The LAN issue doesn't really matter to me; for one thing, I don't have enough room in my house for that and two, I don't know enough people that would play F-Zero GX with me, anyway. But I'm sure that there were enough people looking forward to LAN play to disappoint, but it's a non-issue with me. But I do agree that a track editor would have been great, even if they would've had to simplify the graphics a little bit to make it possible. I have to say what everyone else is saying and that is that the graphics look simply amazing. This game puts nearly every single other GameCube game that I've seen to shame, and from the sound of it, this game still blazes along like nobodies business. The level of detail in the graphics is just astounding and the fact that it moves that fast is just mind-boggling. I'm also glad to hear that the gameplay and controls are as tight as ever. Simply put, even if a game looked as incredible as F-Zero GX does, if the controls are all wrong, then the game is worthless. Of course, I don't know how good the controls are until I test them out myself, but to read that the controls have gotten good marks so far, is very reassuring to me. Overall, this is the game that I am looking forward to right now and I'll probably get it the first day it comes out. Too bad I have to wait for Fall for this to come out; I wish it were out right now!

"I hope Ruby was able to help dayday with whatever was bothering her," mirai said to himself. "And I hope she comes back soon, because I'm kinda bored." Mirai started looking at the stars again. "They really are beautiful tonight," he told himself. "I guess it gives me good reason to talk to myself." Mirai took this opportunity to enjoy the night; the air was nice and cool, the stars were shining, it was just a nice night to just be outside. He hadn't really been able to enjoy a night like this in a while. "Even with this nice night," mirai told himself. "I'm getting bored." And with that, mirai got up and began to look for Ruby.
Originally posted by Terpischore Could you share a couple of examples with us please?
Well, Arkadyz pretty much saw what I saw. The only other examples I can remember is the girl singing the song in the beginning ('A Pirates' Life For Me') and the parrot saying "Dead Men Tell No Tales," though I forget which part that was in. EDIT: My sister also pointed out the man lying with the pigs as a part of the ride. I'm not sure if it was, but she's probably right.

"What's the problem?" mirai asked. "You can tell me." Mirai wondered what had happened to Ruby that made her have a problem looking at the stars. As it was, the night was quite beautiful. But mirai was worried about Ruby and if there was any way that he could help, he would. "Please tell me," mirai said. "Maybe I can help you."

I just saw this movie today and it is a fantastic piece of work! Everyone's pretty much pointed out everything I was gonna say; Johnny Depp is the highlight of the movie, the action is great, the movie looks good, etc. I also liked the little inside jokes that related to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland and Disneyworld. I thought that was a nice touch.

Hey, I like it! It looks really cool! Wherever Nintendo Land is, I sure wish I could find it.

To fight Giga Bowser, you have to beat Adventure Mode with three or less lives without continuing in under 18 minutes. To fight Crazy Hand, you have to do the same thing, but for Classic Mode (and I'm not sure if there's a time limit for this, but there probably is). If I'm right, then here's my question: In Nintendo Power's 100th issue, they published their 100 greatest games of all time list. What were the top five games in that list? Bonus for going as far as you can with the list.

"You know, I should thank you for dancing with me, too," mirai said. "Oh, it was nothing..." Ruby said. "But it meant something to me," mirai said. "I was kind of afraid of dancing and making a fool of myself, but I saw you dancing and it made me feel like I could dance, too." "Is that a compliment?" Ruby asked slyly. "Of course it is!" mirai said defensively. Then, he saw Ruby laughing and laughed along with her. He couldn't help it; it was very infectious.

The other day, I was listening to the radio and they were talking about all these different statistics that different scientists and researchers have come up with. Some of the odder ones I heard were that on average people blink 5,000 (or something like that - I don't remember the exact number) times a day and people swallow an average of eight spiders a year in their sleep. My question is, how the heck do these scientists and researchers come up with these stupid things?! Are they just making them up or what? And why are they wasting time with things like that when they could be doing more important things with their lives - they are scientists and researchers, after all!

Mirai continued to look at the shooting star. This was really the first time he'd seen a shooting star (besides in video games and movies, that is) and he thought that it was a beautiful sight. Mirai thought it odd that there were a whole bunch of romantic occurences happening during the course of the prom, but he disregarded his thought; after all, who was he to complain about all this when he was having a great time? "This is a really beautiful night," mirai commented. "I haven't seen the stars this well in a long time." Ruby smiled and nodded her head in agreeance. "As long as were on the subject of shooting stars in Final Fantasy games..." mirai said. "That star kinda reminded me of Final Fantasy VII when Cloud and the others were in Bugenhagen's replica of the universe. That was a really amazing scene; it's something that I'll never forget. Like this prom and the time that I've spent with you." Ruby laughed a little bit at mirai's slightly cheesy romantic sentiment and mirai laughed along with her. And why shouldn't they be laughing together? After all, they were both having a great night.

