I have been lenient with this thread. So very, very lenient. That ends now. If I see any of the following from now on: A) Double-posting B) Not trying in the least to use proper spelling/grammar C) Going off-topic in any capacity I will not hesitate to close this thread with a resounding slam. You have all been warned.

Anime The Legend of the Four Kings, Does anyone know this anime?
Kei replied to Heero Darkangel's topic in Otaku Central
Why is this question in the manga area if you are asking about the anime?
A fine question, my friend. It appears this thread escaped my view for a while, but I shall fix it by moving it to the appropriate forum now. -
That...is actually not a bad concept, in my opinion. It's something that's somewhat orginal, and has a lot of potential, especially in the art category. Coming up with different fashions and designs might be a pain, though. I would say that if you could dish out a few good supporting characters and a good backstory for Kyosuke, this could definately turn into something good. One question, though. Would the art follow shonen or shoujo style? It can honestly go either way, but I'm just wondering.

List threads like this usually end up as nothing more than spam, and there is already a similar thread under the title "Which Manga/Manwha Are You Reading Now?". I kindly ask that you take your discussion there and put a little more depth into your posting. See my many warning posts in said thread. Thread Closed

Sept. 7, 8:40 AM Sneaking every so silently into her room, the lecherous old priest, Minaki, made his way toward Kat's sleeping form. He'd been trying to make his move all night, but was often thwarted when nearing success by her wild flailings and mutterings of ugly Puchuus being slaughtered. Even after suffering bumps, bruises, and several near-concussions, Minaki was not one to give up. He could also be stupid that way. As he slowly and silently kneeled down, saliva beginning to run from his nouth as he touched her night yukata, Kat's eyes suddenly flew open and she jumped up, knocking Mikani into a nearby wall with ease. "You stay back, plushie of evil!!!" she yelled panting. Upon realizing she'd woken up from her nightmare, she stared in the direction of the crater in the wall where Mikani was still stuck. "Oh, good morning, monk." Mikani managed a pained "unh" as a response before sliding down the wall and landing with a loud thud. "You seem well. Is pretty day for resting, yes?" Picking himself up off the floor, Minaki brushed himself off and lightly probed his magical bandage covered bump, glancing at Kat with longing in his eyes. "You're supposed to have school today, aren't you? It's the 7th." "Eh? Yesterday was 5th, not 6th. Silly monk." "...No. Yesterday was the 6th. You just slept through it. Check the calendar." Kat walked out of the room and down the hall, muttering in English the old man was going senile. Needless to say, her eyes nearly bugged out of her head when she saw that he was right. Running back at full throttle, Kat hastily began throwing off her night clothes and changing into her day ones, being careful to mind the various objects in the room. After grabbing her katanas and throwing on her shoes, she quickly jumped out the window and was off to school, leaving Mikani with his nose gushing blood like a waterfall. "Bliss. Utter bliss, if only for a second..." he said as he passed out from excitement.

I, along with everyone else who has replied to this, also have great interest in this concept. Although, as said many times before, it does seem to emulate Inu-Yasha in some aspects, with a little fine tuning, it may indeed turn out to be a somewhat great manga idea. Okita also has firm footing in believing that it could become a very nice video game after being worked on a little. I would definately put it in the back of my mind, at least. As for things that could help the story... If you want to keep the modern day dimension, perhaps you could have it as to the sword exists in the past. Miroshi's great, blah, blah grandfather was some sort of mage and put his spirit into the sword to help the hero that used it to defeat (enter great evil here) many years before. Someone else used the sword in Misenki's time, but it was broken somehow (forgive me for not going into detail, I'm making this up off the top of my head), destroying the grandfather's spirit. Miroshi and his grandfather's line of fate (remember, making this up) run together (as in, they are tied together, even though grandpa is long dead) and therefore, his spirit is shattered as well. You would still have to come up with a way Miroshi is able to come to the past (I'm thinking the guardian angel of the family uses his/her/it's powers to send him back or whatever). If you choose to go that path, Misenki would have to be an Inu-Yasha clone, in that he's intent on getting the Double Edge fragments for his own purposes and only drags Miroshi along for his ability to detect them of whatever. Just an idea, though. (And not saying it's a good one either.)

