September 7th - 8:45 AM Jessica slept soundly in her warm, comforting bed. The soft linens of her covers soothed her skin, and the fluffiness of her pillows cradled her head at a perfect angle. This was easily the best sleep that Jessica had gotten in years. "Jessica, wake up!" Mitsuko yelled, bursting through the door. "You're going to be late for school!" Jessica woke up sharply, looking back and forth with the increased awareness that comes from being rudely awakened. She soon settled back down and went into the groggy stage that follows thereafter. "What do you mean 'I'll be late for school...'?" Jessica asked. "It's Sunday...there's no school today..." "That's not what the calendar says!" Mitsuko sang, pointing at the calendar. The camera panned in closer in slow motion, and circled around the paper laying on the ground like a vulture. The paper read 'September 6th'. "You mean I slept all day yesterday?!" Jessica yelled, not really believing it herself. "Yep," Mitsuko said, nodding. "Not that I really remember you sleeping in all day, myself, but the calendar has never steered us wrong before..." Jessica sighed heavily, knowing that she wouldn't be able to win. After rushing a still confused Mitsuko out of her room, Jessica changed into her normal garb. An auspicious start to what was already guaranteed to be an interesting week. If Jessica hadn't been wary before, she was certainly wary now. "Something fishy is going on around here," Jessica muttered to herself. "And if I gave a crap about it, I might try and find out what it is. But I don't, so who cares?" After making sure her appearance was just the way she wanted it to be (because even horribly depressing people like Jessica needed to make sure that their appearance was just right), Jessica strolled out of her room, gloomy as ever, and left for school.

I thought that I'd already posted in here. Well, let's give it a whirl, then... I'm eighteen years old (nineteen in November) and I live in Southern California, where, thank god, the heat seems to be dying down a bit. I hate our summers with a passion. I graduated high school this past year, and I'll be going to Cal Poly Pomona and majoring in journalism. Should be okay as long as the school doesn't drive me away with all their crap beforehand. As for my interests...mostly entertainment in general. Reading, writing, video games, television (though not nearly as much as when I was younger), movies, music (far more than when I was younger) and other assorted things. On OB, you'll most likely find me at Play It, though I visit just about every forum we have. After Play It, I probably hang around the Adventure Square the most, followed closely by Music, Movies and TV and Anime Lounge. But, yeah, Play It is where the majority of my posts end up going. I just like talking about video games a lot, I suppose.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the crowd. People seem to be split on the crowd, too. On the one hand, you have people who say that the crowd can react however they want, because they paid for their tickets. To me, that's all well and good, but people have to admit that the crowd did take away from the matches, somewhat. A really hot crowd can really add a ton to a match, and a really listless crowd can suck the life out of a match. Unfortunately, the Summerslam crowd took the latter route.

I agree with Dagger. The only reason I was holding back on posting was that my character was pretty much done for the day. I was just waiting on someone to start up the next day so that I could begin my routine again. I think you're obviously the best candidate for defining when the next day starts and all that, heh. Put some control into this RP, Solo! :p -
Perhaps that worked in the old days, as you say, but I have to remind everyone that the boards have changed incredibly in the last couple years they've been up. I'm not about to say that I've been here the entire time and I've seen it all, but in the year that I have been here, I've noticed a difference. That's going to happen, whether you want it to or not. The rules that worked then are not going to work now because of that. RPGs themselves are becoming more creative, and their creators on the whole have been putting a lot more time and effort. They're also opening up their ideas to a lot more people and letting a larger number of members participate. How is this not a good thing? Yes, there will always be a few of those simple, easy RPGs, and yes, there will probably always be spam, as much as I hate to think about it. But as terra mentioned, members have been improving and that's awesome. If you encourage and help them, you can look forward to more of that. But if you continue to belittle them and cut them down, then what else can you expect but spam and flames and the like? On a slightly different note, I think that the amount of 'spammy RPGs' hasn't actually changed that much. Sometimes there's a little more of it, sometimes there's a little less. When there aren't a lot of high quality RPGs in the Inn, then you're bound to notice the low quality ones a little more. Give it a couple weeks and things will be back to 'normal'.
Exactly. I wasn't around in the 'old days' but I don't think that I would be wrong in guessing that there are more high quality RPers at OtakuBoards at this point in time than ever before. OB's membership grows and grows with each passing day, and I'm more than certain that there are more great RPers now than there were when I first joined OB. Of course there are going to be 'bad' RPGs or whatever in the Arena. It's a given, and I've seen terra and Arcadia take the initiative in there and let people know when their RPGs aren't up to snuff. I can say with full confidence that both of them have done nothing but good for the Arena, honestly. Also, I've been impressed with plenty of the newer members lately (I don't mod here, but I do frequent the area quite a bit, by the way). In Apartment Building C, I let in a couple of newer members over some more 'established' RPers, simply because they impressed me more, and I didn't regret it in the least (both are still contributing well to the RPG, which means I need to get my act in gear lol). Again, there are going to be newer members who aren't up to standards or whatever in every section. However, they won't stay forever; the majority of them end up leaving after a short time from what I've noticed. Higher quality members come in with the lower quality members, and the members of high quality are the members who end up staying, most of the time. There's no doubt about that in my mind, really.

