1. 1) Don't attach pictures that have nothing to do with your posts. 2) If you plan on staying around on OB, I suggest you work on your typing skills. Using proper grammar and English is one of the basic rules around here, which I suggest you take a look at. 3) As for your question, cine-manga is basically, just as you said, a movie book. They pretty much take screenshots from the show and add captions and speak bubbles of actual dialouge from the show. Not much different from any of the other movie graphic novels that have come out in the past, just with anime instead. Also, both Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away both have their own series of graphic novels currently available from Viz Communications.
2. It took me a long time to get in on this thread, lol. Anyways, after having watched all of the ones so far, Episode 7 would have to be my favorite, simply from the different art style (and the Flaming Firesword of Doomness). It would be nice if the entire series would have been animated that way, but I think that's asking a bit much. ^^; The dialouge is very true to your style, which I've come to really enjoy. The only qualm I have was with Episode 5, and that's mainly due to the fact it didn't feature Charles and Crimson. I do agree with Piro, however, about incorporating different things into the storyline like you did with the whole Lord of the Rings thing (it reminds me of the Yu-Gi-Oh! spoof you did in Super Otaku Brothers). It would be a really nice addition. ^^ A very nice series overall, but it'll never be another Daily Comic, lol.
3. This seems to be becoming a trend around here.... I will say this one time. I ask that all members try to put a little more thought and effort into their posts. Threads here in Manga Workshop quickly become spammy when members don't go into reasons why they like this or don't like that, or what-have-you. Try going more into what appeals to you about either of the two companies. I'm not saying that you have to make some gargantuan post or something, but depth never hurt anyone.
4. I'm going to move this to the Literature forum, since this thread would be much more at home there. Feel free to continue posting in it.
5. I'm going to have to shut this thread down, due simply to lack of worthwhile posting. Most of what everyone has said so far is that they've either never read it, or poorly described how they didn't like it. If someone wants to make a thread that will actually merit a real discussion about "Onegai, Teacher!", go right ahead. But this one's going the way of the YYH forum.
6. I've been meaning to go through and give this thread a warning along the same lines, Piro, though adimittedly, not to your depth in temrs of alternatives, lol. As Piro said, anyone who posts in this thread is required to give reasons for liking whatever manga they prefer. Otherwise, it's hardly better than the favorites threads that used to plauge Anime Lounge not too long ago. If I see any more posts like the ones above, I won't hesitate to close this thread down. So I advise everyone to put some thought into any response you want to give.
7. Actually, I think Mars has already been animated. I remember seeing a trailer for it on another DVD, but I may be mistaken, as I can't remember which one it was. Anyways, I'm in agreement with Monkey_Orange in thinking that Demon Diary would be great as an animated series, even though it would probably end up being a 13 ep. The story and art are amazing, but I have a feeling some of that would be taken away at the movement from manga to anime style, as most do. I also think Eerie Queerie might be nice to see animated, though only two volumes are out and I have no idea where the story's going. ^^; It just seems like it would be good, for lack of better explanation.
8. I'm surprised that no one has made a thread about this series yet. I so happened upon Jing through my local library system and instantly fell in love with it. It follows the exploits of Jing, a young boy who is the (nearly) unmatched King of Bandits, and his wise-cracking, skirt-chasing Gun Crow, Kir. The two of them travel around the world finding treasures and stealing them through various means, often with a lot of comedy and action mixed in. The art style is definately different from a lot of artists that I've read in the past, but in a good way. The sketches at the end of every book show just how hard the artist works to make the details and things really pop. The depth of Jing is another thing I like about the series. There are parts of the series where he talks about his mother and keeps hinting at what she was like through the things she gives him at times and other methods. You can only wonder if they'll do a full flashback and let you see her. They might have already done so, as I've only read up to Vol. 5 and I haven't even started on Twilight Tales yet. The back story of Kir was entertaining, too. All in all, I think this is a wonderful series that I don't think a lot of people really pay attention to. Anyone else have thoughts about it?