... Honestly, people. It is not that hard to at least try and put a decent amount of effort into your posting. This thread is complete spam. Only one or two posts in this entire thing are worth keeping. And I haven't even started on the other rule violations (i.e. double posting, Deimos). I may come off as being a [enter your choice of word here], but you lot don't even seem to be trying. We do have a set of standards here at OB, and it would be wise of you all to at least try to reach them if you want to stick around. I humbly refer you to the Rules and Regulations page located in the left hand navigation bar. Thread Closed

This will end. Now. The Art & Design forum was created to have your art critiqued and other things along that line; Manga Workshop is for people who would like to have manga and manga storylines critiqued. I advise both of you to remember that in the future. You are also put on notice that both of you need to drastically improve your posting quailty if you plan on sticking around for a while. I am by no means an expert, but I would think that you should focus your deck more on Dragon-type cards since you have Paladin of White Dragon in your deck. Truth be told, your deck's everywhere in terms of Type and Attributes. Plus, you have a Gradius' Option in your deck, which if memory serves, depends upon a Gradius that is on your side of the field to detemine it's Attack/Defense points, which I didn't see among your list of many. That being said, you may also want to trim it down, because that looks like a lot of cards for one not to have an apparent set theme. And if you wanted to use this deck for tournament play, Monster Reborn is limited to one. ^^; Anyways, here's a deck I've been working with for a while that I think needs a bit more help. Sept. 5, 8:45 PM Kat was still sitting under the tree at the school grounds, having passed out due to blood loss. The gray kitten that had suddenly appeared had just as suddenly disappeared, leaving poor Kat undefended against the elements, and the wandering lech. Of course, since Kat was passed out, she was unaware of this, but let's forget that for now and go into her dreams, shall we? *Kaye flew along in what seemed like an endless void. Strange patterns changed on the endless horizon, making her think she awso n the worst acid trip of her life, and she didn't even do drugs. The following is a Public Service Annoucement: Stay in school! Don't do drugs! A random movie actor said so! The preceeding was a Public Service Annoucement. Back to our regularly scheduled weirdness, already in progress. "--am I? What the heck is this place? Don't you hate it when one of those stupid emergency test signals come on during the part of the show you really want to see and you can't hear anything except that really annoying buzzing sound? And why is our school mascot floating by me right now? A small, yellow creature wearing a pink diaper and carrying a small futon beater went by, looking entirely too cute to be real. "Puchuu!" it said, as it waved happily. Kaye shuddered as she thought of the plushie version of that same creature was placed so cruelly in her gym locker last year. The image still haunted her to the day. "Honestly, why can't we have a nicer mascot, like a deranged dragon, or something? Yeesh. Anyways, back to where/what this place is. The last thing I remember was thinking about that party thingummy or whatever, the kitty was biting me, then I was here...." Kaye shut her eyes tightly, thinking hard about what could have possibly happened. Finally, with a decorative retangular burst of color around her head, she came up with the answer. "Some newbie spellcaster must have sent me here! I bet it was one of those creeps I beat up earlier! Well, they're not gonna get away with it. I'll find my way out and....um...beat 'em up again, yeah! Just you wait. I'll...." Kaye kept mumbling under her breath as she began trying to swim through the void, intent on finding her way out. She went a good eight hours before she realized it was a dream. *The dream sequence is totally in English, hence why Kat's way of speaking changes and why her real name is used.

Sept. 5, 3:30 PM Kat sat under the shade of a large weeping willow tree staring at the hot pink flyer she'd picked up from off the ground. "Party sound like could be much fun. Maybe I finally meet up with non-crazy people." Kat sat and thought about what she had just said and shook her head. "What I saying? Everyone here crazy. Is right, Random Kitten That Came From Nowhere?" The small gray kitten that actually had appeared from nowhere in particular nodded its head as it began pawing at the paper in Kat's hand. Kat smiled down at it as she began playing a rousing game of Keep Away with the obnixiously cute feline. "Kat no know how you understand English, but nothing around here make sense anyway, so I guess it okay. If I go to this, I guess I need costume. You can think of one, Random Kitten?" The kitten paused only for a second to think before shrugging and returning to his paper-shredding fun. Kat's eyes drooped suddenly, accompanied by a large sweatdrop on the side of her face. "For smart cat, you no lot of help." The kitten simply meowed as it finished clawing up the paper as high as it could go and began scratching Kat's hand quite happily. She didn't seem to notice, however, as she was focusing all her thoughts on what her costume should be. She could be stupid like that, sometimes.
uh....mangas...hmm..they have MORE DETAIL...u don't ALWAYS have to buy them in order to read =T....wut my friends and i do is just sit down at a store...uh for an example..Boarders...we sit down and start reading them lol..or go download some free mangas...(yes i'm cheap that way)...or like free online mangas lol...mangas...welll i like them cause of the drawings...hehe..but that's just me...yup i like mangas better than anime =P
Number one, work on your grammar. Single periods are just as much fun as elipses. Trust me on this one. Number two, your statement is both true and untrue. As has been said before, manga may fill in some gaps where the anime has holes, but there are some animes that have original stories that weren't featured in the anime (I believe Ranma 1/2 may be an example, but I could have it backwards). Number three, while camping may be a way to read what you want for free, you pretty much end up pissing off people who actually want to buy the manga or whatever in the process, but whatever floats your boat. *shrugs*