Ruby and mirai stepped outside. The sky was dark and the weather was cool and pleasant. Ruby and mirai sat down on a bench and watched the stars. "Wow, Ruby, this is a lot better," mirai said. "This sure is a nice place." "I knew you'd like it," Ruby said cheerfully. "Well, you were right," mirai said with a smile. "It's nice to just sit outside and take a look at the stars for a while." Mirai sighed contently. Here he was having fun with a person that he enjoyed talking to very much. All mirai could think about was how all was right with the world.

"It was just one of those things that hit me all of a sudden," mirai said. "With all the stuff going on around here, and an imagination as weird as mine, I would've been inspired eventually, I think." Then, mirai smiled at Ruby, closed his eyes and wondered if that statement sounded a bit egotistical. "Are you having a fun time?" Ruby asked. "Of course I am," mirai replied. "I've been having a great time ever since we started talking, Ruby. But it would be better if there wasn't so much rap in the background. It gets a little tiring after a while."

This'll be my last post for today; I have to get going. ~ Mirai wondered why Ruby wouldn't let him read her poem. Then, he remembered that he too was quite protective of his poetry until he saw fit that people could read it, so he knew where she was coming from. "That's okay," mirai said. "I'm sure it's a good poem, anyway. I can't wait to read it." Mirai then sat back and wondered if Xra would play any part in the poem. "Do you get a lot of inspiration just like that?" mirai asked. "Yeah," Ruby replied. "Sometimes you're just sitting down and then you're inspired. How about you?" "Sometimes it just comes and sometimes it takes a little longer for it to pop in my head," mirai said. "But it's always nice getting out of your head and into writing." Mirai sat back and a smile lit up his face. "What's with the grin?" Ruby asked. "I just got some inspiration," mirai said. "Funny how it comes when you least expect it to."
Originally posted by Na'dou I guess you can say I relate to people who like to talk about games....
Yeah, I think that's the only time when people talk to me that I won't shut up. Video games are my #1 favorite topic of conversation and it's even better when you're talking to someone who's just as enthusiastic, or, as is the case with a few people on the boards here, even more enthisastic about games than I am.

I rather like being alone; it gives me time to think. Sure, I like being around my friends, but when I'm alone it gives me the time to think about whatever I want. Being alone can be rather soothing.

The Tijuana episode from Season 1 when Dave his hanging out with the guys who cross the border is classic, too. When Dave was crossing the border and then going back into Tijuana was just like that one episode of the Simpsons when Homer was going from the U.S. territory to Austrailian territory.

Is it just me, or am I getting way into this. o_O ~ "Hmm..." mirai says. "That's a tough one." Between watching JCs band, seeing Taylor turn pink, running away from Xra, and dancing, this had already been a night to remember. "I'm not sure if I can think of anything that would be better than what we're doing right now." "So, what are you suggesting?" Ruby asked. "I say we just sit back and enjoy the rest of the night," mirai replied. "I mean, we've been moving around so much lately, it'd be nice to enjoy a quiet moment." "I like that idea," Ruby said. "Yeah, me too," mirai said. And with that, Ruby and mirai just sat back and started watching what was going on together.

Heh, I wish this sort of stuff would happen to me in real life. ~ Mirai turned a bright shade of red. This wasn't the way he usually handled compliments, but, then again, he wasn't really getting compliments from girls every day of the week. He smiled back at Ruby. "You're not too bad yourself," mirai replied as he and Ruby danced. A few people stopped to stare and a coupled snickered as they danced by, but who cares? If they have to stare and laugh at people to have fun, mirai thought then that's their problem. Soon, mirai and Ruby tired of dancing and sat back down in their chairs. "That was actually fun," mirai said. "Heh, I'm glad I got up and started dancing." "I'm having a lot of fun, too," Ruby replied. "I'm glad you danced with me." Again, mirai turned red. Receiving compliments about his writing and dancing were one thing, but a girl acknowledging that she had a good time with him was another. Again, anyone who knew him, knew that he was not the best at dealing with women. He thought that he had done an admirable job up to this point, but he was venturing to places that were unknown to him. Which confused him to no end. At that moment he thought he would give anything to know what Ruby was thinking. Of course, many guys over the years had made that prayer, and so far only Mel Gibson had gotten anything, not that he needed it. But mirai knew that his prayers would go unfounded, so he knew that he just had to wing it and play it cool. "So...er...what do you want to do now?" mirai asked Ruby.

Mirai was awestruck by the courage that Ruby showed by dancing, even when she admitted that she wasn't good at it. Well, hell mirai thought if she's gonna get up and dance, then I might as well have the decency to dance along with her. Then, mirai got up, and rolled his eyes at the cheesy comment he was about to make to Ruby (no joke, this is the first thing that popped into my head - I'm such a dork lol). "Sure, I'll dance with you," mirai said. "Heck, if we're both bad at dancing, we might as well be bad at dancing together. At least we'll have some fun, right?" "Right. See, you finally understand!" Ruby said. Mirai looked confused. "Understand what?" he asked. "You understand that it's not that you can dance, but that you have fun," Ruby told him. "Oh, that!" mirai said. "Of course I understand! It's not like I was...afraid or anything..." And with that, mirai and Ruby got up and started to dance. ~ [Note: Not a part of RPG] Everyone do it with me: Awwwwwwwwwwww......

