Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Really, aside from the complete reason Fei Wong wants to shatter the universe to pieces, my only question is how do those memories (remember, that's what the feathers represent: memories in corporeal form) emit such strong magical power?
Drawing from my crazy bag of existentialist beliefs that seem to work in this context, said memories are powerful on their own because of their source. Sakura's influence may have a good part in it, but it's what the memories themselves contain that may be lending them extra strength. You also have to notice that all the memories that we've seen so far also have Syaoran in them in some form (though he is obviously cut out because of the deal that was made with Yuuko). Since Syaoran is the person that Sakura cares most about in the world, that may also be contributing to the power level. (Behold the power of love, people.) As far as The One Feather....to RULE THEM ALL, that may tie back to Sakura herself. That was the point in the journey where Sakura hitched up her imperial bootstraps and said "Y'all don't know 'bout my iron will." Therefore, in addition to it lying in wait for such a long time, it's also drawing off Sakura's newfound mental strength. Just a theory, but eh. In regards to this chapter, all I can say is "OH, SNAP." Which I think is quite fitting, really (even if we didn't learn anything new). Also, I want one of the bunny things in on the final splash page of dimensional wonder. -
*after much forgetfulness...* Hey there. Kei here. ^^ Not often that I come in here, but I wanted to get the word out about a new project that I've been working on for a little bit. The basic gist of things is that I'm looking to create a news site that's tuned into our generation. A lot of young people don't read the newspaper for various reasons, but they easily tune into things like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on a nightly basis. Why? Because they present things in a fashion that's actually interesting to us (comedy tends to do that). So that's what I want to try and do: provide a readable version of the news that will actually get people interested in reading it. In terms of the site itself, it would be independent of both theO and OtakuBoards. I just wanted to include the people here because I know there are a lot of writers and journalists milling about, so why not start here? As far as content, anything that's part of a regular newspaper/news site is fair game. If you want to do opinion, that's cool. If sports is your deal, go for it. It's writing the news you care about your way in a style that's appealing to the masses. As of right now, I'm looking around to try to find a good spot to put the site and a few willing bodies to help with design and layout stuff (since I lack Dreamweaver and the ability to use Dreamweaver). But for those that are interested, by all means, ask questions here or shoot me a PM. Thanks for reading. ~Kei

I literally couldn't stop saying "WHAT?!" for two minutes after reading this chapter. I bow to the might of CLAMP's story-telling ability. I really, really do. What's going on is complete and utter madness, but it's so well-controlled, it's almost unbelievable (which I'm sure CLAMP was going for). But this makes me wonder if other characters (if they were ever there at all) will start coming back for the final battle. I would flip if Kamui and Subaru popped back in. -
Welcome to OB, Faytonza. Just keep in mind in the future that if you want to add something to your post, you don't have to make a second one; just hit the Edit button down at the bottom of the one you already made and add to it. It's really easy. ^^

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
I'm sorry to say it, but I'm actually a little sad Fai got his magic back. Vampire Fai was pretty badass (though we only got to see a little of his battle prowess as such). But part of me is happy that he did get it back. And the half that grows stronger with use, too. So he should be back up to speed pretty quick-like. >>; As far as the turn of events goes, I should have seen it coming, too, but I didn't. Because that's what CLAMP excels at. I was wondering where the good doctor had been hiding this whole time, but now that he's dead, I'm somewhat at ease. But we can only wonder what's going to happen next since everyone's about to wander into Fei Wong's playground. -
Right, guys, I know this is a bit arbitrary and picayune, but.... ....it's Fei WONG. WONG. Not "wang". That's a bad thing to talk about, at least where I grew up. >_>
It's okay, Al. Simmer. Settle. Breathe. Honest mistake, seriously. And taking into account the general craziness that is the Pinyin translation system into Romanji, just be glad it hasn't gone farther than that. ^_~ -
Yeah, it's good that Naruto is pulling out the new jutsu (did anyone else have a flashback to the Genki Dama on the Double/Giant Rasengan panels?), but at the same time, actually having real confirmation that Kakashi is gone is one of the saddest things I've read since I started Naruto all those years ago. Unless Naruto has suddenly acquired Jesus no jutsu and brings him back with natural chakra. >.>;