I'm looking forward to seeing The Incredibles whenever it comes out (around Thanksgiving? Correct me if I'm wrong.) Since it's a Disney/Pixar movie (and somewhat of Disney's last real hope for this year) I'm thinking it should be pretty good. From the trailer I saw, I won't be disappointed. Another movie I'm wanting to see is Shaun of the Dead, simply because it looks like the stupid-funny movies I tend to like a lot. They didn't say when it was going to be released here in the US (I don't think. Hell, it might be out already in some of the smaller theatres.), but it's already out in the UK. Apparently, this average Joe Schmoe Briton has to stop this massive horde of zombie (which have been created from the day-to-day grind) somehow with his idiot friend. Again, the trailer looks promising. The Polar Express seems like it may have a chance when it comes out around Christmas, but more than likely will be a swing and a miss picture, even with Tom Hanks playing a role. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (starring none other than Jim Carrey) looks somewhat promising, if only for Jim Carrey. That's probably the only reason I'm making plans to try and see it some Christmas. I've never actually read the books, so I'll be more than a little lost, but like I said, I'm only going for Carrey, so I probably won't care either way, lol. There are a few more, but I can't remember them off the top of my head, but the ones I mentioned look really good.

Sept. 5, 2:20 PM Katamaru wandered aimlessly about the campus, becoming accustomed to the surroundings once again. She always did this every year, namely because her horrible sense of direction usually made her late for classes for the first few days of every shool year, but it also gave her the chance to see the landscaping that had been redone before it got vaporized by laser cannons or trampled on by the usual stray chimera or what-have-you. Kat didn't have much time to enjoy the sights, as she'd spotted a group of Freshman boys tagging along behind her, following every motion of her swaying hips. She sighed and turned to face the group with scornful eyes. "You got problem? What you all follow me around for?" she said, with more than a touch of annoyance in her voice. The boys, taken aback slightly by the manner of her speech, looked to one another quizzically. One of them, a short-haired boy with a large mallet strapped to his back eyed her carefully. "Hey, doesn't she sound like Sham--" "Never mind who Kat sound like! Answer question!" The short-haired boy, who apparently promoted himself to leader, walked to the front and came closer to Kat. "Well, you just seem like the type who'd like to have a lot of...fun, so we were wondering if you'd want to have some fun with us." It took Kat all the strength she could muster not to totally go off the handle and lose it completely, so she decided to go with the only other solution she could come up with to handle the situation. Beat the crap out of him. Kat whipped out one of the katanas on her back with impressive speed and changed to one of her favorite battle stances. "Hiten Mitsurugi-style! Do Ryou Sen!" A shower of rocks, grass, earth and sun-baked concrete mixed together into a furious wave and hit the boy full force, as well as the boys behind them. All of them went down easily, sustaining plenty of cuts, bruises, and one or two contusions from the assault. Kat walked over to the boy and smiled down at him. "If that the kind of fun you talking, I be happy to join you." A low moan came from the boy's comically beaten form, the only form of "no" he could muster. "Kat no think so. Bye-bye, then." Replacing the sword back in its sheath, Kat happily continued on her way exploring the grounds. "Look like this going to be good year!"

