Only Syk attempted to address my question about the benefits of marijuana. Syk referred to the stimulation of creative processes caused by marijuana. In a way thats fair enough, but is it really much of an excuse? In the same manner alcohol or cigarettes can relax you, or 'lighten your load'. And I don't give a flying **** in hell whether or not cigarettes or alcohol do any good. Thats not what this thread is about. I don't really think either of those two items should be as freely available as they are. But, thats not the point. The positive aspects of marijuana are shady at best...I don't see why people grow to be reliant upon outside measures to deal with their own problems. Find some other way. And, if you want to use marijuana, don't introduce other people to it.

If you misspell a word, it doesn't matter. if i wetn adn tiped like tihs; then I'd probably need to proofread. But, it doesn't really matter so much. If you make good quality, on-topic and reasonably easy to understand posts...you won't have a problem. And, if you can't deal with that well...you know where the door is.

Doesn't it all seem so... pointless?

Sure, after you die, it doesn't matter what you did when you were alive. But don't you want to have the best life when you are alive? And maybe leave some sort of legacy behind? -
At the end of the world, where will you be?

sincerely i'll say that i hope that at time i'll have finished to learn and i'll have reached illumination like "buddha"
Do you mean Buddha's state of enlightenment? And starting to learn is a great first step. I highly recommend it. Lol. -
You need to use HTML to get it to display. Make sure that the URL you are using ends in '.jpg' or something similar [graphical format], which is the actual location of the picture, obtainable by right-clicking and selecting properties. Then, in your Introduction just type {img src=} but, obviously, replace with the image's url, and also replace the curly brackets with

Eye contact is an art. Sunglasses give you a barrier, and make you feel more at ease. Perfectly understandable. Especially as we're heading into summer, I find it...different not wearing my jacket. But, I get used to it. Wean yourself off sunglasses.

What if we look at this from another side: aside from medical uses, what good does marijuana do? It obviously has problems...but lets look at it's good aspects, if any. If you can dredge up some overall positive and otherwise [through safer etc. measures] unatainable effect of marijuana...go right ahead. I'd be interested.

I'll be linking you to this thread. It may have some useful information for you. Or just be a good read, anyway. I started it just after I finished reading Day of the Triffids, lol. Humanity. It is both a blight and...something full of potential. Saying that we are all scum who deserve to die is a bit harsh. We don't always do the right thing...but we are improving. At the sametime, we slide backwards, or continue to make mistakes that we have already made. By what you [doukeshi] are saying...if we don't contribute anything to the universe, then we don't deserve to live? Look at octopi. Do they contribute anything much? No. Should they then be extinct? No. Maybe looking at 'rights' and stuff is not the way to go about it. This is how we are: all we can do is try to improve. If we try, then it doesn't matter. The end of the world. Does that deserve capitals? The End Of The World. Very grand, don't you think? But also as much of a catch-phrase as 'do you want fries with that?' And no, that doesn't deserve capitals. -
If you think that your pictures are good, why does it matter that other people vote it down? And really, you're obviously a new member, and it is stupid to think that there is some kind of conspiracy against you. Nobody even knows you.

Gotta keep an eye on the size of the file. But that was a very good first animation. I don't know what program you used, so I can't compare it to Serif, but it's still a good job. Try out borders though...I know with Serif it's easy to do, bt it might not be with everything.
-
Select the line tool...draw around it. You have to make your own borders o_O

Alriiiight... Now who's being small-minded? Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions...it is when they start to impinge on others that things get screwy. People who hate gays aren't necessarily stupid, you know.
-
Opression on Gays? I'm afraid I don't understand the question... But, really, it's pretty obvious, isn't it. For...well, hundreds of years [perhaps even thousands] homosexuality has been looked down upon, and homosexuals have been ostracised. But, nowadays most people are relatively tolerant of it. They'd just prefer not to know whether you're gay. Most people don't try to drag their sex life around for everyone to see, and neither should you. The thing is, there is a difference between being gay and being gay. Nobody should have to completely hide themselves, but discretion is a wonderful virtue ~_^ And what you may not realise, is that the 'gay-bashers' are the minority. There are probably less 'gay-bashers' than gays. One or two vicious, isolated incidents, and every straight person is a raging anti-gay rioter. I'm not condoning it, but it's not as bad as you think.

Marijuana.com, extolling the virtues of firing up a good toke every now and then. Thats amazing o_O Marijuana has worse, and quicker effects than cigarettes. It is more expensive, and also addictive. It is a gateway drug, and as the effects of the 'high' become accustomed to by your body, you need more to get the same effect. This is why it is a gateway drug. People still smoke cigarettes, even though it is legal. It is for the 'cool' factor, and 'because everyone else is doing it'. It's also stupid. Marijuana should be available for medication, because as Solo stated, it is incredibly different from 'street' or 'homegrown' marijuana. General legalisation is not necessarily [at all] a wise path to follow.