The reaction to Summerslam has been pretty mixed from what I've seen. Most people, though, seem to be a bit disappointed with the show, especially since a lot of matches seemed to be rushed. Eddy/Kurt, Cena/Booker and Hardy/Kane were three matches in particular that people seemed to be disappointed with, though the consensus seems to be that Eddy/Kurt was still good. Orton's championship run is inspiring a lot of heated debate from what I've seen. Personally, I think that a nice two to three month feud with Chris Benoit would have worked wonders for Orton. I think that having Orton win the belt at Survivor Series would have been a better choice, though I'm of the opinion that Orton will have at least a successful title run. But if the WWE is planning on having Orton face Triple H at Wrestlemania XXI for the title, and Triple H is seemingly feuding with Orton right now, it makes me wonder how the creative team is going to keep that fresh until that time. I'm optimistic, though. I hope they can pull it off.

I'll be attending college this year. My school starts pretty late compared to the dates the rest of you seem to be starting at - I start class September 20th, I believe. That, however, is offset by my release, which happens around the end of June. So, yeah, the rest of you can be complacent in the fact that you'll be getting out earlier than I will be :p And I'm sort of excited about it and sort of dreading it, mostly because of how everyone scares you into thinking college is the hardest thing in the world. I don't think I'll have that tough a time with it, but I'll definitely be working harder than I did in high school, which is pretty much a given since I never really worked that hard in high school in the first place.

Gaming Most tragic video game character deaths...
Shinmaru replied to mononoke_man's topic in Noosphere
Argh...guess I'll come in here once again and remind people to use spoiler tags. Whenever you give away a secret or a spoiler for a game or whatever, USE THE SPOILER TAGS. That way, other people will not accidently see them if they don't want to. [*spoiler] your text here [*/spoiler] is how you use the spoiler tags, except you do not use the * when you use the actual tags. Got it? Good. Use them, please. -
Just PM Charles or James, tell them what you would like your username to be changed to, and they'll do it.

