1. Orange Range is one of my more favorite Japanese groups, mainly because a lot of their songs are so fun to listen to. Admittedly, I first listened to their work via Naruto's third ending (Viva Rock- Japanese Side) and BLEACH's first opening theme (Asterisk from the album of the same title), but since then, I have listened to a lot more of their stuff and it's easy on the ears for me. A lot of it gets me excited and wanting to do stuff, so it's great to get me in the mood for homework, heh. There are a couple of songs where they have a few too many voices going at once, but can still manage to pull off a good track nine times out of ten.
2. It depends on what you're trying to do here. Using different types of lettering for different characters can give your reader a feel for what the character would actually sound like, so you could try plying around with that type of thing (I wouldn't sugest going overboard, though, as it can annoy if used too much). I would suggest starting out with the font "DigitalStrip" and going from there. You can download it at many free fonts sites.
3. To be very blunt, if it's not manga, then it doesn't need to be here. This would be better suitd for the Art forum, methinks. *nods*
4. To do shading with coloured inks, you simply have to choose a darker color than your base and color over it. Of course, doing this without mistakes takes lots of practice, which is why many people make several copies of one image before doing any kind of colouring.
5. For the above mentioned reason of there being a thread of this variety that's a sticky, I will indeed be closing this down. Also, please be aware that double-posting is not allowed on OtakuBoards. ^^ Thread Closed
6. As far as the Artist Recruiting Thread goes, I suppose it could go both ways, in that artists seeking writers can also request help there while also being open to writers seeking artists. If you have any more questions or concerns about the forum, don't be afraid to PM me.
7. A few things wrong here. 1) Double-posting is not allowed on OtakuBoards at all. Please remember this as you post in the future. 2) We encourage proper grammar and punctuation, as well as posts consisting of more than "Cool pic!" or what have you. Please also keep this in mind as you post, thanks. ^^
8. Traditionally coloured pictures are usually done with Copic markers, coloured pencils or watercolor paints/pencils. Copic markers can be found at any art store or online, though I do believe they cost about $3.95 USD per marker.
9. While it is nice that you would want to post job offerings here (if this is legitimate,) threads advertising as such are not allowed on OtakuBoards. ^^ That being said, thread closed

All right, more than a few things wrong here. First off, double posting isn't allowed here at OtakuBoards. Please keep this in mind in the future. Secondly, from what I'm gathering, this isn't about manga at all, but more about her for developing a character that you've created. I don't know if you mean in terms of design, which would be more a topic reserved for the Art & Design forum, or you're creating a story about this character, which, unless you plan on doing a manga for it, would be reserved for OB Anthology. So, that being said, I'm going to close this down. Please refer to the threads I mentioned if that fits anything that you were planning on doing. If you still need help, don't be afraid to give myself or one of the other Moderators a shout through the PM system. ^^ -Lady Katana
11. Seeing as IGN is one of the more looked-to sites around, you would expect a bit better writing from them, whether this was supposed to be an opinion article or not (and I'm speaking as someone who had had proper journalism training). While it is true that they're supposed to be a more gaming-based site, if they're going to do articles like this, they really need to get their act together. Yes, he/she is entitled to their opinion about the whole fan-subbers vs. license holder debate thing, it most certainly could have been put in a far better way than to resort to name-calling and all that other nonsense I read. Journalists, whether they be writing for a website or the New York Times, are not supposed to show any bias when writing an article whatsoever, no matter how strongly they may actually feel on the issue. As r2vq said, the integrity of this article is close to zero. The big deal, Hittokiri, is that the person who wrote this article seemed to butcher the basics of journalism. While it is true that there are possibly several articles like this on the internet, it shouldn't be on a website as prominent as IGN.
12. Lore's right. You should talk to your counsellor first about looking into financial aid options. They're quite helpful. I'm assuming you're living in the United States with this one,but probably the first thing that they're going to have you do is fill out a FAFSA application. ( The FAFSA website ) FAFSAs are what let you actually receive federal financial aid such as PELL grants and other things. Seeing as they are now only accepted electronically, you'll also have to get a PIN from the US Dept. of Education at the PIN website. Don't worry, as all this is also explained at the FAFSA website and links are given there as well. Good luck with everything. ^^
13. I frequently look to Wikipedia for info on things and actually had to use it in place of a textbook for at least part of this past semester for reasons that shall be left unsaid. Needless to say, I've always thought of Wiki's entries as something to be mostly trusted, but I always kept a hint of doubt about it, which is something that has to be done with all information of the Internet, really. There are too many people out there who put up their own variations of actual information, be it for a joke or because they actually believe their account to be true. Looking at information through wary eyes is damn important when it comes to the Internet. It seems a lot of people are forgetting that.
