1. Ahah. What an extremely odd and.. amusing idea. I don't really think it is particularly good myself, but I... seem to get the impression that it relates to fun movie foods... i.e. [pop]corn[y] How does this relate to your topic of teaching kids about Society? I'm a bit lost. An Ok poster however, maybe if you told me what it is about in more basic terms I'd get it... so far, it is to show students about society in a 'cool' context? Eh? Amusing idea, but sir, could you please tell me why all comic book heroines have bodies like Mythical Sex Goddesses? The whole shebang they have in looks, but why? Do only incredibly sexy babes get gifted with extraordinary powers? Is it to deterr guys from slapping their butts?
2. And finally, Ladies and Gentleman, and other such, here it is, the big moment... My Desktop! Dadadadadadaadaaaa! I might change it though... innovation excites me. And yes, that is a cat you see. It is a program called FELIX. A little cat runs around your screen. lol. Cute little fella he is too.
3. Ahoy, ahaya, Raiha. [Heehee] Ok, let's have a wack at this... Name: Ruben Granite Age: 112 Species: Mountain Troll/Ogre halfbreed Calling: Ex-mercenary, currently pursuing a career in the Tours and Travel industry. Appearance: around 3.5 metres tall, 1.5 metres wide. Arms, like... logs. Big, oaken logs, built to crush stone in the Mountains. Verging on 1 and a half tonnes in wieght, Ruben is no ballerina... though that was his childhood wish. A mottled greenish/grey punctuated by mold spots, no hair to speak of, and a head the sixe of a bucket, Ruben is not what we would call a friendly looking fellow. But he tries. Muscles are a natural feature of Trolls and Ogres, and being raised on the verge of Civilisation: Granite-Fold Mountains, he is about as big as they come. His friendly smile is enough to ruin any chances of his at a friendship. Biography: A shy boy by nature, he was 'enlisted' in the army. After 5 hours in solitary confinement, he gave in, and willingly earned his bluestone, just like all the other trolls. However, he was quite quiet and calm and.. well, basically a wuss. He was teased. He hated fighting and killing. So they kicked him out of the Corps. Bumming around the mountains, eating a few stray dwarfs, Ruben came up with the perfect idea.... Travel! He would take people on guided treks though the mountain passes to other countries of the mountains, make money, and be a really wonderful, sweet guy. Perfect occupation for him. He is currently waiting around for the High Council to pass his permit through, and has to dig his own bluestone for supper. A very sad state of affairs. But he is up for anything, and will probably be applying for a job shifting defecation at the local village. Those latrines need cleaning out, otherwise the whole town would smell worse than it already does. Which is already pretty bad. I mean, he gets a shiny badge and everything, what more is there? .... Weeeellllll. He doesn't really get a badge. The head of the town does, and villages are supposed to be one happy family... and families share... but Ruben doesn't need a badge to prove his self-worth. Not really. Random fact: All Ruben wears is a loincloth made of tough leather. But it isn't to hide his naughty-bits, no. Trolls and Ogres don't have naughty-bits... they are born from very old boulders. So, no parents, and no sex. What an incredibly raw deal. Anyway, here's to me getting in. What was the problem with my post Raiha? I assume it was the garbage disposal bit sooooo.... I changed it. Anything else, don't hesitate to PM me! I got the impression that this was a bit of a ... tongue in cheek RPG. If it isn't I'll readily alter my signup again. This sounds interesting, but would be good if it was.. funny too.
4. Heya. I'm at school, and thought I would give you a glimpse into these wonderful, super-fast, high quality, dependable computers. i.e. they suck. Also note my subtle black-out of my school name. Paranoia is your friend. Heh. When I get home, I'll show you all my real desktop, but for now, drool over the supercomputers my school has. And their desktops. lol
5. Why don't you create an official ratings system.. which people can do themselves, or a moderator can upgrade/downgrade depending on the RPG? A number system [as explained in my previous post] would be a much easier way to do it. Age shouldn't be a factor [despite how shocking some of their knowledge is for 12!], however a warning, or number system would be more effective. To my mind, anyway.
6. Mmmm. Something about this seems to good, too easy too... smooth. I don't trust these people.. may be something to do with the short story I read about this guy getting this sweet job, but it turns into a horror story. This just doesn't rest well with me. Hhmmm. *shudders violently* Anyways, a good story. I love how you did all the story in speech. It still portrays the idea, but cuts down on the annoying bits about books. It also adds mystery and the ability to picture and conceive the storyline differently for each person. Nice job, I can't wait for the next Chapter in this story ^_^
7. Ahah. You are most assuredly an odd being, composed of many different parts and... a unique mnethod of writing. The mix of quaint speech and more modern speech "Yeah. He said we need to go out and get it.? was very catchy and good. Ahah. That was most definitley a good read. Did you have passages before this? I shall iminently go and look for them. Heh. You seem to be a good writer, though the narrative is.... odd. A good odd though. Nice stuff, keep up the stuff [stuff? WTF is stuff? Expand my vocabulary!]. I am waiting for the next passages.