September 5th - 3:45 PM (15:45 PM) Jessica sauntered lazily into the dining area. A small table lay in the middle of the room, with Shinny and Mitsuko huddled around it, white bowls in front of them. Jessica's bowl was at her usual spot at the table, in between Mitsuko and Shinny who sat on opposite sides. Jessica sat down, legs underneath, and looked down crossly at the strange concoction floating around in the bowl in front of her. "What is this?" Jessica asked, her face scrunched up in disgust. "Well," Mitsuko asked, her stare very blank. "I'm actually not sure, myself...I got the recipe out of a magazine, but I can't seem to remember the name of the recipe at the moment..." Jessica looked extremely fed up for a moment, then decided to give in and start eating. As soon as she put one spoonful of goop into her mouth, however, she immediately wished that she had thrown a giant tantrum and dumped it all on Shinny's head. "Ugh," Jessica said, sticking out her tongue. "This crap tastes worse than it smells!" "I'm glad you like it!" Mitsuko said, completely oblivious to Jessica's complaints. "How do you like it, Shinny?" "Uh," Shinny said. "I think it tastes great! Yeah." Jessica frowned at Shinny. He was obviously angling for something from Mitsuko, because he didn't usually go the brown nose route. Jessica decided that she would have to remain on her guard for a while. What she didn't know is that she wouldn't have to remain that way for very long. "I hear that there's a party on Friday, Jessica," Mitsuko said. Jessica choked on some tea that she had been drinking. How did she know about that?! Jessica thought to herself. She immediately glanced at Shinny, who, of course, was looking perfectly 'innocent'. She knew exactly who had spilled the beans to Mitsuko. "Really...? That's news to me," Jessica stammered. "I think it would be great if you took Shinny along with you to this party," Mitsuko offered. "What?!" Jessica yelled. "I can't take him to the party, I'm already among the lowest of the low on the social scale! Not that I care, or anything, but still! I can't take him along with me!" "But he really wants to go," Mitsuko pouted. "You're older than him and you should be setting an example for him." "You're acting like my mother or something," Jessica sniffed. "As far as you're concerned, I am your mother," Mitsuko replied. Jessica frowned heavily. Her stomach was now feeling extremely ill. Jessica got up and began to walk slowly out of the room. "Where are you going?" Mitsuko asked. "I'm going to the bathroom," Jessica growled. "I got sick all of a sudden." "Hurry up," Shinny said. "I really, really have to go!" Jessica stayed in the bathroom for an hour. September 15th - 10:30 PM (22:30 PM) Jessica lay on her side in her bed. Her stomach was feeling slightly better, but she was still a bit ill, mostly stemming from the 'revelation' that she would be forced to have Shinny accompany her to the party. "It's not fair," Jessica said, muttering to herself. "And people wonder why I'm so surly and dramatic all the time...I'd like to see them take all this crap. Ugh. And to imagine that I thought I might actually have a semi-enjoyable time at a party for once." Jessica sighed heavily and stared up at the roof. "I just don't understand. What does the world have against me? Why am I made to be put through so much crap? I just wish things were a little different..." And, on that highly depressing note, Jessica went to sleep.

I'm glad you cleared up the issue of the party (I'm sure what day it was supposed to be was mentioned in one of DeathBug's posts, I probably just missed it like an idiot). The way a couple of people were posting, I thought it was going to be on that very Saturday lol. So, yeah, I'm no longer confused about that or anything. -
I just put my whole list together just because I'm calling it my favorites, rather than my definitive top ten cartoons list or whatever. I agree with you and Sciros that comedies and action can't be compared together very well, heh. Basically, my list just runs through how much I like them, even though that involves a comparison of some sort, however light it is. Anyway, I feel bad now for forgetting both Tiny Toon Adventures and Fairly OddParents. Especially Tiny Toons, since I really loved it a lot when I was a kid. It was a pretty smart show that appealed to both kids and adults alike. I really like it a lot when I can watch shows that I loved when I was younger and still enjoy them quite a bit. Fairly OddParents is also very good, and probably the only reason I even bother to watch Nickelodeon at all anymore, since I don't really care for anything else that the channel has to offer (Nicktoons TV, on the other hand...). Just very funny, consistent stuff there.

As much as I absolutely love you for ranking Futurama way ahead of Family Guy, there should be some explanation going into these lists, or else people are just posting inane lists (sorry if I'm butting into your job, Manic, heh). Anyway, I always have a tough time with these lists, because I know that I'm always forgetting something and people will always get pissy and yell about how I ranked so and so above whatever else. But eh.

The Simpsons
Batman: The Animated Series
Futurama
Rocko's Modern Life
Freakazoid!
Family Guy
Earthworm Jim
Pinky and the Brain
Animaniacs
The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3
These aren't what I'd call the greatest of all-time, but these are my top-ten favorite cartoons. Honorable mentions go The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, Super Mario World, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the original series, not the new one), Angry Beavers and Spider-Man (the one that ran on Fox in the 90s). Most of my choices are comedies, except for Batman, which was a pretty groundbreaking (and incredible looking) action series. A lot of the comedies I like are either satirical, pretty random or both. I love The Simpsons the most, since, at least in the early days, the show was adept at just about any form of comedy, and perfected the well-worn bit of being a smart show, while being stupid at the same time. It's just brilliant. Batman, as mentioned earlier, I love because it looks incredible and really captures the feel of the comics amazingly well. It was never goofy or anything, it was just balls-out Batman, which is always fun. Futurama and Rocko both rock, and are pretty underrated, I think. Freakazoid! was always a favorite of mine, Family Guy is always solid and Earthworm Jim (as short lived as it was) always had me laughing; it would probably be a bit higher on my list if the series hadn't been so short. Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs were both very funny series, and I have to admit that The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was more a nostalgia choice than anything else.

