do, I guess.

I doubt it. The repeated murders, gang crime, et cetera, usually aren?t legally purchased guns. Basically, while truly dangerous people maintain weapons, stripping away people?s legally owned firearms may be a pretty BAD thing. Think about it, if you were a criminal, would you attack the home you knew would not have a gun, or the home you knew very well MAY have a gun?

Like Drix said in his above post. Just because you all ready have a gun to do it with, doesn't mean you will. Would you rather rob someone without a gun and come out alive? Or rob someone who also has a gun, and will use it to protect himself/herself and come out injured or dead? A robber would prefer the former, but if everyone had a gun, you wouldn't want to mess with anyone, lol.
Mmk. So, you're saying that if a person has a gun, they will carry it around with them permanently? I highly doubt that merely having a gun will lower the crime rate. I come into your house, in the middle of the night. I catch you sleeping. I have my gun, you don't. I come into your house in the afternoon, realise there's someone home. I have my gun you don't. If you're going to have a gun in the house, it should be in a locked gun cabinet, without any ammunition inside it. Otherwise, the odds that Billy is going to shoot the cat, or worse, himself are...enormous. If they are locked away, then the chance that you'll be prepared and the burglar won't are low. A burglar has an element of bravery to him, but also, he has the element of surprise, which is perhaps more valuable. So, really, the issue of crime would not be sorely affected. Indeed, killing and shooting may even go up, as desperate burglar shoot the man they're stealing from, or as Joe Bloe shoots a burglar. Also;
A lot of gun crime occurs with people in the same family (ie: someone shooting someone else, particularly in domestic violence situations).
Gun control is not the only issue though... I urge you once again to look at Australia. Very low home robberies, particularly violent home robberies. Again, we don't have guns. American's modus operandi just seems a lot different.

If you could move that pink background behind them a bit more to the left, so we get a more even balance of pink/dark pink that'd be good. Or, perhaps even better, move it to the right, so we only get the vivid pink. Personally, I feel that that character is not suited to the banner. Perhaps a different shot of them would do it greater justice? Anyway, the border for this could well be more elaborate, with several layers. Perhaps black outline, double or 1.5 width maroon line, and a white one? Or something. That might look good. As for that second banner...I didn't really feel that the border matched it, but it works considering it's matched to the avatar [which is great]. But please, stop chopping and changing avatars/banners o_O lol.
-
As I've come to expect, the backgrounds to all of your banners are ace. Nice work. But, I a bit of a problem with your work. Where are the pretty, appropriate and good-looking fonts? Those fonts you've used feel horribly unsuited to your work. They're so...stock-standard. Choose different ones, or download some off the net. Aside from that, the only thing I don't like is your blending on image #2. I think the blurring behind him isn't very...appropriate. Or stylish. But, your designs and layouts are good, and the background excellent. Your cropping is masterful. Just the font and the blurring, really.

o_O Oh. Thanks wristcutter. I just hadn't seen him around for the longest time, and ergo, assumed he had left. Aah well. Thats good.

I don't think online relationships are a particularly good idea. But, I have had a long distance relationship. It didn't work out too well. Because you never really get the physical intimacy...be it kissing, or merely holding hands. In fact, just today, a friend of mine was dumped; his girlfriend found the long-distance aspect of it too hard to handle.
-
You don't need to blindly accept it. But surely, the removal of these weapons, the restriction of their distribution will lessen the amount available to potential murderers? Obviously, more than that needs to be done, but those steps in the beginning will help, won't they?

Does anyone here remember Kazuko, or have any idea how I could contact him now? He was a great guy.
