Like Sky3 said, someone you meet on the Internet isn't someone you can trust right off. It could all be just a front. Take the increasing amount of people being arrested for planning on meeting a minor they'd been talking to. He coud have been a frickin' serial killer, for all she knew. And yet, she still goes off, leaving her seven and three-year-old [i]alone[/i], without telling [i]anyone[/i] about it, to go meet him. It just pissed me off so bad for a certain reason. Child neglect is a crime on the rise in America, and this woman just heightened the statistics. It's just not right.[/color]

[color=royalblue]I was watching GMA this morning when a story came on that shocked me. It said that a woman left her two children, seven and three, alone by themselves to go 3,000 miles across the country to meet a man she met on the Internet. The seven-year-old cared for her little brother, feeding him ad bathing him and such. They only had a bunch of TV dinners and some snacks to eat, and one video tape to watch while she was gone. Fortunately, an observant neighbor happened to see the little girl pulling the blinds shut one day, and his wife heard them crying. They called the ploice to investigate, and found them huddled in the corner of a back room. The mother was arrested when she returned, and the children were placed in foster care. When I saw that, I got sick. I mean, how the hell can a person just leave thier children at home by themselves, when they're that young? How can someone leave their children period? Any person should know that you're never supposed to do that, especially to meet someone you don't even know. I personally hope she gets a good, long sentence. What are your takes on this?[/color]

[color=royalblue]Yes, that's another one of those false rumors out there. Just because the female may be a Shining Pokémon, that doesn't mean the baby will be as well. The fact is, only 1 in every 6,000 Wild Pokémon battles result in your opponent being a Shining Pokémon, so to have a baby hatch as one would be even less likely.[/color]

I mean, if your Ditto is at Lv. 100 and the opposing Smeargle is at Lv. 50 or something, of course it'll work, but I was thinking in terms as if your had just caught the Ditto and went after the Smeargle in the Ruins of Alph right after. As for the moveset thing, that's technically true, but the baby will still have the moves that it always starts with (i.e. Pichu starts with Thundershock and Charm, etc.). I think Smeargle may be faster than Ditto, which would make Smeargle's Sketch attack useless, then the Ditto would transform and use Sketch, but the only thing Smeargle can use now is Struggle. It might have been longer, I can't remember. Then they stuffed this wicked tasting packing in my mouth and told me not to take it out for a week. Second, when we older members and Moderators tell a new member that what they've posted is not appropriate for whatever reason, we are not "attacking them" as you put it. We are simply informing the person that they've made a mistake. Given that some of the members here have started "playing Mod" as of late, and that's uncalled for in most cases, but otherwise, we're just trying to help the member out. There are nicer ways of just saying "This doesn't belong here." as you said, which is where we Mods come in to tell why the topic was closed, why a post was edited, so on and so forth. So you see, we don't "attack" people, simply try to help before the problem escalates into something serious and causes someone to be banned for whatever reason.[/color]

[color=royalblue]I've noticed that people's interest in books have declined in recent years as well. It is a fact that most people simply don't have the time to read, but it is also a fact that television is probably why they don't have the time to read. A lot of kids in this day and age are addicted to TV and movies, as they have never been introduced to all that books can offer. I, myself, am quite the avid reader as I don't really get homework and have a lot of spare time on my hands. I've been reading books like the Redwall series and other things similar to it, as the fantasy genre appeals to me, that really stetch one's imagination, but with all the advances in cinematography and all the high-action, flashy shows as of late (i.e. Lord of the Rings, Fastlane, and the soon coming Miracles) the people who frequently watch television and movies have no reason to read anymore, as the special effects on the screen replace what the imagination can do in the mind. It's quite sad really, as later generations might lose interest in books all together...[/color]

It is true that Eevee and Quagsire are a bit of a far-fetched combo, but that's how the EGG Groups are set up. Although I fail to recall if Quagsire is in fact in both the Water 1, 2, or 3 Group and the Ground Group as well, as that's the only way they can be bred. Anyways, I don't really see a point to the topic, but one may appear, so I'll keep it open for now. Nerdsy or Des might disagree, so don't be surprised if this gets closed. People are always wearing Abercrombie, Aéropostle, and all that other crap, trying to look cute, when they're grades suck like hell, and they know they need to be putting the money they have in clothes toward a tutor. It gets on my nerves. The way I see it, as long as you don't come out of the house naked and get arrested for indecent exposure, it's all gravy.[/color]