Of the games I've played released this year (a number which is far less than I would like), my favorite is The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. I was pretty sold on it in the beginning, when I could only play it single-player, and I enjoyed it a lot more than other games I've played recently. However, the multiplayer experience is what really makes the game excellent, and I'd definitely place it in the upper echelon of multiplayer games available on the GameCube. Very solid game all around. I guess an honorable mention would go to Metroid: Zero Mission even though I was slightly disappointed with the game. However, it's definitely a solid adventure and a worthy addition to the Metroid series. A bit too easy, but it still makes for a plenty fun ride. However, there are a few games coming out later on this year that I'm expecting to easily trump both games I mentioned just now...

September 5th - 3:15 PM (15:15 PM) The lights in her room were dimmed, and her shades were drawn. Jessica lay back in her bed on a pillow, hands clasped tightly behind her head, listening to some music streaming from her mp3 player. When Jessica was feeling particularly moody, she always found it quite soothing to lay down and listen to music. It calmed her nerves, reminded her that she was still among the living, and other such morbid thoughts. Before the next eerily calming song could start, however, Jessica's roommate burst into her room waving some kind of pink flyer that he was grasping in his hand. "What do you want?" Jessica sneered, turning off her mp3 player in annoyance. "Can't you see that I want to be alone right now?" "There's no time to be alone!" Shinny screeched. "There's parties to be had!" "...parties?" Jessica asked quizically. "Yes, parties!" Shinny yelled excitedly. "Take a look at this!" He shoved the flyer into Jessica's face. "...I can't read the flyer when it's shoved against my nose, you know," Jessica said flatly. "I'm sorry, your majesty," Shinny said, placing annoyingly thick sarcasm upon the words 'your majesty'. "I'll try to be more careful next time." Jessica grabbed the flyer out of his hand and stared down at it for a few moments. "A costume party?" Jessica asked. "That's what it says," Shinny said. "You can read, right?" "Of course I can read, stupid," Jessica replied, shoving the flyer into Shinny's gut. Shinny let out a slight moan of pain, while Jessica turned over in her bed. "I don't do parties." "Your loss," Shinny said, rolling his eyes. "I guess you can just stay all antisocial and depressing if you want to. Meanwhile, I'm gonna score me some chicks! Not that I'd have any trouble with that, anyway. It's just, at the party, I'd have the pick of the litter." Jessica stared at him with the utmost contempt, but Shinny paid her no real notice. He turned tail and left the room, not bothering to close Jessica's door behind them. This really pissed Jessica off, and she knew that he had planned on that. If there was anything that Jessica hated, it was when people didn't close doors behind them when they left a room. "Snot-nose brat," Jessica sniffed. "Maybe I will go to this party after all..." She looked down on the floor, where Shinny had conveniently left the pink flyer. On it was every detail of the party, down to where the party was actually taking place and at what time it started. "Perfect." "Oh, Jeeeeeeeeeesssssssicaaaaaaaa," Mitsuko sang. "It's tiiiiiiiime for diiiiiiiner!" "...ugh," Jessica replied simply, climbing out of bed and leaving her room. She closed the door behind her. September, 5th - 3:30 PM (15:30 PM)
2.)Alucard, Son of Dracula. Played by Zidargh. Post Background: [i']Grey
Well, at least my character made it into the RPG :p Serioiusly, though, I can't wait to post in this, as I really like the concept. And I'm liking the grey background, since it fits my character more than the red background ever could lol.

Storyline-wise, the whole debacle with
returning to the Shin-Ra mansion to get the whole flashback with Cloud and Zack
remains my biggest complaint about FFVII's storyline. I really do think that FFVII had a good storyline, but if Square hadn't have half-assed that particular part of the game, then the story wouldn't confuse half as many people as it currently does, honestly.
I agree with you on that. It was just some intuition thing I had that I needed to return to the mansion because I realised I hadn't explored the bottom and always wondered why [spoiler']Vincent was in that coffin.

