Originally posted by Shinmaru What, no mention of the NES? I'm shocked, people.
You are not alone, my friend. I used to adore my NES. Then I got an SNES, lol. I used to stay on that thing for hours on end. Especially after I got Super Mario All-Stars. My mom had to tell me at least five times to go to bed every night. Besides that, I used play with random stuffed animals on my room. I remember the Care Bear I loved so much. I still have it, though I forget which one it is. The pink one. I had the purple one, too, but he disappeared.... Oh, and another thing I used to play with were those McDonald's toys that came out. I had loads of them. They're all gone now. I gave them all away. Except that Simba one I got when Lion King first came out. That one stayed with me. He sits on my phone to this day. lol

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Manic. It's actually a word now. It's been published by Webster. (As per a comeback by a friend of mine, lol) I agree with just about everyone else. It's not a big deal that teachers curse. Every living person is bound to hear a "swear word" at one time or another in their lives. That's unavoidable. The only time children should be spared from hearing it is if they happen to sill be in grade shool (i.e. K-5). Other than that, they'll more than likely hear it every single day from a friend, a parent, a relative, or your random person on the street. Like just about everyone had already said, it's not that big a deal. By the way, click here. Just a hunch, but you might want to give this a try. ^_~

Nay, Solo. Afraid that's still Master Quest. We're just about up to the ep where they all go their separate ways. I believe that's when Ash also starts on his way to Hoenn, but that may not be until the Advanced premiere. We'll just have to see.

I totally agree that this game looks pretty cool. I'd seen some of these screenshots before, but I think you're the one that posted them in the first place. The RPG mode sounds looks like it will be a nice addition to the game, though the boy character looks pretty sinister in my opinion. Cool, but sinister. Oo; I noticed in some of those ads the GBA link that'll be shipping with Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green upon their release. It does look relatively like the infared port on GBAs, but hopefully, it'll be much better. The fact that it can link with the GCN is nice. I, like Semmah, am looking forward to these new developments. All I have to do is get a GCN and wait patiently. lol
The reason Misty has left is because her sisters have decided to have a world tour of their water show, and Misty must return to Cerulean to run the Gym. At least that's what I've read.
We'll know the whole story when Pokémon Advanced premieres on November 1. Kids' WB is simply your regular WB station on Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. To find it, just look it up in your local TV listings.

I've actually had some dreams regarding OB as well. One was a while back. Some of the OBers were playing Paintball all military-style. Solo, Weh and myself were on one team; James, Charles and Transtic were on the other. We'd all met in a big clearing and were just about to go all out on each other, then a tribe of wild people (I'm assuming it was supposed to be newbies) came and beat all of us with sticks. I have no idea what that was all about. Strangely enough, as Solo had a dream with me in it, I had one with him. We were in a medieval time period, armor and all, and we were going to fight a dragon, but we kept getting sidetracked by listening to random muses on the road singing animé themes. God, I'm weird. --;

You're new here, so I'll let this one slide. BUt in the future, try to look for threads that already have the same theme going as the question you have. Your question should have gone in the "Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire Q/A" thread at the top of the page.

