Thanks for that. I'm glad you liked it, and I too though the quote fitted well. Here is the accompanying avatar for it.

I am too much of a wuss to get my ear pierced. But I'm a guy, and don't want one anyway. Nothing disgusts me more than tongue, nipple or other types of rings... Bellybutton is OK, and so are noses. Ears are fine, eyebrows.. passable. Anyway other than that though disgusts me. It just turns my stomach.

Here is Munch from the Abe's Oddysee series. Just a set. When someone replies I'll add the avatar. Hope you all like. Critiques would be muchly appreciated. If you want this, then just PM me, and add something in your signature saying that you got it from me, as such.

I think it actually looks good together with the pixel font. I think it may be a little bit too 'spaghetti-like' in the text, but it isn't too bad. It blends in the modern and the old well. Maybe try some other fonts like that, but I reckon this could be a successful finished version. Once again, I must commend you on this banner. It is excellent.

Wow. Thankyou all very much for the positive responses. I am glad that so many of you seem to like it. In response to your own responses I edited the banner accordingly. Yesterday I couldn't get it to load up though, so I hope it works now. EDIT: Bingo! The jackpot has been struck! Better now?

Indeedly do, it stands for Baron. Sharp spotting there. Kreuzzug is just the name of a band that I know. My banner doesn't mean anything really. I just though it would be a good banner to make. The avatar is a closeup of the Clock-Monster's head. One thing I am worried about is the corner I 'cut off' Does that look OK or not?

Haha. I loved that Boba. I was thinking of doing one, but I might leave it. Anyhow, excellent work there. You really made me hate Semjaza. My blood will hereon boil at the mere mention of his name. Great work.

Once again, a revamp is in order, planned to be there for v7. I will probably add it tomorrow if I get favourable reviews. So, I just want to know what you all think. Please, I would would dearly love it if people replied.

A few things. One: Double posting is bad. Very bad. Two: People will reply if they want to. They don't have to. Complaining about it makes us less likely to respond. Three: The drawing is OK. It is nothing great. The hair especially looks bad, too square and blockish. It just lacks life, it looks like cardboard. The drawing is decent enough, but it lacks the vigour that a piece needs. I am no artist, but I know what I like and what a piece should be like. I can't help you. I am just giving my opinion. Keep trying though.

Mass. Court Clears Way for Gay Marriages
Baron Samedi replied to Semjaza's topic in General Discussion
Posted by James Well, we have already established that homosexuality occurs in animals too. And in various types of animals, for that matter.
I think you might have missed my point. I already know about animal 'homosexuality'. Sometimes female monkeys will fight the males for mating rights with another female. There are various other examples too. However, I was referring to the below comment:
Posted by AzureWolf If I remember correctly (which I probably don't), there are a lot of animals that have a certain period where a strong sexual drive consumes them. They'll basically do it with anything - even a rock. O_o I don't think it's homosexuality that's making them so. Now, if they were ONLY doing it to the same gender and not anything that they tried to do it to, then I'd be surprised.
My point was, whether or not animals are truly homosexual doesn't matter. Humans have intellectual and emotional capacities greater than other animals, which is perhaps why we are capable of homosexuality. How can you say that homosexuality is 'unnatural'. Animals do it, but even if they didn't you could not draw a fair comparison. Humans are vastly different from other animals, and so we do different things. As for the sanctity of marriage.. sadly a lot of it has gone down the drain. Too often people get married without thinking things through. Why shouldn't gays get married? They have as much chance of success as the rest of us. And the right to it. -
That is excellent SPX. I love the layout of it, and it looks really flashy. The faded white boxes behind the text give it definition, and the faded grid in the main picture looks great, and gives it the necessary detail to draw the viewer in. The colours you changed for the character look pretty good, and the banner's background is damn nice. My only dislike is with the larger text. The small text looks good in that font, and originally so did the larger text. However, the more I look at it, the less I like it.. maybe I should only glance quickly at it. lol. Anyway, good work. A revision. "London Daily, 17th August 2005. Due to a faulty chinstrap, Lieutenant Robertson suffered concussive damage after suffocating in his bearskin hat and landing heavily on the ground."