Stuff like this is how I stumbled upon that particular part. My first time through the mansion, I didn't really take the time to search around the mansion or anything, so I'd left a lot of stuff missing (such as the
monster in the safe
and some of the other items strewn throughout the rooms in the mansion). For all I know, that might be how Square planned for people to find it, but that's a pretty lazy, haphazard way of going about things. EDIT: I just don't want any complaints from people lol. It doesn't seem sort of hypocritical to spoiler that information, though, doesn't it? XD Oh well, people can always highlight the spoiler tags, anyway lol. That way, if they find out the info, they can't complain because it's their own fault.

OOC: I was going to write this post tomorrow, but I'm not feeling that tired at the moment, so I'm writing it right now. Yay! September 5th - 2:15 PM (14:15 PM) Jessica walked away from the school, a slow grimace forming itself on her face. She figured that since most of the other kids were currently creaming themselves over their living areas there wouldn't be any real classes taking place that day. And since there were no classes taking place, there would be no real need for Jessica to be at school any longer, correct? Correct. With her hands thrusted firmly in the pockets of her black skirt, Jessica shuffled along the sidewalk, kicking several stray rocks out of her path and being a general menace to any animal that dared cross her path. After a few moments of walking, she made it to the apartment building that she called home, but she did not feel like going home just yet. Her guardian would not be home at the moment, anyway, only her amazingly annoying male roommate. Not that her guardian was much better, but at least she could relate with her on some level. Men were just impossible, it seemed. Jessica took a cursory glance around the area and spotted a nice, big tree with a fairly large patch of shade cast underneath it. She strolled over to the shade and curled up under the tree, fully intending to rest only for a moment or so. Her eyes were slightly tired and they could stand a bit of rest. Before Jessica knew it, however, she was more asleep than a group of kids after one of Principal Okari's grand speeches. She slept lightly under the tree for a slight amount of time, at which time she woke up after hearing the rustling of two kids walking through some leaves. "Oh crap!" one of the kids squealed to his partner in crime. "She's awake!" "Run for it!" the other child yelled. The two kids turned tail and ran, leaving Jessica pondering just what the hell they were going to do if she had stayed asleep. However, she shrugged it off, got up, dusted off her clothing, and made her way over to her apartment building and up the stairs to her apartment. Jessica knocked lightly on the door and a sing-song female voice answered her knock in reply. "Who is it?" the voice asked. "It's me, Jessica!" Jessica yelled. "I'm back from school!" "That's wonderful," the voice said, and the door opened. Jessica found herself staring at Mitsuko, her legal guardian. Tall, blue-haired and voluptuous, with a pair of glasses that set off the hormones of many a confessed nerd, you never would have guessed that she was a total and complete failure in every single romantic relationship that she had attempted to partake in during her life. "Come right in, I'm going to be making dinner in a few moments!" Jessica shuddered. Mitsuko's dinners were not a thing you looked forward to, mostly because you had no idea what strange concoction you would be getting. Her dishes could either be amazingly delicious or worse than the most acidic poison in existance. Jessica was about to close the door behind her, when she heard a pleading voice yell at her to keep the door open. Jessica groaned and rolled her eyes; it was a voice that she knew all too well. "Jeez," her roommate Shinny said disgustedly. "At least you heard me this time!" Shinny wormed his way into the apartment, squeezing his overly skinny frame through the doorway. Once he was safely inside, he ran a quivering hand through his stringy brown hair and sat down on the floor, after removing his shoes. "What are we going to have for dinner, Mitsuko?" Shinny asked. "I'll keep that a surprise," Mitsuko said with a flirtatious wink, and Jessica rolled her eyes yet again. "Why I don't move out, I just don't know..." Jessica muttered to herself, finally closing the door behind her. September 5th - 3:00 PM (15:00 PM) OOC: I'm basically only going to use Mitsuko and Shinny for times when Jessica is at home, and during parent conferences (if there is such a thing at this school, anyway).

