Help Me!

First of all, welcome to the boards. Second, try to improve your posting habits a bit. Proper grammar and everything is something we like to see here, so keep that in mind. Third, seeing as how we have no idea what your story is about, we have no idea as to how to help you with your problem. Try posting your art/concept/story so far, and then try asking.
2. Right... The both of you need to put a bit more effort into posting in the future. Grammar and punctuation is a big part of staying around OB for a while. Keep that in mind, won't you? Anywho, Keenspace does require that you give your information and that you have an FTP client to upload them. It's also true that bandwidth can get used up pretty quickly on Tripod and the like with free webspace. So your best bet is to try to find some reasonably priced webspace and go from there. Adam (the founder of the boards) runs a web hosting service called Velegant that's very good. You could give that a whirl.

3051: A manga

I think it would be best to take everyone else's advice and actually post a plot. The only thing you have up now are very weak character descriptions. I would suggest that you try to flesh things out some more.
4. Hi there. Welcome to OtakuBoards. You can talk about Eerie Queerie! in this thread. In the future, please try to loo for threads that may already relate to or be about what you want to discuss. ^^ Thread Closed.
5. Hm... I agree with Altron about the Kakashi image. The pictures stand out way too much with that type of background. Also, I think it would be better if you only chose one of the two. Though they're both good pictures, they don't really work all that well together. As for your font, it does look like a Naruto font (and probably it), and though orange normally compliments blue quite well, it's use here just makes it look very odd. You may want to try fading it or using a darker color. ----------------- The Neji image has a very nice background with the image faded into it. That was a really nice touch. However, the foreground picture is very bright and doesn't seem to mesh well with the background in my opinion. I think a different picture with the same type of pose would work better. With the font, you've used naturally complimentary colors again, but it just looks out of place and somewhat...icky, for lack of better term. A black or gray drop shadow may work better. ----------------- The Itachi image is the best out of the lot. You got a nice image of him. ^^ I also like the slight after image you gave it, but I agree with Altron in that you should add a few more to give it the impression of speed. The font choice and colors are very nice, but I think they might look better if you placed them vertically instead of horizontally, especially since it's a bit hard to see the "Uchiha" when it's over Itachi's hand and the black is bleeding through because of the fade. They're still all very nice, though. Nice job and keep it up. ^^
6. Well, there are certainly many people here on OB that I would love to meet, so here goes: Solo Tremaine- Honestly, who wouldn't want to meet the author of Enter the Net? Plus, he's such a great guy and so friendly. *hugs Mini-Solo plushie* Mimminx- A really great friend and person. Though it did take me forever to even IM her to begin with... Legacy- A very close friend and someone I could most definately hang around with...and smack around in Soul Caliber II. Alex- I still have to get him back for a few things. May plan a trip to New Jersey in the summer to do so. JJRiddler- Ah, my dear Akamaru... It would indeed be nice to go back to Germany, so I might as well see my favorite puppy while I'm there, ne? James- I still haven't forgotten about the beach party, lol. But I mainly want to go to thank him for a lot of things. Plus, I'd get to see a koala and then be viciously attacked by it. Adam- Well, if it weren't for him, none of us would be here, so I think he deserves a visit from a grateful Otakuite. There'll be some more people added soon, but my brain is tired at the moment, so I'm no more good. :p
7. I will say this one time, and one time only. In order for this thread to stay open, people will have to actually stick to the thread title, meaning give reasons for the reason you read/like the manga. Just posting lists is not going to cut it, okay? Remember, this is the first and only warning.
8. Let's see... 1) Starting Plushies as a ongoing comic on my myO. 2) People actually liking Plushies as an ongoing comic on my myO. 3) Solo posting new chapters of Enter the Net. 3) Shin starting "Shinmaru vs. the World" in his myO. (A rival for The Daily Otaku in hilarity, that is) 4) I finally started talking to Mimminx. ^^ 5) Those ever crazy OB AIM chats. (I'm still holding Jeh to that beach party.) There'll probably be some more that I can think of in the near future, but for right now, I'll stick with those.
9. Welcome to OtakuBoards. We're glad you decided to join us. ^^ I think you may want to give the Rules of in the left hand navigation panel a read over, as your post falls under spam categories, which is why it's going to be closed. When posting a thread like this, and I'm not trying to be rude here, but most people aren't psychic. Unless you tell us what type of reading you generally like, there's no way we can really suggest something that's going to hold your interest. I'm willing to allow you to try again, provided you put some more detail into your nextthread, but this one will have to be closed down.
10. Well, I was bored the other night, so I decided to give this a shot. I don't know if this is what you were going for, but you can do with this as you please. I'll make an avatar to go with it, if you like it.
11. Sara is very much correct. You really need to calm down about this. One of the purposes of this forum is to provide feedback on manga ideas, which you asked for and received. And just as Sara said, since it does contain certain aspects that are similar to those in Inu-Yasha, it's going to be compared to it. There's nothing that you can really do about that unless you change the storyline. But the main focus of this post is to tell you to simmer down a bit. These posts are merely opinions. You can take them and leave them as you please. They're most certainly nothing to get bent out of shape over, so please try to control your temper.