9. Hi. Welcome to OB. We don't allow threads (outside Adventure Arena) to be brought back that have been inactive for over a month, due to the fact that they've been long forgotten and any posting in them is usually off-topic. Additionally, there is now a thread to recruit artists for any mangas that anyone may be working on at the top of the forum. This was added after this thread was made, but if Unborn Lord Xion still needs any assistance, he would have posted as such there. That being said, this thread will be closed.
10. Thank you, G/S/B Master. Number's 4 and 5 on that list are "Saiyuki" and "Fushigi Yuugi: The Mysterious Play." The only two out of that lot that I've read are Fushigi Yuugi and Rurouni Kenshin. The only reason I'm reading Kenshin right now is to see the differences from the manga and the anime (which there do happen to be some big ones at certain areas). Fushigi Yuugi, however, I picked up because a friend of mine rants and raves about it every time somebody says the word "manga." I got the first volume from the library and liked the different (at the time) storyline and the interesting characters. The art style was great, too. I guess I should be glad I listened to her that one time, shouldn't I? lol
11. Indeed, Karma. Personally, I rather like getting a lot of manga in one magazine, even if you can't choose which ones are depicted. If you're only buying it for one particular series, in that way, you may find a series that you enjoy just as much. However, I do buy the separate mangas themselves from Viz/SJ, but only because I like having the entire series of a manga that I may have missed parts to (as is the case here, since I only just started buying SJ regularly, and I missed a lot of YYH.) In terms of full volume Shonen Jump versus TokyoPop, SJ would win, but only by a slim margin. They're both pretty much on the same level, but Tokyopop sometimes cuts off the text (either by putting off to the edge of the page, or cramming it into the spine) making it frustrating sometimes. That's the only reason. Tokyopop would definately win in terms of selection, but that's really not fair, since SJ is relatively new and only has a few titles out.
12. I'm pretty much in line with Tony here. It all depends on which track sounds better to me. Though it's sometimes hard to choose with some animes with me (i.e. Yu Yu Hakusho. I love John Burgmeier's voice with Kurama, but Kuwabara's seiyuu cracks me up, lol.) Although, I tend to watch both tracks, just to see how the subtitles differ from the English voice-overs. Just a weird thing I do, I guess.
13. vash-san and DevelishAngel, I suggest that the both of you work a little harder on putting more effort into your posts. Those were more than a little horrible. In terms of good series to read, I would suggest to either start out with Rave Master (available from Tokyopop) or Ranma 1/2 (available from Viz Communications). They're both easy on the eyes text and art wise, and heavy on comedy. Ranma 1/2 also focuses on romance, if only in an off-hand way. I haven't really read any romantic series, but Kare Kano and Kodocha: Sana's Stage may be a route to go down. They're both great series from two great shoujo mangaka. Definately worth a look. ^^
14. Welcome to OB. ^^ Something along these longs would usually go under the category of a "siggy ad" or a signature advertisement. The only thing that we allow requests in thread-form to be made are in the Art and Design forum, or if someone is requesting information on a series of some genre. Just so that both you and everyone else knows. ^^ That said, I'll be closing this down now.

Help Me!!!

As Subaru hs already stated, your post is definately lacking in the details department. In the future, you should flesh out your posts more. Give us something to go on, if only just the gist of the plot. It helps out a lot. What would also help out a lot is if you'd work on your post quailty. For now, I'm going to go ahead and close the thread, but take my advice to heart. ^^
16. 1) Your title is different from the question you're asking, so you may want to specify which two titles you're trying to compare. 2) You should really try to put more thought into your posts, like saying which you believe is better, and for what reasons. 3) In regards to Saiyuki vs. YYH: I've not yet read Saiyuki, but from what I saw in the sampler I got at Suncoast, it looks very interesting. The art style is very cool, if the plot has been a bit overdone. Yu Yu Hakusho is a good manga in my opinion, with its great charaters and odd art at times. In regards to Saiyuki vs. Naruto: I haven't read either, so I can't really comment. I can say that all of them look like great reads for someone just getting into manga, though.