A very interesting topic, Dagger. Kudos. There are several points that have been made that I agree with. 1) Shrink-wrapping is good. I think that shrink-wrapping manga would be a great idea. Many times, I've come across manga that have had dog ears and other such bookmarking atrocities in them and I've been pretty miffed to see them. I so happened to purchase Eerie Queerie! Vol. 1, only to find that it had pen marks all up and down the pages in the middle of the books. Needless to say, I was not a hapy individual. As Tony said, it's a store, not a library. Unless you're going to buy it, you have no business marking anything in it. And even with library books, you're not supposed to mark in them in that way. That's what bookmarks and scrap pieces of paper are made for. 2) Campers are the spawn of Satan. It seems as if every time I walk into B. Dalton (my bookstore of choice), there are at least 5-8 people forming a nearly impenetrable wall around the graphic novel section, each with a manga or an SJ in hands. Many times I have wanted to kick them neatly in the thigh. Repeatedly. One, they're blocking the way for other customers, most of whom are actually going to pay for something, to get to what they want, and two, most of them would rather give you an attempt at a death glare rather than just scoot out of the way and let someone pass by. Bastards. 3) Testers I agree that eh luu's suggestion of having a "manga tester" (like they do with perfumes/cologne/lotion in stores) is a great idea. At least that way you know that only one copy of the manga would have something (if anything) wrong with it, and people can't take away from the purchaseable merchadise by taking all the copies of one manga off the shelf (as has happened to me many times, to my chagrin). Although it may cost the store the price of one manga, it helps them in that they won't have a return of another of the same manga being returned due to some major mark/flaw found by a customer from camper-viewing. 4) The In-Store Database Interestingly enough, on my trip to D.C., I walked into a Borders in Pentagon City that had this system. there were several terminals with access to all the books/DVDs/CDs the store had or has had in inventory with cover art, summary, the whole nine. It was set up similar to a library search system, so it was easy to use, and in my opinion, extremely helpful. It would be great if all the stores could implement this type of thing, since it might cut down on the camper population and help more people out in general. So, it's something to try and push for, if there's any way of going about it. ^^; So, yeah. Overall, I think shrink-wrappng is a great idea. I'm sure there are manga readers around the world who would agree, but as far as it becoming commonplace, it night take some convincing with certain publishers/distributors/what-have-you.

If your going to start a thread about a series, you have to go into at least some detail about it. There are some people who may have never heard of this series or what-have-you, so it's common courtesy to include at least a little info about it. Also, your post quality is more than a bit lacking, so I suggest you work on that as well. I'm closing this thread, but if there is another member that would like to take another (better) crack at this, I have no qualms. Thanks.