14. Due to the fact that I haven't really played all that many games over the course of my life, this may seem both a bit abbreviated and weird, but meh. :p Bowser - Super Mario World In the millions of times I've beaten SMW, I've always hated/loved going up against Bowser in the end. Why? Because of how you had to hit him. I always found it challenging to throw those wind-up Koopas at him just right, because he was always moving and if you didn't get it just right, you were screwed. And you also had to keep in mind that those things came back to life. --; Don't even get me started on the third stage of the fight, either. But for all that hatred, that made me like the fight even more in the end. At least it keeps you entertained, lol. Shadow Link - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Yes, like many of the Zelda fans out there, I loved the fight with Shadow Link in the Water Temple. It was just awesome to fight someone who had almost the exact same moves as you. Of course, if you had the Biggeron's Sword and Din's Fire, he was very quickly handled, but I always fought him with the Master Sword for a longer, more-enjoyable fight, even though it resulted in me being parried and hit more times than I can count, heh. Darth Plucky - Buster Busts Loose While I doubt that many people even remember this game, it still holds a small place in my heart due to the sheer insanity that was Darth Plucky. Just getting to him was enough to make you want to scream in fury, but then fighting him and trying to avoid that rapid-fire cannon... >
15. We're merely biding our time, Des. Merely biding our time... :p Anywho, on the topic at hand (and speaking as a low-level fangirl,) fanpeople aren't weird or scary until the reach a certain level. Those that have been described thus far as the "wilder" ones are basically what give fanpeople such a bad reputation. There's nothing wrong with liking a character/pairing/whathaveyou, it's just taking it to an extreme level that's the problem, heh.
16. "Hn. Obviously not a thinker," Artemis thought to herself as she shot her partner a sideways glance. Beginning to rub her temples lightly, she started fingering the PokeBalls at her belt, debating whether to bring out Houndoom to formulate a plan to immediately "become seperated" from Van upon arrival. Thinking about what Giovanni would do if such a thing were to happen, she immediately disregarded any previous thoughts she had. Sighing audibly, Artemis looked up to make sure it was safe to get up from her seat. Seeing that the belt light was off, she rose and began pacing the aisles, one of her few tell-tale signs of slight worry and deep thought. Unfortunately, it didn't go unnoticed by Van. "What're you pacing for?" "I'm thinking." "Coming up with a plan?" "Of course. Since it doesn't seem lke you will." "What's the matter? Not confident in your abilities?" A coy smile played across Van's face. Artemis stopped dead, shooting an icy glare over her shoulder. "I like to cover all my bases. It would behoove you to do the same, since I won't be saving you if you manage to get yourself into something you can't handle." "Hey, we're a team, you know." "Teamwork is for the weak." "So you're supposed to be strong? Then why'd the Boss team you up with me, eh?" Narrowing her eyes slightly, Artemis had no way to counter his words. Though she had only said what she did to make Van let her be, she now couldn't help but wonder what the real reason was behind Giovanni sending the both of them out. If an artifact was the only thing that they needed to find, one of the more elite members would have sufficed. Although, wit all the recent happenings, it's not doubt that some of them were out taking advantage of the mass panic worldwide for Team Rocket's gain. Still, one had to wonder... "Well?" Van said, turned around his seat to face the steely-eyed woman. "...Hn." Artemis continued on her way down the aisle, finally turning into the restroom, the one place she knew she could get some privacy. She heard some mumbling after she had shut the door, but didn't bother to make something of it, as the last thing they needed at the moment was a Pokemon battle 10,000 feet in the air that resulted in them being 10,000 feet below sea level. "This is going to be a long mission..."
17. The general rule of thumb about outside links is that as long as it pertains to the subject at hand and it's not blatant advertising, it's all right. So, in short, yes, you can post a link if you find it. Thanks for asking, heh.