Insert the following into your Introduction, but replace IMAGEURL with...well, your images URL: body {background-attachment:fixed; background-image:url('IMAGEURL');} Also, do not remove the inverted commas on either side of the IMAGEURL.

Also, it would skew the balance of power if a new 'force' was to enter the field. It also turns into an elitist symbol, as well as being unnecessary. Having two power centres would probably be disruptive. Moderators are really all that is needed ~_^

Are you referring to the Groups section in a members profile? It's a defunct, inactive vb3 default. Nothing there, sorry. You could start a Clans information thread in the gaming section though.

I was here for a month or so in 2001 [under a different name though. I'll keep it secret in case they ever catch me and ban me >_>] but had no home PC and so left over school holidays. I have been here since May of 2003 so, thats a fairish while I guess. Though I missed out on a helluva lot. The thing is Siren, a lot of that stuff you said isn't going to go down in the Annals of OB History. It's not big. Not like the OB Hijacking or anything ~_^ Anyway, I guess we're all weak, kow-towing milksops, and thats why it's different. Or, rather, we've all just grown up ~_^

Much better. Your cropping is pretty good too. Paint doesn't work at...well, much quality [in regards to picture] but it doesn't look too bad. I'd suggest a more mellow background colour, and maybe a better font though.

I like Oreos. There is something addictive about the status symbol. If you have Oreos you must be cool. And they happen to taste pretty damn good too.

*shudders* Not another Paint user. What other programs do you have? I don't think Paint can export images as anything other than .bmp, which cannot actually be used [I think] as an online image. Plus .bmp just sucks overall. As for the actual banner...well, the proportions are out, and it looks messy. But, hey, what did you expect, lol? If you can make better banners I'd like to see them. Paint can be used half decently, but you cannot resize or anything. So...yeah.

I wasn't sure where this should go, so I posted it on your mO site as well. I have a concern with theO and searching. I have only tried it with the wallpaper section, but when it brings up the search results, the pictures are missing ID tags and the links cannot be followed. Just thought you should check that out.

To an extent, humans cannot consciously control their love. Our bodies betray us....hormones and other such chemicals actually cause us to fall in love [and hopefully stay in love] with someone. It doesn't matter if we think that we love them because of 'blah-blah-blah', because really we are just reasoning out chemical reactions. Thats why people continue to fall in love. Because they can't really control it.

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special Olympics...even if you win you're still retarded.
Very applicable here. Let me see if I can make an [undoubtedly vain ~_^] attempt to simplify the issue here. Side A contests that Bush is an idiot with no clue, no plans, and should be kicked out and lynched for the war on Iraq and just being a general moron. Side B contests that Bush isn't actually that bad, and that whilst he has done wrong things, and questionable things, you cannot lay all the blame solely at his feet. Side B seems to have more going for it, I'm afraid. Bush may have known that the reasons for the war on Iraq were false. But if we're going to ge into the whole conspiracy theory of it,why don't we say that some ex-CIA boss wants to run the coutnry himself. Or something, right ~_^ But, you cannot say with 100% assurance that he did know all about it. The internet can say whatever you want it to. Most information published on the Net is highly biased.

You make some very good points, and sadly I am not...intimate enough with American politics to refute all of them. Also, it's a 11:45PM and I'm kinda buggered, but you get my drift ;) Leaders will always cop the blame, regardless of whether or not they deserve it. A Leader would rarely make a massive decision without the guidance of members of their Administration. Delegation [sensible, of course...] is the key to successful reigning. You would probably find that many countries have...well, screwed up. With the war on terror, America has become the big target. The outcome of the war may well end up being worth the means, though nothing can make up for the carnage inflicted on civilians. But this is war. Everyday on the Gaza strip, people are killed. In Chechnya, people are killed. In South Africa, people are killed. But, we don't really hear about these so much. Why? Because, it's small fry, and it's old. People don't care about other people being killed, unless their own are involved. Then they care. Running an entire country...being the figurehead for the most powerful nation on this planet would be a difficult job. Bush may well be regretting the war in Iraq, but at this stage if he pulled out everything'd go to hell. His image, his qualifications and his Presidency. Some Iraqi's are pissed right off at America. And they have a right to be. Some Iraqi's are praising America, and the fact that things are finally looking up. And they have a right to be. Opinions and situations change all the time. Every coin has two sides, and if you're on some 'medications' maybe more. You get corrupt politicians everywhere. Nobody's perfect. Maybe Bush isn't a great President, but sometimes you just have to...do something. He may well be a useless prick with no brains, no balls, and no clue. But, he could also be a resourceful, intelligent and purposeful planner. He could just be someone trying to clean up his own mess. He could just be someone determined to stand up for his country. Not everything can fall to Bush, that's all I'm really saying.