Manga Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [Warning: Spoilers]
Kei replied to Aya_Fujimiya_42's topic in Otaku Central
Lusheeta, I'd like to remind you that double-posting is not allowed here at OB. If you have something you wish to add to your post, use the Edit button located at the bottom right hand corner of your post. Also, we don't allow members to have two images in their signature. Please choose one and stick with it, thanks. Anyways, on topic, I've heard vaguely about this series, but I never delved into reseaching it properly. The plot line seems interesting to, for how many times some of the elements have been used before. Somewhat inventive, if I dare say so. Though the character designs do seem to deviate from what I've seen in the manga the various people are taken from, it still looks promising. I may very well give it a test run the next time I go to the mall. Being that it's got so many CLAMP characters, I'm sure I'll like it, lol. -
Sign Up Anime Stereotype High School: Enrolment [PG-13]
Kei replied to Solo Tremaine's topic in Theater
Name: Katamaru Fujisawa (Kat for short; real name: Kaye Fuller) Anime Stereotype: Absent-minded rurouni-wannabe Age: 17 Gender: Female Year: Junior Appearance: Kat stands at about 5'10". She has long white hair usually draw back into a ponytail with long bangs, but is known to let it hang down from time to time. She always wears color contacts to avoid wearing her glasses, but she mixed up her pair with another, so she always has one ice blue eye and one red eye (her bangs hide one eye and switch depending on her mood. Her eyes are naturally brown). She has a very pleasant figure and wears a kimono-style outfit (similar to this, only with a blue and silver wrap instead of purple and orange) that accentuates her curves (though not purposefully). She always carries twin katanas on her back (sheathed, of course) and a wakizashi in her belt sash. Alignment: Neutral Extra Subjects: Monster Control w/ Applied Spirit Taming Metalwork and Forgery Transformation Accommodation: Kat lives in a small shrine not far from campus. Her room is very small with barely any room to get around, as it's also a storehouse for various ceremonial items (which can cause scenes when special occasions come around). Bio: Katamaru wandered to Tokyo from America, where she was quite obsessed with everything having to do with Japan. After considering herself an expert after watching every samurai anime ever created, she bought a girl-samurai outfit from an online cosplay store, declared herself a rurouni, and hopped the first flight to Tokyo. Of course, once she got to Tokyo, she was promptly mugged by the local yakuza-in-training, and trully became a wanderer, keeping on the move every night to try and find a place to sleep. She eventualy came across the small shrine is which she currently resides, owned by one lecherous old priest who is intent on seeing her naked. She manages to thwart his plans every time though, however most of them are by accident or not to her knowledge. After staying for a while, she actually began practicing with the moves she saw on television, finding it harder than it looked (Surprisng, no?). However, she stuck with it and is pretty decent with a sword. Eventually, she got bored with staying around the shrine all day and decided to check out TAUS, which she had heard about from one of the shrine's vistors. She enrolled and happily attends everyday, though she's still not familiar with Tokyo (after three years...) and often gets lost going home... Being that she's from America, Kat's Japanese is hardly fluent, but she manages to get her point across one way or another (though she usually has to go through a interesting game of Charades beforehand...) Kat sticks up for her friends when they're in trouble, and is a very nice individual at heart, but she becomes a total psycho when she sees a thief or bully picking on someone...or a disturbingly cute stuffed animal. Don't ask why. (As a side note, Kat has an obsessions with...cats. Again, don't ask why.) Special Powers/Abilities: Kat has the ability to mimic skills she's seen on an anime (given enough time to practice). Also, with the courses she taken in Transforming, she can turn into a small variety of animals of a short amount of time. Sworn Enemies: Thieves, Bullies, and the aforementioned Disturbingly Cute Stuffed Animal -
This RPG will be rated Mature, due to fact that it will contain sexual situations, as well as swearing and violence, among other things. Gotta cover the bases. ^_~ Everyone here in Station Square has a brand new skyscraper to look at with the arrival of the largest technology firm on Mobius, HedgeTech Inc., deciding to set up a base of operations here. The decision by the company’s CEO, Shadow T. Hedgehog, came as a welcome surprise to our own mayor, Waller Rotor. “When I received the call from Mr. Hedgehog, I was very surprised to say the least. However, I’m very happy that HedgeTech Inc. has staked a claim here in our fine city. I’m quite certain that the new jobs they will provide will help settle our economy a bit, as well as the sum he gave to the city for the space downtown.” Mayor Rotor was unwilling to comment on exactly how much was given, but he said that it was a considerable sum. Hedgehog, other than being known for his CEO work, is also a great animatarian, giving vast amounts of money to charities around the world and funding many betterment projects around the country. I spoke with the elusive Mr. Hedgehog earlier today, and he had this to say about his decision, as well as his critics: “I know that several people that have been trailing my company have plenty to say about this latest venture of mine, most of it probably being that I’ll end up in the red coming this fiscal year. I certainly do not agree. We here at HedgeTech Inc. currently have a very large project in the works that may indeed prove to be most profitable in the long run. If you want to know what we’re planning exactly…Well, you’ll just have to wait and see.” Certainly interesting, to say the least. Well, at least we know that with HedgeTech Inc., it’s sure to be something we’ll remember. This is Lara-Su Echidna, Channel 3 News, signing off. “Turn it off.” A slender, manicured hand let one of a finely sharpened nail press the power button of the television, immediately ending Shadow’s personal version of the broadcast. His assistant walked over to the desk and stood beside her employer, smiling all the while. “You’ve got their curiosity peaked, Shadow.” Shadow sat back in his high-backed leather chair, laying his arms on the rests and turning to her. “Seems as such. But that reporter was right. When we do unveil our little ‘project,’ it’ll be something that people are going to remember for a long time.” He turned around and looked out his large bay window overlooking the bright lights of Station Square’s night skyline. “Isn’t that right, oh brother of mine?” *** Somewhere in the urban area of Station Square, in a rundown apartment building that barely passed its recent safety inspection, a blue hedgehog sneezed in his sleep. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- HedgeTech Inc. has made its way to Station Square, a bustling metropolis of over two million, and is causing quite a stir with its recent revelation. It seems that the next big thing from the company will be researched and developed only in the city, according to its illustrious CEO, Shadow T. Hedgehog. Unknown to the masses, however, the end product can have a result that would destroy the very foundation of existence. Only thing is, the entire plan of it is locked away in the brain of the most unlikely anti-hero you’ll ever meet in your life. Sonic Hedgehog, your average Joe with one heck of a bad luck streak going, thinks things just can’t get any worse. He’s been laid off, dumped by his girlfriend, and got an eviction notice all in the span of three days. All he wants to do is drown his sorrows at the nearest bar and forget everything that’s happened, but that’s kind of hard with no cash in your pocket. How can a hopeless loser like this have the potential to bring Armageddon to the planet? You’ll just have to wait and find out… ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This RPG will not follow common Sonic logic, if you haven’t already guessed. Sonic & Co. are more like regular humans in this universe, so try to keep that in mind as you create your sign-ups. Here’s the sign-up sheet (Be sure to read any attached notes): Name: (First names are your own choice. Last names are usually what species of animal you are, with the only exceptions being Miles and Amy. If you do make a different last name, use the following fill-in to state your race.) Race: (See above note) Age: (Anywhere from 19-27) Description: (A picture or written description is fine. Keep in mind that is this universe, everyone wears clothes, not just girls) Biography: (Your character’s past) Personality: (Your character’s quirks. What makes them stand out.) Special Ability: (Special abilities in this universe are much different, in that, it’s not that Sonic can run at super speed, but he is particularly fast for a hedgehog, Knuckles is a really strong street fighter, etc. Try to integrate their special abilities into their everyday lives. If you need help, PM me. ^^) Rules regarding characters: 1) Yes, you are allowed to create your own characters. The only thing I ask about original characters is that some thought be put into their creation. A decent background is a must. 2) You are allowed to play as an existing character from any Sonic series (including the comic) with the following exceptions: Sally Acorn, Bunny Rabbot, Antoine (Sonic the Hedgehog ’92, Sonic the Hedgehog Comic from Archie Comics) or any human from Sonic X, and Eggman. 3) I ask that the following roles attempt to be filled. Plus signs represent good guys, minus signs represent bad guys; both indicate somewhere in-between: Sonic (+), Shadow (-), Knuckles (+-), Tails (+), Rouge (+-), Amy (+), Espio (+-). Take a note that while Espio and Rouge are on the fence, they work for Shadow. Knuckles is also on the fence, but currently sides with Sonic. That being said, here's my own sign-up sheet. I suppose it can be used as an example for people who want to create original characters: Name: Keita Echidna Age: 21 Description: Keita stands at a height of 3’2”, but manages 3’4” in heels. She always manages to flatter her light purple fur tone and light blue eyes with her attire, the outfit she usually wears being a form-fitting business-style suit, accented with two thin Ring bracelets on both wrists. Often times, she’s seen wearing thin-framed reading glasses, but only during the daytime. At night, she switches to contacts. Biography: Keita is Shadow’s right-hand lady, acting as his personal assistant at HedgeTech. Keita was formerly a thief-for-hire, doing whatever job a customer would want if the price was right. It was that way that she met Rouge and the both of them climbed the ranks in the Thieves’ Underworld. They were known as the best in the business for a long time, and for good reason. They’d never failed in a heist, and they earned the nickname of “The Phantom Duo” for their ability to slip through even the most advanced security system unnoticed. That is, until one fateful night when that all changed… It was during a job from a main rival of HedgeTech that the both of them were caught in the middle of a job because of a small error Keita made. They were both captured and eventually convinced (by convinced, I mean tortured) them into giving out all the information he wanted out of them, and promptly threw them out like yesterday’s trash. After that, the two of them fell from glory and were treated like common thugs by their fellow thieves. Keita harbored a grudge against Shadow and decided to go after him one night, despite Rouge’s advice not to. However, he attempt failed in the end, and she was again captured. Shadow offered to release her, on the condition that she work for him. Keita hatefully accepted, knowing that if she refused, she would more than likely be killed. As time went on, Keita became more fascinated by the way Shadow worked and overcame the feelings of her grudge, eventually even coming to fancy him. The both of them are currently in a relationship outside the company. But even though she hides it well, she keeps the thought of what happened two years ago in the back of her mind…and she always will… As well as Shadow’s assistant and lover, she is also the head of Shadow’s attack unit, usually used to take care of up and coming rivals or people who have stuck their noses where they didn’t belong. All the others must directly report to her, and she is often the one that gives orders to them, as Shadow will normally leave assassination tactics in her capable hands. Personality: Keita tends to keep her emotions well hidden during the day, not letting on anything about how she may be feeling when there are other employees or clients about. But, she’s often very-outspoken when alone with Shadow or by herself. She often tends to come off as arrogant to the others, and will more than often times offer a snide remark than a helping hand, but she won’t hesitate to lend assistance when she feels that someone’s mistake may put an entire mission at risk. Just be prepared to get more than an earful afterward…if she doesn’t kill you first. Special Ability: Technically, Keita doesn’t have any “special” abilities. However, previously being a thief, she is very agile and quick to think on her feet. It’s not very easy to catch her off guard. She loses most of that ability if she becomes enraged, however. ----------------- Keep in mind to put your best foot forward presentation-wise and make sure you proofread before you post. --; Let's break this down, shall we? 1) This is supposed to a thread about the manga version of Furi Kuri. If you want to discuss the anime, take it to the aptly titled Anime Lounge. 2) 3/4 of the posts here are utter spam. You all are lucky that I haven't closed this down so far. Manga Workshop is here to discuss manga. As I said before, take anime discussions to Anime Lounge. And several of you need to work on your posting habits, or you're not going to last very long around here, I can guarantee you that. I'm closng this down now, but know that all of you have been warned. I know that all of you weren't responsible for the way this thread went, but you know how the saying goes that one can ruin it for many.