Quick Question

The only place where advertising on OtakuBoards is allowed is in one's signature. You can have text or an image (which has to meet our 500x100 or below size standard) say whatever you want, but if you use a banner, make sure it follows our rules regarding language and such, since our censor can't catch it. Advertising threads in any forum are not allowed and may lead to a ban warning or a ban itself. Hope that helps you. ^^
19. Only members who have attained "Senior Artist" status will have their wallpapers automatically approved once submitted. If you're new to the system, then you're still a normal artist and you'll have to wait 24-48 hours to have your wallpaper approved by the Moderators. If you are a Senior Artist, the problem may be attributed to a server lag. Justin's supposed to have knocked out the kinks already, but I don't know. And by the way, you shouldn't make a new thread of the same thing only moments after you made the first one. It may take a little time for people to notice it, since this forum has been seeing a bit more activity lately. ^^;
20. Whoa, whoa. Time out. This sort of thing isn't allowed for a reason. It does nothing but create useless posts that really don't help anyone. If you want to talk to each other, please use AIM or the Private Messaging system, thanks. Thread Closed
21.
Maybe I should've made the text a bit bigger or a different color on that part, but if they didn't read it right, that's not my fault.
All that would have done was make you look childish. As was said somewhere else, when you post something, someone will always post their opinion, whether or not it meets your personal expectations of acceptableness or not. Even if they would have sent you their opinions through PM, I seriously doubt that the result would have been any different, as you seem very strong-willed about your beliefs. Anywho, on the subject at hand, as people have been saying, it may stem from the fact they want entertainement, but there are those that "pick fights" because they want to prove their point; they have beliefs and they want to make sure that everyone knows them. If they don't agree after that, they're just an idiot (which is what most flamefests boil down to, though some of our most famous ones did put it more eloquently.)
22. Whoa, hold your horses, there, the both of you. We're all for disagreeing with each other and civilized debates, but blatant insults and flaming are no-nos. You, Boo, have been around long enough to have that blazed into your memory. renayiiq, I would suggest you keep that in mind as you continue to post here. Since you're seeking advice on how to get the club abolished (though I don't really agree with your logic,) I would suggest going to the principal or the student council to try and put in a motion to have the club abolished. You'd have to provide adquate reason for such a thing, however.
23. Hn.... While this would be a rather interesting competition in my opinion, I don't think that this would be the proper forum for it, being that this is an art-based competition. That being said, it might be better off in the Art forum. I'm not saying this to be mean, trust me. But like I said, being that what you have in mind is largely art-based, it would go there. MW is largely for the purpose of helping develop ideas with other members and talking about existing manga series. ^^; I'll just go ahead and move this now, heh.
24. There are a couple of things wrong with this post: 1) The proper place for this would be Anime Lounge, as this is a discussion for manga (or comics,) not anime. 2) There is already a Naruto topic in the Anime Lounge. You can find it here. 3) Here at OtakuBoards, we ask that members use proper grammar and punctuation while posting to make sure that everything is understandable and easy to read. Please keep this in mind as you post in the future. Al that being said, I'm going to go ahead and close this down. Just try to keep these things in mind for me, 'kay? ^^ Thread Closed
25. I've had a lot of stereotypical sideswipes in the past, both academically and outside the classroom. I went to nearly all-black schools growing up, but I was always the quiet one and usually made decent grades (I was by no means the smartest individual in my class, though). Despite the fact that I still got bad grades like everyone else at times, everyone treated me with spite because they knew I was smart and thought I always got good grades no matter what. It didn't matter that I didn't lord it over them or anything like that; the fact that I had some intelligence was enough to make them treat me with jealousy and anger. My more feather-ruffling moments happen when I'm out walking or something, and people either stare at me funny, avoid me all together or treat me like some easy floozy. A lot of people confuse me for being Hispanic only because of my skin color (I happen to be milatto). Other people realize I have at least some African-American in me and treat me like some common thief, going out of their way to avoid me. Even other black people approach me and ask me out of the way things just because they think I'm like most of the girls around where I live (I hope most of you are catching my meaning here). It's all very aggrivating, but it's something that has to be dealt with, at least to a certain degree. People will shun or ridicule anything they consider different than themselves, be it a difference of intelligence, race, faith or whatever else you can think of. It's really sad when you think about it.