It's a bit late here, but a sign-up just popped in my head right now...I hope I'm not too late lol. I'll edit this with the background thingy later on. Name: Alucard, Son of Dracula Approximate Age: It seems that I've forgotten exactly how old I am (and I don't like giving out my age to strangers), but know that I am centuries old. *notices that his resume picture gives away his age* Oh, bother. Picture: I've attached a very refined and sophisticated photo of myself at the end of this resume. Personality: Like any other son of a vampire lord, I've been tormented by years of neglect. Twice I've fought against my father, yet he still refuses to admit that I'm ready to take my position at the head of the family! Who does he think he is?! ...ahem. Anyway, I'm a thoughtful, intelligent man capable of holding conversation with the both the brightest and most dim of what mankind has to offer (how else do you explain my partnership with Trevor Belmont?). I'm very quiet by nature, not because I have nothing to say, but because I just don't feel like saying that much a lot of the time. I also have an upstanding sense of honor and I fight intensely for what I believe in, especially when my enemy is a certain dirty, pasty-white lechering vampire lord who shall remain nameless. Though I prefer working on my own, I will work with others easily enough, as evidenced by the Castlevania games that I have appeared in. I can easily adapt to most any situation, so working with other people is not a problem at all. Background: At first I was worried, because the application only called for 8 and 16-bit characters - of course, I was extremely outraged at this act of extreme prejudice against the new generation of video game characters. As many people know, my most famous outing was the PlayStation's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night...however, after a few moments, I remembered that I was in the NES's Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Though a less refined game than my PSX outing, it will do for purposes of this application. (Ha! Loophole!) It was one hundred years before Simon Belmont's birth. I was forced to work with a two-bit, nonsensical vampire hunter named Trevor Belmont in order to get a crack at my father. What made the whole thing worse is that I was relegated to being a partner spirit in the game! A partner spirit! Me, the great Alucard, he who has many, many amazing powers at his disposal, made to bend to the will of a lowly vampire hunter! But we still beat the crap out of my father, so I suppose it was all worth it. Anyway, the whole adventure was standard NES fare. Trevor hopped, skipped and jumped his way through levels and milked me for my amazingly deadly powers whenever possible. In a sense, I was the real hero of the game, though Trevor Belmont got all of the credit because he was the 'hero'. Some things never change. So I guess I want to work here in order to make a name for myself, and prove that I don't have to team with filthy vampire hunters in order to get something done. I tell you, getting heckled by the ignorant masses gets increasingly tiring every day, especially when they all think I've worked with Simon Belmont. If you're going to heckle someone, at least take the time to get the facts straight! Skills/Qualifications: I think the question should be 'what skills and/or qualifications don't I have'? I have the ability to wield several different offensive, defensive and healing spells, I am a master of several different types of weaponry (as long as I have enough heart power at hand to use them, that is), I level up amazingly quickly (which means I can learn on the job faster than others) and I am devistatingly handsome, if I do say so myself. Homeplace: I'm always on the go, though I suppose my 'home' would be my father's (ugh) castle in Transylvania. Game Appearance(s): Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES), Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PlayStation) Post Background Preference: Red. I hope the sign-up was good enough, heh. Sorry for waiting so long, but nothing was coming to me for a while, haha. This literally came to me less than twenty minutes ago. EDIT: Edited the background into my sign-up.
I haven't played any games recently that have made me want to go online. The last game that I did go online with was PSO on the GameCube, since then nothing has gotten my interest enough to warrant another good reason to return to online play.
Same here. I'm sure that there will be a few games released eventually that will really make me want to make the leap into online play, but it's not really happening for me right now. Of the major consoles out right now, the only one I don't have is a PS2. Both my Game Boy Advance and XBox libraries are a bit lacking, for various reasons (most of which include me getting GameCube releases over any GBA or XBox titles I might be interested in). So, yeah, my favorite of the consoles right now is the GameCube. There are quite a few interesting games coming out in the near future for all the systems I own, but I'm looking forward to the GameCube releases most of all, especially Resident Evil 4, Paper Mario 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The strong future and the large amount of great games I currently have on my GameCube (I have a pretty substantial library lol) is enough for me to declare the GameCube my favorite of the consoles currently on the market. However, I do agree with Tony about all the awesome PS2 RPGs coming out. Makes me more than a bit jealous of all the PS2 owners, heh.