I'm very happy that a somewhat decent conversation has spawned from this topic, but I will say that that was no way to start a topic. If you're going to start a discussion about a manga, go into some detail about why you like it so much. Talk about the art, the writing (or translation, I guess I should say), or other things that catch your eye about it. Try and put some ideas out that would make somebody think a little. Just posting to have a place to post about it is a pitiful reason, for sure.

As wiccan said, I can't see how you can begin to compare the two, even in terms of dress. The only thing that they have in common that I can remember offhand is that they both have guns somewhere in the series, lol. Anyway, I find this manga to be...interesting, to say the least. The manner of detailed gore and nudity, as well as sexual discretion was indeed eyebrow-raising. I've only read up to Volume 3, as that were my library's collection stops, but if I spy it, I'll probably pick up the rest. In terms of your question, iggy, you can buy Battle Royale where other TokyoPop mangas are sold, like Barnes & Noble or B. Dalton (my personal store of choice). I would also suggest trying to ut a bit more effort in your posting, FYI.

Manga What new manga/manwha are you reading now?
Kei replied to Monkey_Orange's topic in Otaku Central
All right. Enough is enough. I've been watching this thread for a while now, and I've seen it become nothing but a list of mangas that people are reading. True, there are some posts here that actually go into some detail (as they should), but the majority are just the previously-mentioned lists. If I see that this thread continues along these lines, I'll have to shut it down. Trust me, I don't want to do that. It has definate potential (as it did when it started). To keep this thing alive, try going into why you bought the manga you did. Give your entire opinion on it, not just "I liked this part!" Why did you like that part? What was so special about it? Give it some depth! All I'm asking for is a little effort, overall. Not too much, really. Try it out for me. As a favor. -
There are a lot of things I remember being great about OB, so Ill just highlight a select few that stand out for me: Becoming Moderator for Pokemon- My anniversary of being Modded is actually coming up pretty soon, lol. Like Solo, I was too through when I was asked. And the best thing about it was, I never saw it coming, lol. I'd hardly ever talked to any Moderators or James, so it was a huge shock when he asked me. Although, being the Pokemon freak I was back then, I shouldn't have really been so surprised... I was just as happy when I was put over Manga Workshop during the v7 upgrade. Now that I'm just about as big on manga as I was on Pokemon, it seems like a good fit to me, lol. Otaku Big Brother II- Ah, OBBII. The lovely memories it brings back. I had an absolute ball in that event (and I'm still looking forward to OBBIII *pokes a certain coodinator*), though I never found out when we had the first one.... Anywho, I met a lot of good friends there, and laughed a lot at all the crazy situations we made up. Of course, OBBII was also the birthplace of the infamous Mini-Ken and all his plushie friends, and no one can deny their greatness. *nods firmly* Jeh's Breakdowns- All the times in the past when Jeh used to go behind some shoddily thrown together post by some member in OL and break it down to prove how wrong they were. Oh, the laughs I had.... I miss them. Only a few of a lot of shining moments here at OB for me. ^^