Again, I am so behind the news. I mean, I knew of this game and I read the cover story in EGM like 15 times, but I hadn't seen the actual game in motion until a couple of days ago. All I can say is: wow. This game looks incredible! The graphics are truly amazing and a real testament to what the GameCube is capable of. This game looks much better than Rogue Squadron 2 (and that's no big feat, because the original GameCube Rogue Squadron was drop dead gorgeous). The gameplay looks good, although I'll still have to wait on that. But if does have the same great controls as Rogue Squadron 2 (with improvements, of course) then the gameplay should be even better than the graphics because just looking at what this game will have you do has reawakened the Star Wars geek lying dormant inside of me. The branching off in levels sounds cool. You know, if you play as Wedge, you play in mostly flying levels and if you play as Luke, you play in mostly land based levels. That is very cool. And all that stuff they'll have you do as Luke is nothing short of amazing. Come on, who hasn't wanted to rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star? I'm also jazzed about the co-op version of Rogue Squadron 2 that's in this game. One of my friends told me that's the sole reason he's getting this game, and I can't blame him (well, I can blame him for ignoring everything else about the game). Just imagine if LucasArts took it a step further. Like during the Death Star level; you'd have one person play as Luke, going down the trench to blow up the Death Star, and another person could play as Darth Vader trying to stop him. And just imagine, if more than two people can play, as I have heard, a third person can join in as Han Solo and prevent Darth Vader from killing Luke! The possiblities are nearly endless! The only thing that disappoints me about this game is that I heard that there won't be any Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker lightsaber battles. After hearing everything that this game was gonna let you do, that was kind of a letdown, but I still can't wait for this game to come out. It's gonna be awesome!

mirai looked down at the tempting cup of punch. He knew it was spiked, but he was so thirsty, and the punch started to take on the shape of an oasis... "Come on, mirai," Taylor said. "Just drink it. I only spiked it with Coke! Coca-Cola, that is. Get your minds out of the gutter, people." "Yeah, but that doesn't make me really want to drink it." mirai replied. "It tastes good! I've drunk it a million times!" Taylor assured mirai. Mirai just stared at Taylor and then figured, why not? It's just punch and coke after all. So then, mirai took a big swig of punch. "This is actually...pretty good!" Mirai looked over at Ruby. "You sure you don't want some? It's pretty good." "No thank you. I'm not really thirsty," she replied. "Well, that's okay. I won't force you to drink it, if you don't want to," mirai said. Then, he looked over at the DJ section. Sure JCs bass player was DJing for now, but for how much longer? What if someone got a hold of it and actually played some music that mirai (God forbid) would have to dance to?! Mirai was sweating nervously over the thought of him dancing. As people who know him in real life are aware, mirai is not the best of dancers. "What's wrong?" Ruby asked. "Er...nothing," mirai replied. "Nothing's wrong at all."

Dave Attell is just hilarious and he's one of the best comedians of today. Comedy Central seems to have a stockpile of great comedians, what with Jon Stewart and his gang, Colin Quinn, and Dave Attell.

Note: I might not respond for a while, because I'm getting off soon. I just don't have the stamina for RPGs that I used to lol. ~ Mirai smiled back at Ruby. He didn't like to admit it, as proms were not his most favorite of things, but he was having a very good time. "Yeah, a pink werewolf is the last thing we'd want to deal with." mirai looks over at JC and his band. "They've been going on for a while now," mirai noted. "Exactly how long has it been since they took over?" "I don't know," Ruby replied. "I'm surprised he hasn't broken his voice by now with all that singing." "Yeah, he must be a pro at this." Mirai looked at his watch. A couple hours had passed and he hadn't even noticed! The last time he went to something like this, in middle school, it had been awful. "You know, Ruby," mirai started, "I'm having a really good time, even with Xra turning into a werewolf and Taylor foaming at the mouth." "It's been an exciting night, that's for sure," Ruby replied. "This has been one of the most fun nights I've ever had," mirai said. "Though, that's not a surprise; I don't really get out of the house much." Mirai looked over at Ruby. "So, how's your night been?"

I'd have to say personality. It's just like choosing your friends: are you going to choose your friends based on how "hot" they are or are you going to choose them based on their personalities? When you're dating someone, they're basically going to be a friend (except moreso, I guess) and you can only look at them so much before you get bored with them. If they have a good personality (and if you have a good personality, too) then hopefully, you hit it off and have a good time. EDIT: That's not to say looks don't matter, either, because that's really the first thing you usually notice about a person. Darn it, I should've voted for both!

"That's an understatement." Ruby whispered back to mirai. Mirai laughed and then looked back over a Taylor. "Maybe we should get him out of here," mirai told Ruby. "I've never seen Xra like this before; I don't know what he's capable of." "Yeah," Ruby replied as they dragged Taylor out, who was still clutching his pink marker like a madman. "I'd rather take my chances out with the others, than with a werewolf." Ruby and mirai set Taylor back onto the floor, get a couple of chairs and sit down. Mirai looks over at Ruby and makes the understatement of the night. "Weird night, huh?"