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Even more exciting than what happened in this chapter, I think, is the fact that for the first time, really, we can all say "called it" on something CLAMP did. I mean, seriously. Think about it. But anyway, this really is one exciting turn of events. We're finally seeing Fei Wang get his comeuppance and I'm waiting eagerly for every OMGWTF-filled moment of it. The only thing that really concerns me about this is what may possibly happen to Syaoran and Sakura. I mean, that's a serious blow he took from Fei Wang in the end and if he dies... Well, I mean, yes, it would be sad, but would it have any other implications we don't know about? As far as Sakura goes...well, it's Sakura. Something just can't not happen to her. >.>; -
It's not out yet, but spoilers are. I haven't seen a full script, though.
Do believe he means 430, which is out right now. Yay, holidays for throwing everyone off. But yeah, 430 was...WTF-inducing, so it's following the standard right now. *shakes head*

OMG, jiggly, that's amazing. Thank you so much. :3 (And thank you, too, Failsauce. It's a very good one. ^^) I'll shoot you a PM later, if you don't mind. :3

Hey there. ^^ I have come to greatly love Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and I was wondering if someone could do me the favor or making me a Viral banner for here at the boards and a header that I could possibly place on my blog over at theO. As far as the banner goes, just having his name on it and "ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWA" in the bottom right-hand corner would work (if the text is a little sktechy-grunge-like, that would be amazing. It was used a lot in the show and I'm very fond of it.). In terms of the header, if it could have "Surpass the impossible and kick reason to the curb." in the same font type you use for the banner, that would be ideal. I've attached a few pictures that you can use, but if you find some other ones, please feel free to use those as well or instead. Example of sketch-style typography used in Gurren Lagann. First picture of Viral. (Don't mind Enkidudu over on the left, heh.) Second picture of Viral. (Again, don't mind Darry over on the left.) Thanks in advance! ^^
Actually I wouldn't mind seeing Kabuto make a reappearance in the near future, as villains went he was certainly interesting and dare I say it original. His skills would certainly be of use to Konoha now in dealing with another necromancer...
I would actually love for Kabuto to make a reappearance. He's been one of my favorite characters since he first showed up way back in the Chuunin Exams. He's been the one character that's actually stayed fairly constant through the entire series, when you think about it. Back in the day, he was smart enough to fool the entirety of the Genin population, not to mention the Jounin overseers back when everyone was actually competent. He also had POWER LEVEL OVER 9000!!! when it came to actual combat and despite all the Time Skip shenanigans, he seems to have retained that level of superiority and even become more of a threat, it seems, with his gattai of insanity and death with Orochimaru. When it comes down to it, he's definitely a contender for Best Villain of the Series. So he needs to come back. Nao. >.>;
-
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised is Kabutorochimaru came out of nowhere and said "Hay guise, it was me the WHOLE TIEM! :D" considering the fact that once again, we're going back to that old super-villian classic motivation, "I wanna live forever." Also, necromancy was Orochimaru's specialization back when he was actually Public Enemy #1, so taking into account the current plot (or lack thereof), there's just as much logic in that outcome as anything else happening. --; As far as Kakashi goes, I would love for him not to be dead. He's one of my favorite characters even beyond the fact that he was the Ninja Idol back before the Timeskip of WTF-ery into the Era of Emo and LOLHAX. But it's increasingly likely that the man really is gone and there's no bringing him back unless whoever the real Pein is goes along with what the fans are expecting and reanimates him as a new Pein, thereby casting Auto-Angst on Naruto and making another overly-complicated battle pretense for the future. *sigh* ...WHY DO I KEEP READING THIS. --;
That is of course until Madara reveals he's actually all of the Elders at the same time thereby mind-****ing Sasuke yet again for the lols.
...At this point, I don't know what to expect. And not in the good CLAMP way. In the bad "WTF are you doing writing?" way.
*Prays for Drill Rasengan*
No GIGA DRILL BREAKAAAAA!! for him. His awesome level isn't high enough. Not even Kamina can save Kishi now.