12. Yes, I suppose you could classify Eerie Queerie as romantic comedy shounen-ai. It is rather heavily laden with it, but it's all great.
The time when Mitsuo was taking care of Ichi when Hasunuma came over was hilarious.
It's really a nice series, something that someone new to shounen-ai might be able to break their gums on, so to speak. And you're right, there are four books in the series.
13. Miryoku, you really need to work on your posting quality if you wish to stay here for a while. That post is downright atrocious. If you post a thread starting out like that again here, I'll close it. Anyway, regarding your question, the only manga that I've read that actually is shounen-ai was Ghost! (aka Eerie Queerie), which I throughly enjoyed. Mitsuo and Hasunuma were pretty cute together and the parts where those two and Ichi were all together were hilarious. I sort of felt bad for him at the end, heh. (Ichi, I mean.) While Demon Diary isn't really shounen-ai (it just hints at it, except of the bonus story at the end), the hinting was enough for me to like it. (Though Chris and Raenef's intereactions before the 5th book are great, lol.) So yeah. Those two I really like, but there are a lot more that I want to read, including Legal Drug and Fake.
14. It's true that for the most part, Pokemon has simply been one of Nintendo/4Kids/Whatever animation studio they fall under's moneymaker, but I also look at it in the perspective of being one of the "morality" animes out there. It basically falls under the "As long as you have friends, you can do anything" category, along with it's good friends Yu-Gi-Oh! and Beyblade. That's why the characters stay so static. If they were to change something about them, the entire series' meaning may fall apart. I mean, as cool as it would be for Ash to gradually side with Team Rocket/Aqua/Magma/Whatever and destroy half the world, it's not going to happen, because if it did, they'd have to go and rebuild the series. Either that, or all of his friends would fly off and come up with some miraculous plan to get him back. (You know that's what would happen. >.>; They even proved it in that episode Pikachu went bad. And don't even get me started on Mewtwo Strikes Back...) I think that's another reason that people have become attached to it, in a way. They just love the fact that whatever happens, everything will be okay in the end. So, yeah. While Pokemon is mainly just a moneymaker, it does try to instill a bit of morality in kids heads, however slightly off it may be. I'm probably wrong, but that's how I see it.
15.
Excerpt from the OtakuBoards Rules page ยท Incoherent/Sloppy Posts: At OtakuBoards, we greatly emphasize the concept of having clear, easy to read posts. This includes correct use of spelling, grammar and punctuation. If a member is posting with very poor quality, they will be asked to clean up their future posts. If the member persists in posting poorly, they will be banned from the site.
So, to answer your question, we've always had that rule in effect, it's just that some members choose to ignore it, and face the given consequences.
16. After reveiwing this thread, I've decided that if it's going to stay open, some definate effort is going to be required in future posts. Besides going into a bit more depth as to why you like the series, grammar and punctuation also need to be worked on. Any complaints you may have can be PMed to me. You've been warned.
17. Look, sug. If you're going to post stories, you need to put a bit more effort in it. Try using line breaks, as one big block of text is a little difficult on the eyes.
18. This thread is being closed, and I shall kindly explain why. Favorites threads have a notorious history of becoming nothing more that lists and one-liners, not promoting/presenting any sort of conversation and/or point. This thread is as much. The first two opening posts even begin that way.
19. You probably did a straight from Word to here conversion, which is why your paragraphs didn't get separated, but try to make sure they are in the future. Also, try not to type in all capital letters, as it's very rude.
20. Hm... Well, the premise is somewhat interesting, but in order for me to get a clear view, I think you should expand a little. Why was she going into space? What exactly is Yoko like? Is she famous for something other than being a rich housewife? How exactly do all these strange things happen? And if Shizumai is in the past, is she going to try to figure out how to get back to her own time? Also, if you plan to try and turn this into a manga, will it be shounen or shoujo-style? Who do you want it to appeal to? Some of those questions are more important than others, but I think you may want to answer them so that you can give the people a bit more to base their opinions on, as that's a little short.
21. I agree with Shin. You most definately caught that 50s feel with the image placement and scared Betty that is horrified, yet cannot look away. lol The only thing that could have possibly made it better was adding those little bold adjectives they used to have splish-splashed everywhere. That would have made it absolutely perfect. But this is still good, anyway. ^^
22.
I don't consider SD Gundam a 'true' Gundam series so I pretty much kicked that out of the picture.
That's exactly what I was saying. A parody is a form of literature/film/theatre that makes light of (or makes fun of) something that already exists (Monty Python was a master of such, as "Weird Al" Yankovic is a master of musical parody). Superior Defender Gundam was created to parody all of the Gundam series to date with it's childish plot and visualizations. Why I said that older Gundam fans (and most Gundam fans in general) might not like it is for that reason.