8. I find myself incredibly disgusted with the rules that some Governments and ruling parties endorse. If they were gay, then they would be all for same-sex marriages. Marriage is [generally] a union between man and woman, but that is because they love each other. They marry, because they are in love with each other and wish to fulfil and consummate their feeling for their other half. How are gay people different? They love each other, and wish to be together. Marriage is not between man and woman, but between lovers. They are trying to fob off the obvious and put up smokescreens. If they can pass the anti-gay marriage legislature through the system, it will be a disaster. The smokscreens will become solid, and they aren't really anything serious and real until that moment. I'm all for gay rights and their right to marriage. I believe Australia has gay marriage rights [do we?] but... yeah. There shouldn't even be an issue here. Civil Union is one step in the right direction, but marriage is a basic human right, and... it would be un-beneficial to ban it.
9. I don't get it... If there is a song I really love, or something to catch my attention that I want to see... Of course I would stay. WHy not? If there was nothing else to do, I'd stay there. I don't really see a question here. lol. If there is something I want to see or hear, I'll wait behind.
10. Ok Pt. Here's the real deal on it... Word can interpret the little symbols, but the basic functions of most other programs can't read them. So they'll replace this 'mystery' symbol with a funny shaped square. Not all programs have the same base, and therefore have different capabilites. Like, on MSN, if you try to put a symbol that it doesn't cover in your screenname, a funky little square will come up. It's not just the boards. It is most places. Some fonts that you download don't include '?'s for example. Press "?" with that font, and yep, a little square. Don't fret, and don't use those symbols. That is all you can do with it.
11. I agree with what you're saying Asuka.. despite my mere 14 years of age. But, on the other hand- is there any right to discriminate against younger people who are mature, or know about these facets of society already? If they already are aware of these things, and can contribute... then they obviously have been 'spoiled' and it matters not. I think 12 is too young. 13 and 14 too maybe. But it comes down to the person. Discrimination on age isn't a very good thing. Personally- the age notes should be removed for a ratings system: 1- low level violence/coarse language 2-Sex/drug references, low-level language and violence 3- medium language and violence 4- medium lnaguage and violence and low-level sex referrals 5- high violence, hich languag, medium sex 6 High language, violence and sex 7 Explicit language, sex and violence. This would be more effective, but again it comes down to each persons individual discretion on such matters. You can't effectivley block people on age over the Net. It isn't that hard to lie and cheat, you know. For all you know, I could be 35, not 14. But I am 14, don't worry. ~_^ Basically, these things aren't our responsibility. If they choose to enter into such things, it is their problem, not ours.
12. Fight my brain, the mind is strong, sit and wait, for inspiration. It ain't appearing. It ain't appearing. Homework, burn them brain cells, drive yourself, for inspiration. But it ain't appearing, it damn well ain't appearing. Fight the boredom, procrastinate not, such distractions, NO NO NO! Everything buzzes, distract me, distract me, everything, damn well everything, is distracting, Iyeh. Inspiration ain't appearing, I need some help. Homework, bane of the weary, contender of the world. Inspiration ain't appearing. --------------------------------------------- My first poem. What do you think? Good stuff? As you can guess, I'm procrastinating over my homework...
13. I was feeling messy. So I scrawled. I then regulated. I formed, I scrawled. I had fun. Did you? What do you think of this piece? Perhaps it is too busy... but I find it has a kind of appeal still, my most unique banner I have produced, a lot different to my normal ones. Anyways. All critique welcome, maybe someone will reply to this. That'd be a first.
14. Iyeh. Take a big breath PT. Heh. I was merely saying that I thought such things should be very close. As I view it, you saying it was an image doctored piece removed the need for it to be blatantly obvious from the actual piece. An image can be funny without imperfections, merely from the shear incredulity one finds when we finally see the joke. I don't really think it needed to be obvious like that, because it was obvious anyway. Whatever it is, it matters not. To my mind, having a good imitation does not mean that serious attitudes are required. Besides, what was I gonna say? "Good job. Yeah. Thats funny" Seems kind of pointless. I was just pointing out things, take a 'chill pill'. Iyeh. :) Sure I'm Secretary. But you know how back-stabbing we are. lol. I was just being 'funny', that's all. Pt needs to be a Mod. Then he doesn't need to doctor himself to be Mod. ;) Eh.
15. *runs off* Some idiot has granted PT mod-powers. What kind of crazy idea is this? Do you all want to be beaten into submission by a malignant PT? Iyeh. I don't know. Anyway, down to the piece, having overcome my initial shock and fear. All you did was add your name right? Well, two gripes... 1: The image doesn't really look like the Forum Home base. It is way paler. Perhaps you should have done it all in PhotoShop. 2: Your name is blurred, whereas Mitch's is sharp and defined, which makes it appear doctored. The whole point of doctoring something is that it looks real, corerct? Well, this needs to be sharper. Also the colour isn't correct. The real text is more bluish, whereas yours is black. Humorous stuff though. Even though you scared me half to death.