Mass. Court Clears Way for Gay Marriages
Baron Samedi replied to Semjaza's topic in General Discussion
I would just like to add another little bit of something to stew on in this vicious argument. Animals may not be homosexual, but then again animals do not have thinking capacities equal to ours. They do not have emotional powers. Humans can discern possible mates, humans have feelings and urges which are greater and deeper than the primal ones found in other animals. And that is the reason that humans have the capacity for the want of homosexual relationships. Because we look beyond propogation. Does it really matter if homosexuality is 'unnatural'. If you are objecting from anything that is not a religious point, you have no case. If you are objecting from a religious standpoint, I disagree with your case. But it is your beliefs. Four little words to think about. 'Live and let live.' -
I think this is excellent. It is really striking and simple- how I like them, and it shows off the image to the extreme. The font suits it impeccably, and I think the background is rather well matched. As suggested, a brickwall or alleyway would be a really impressive background, but I think this set is quite good. Your positioning of text and overall layout of this banner is marvellous. Aesthetics: 8/10 Technical: 6.5/10

All I have to say is: Excellent. I am glad to see that some people in high places have finally moved on something that should have been done a long time ago. Freedom of personal rights should entail the right to marriage. And that is that. -
In a vain attempt to ruin Simon's chance of a commendation, Rupert prepared Simon's English Breakfast that morning. With a touch of Nightshade to brighten up the dull, rubbery eggs.

I have no doubt that WiP will turn out magnificiently with this v2. I have the utmost faith in your design abilities. Might I ask exactly why 'Mannequins with Kill Appeal' makes you think of the future though? It is a rather odd thing to remind one of the future, don't you think? You anticipating vicious or sexy or viciously sexy mannequins somewhere around the corner?

I think all your quotes were fine. I even laughed at the first one... so keep them. My favourite by far would have to be the Larry's Shadow Games one. I am not incredibly digging the backgrounds behind the pictures- they are a bit too lurid and bright for my tastes, but that is just me. With the right site, they should look quite good. Perhaps having some darker, pastel colours would be better, but I don't know what their background context is going to be in so... we'll see how they go. Overall, I like them all. I always wondered where you got those images- I loved them. Good stuff Semjaza. One little note though... 'Mannequins with Kill Appeal'? lol. That is incredibly strange.

From what I have heard, both from James and around, there will not be a contest for the v7 OB banner. I don't know why, it may give away secrets or something, but at this stage it will be a banner produced by someone 'in on it' I believe. Hell, I could be wrong but thats what I have heard.

Aah, what the... 'Take that you foul demon!'

I can always offer critique on a piece ^_^. Anyway, this wallpaper is quite nice. I love the metal effect and the styling of it- it works well with the theme of this banner. I can't say I like the little metal 'buttons' on it, but overall the edging works quite nicely. The cropping on Rei is magnificent... I wish I could approach cropping with the skill that you have. I know you probably used some tool for it, but I must comment anyway. The background you used is wonderful. I love the style of it, rather like how they portray warping into hyperspeed. Very effective. I do think however that you went a little tiny bit overboard with all the numbers and whatnot. Sure, it looks quite good, but I think one column would probably have been sufficient. It just seems a little bit too much to me. Overall this wallpaper is quite good, and I like it.
Originally posted by lea2385 Hmm...what is the problem with people eating people? What about disease?
I said 'To you or me' eating people is gross. I was making a generalisation of opinion, but nowhere did I say that it was gross. I said that most people think it is gross. Cannibalism has always been looked upon as a low act by society. And what does disease have to do with anything?

Celeb For a Day (Oh Yeah, baby!)

I have both a serious and a humourous vote for this. Serious first, like dinner before dessert. John Cussack. If you have ever seen him in Grosse Point Blank [Is that it?] for example, you will note how cool he looks. I would love to look like that. Plus he is rich and has a nice car, but really.. I just think he looks so bloody awesome in that movie.. Don't know what good it would do, but it would be fun. The Rock: I'd change his stupid name to something more palatable and sell everything he has and give it to charity. Why not ruin him? What kind of arrogant person would actually call himself 'The Rock'? -
Involuntary cannibalism is wrong. But if the volunteer wants to be eaten.. what is the problem? It isn't quite the same as eating an animal, but really, what is so wrong about it? To you or me, eating another human, or being eaten by one is wrong, bad, gross etc. etc. Baron to Earth- not everyone is the same. Some people think differently to us. There are some seriously strange and weird people out roaming the world. Get used to it. We happen to be at the top of the food-chain. Eating other animals is our right. However, unnecessary cruelty and misuse of this right is not fair or good. This is how it is... we should settle in for the long haul.

For any form of art, be it computer design or physical manipulation you need both. Some people naturally have the right mind to see what they want, and have the ability to make it flow out perfectly onto paper, but they also need to practice technique. Some other people really desire to do well, so they will practice. Eventually, they'll learn what looks good, even though they may not have actual talent. Basically, what I am trying to say is that both are necessary. Masterpieces can be created without one, but I feel that both are needed for someone to become great at art.