to many rules

We don't close threads simply because "you mis spell a word." It's when you misspell a string of words and put them together in a noncoherent "sentence" is when we have a problem. Several factors contribute to a thread closing, including members being extremely off-topic, horrible post quality by all parties involved, the topic not presenting any real merit, and the thread basically devolving into nothing more than a mere flame war. Quality is something were strive for here at OB. Sure, we know not everyone has a BA in English, but everyone here should have at least passed a 6th grade English class. Putting together a worthwhile topic in a rational format is not at all difficult, if you take the time to actually think it through. Though Internet shorthand may be quick, but it's some kind of annoying to sit and read through when you expect a certain type of reply to a topic. And if you have somewhere to go and you want to post a message, just wait until you come back. The thread will more than likely still be here. And if it's not, then it wasn't worth posting in to begin with. :p That's my standpoint on that particular topic, anyway. Edit- Another thing we frown on is double posting and flaming, as Adahn pointed out is in our Rules section, which I'm sure that you haven't read. Perhaps you'd like to fix that?

to many rules

Let me say this before this gets resoundingly closed. OtakuBoards is a family community, *in a sense that people of all ages come here, which translates to young people in their early teens and such. While that doesn't suggest that such members haven't been exposed to the stuff, we try hard to keep that stuff at a minimum in certain areas (with the exclusion of Adventure Square, but even that now has a rating system).* We work hard to create a place where people can come together and have an intelligent conversation that doesn't (very often) get interrupted with inane stupidity that runs rampant on so many other message boards on the Internet. And a lot of people appreciate that a hell of a lot. That's why we put up bad language filters and we don't allow all that other crap around here. Basically, we give a damn. Everything inside the asterisks is an inclusive edit.
25. 1) Double posting is not allowed on OtakuBoards. Please don't do it again in the future. 2) It is hard to tell when the manga will be come available, as there are many distribution companies that can catch hold of it, as is the case with anime. It's merely a wait-and-see game, unless a website somewhere has a potential release date.