16. I'm not sure what the deal is with this... I'm getting all confuzzled. Anyways, here is another banner of mine. I'll enter this providing we are allowed to enter multiple banners. Perhaps Nate could re-define the conditions of the competition? ***Edit******** I'll enter this one for the non-anime yet still cartoony banner section, or... the real life-random section. I don't know where it fits in really. Heh.
17. Ahah. This is a really good banner I feel. Man, I am happy with this. But, that doesn't matter. What do you think of it? About an hours' work here, I think it turned out good.
18. Inuyasha Banner- Anime Section Prepare to be blown away by my first ever anime oriented banner. You all feeling pretty down now, eh? Fess up, ya little runts. :therock: My advice for judges- ask if you can get some Mods etc. to vote. They should be fairly objective.
19. "What a coincidence. I mean, I was just watching a show on Past Lives" "Yeah?" "Yeah. They reckon you should reconcile yourself with past people you have met" "Oh..." "Hey, guess what I am in this life?" "Don't know" "I'm a lawyer" And then I lean against the doorframe and watch them run off. Simple. What kind of question is this? If they're hot, you have a hot lunatic on your doorstep. If they're ugly, they're an ugly lunatic. It all comes down to the fetishes. Me? I prefer hot, sane people.
20. Iyeh. Very cool stuff. One of the better banners I have seen here. Different proportions to most banners, looks very funky. I love the colour scheme, the black and white face caps it off. Nice border, and your name depiction is great. Nice stuff, you have made a truly awesome banner. Aesthetics 9/10 Technical 8/10
21. I can't really say that I like your newest banner James... I think the border change is a bit shocking [but still looks good], however what really bothers me with this one is the image. It doesn't seem as sharp and well depicted as your previous ones. It seems vaguely blurry and just... not as defined and well chosen. So, for this banner I give it a low Aesthetic appeal. 4/10. I love all the rest of your banners, and I mean all of them. All but this one. Thats my honest opinion.
22. Hhhmmmm. I don't really like it, because 1: I can't even tell that it is Trigun in the background, 2: The background isn't that good in my opinion and 3: it needs a border. If you like it, that is what matters, but anyways, here are my ratings. Aesthetics- 3/10 Technical- 6/10 Not your best piece, I feel.
23. I fail to understand the fascination people have with stereotypes. They are generally misleading and lead you to have a misplaced idea of people you have never even met. How bad is that? People always think that someone different from them is somehow bad, or something. It is rubbish. Geeks can be nice people, cool kids can be nice, Goths can be nice. I hate stereotypes, they are foolish and wrong. If people would learn to look past their noses, then they'd might discover something... People matter, not what they look like. Personality is more important than appearances. Get over yourselves. I know that we sub-consciously organise people by some internal standards. Try to overcome the initial perceptions, and get to know the person. As you have probably realised, I feel strongly about this.
24. What can we say? What do you want us to say? You sound like you're more interested in attracting guys than how you feel. Would you be able to stand the looks from your friends/classmates/whatever? Imagine what they'll be thinking, imagine the leering looks from the guys, and the snotty looks from the girls. Imagine your friends, your family getting embarassed. I mean, one day your A, the next time they see you... Full-C. How would they feel about that? How would you feel under their stares and comments? Now, balance all that against your wish for bigger boobs. If you find it worth it, then do it. If not, back out now. Myself.... a girl with a well proportioned figure is good, yes it is appealing. But I don't know how I would feel if she got her breasts "enhanced". Probably more grossed out than anything else. Might I just recommend you check it out and research it all first.
25. Shinji- deal with it... the Wallabies whooped the All-Blacks butts, because you didn't have your **** together on Saturday. But damn, the through the legs pass by Spencer in the previous games was friggin legendary. Good stuff. I was convinced the Wallabies were dead, but we pulled through. I watched the Wallabies bash the All-Blacks and then English beat the French. Both awesome games. If the Wallabies can perform as well as they did against NZ when they verse the English... we've won. From the performance of the English team last night, I think the Wallabies may have it. It all comes down to the weather- if it is a dry night, the wallabies will have it, I'm convinced. However, if it is a wet night... It is anyones game. Hopefully our guys who were injured against NZ last Saturday will be all fit for this weekend. Apparently the Wallaby who was carted off last night is OK- he has movement in his hand. Why are you guys all bad sports, going for the Poms for the mere fact that you lost to the Wallabies. Bah, pathetic. The World Cup is awesome, Rugby is the best ever sport, and the Wallabies have a 70% chance of winning I think.