Cited from IGN.com Nintendo of America released three versions of the same RPG on the Game Boy system (Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition...Pokemon Green was only released in Japan), and three versions of the game for the Game Boy Color (Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Crystal, all with slight tweaks in the later updates. Pokemon: Leaf Green Version and Pokemon: Fire Red Version will most likely build off the existing RPG design from Ruby and Sapphire, while including access to previously locked Pokemon creatures so gamers can catch them in their copy of the game. Fire Red and Leaf Green will be compatible with Ruby and Sapphire, so creatures caught in one version of the game will be transferrable to the others. Also, Fire Red and Leaf Green will also be compatible with Pokemon Box and Pokemon Colosseum for the GameCube console.
Not surprising from Nintendo, as stated in the article, but it will be nice for Ru/Sp players to catch other Pokémon and transfer them over.
Also cited from IGN.com Nintendo officially announced the new additions to the Pokemon RPG series for the Game Boy Advance, an "update" to the adventure originally released on the Game Boy about a half-decade ago. Pokemon: Fire Red and Pokemon: Leaf Green are the next two games that continue the series on the handheld, and over the weekend the Japanese Pokemon site revealed one brand new shot of the adventure running on the GBA. Because the game's an update to the original Pokemon (Red, Blue in the US), players will begin their quest with one of the three original starter Pokemon critters, either Squirtle, Bulbasaur, or Charmander. This edition will be 100% trade and battle compatible with Pokemon: Ruby Edition and Pokemon: Sapphire Edition, which also means that there will be quite a few creatures that couldn't be caught in Ruby and Sapphire which will be readily available in Fire Red and Leaf Green. Of course, these new Pokemon games will also be compatible with the upcoming Pokemon Colosseum GameCube 3D battle game so players can upload their characters to the console. No release date, either in the US or Japan, have been revealed.
Equally nice addition. (See attachment) But this next little bit is what's got my interest piqued:
Just for a change of pace, cited from IGN.com Satoru Iwata has said that the new Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red will ship with a wireless adapter which will enable players to overcome the technical hurdles of linking up.
Say it with me, people: Oooooooo. I'm guessing it'll be exactly like the infared port on GBC and should link up like people did with Mystery Gift. I know I'll be trying to get this when it comes out. Although I will have to get another GBA... All in all, I think this is pretty cool. I haven't heard anything about an RPG mode on Colloseum, but I shall surely be looking into it.

Heh. Welcome to OB. I realise you're new here, so first let me direct you to the OtakuBoards Info Center. We require all members to give this a good going-over before they start posting. Secondly, we really don't allow these types of threads here. If it were to lead to an actual discussion, like if anyone eats it, and what they think of it and such, it wouldn't be that much of a problem. We ask that all members keep this type of stuff to PMs and such, so the wisest thing to do is put this type of question in your signature rather than make a thread about it. It saves a lot of grief, lol. Try to remember that in the future. ^_~

It's all right this time. I would try to have your lowest level Pokémon at 35-37. That way, even if you're at a slight disadvantage level-wise, you can still go down fighting.

Just for future reference, try not to double-post, BA. I had to edit that last one for you. Actually, Lugia can be located in the South-Western cave of the Whirl Islands if you feel like going through it quickly. Just make sure you have room in your Box and an Escape Rope handy, because he's more than likely going to wear you down no matter what level he's at. Depending on what version you have, it'll be 40 or 70, but the level 40 version has Aeroblast and they both have Recover, so eh. The Elite Four is a relatively easy lot if you have the right team. Just go in with a relatively balanced group and you should come out on top. Here's a little guide to help: Will: Psychic-type trainer; I'd mainly go Electric on him, but have a Pokémon with a Fire-type move to take out his Exeggutor. Koga: Poison/Bug-type trainer; A nice Fire-type like Typhlosion, Charizard, or even Magmar would do wonders. Bruno: Fighting/Rock-type trainer; A good Flyer like Pidgeot with Fly will do the trick here, but bring a Water or Ice-type for his Onixes. Karen: Dark-type trainer; Supposedly, but really more of a kaleidascope trainer. Just use a Typhlosion with Flamethrower and Earthquake or a similar Pokémon with similar moves and you'll be fine. Champion Lance: Dragon-type trainer: Ice-types are a must. I would say Lapras, but the speed's not too keen, and Lance is infamous for his Hyper Beams. If you have a Feraligator, be sure to teach it Ice Punch, and be sure to stock up on Revives, because kamikaze Pokémon are pretty sure-fire if you're not high-level.

I am currently a library aide for the tri-county area. It's actually a pretty nice gig, though the boss can be a bit grating at times. Apart from shelving books and shelf-reading, I get to help out with the programs the Children's Librarian does for the elementary kids, and when our regular security guard isn't in, I get to control the Internet computers. It can be trying at times, with the run of the kids that come through, but I really love it because I love to read, and I get first dibs on all the new books that come in. Not to mention DVDs. lol

Actually, they may still come on in the version of "The Best of Power Rangers" that comes on ABC Family's morning line-up. I wouldn't know exactly, though, because I can never watch it. Have to leave for school before it comes on. I used to love the Power Rangers. They were so awesome in the beginning, but after Power Rangers In Space, I kind of fell out of the whole thing. I heard from some of my other friends that it kind of went down the drain, but I never had the time to actually look it over again. But I do have to say that this Power Rangers: Ninja Storm that's out now doesn't look to hot to me...