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Heh, that was my thoughts exactly. I was thinking... don't do the stagnant bit and then Fai stepped in and that was, as you put it, awesome. I'm not surprised that Fei Wong is too much of a coward to face them directly though. Oh and I did find it amusing that Kurogane was skipping announcing what his moves were. It was almost like he was saying to Fai, you should be able to recognize it without me saying what it is dummy. lol
Either that, or it's just that it's really go time now and he has no time for such typical shounen series shenanigans. And Tsubasa is by no means typical. Anyway, I am also not surprised by Fei Wong not stepping out to party with the boys. He's probably pretty handy with a sword, but he also obviously displays the "Why should I do what fodder can accomplish?" attitude. Though I am loving Fai's kickassery levels right now. I've always thought he was the subtle BAMF-type, but the outright BAMF style works for him, too. Especially wearing looks like those while he's doing it. Mm. *ahem* The action will probably be shifting to Syaoran vs. "Syaoran" here shortly, though, so, yay, Fuuka Shourai and whatnot. Though I'm sensing more exposition and Sakura/Cherry B. interference in the long run. -
EDIT: By the way, I've decided that Sasuke should be killed. Because it would be cool.
Oh, my. How violent we've become. ;p In any case, I'm also at odds (and have been for quite some time) as far as pacing with Kishi. There has been more stalling and the same old excuse for said stalling in the past 10 chapters than actual meaningful plot development and it's getting tiresome. Kishi is also starting to kill off characters seemingly at random. I mean, was there really a point to Chouji's father dying? He hardly ever showed up before. I realize there's the "Will of Fire" and all, but really. If the character bears no significance, how are we actually supposed to care? As far as Kakashi's "death", there's really no reason to kill him, either. Kishi has nerfed Kakashi beyond compare since the time jump. Kakashi, being the genius copy ninja, should be able to more than hold his own against the assault, but he was easily beaten by Pein. Whether or not this was supposed to be a show of Pein's strength or not, Kakashi has been time and again proven to be the clutch point where someone turns in the end. He's the one that really brought Sasuke and Naruto together and actually made them care enough about each other where this whole slew of shenanigans actually has a point. For him to be "killed" the way he has... I only just realized it, but it pisses me off. >.>; All in all, I think Kishi has run himself slam into a wall and just kept banging his head. He's created a pit that's getting deeper each week and unless he starts making some sense out of everything, there's no rescue rope forthcoming.

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
You forget, Indi-Cat. This is Tsubasa. It is made of exposition and WTF. But anyway, I am also not happy with the lack of plot motion. Though, considering the fact that this is a very rare occurence with CLAMP (unlike certain other manga-ka who shall not be named), I'm willing to forgive them. Judging from Kurogane's (standard) lack of patience with the situation, it seems like all systems are go for epic battling in the next chapter. At least, I hope so. We really don't need Fei Wong calling "Timesies" any more than he already has. -
Agreed, Ace. If you want to talk about Bleach and the events therein, there are plenty of threads that already exist in which to do so. You can go ahead and post there. :) That being said, I'm going to go ahead and close this down, but feel free to continue the celebration elsewhere.