17. Gatomon quickly picked herself up off the floor and began dusting herself off, the explosion having caught her off guard and made her lose her balance. Instantly, the area around them became frenzied with Digimon and humans alike checking damage reports and other things on the various monitors around the room. "I want the source found and isolated! Notify me at once if you find anything!" "What the hell could've caused something like that?!" Gatomon asked no one in particular. "I don't know, but I aim to find out. You two are to help with the search." Maildramon replied. "Hold on a second!" Fladramon said walking up the towering Digimon. "Just why should we be taking orders from you?" "Because," Maildramon began, taking a menacing step forward, "otherwi--" "Just please do it as a favor," the human commander interuppted, giving Maildramon a warning look. "We don't have many Digimon here that would be able to navigate down there easily, and we don't have many vehicles properly equipped to go down in the tunnels when they're in that condition. You two are the only ones around that seem strong and agile enough to be of any great help." Gatomon looked over at Fladramon and rolled her eyes, not at all wanting to give any type of help to them, but knowing that if they wanted to get out of there any time soon, they would have to be at least a little cooperative. Fladramon caught onto her hint and looked warily over at the commander. After a moment of silence, Fladramon sighed. "All right. But we have a lot of talking to do afterwards."
18. I'd love to be a part of theOtaku's Fan Art Moderating Team. I check in every day to see what new artwork has been uploaded, and I'm always happy to see the excellent pieces that come in. I find it exciting to see that all these people are out there and can do such great work. It also makes me happy that they decide to share it with the rest of the Otaku Network community. Receiving comments on my own artwork is great too, and I was really happy to see the comments system added so I could get tips on how I could improve and get praised for something I really worked hard on to share with others. I've been a part of OtakuBoards since around v2, and I've seen lots of great pieces posted on OB, be they traditional or CG. I'm sure that through theOtaku.com: Fan Art that there will be lots more to come, and I'd just really like to be part of letting other see it. Thanks for you consideration, Lady Katana
19. I'm going to try to steer this thread in a better direction, so here goes. Groove Adventure Rave (or Rave Master, as it's known in the US) does indeed revolve around the world of music. You can tell by the names of most of the cities, as pointed out by others, and even by the names of some of the characters (i.e. the Musica family). Not that it doesn't have it's fair share of action, as it does with Haru and the Ten Commandments sword, not to mention Elle and her tonfa blasters. It does have an interesting storyline to it, though I've only read the first three volumes, so I have no idea where it goes. It does look good, though. And yes, CN has added the Groove Adventure Rave anime (under the US title) to their Toonami lineup. I've yet to see it, however.
20. This thread started out on a bad note and hasn't let up with the flat tones yet, so it's going to be closed. I suggest that in the future, if you want to talk about a manga, try actually structuring your posts toward conversation and make good use of spoiler tags.
21. This doesn't appear to be anything regarding about making any sort of manga. I might be wrong, but just to be safe, I shall move this to the Art & Design forum. *does so*
22. Quite nice, Solo. A nice addition to the Enter the Net saga, indeed. Almost as soon as I started reading that, I started sketching out the plushie versions of everyone to try and draw it, lol. I'm weird that way. :p But Shin has a point. That did remind me of the whole "Who's On First?" routine. Not that that's a bad thing (quite the contrary. A&C were cool.), I just didn't think anyone else could pull it off quite so well. Except maybe Skippy and Slappy Squirrel, lol.
23. Gatomon had only been walking around for a few minutes, having just woken up in her new surroundings. It reminded her a lot of the caves she used to frequent in the Digital World before the merge. "Now's not the time for old memories. I need to find out where the hell I am." She continued walking down the hallway, pausing every now and then to further examine something she thought seemed like a clue or to hop over a pipeline, when she finally saw a small spot of light far off down a tunnel that split from the one she was currently in. "Well, if anything, I may be able to find something that'll tell me where this place is." Taking the path, she continued along until she came to what seemed like a small hospital. There were a lot of Digimon milling around tending to things and cleaning. A few were helping other Digimon that appeared to be severely injured. One of those seemed to catch her attention almost immediately. "Flamedramon!"
24. I think this art is very nice. There are only a few gripes I have about it (namely the digital clock), but other than that, this is great artwork to go with a great story. You should really try to go for a colored version, or at least let us see one that's toned. I know I'd look forward to it. ^^
25. mace_lightning and SilverCyclone, I want you two to watch your posting in the future. The posts made by the both of you qualify as spam, so you may want to edit them with what you like about the storyline and why.