No, Gary and Ash have never battled one another. As said before, they are usually interupted, or, as in the earlier episodes, Gary was too cocky to even take Ash seriously. I expect that it will be one for the ages in one way or another, though.

I highly advise against it, as this is a prediction thread, but if you do, kindly put it in spoiler tags. I've not had the chance to see any of the recent Pokémons due to my work schedule, but I have a strong feeling Ash may pull it out in the end, as he only made it to the Top 16 at the Indigo Plateau.

"Hope you found something nice, Toots. I do happen to look very nice in gray," said Rattrap. "Call me that again, and you'll end up looking bad in black and blue." "Well, 'scuse me, then! Geez, not like I called you--" "Shut up, Rattrap." Optimus interuppted. "Make yourself useful and try to help Rhinox keep the Axalon running until we can get things situated." "Right, right... I'm on it... Yeesh." Rattrap shuffled over to the monitor beside Rhinox and began trying anything he could to help the Axalon out, though half-heartedly. "Zero respect." he muttered. "What specimens have you found, Airazor?" Optimus asked. "I'll bring them on screen now." Airazor quickly brought up a screen and displayed the animals most suitable to use on the planet. Optimus scanned over them briefly and sighed. "They'll have to do. Let's just hope Megatron hasn't had as much luck as we have..."

I'd try to keep questions like that to PM if I were you, Zanarkand. I'd like for this to stay on the question you originally asked, if you don't mind.

Name: Rattrap Allegiance: Maximal Function: Arsenal management/Reconnaisance Alternate Form: Rat Armament: Pistol blaster, Tail sword, mini-bombs Biography: By far the most outspoken of the Maximal forces, Rattrap is an expert when it comes to anything explosive, including his mouth, which constantly gets him in trouble. He may tend to be somewhat cowardly at times, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, he can get in there and show the enemy what a rat can do when it gets cornered.

I've come not to really care about whether people say something about it or not, either, though not as if I really hang about people who would say something. Albeit, I don't exactly walk around saying "I still like Pokémon," people often ask me if I still like that and Dragonball Z, due to the fact that I often draw fanart of other animés I've come to enjoy. It usually ends up with me defending animé in some way, shape or form, saying that it's not just weird characters running around with magical powers and making weird faces, but the initial answer of me saying I still so happen to enjoy Pokémon is relatively the same: Them looking at me as if I've grown a second head. So like I said, I shrug it off. If they come to think that I'm immature, I'll let them think exactly that. It won't phase me any. I'll eventually prove them wrong, anyway. lol

Welcome to OB. ^^ I have to say right out that favorites threads are severely monitored, due to the fact that they usually become spammy relatively quickly. I will keep this open for the time being, provided that people give detailed reasons why they like the movies they do. Otherwise, it will be closed. One warning this time.
-
In case you didn't know, all animé related threads should be posted in the Animé Lounge. Not to harp or anything, but those are our rules. Just in case, you may want to give the rules a once over, which you can find in the Otakuboards Info Center. Just for future reference.

In Crystal, the mystery of the Ruins of Alph are explained. The Unown built them as a reminder to both humans and Pokémon for something. The particulars escape me at the moment, as I haven't played it in a while. In both Gold and Silver, you must solve all four puzzles in order to release all 26 Unown into the main Ruin. You do need to catch three different ones in order to get the Unowndex from the researcher. In my opinion, Unowns aren't that powerful, as all they can learn is Hidden Power, and I forget which type their HP works effectively against. It's more than likely still Fighting, but I honestly can't remember...

Yu-Gi-Oh! is actually semi-educational, as some of it's aspects come from Ancient Egyptian mythology. That's a good enough reason to watch it for me. As said, you may want to consider asking the people to write little summaries of the animés that you all watch, therefore, it makes it somewhat educational in the way that you're learning English skills that you'll eventually need anyway. Just a random thought.