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
If what you are talking about with memories creating a soul is correct Kei, would that potentially mean there is now a duplicate of her soul? If so, that would leave us with the original soul that is still stuck in time and the duplicate that was created via memories/interactions.
Thinking about it fully now, as I only said that as a random thought, that may actually be the case. Once Cherry B.'s memory feathers were scattered way back at the beginning, she was completely KO'd. Even Yuuko, I believe, said she would die if she didn't get at least one of them back soon. And since there is a long standing belief that a body can't live without a soul, there's actually a high possibility that Fei Wong somehow created a starter soul of sorts for the clone and let all her experiences reinforce it from that point once he sent it out into Clow Country proper. This, though, is pure conjecture, and CLAMP thrives on completely shattering that, so... :/ lol -
Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, I'm aware of Wong's machinations to get at Kurogane, but if I recall correctly Yuuko intervened and placed Tomoyo in his path, which essentially kept him free of becoming a puppet. But even apart from that, the only real way in which Kurogane was affected was an insane rage. Yuui believed that his brother's death was his fault (and possibly that Ashura's actions were his fault as well, dunno), and "Syaoran" believed that the entire chain of events was his fault for winding back time. Kuro-tan knew someone else was to blame; so far as I'd seen he hadn't been holding himself responsible for anything.
Point conceded.
Yes, but then remember when clone Sakura's soul was stabbed (should we start calling her Cherry to distinguish? :p), she turned back to "Syaoran" and told him the real Sakura was waiting for him. So now we have an apparent paradox, as well as having only one body left, no souls to speak of, and a fistful of [strike]dollars[/strike] [strike]feathers[/strike] memories.
Then again, paradoxes are nothing new with CLAMP, lol. But yes, I understand your point. At this junction, there's really no way to tell where the real Sakura is or how she'll regain her lost soul. If she does manage to somehow come back from whatever part of the time-space continuum she's been stashed without a soul, then we're pretty much back to Square One with her (I'm going off the logic that I was presented with a while ago that memories and interactions with the people you meet create your soul). :/ (Also, I am not opposed to calling her Cherry B. lol)
And he would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and that dumb white pork bun!
Like, jinkies! -
I'm sure the truth will out as F-dub attempts the revival OR as he lays dying (har har)....
*shoots you* There, now that that's taken care of...
I'm also intrigued by the character development so far. Seems like the only one who hasn't yet fallen into the guilt-by-causality trap, for which Fei Wong seems to be notorious, has been Youou.
No, Kuro-puu only got suckered in because of the fact that F-Dub (I find that name highly amusing) essentially killed both his parents (his mother through actual stabbing and his father as a consequence of that). And, as we saw, that really didn't go over well (though I have no idea how it would). Yay, taking out almost entire ninja squads. As far as the clones go, I also think that it won't necessarily end up being a fairy tale ending for them. From what I remember of the past chapters, though, Fei Wong said that the original Sakura's body "fell apart and disappeared" when he created her clone. If that's the case, the gang may be a little screwed as the only thing left is Clone Sakura's body. Unless there's a way to revive a soul... :/ (Oh, snap! Could it be that the gang would actually have to rely on Fei Wong's wish to get Sakura back?! :O) -

Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Yes, Sabrina, it's safe to say that Syaoran came to be after "Syaoran" went with Fei Wong due to the fact that "Syaoran" didn't want to go along with Fei's plans. So, just to say it thrice and make it official, Fei Wong is a bastard. Now let's all play "Who Does Fei Wong Want to Revive?"! First prize is a toffee and a shiny new penny. :P -

Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
.... This seal will activate on the princess's seventh birthday...
Actually, like I mentioned the other day, Al, the Seal of Death activates on Sakura's 17th birthday, not seventh. Hence where the whole 10-year-rewind comes into play. (And I'm loving how you're bringing chat memes to OB. It's wonderful.) As far as making this a combination xXxHolic/Tsubasa thread, that would be a bit too confusing, even though the plot lines are essentially two sides of the same coin. It would just make for lots of reference headers and messiness and blah, so I'm gonna say leave them separate for now. -
Hello, Kaimaster. Welcome to OtakuBoards. :) As of right now, I don't think it's very clear what you're trying to ask for here. I see at the end that you're apparently wanting "new characters", but no one knows what for or what exactly you're attempting to do. Your formatting isn't necessarily helping, as everything looks really jumbled and confusing. If you could give us a little more detail on what you're looking for and want help with, I think we might be able to lend a hand. Thanks.
wait! Does Kakashi die!? I hope he doesnt. My bff told me that he does die. I love Kakashi, hes my fave.:catgirl::animecry:
As of right now, Kakashi is not dead, but he did just take a huge gut-check from Pein. Anyhow, it seems like everyone's finally going to get into the game with the battle against Pein. Maybe we'll finally have to shining moments from the other teams at long last. (Though, was it just me, or did you see a noticable lack of Neji in there? He might be on a mission, but it seems wrong for him to miss out on the action.) Also, yes, Gavin, Laser Brain for the lulz and loss.