My favorite of the series is definitely VI. Firstly, for sentimental reasons (it was the first Final Fantasy game I played) and also because it's the FF game whose gameplay I've enjoyed the most. I agree with Desbreko when he says that it's the most well-rounded game in the series. One of my major complaints with VII is that the battles are terribly slow (to me, anyway). VI's battles are a bit speedier and IX's (my second favorite game in the series) battles are much faster and more streamlined. When you're spending at least half the game battling, then it's to your benefit to have a battle system in your hands that's not slow lol. VI's characters are also another strong point for the game. The story is fairly basic, but it's worth paying attention to because of the wealth of different characters and personalities you come into contact with during the game. And it's not just on the heroes side, too...Kefka was the last truly interesting Final Fantasy villain, character-wise, in my opinion. I also liked the whole feel of FFVI - it feels like you're going on a real adventure throughout the game, with the combination of the character's personalities and the rousing music. You just get a great feeling throughout the game. Keep in mind that I've not played any FF games before V or after IX, so my opinions on Final Fantasy games are a tad "incomplete" you might say, heh.

OOC: Haha, thanks for introducing my character, Dagger :) Also, if it's okay with you, Solo, I'm going to be including an ending time, as well...it won't really affect posts by any other person, I just like to know what schedule my character is working on lol. September 5th - 11:55 AM Jessica continued scowling to herself as she watched the students move to and fro, some still bumbling around what little food was left along the tables, others gathering near one of the many exits around the room, jostling with each other in order to gain access to the front of the group. It seemed that everyone wanted to get to their designated living areas as quickly as possible. The fools. Jessica thrust her hands into her pockets, grimacing all the while, and she began a slow march towards one of the few exits that was relatively unoccupied. When she reached the small group of students gathered near the far exit of the building, she began a surly expedition out of the building. One student was shoved by a black-fingernailed hand, whilst another was booted in the ass by a shiny, black boot. Since her steel-toed boots had been outlawed by school decree late last year, the oblivious Freshman Jessica had kicked had not sustained that much damage. However, as small as any physical injuries he incurred might have been, one could not underestimate the far-reaching effects getting kicked in the ass by a girl could unleash upon a person's social status. In other words, this boy would be made fun of. A lot. And he would cry like a baby. Jessica eventually plunged her way out of the crowd and into the barren pathway. Through some school-related miracle, Takahashi had managed to keep most of the kids out of the area, and inside of the reception hall. Jessica began sneaking towards the flats, a slight grin spread across her face. Rebellion, even in slight doses, was always fun. However, after a few steps, a thought came into Jessica's mind. "Why isn't Takahashi coming after me?" Jessica wondered aloud. "Rebellion isn't as fun when you can get away with it really easily." She stepped forward again, and stopped just as quickly, realizing her idiotic mistake, and slapping her hand harshly against her forehead. "Damn it, I don't have a flat here, and Takahashi knows it!" Dejected, and embarrassed at her stupidity, Jessica trudged glumly back towards the reception hall. Inside, a group of kids were chatting near one of the many tables. One of the doors leading to the reception hall opened, flooding the room with white light. A graceful, shadowy figure walked through the light, swinging her hair seductively behind her as she entered the room. The jaws of just about every adolescent male in the room dropped towards the ground, as this beautiful specimen of female paraded through the room, her hips swaying back and forth alluringly. The young woman turned to face all the boys in the room and winked gaily at them. Her eyes sparkled with beauty, and glitter emanated from her very being, driving home that point. Every boy licked their chops as she walked by. Then, the door opened again and Jessica walked back into the room. Though very beautiful in her own right, she was only pursued by a scant few people in the school. She was immediately ignored. "Oh, how poorly fate treats me!" Jessica yelled, her face pointing skyward and her right arm thrust out dramatically in front of her. A lone spotlight shone from the roof onto Jessica. "To be at once idolized by the lowliest of men, yet shunned by the same people! How cruel is the fate of a woman, when she is forced to live up to the impossibly high standards of a male dominated society? How much can one woman take? How much?!" With that, Jessica bowed onto one knee, holding her face in her hands and sobbing quietly. However, when Jessica looked back up, everyone was gone. She looked at her watch...12:05 PM. The students were now likely checking out their living areas. "Little bastards never listen when I make a big speech!" Jessica growled to herself, running outside. September 5th - 12:05 PM EDIT: Note, the first girl who walked into the reception hall is just some random girl I made up, not really one of the other ASHS students.

Shinmaru replied to Solo Tremaine's topic in Theater
Shinmaru: Off-campus, I think...
Yeah, off-campus. I'm not sure exactly how much I'll be developing the goings on at Jessica's apartment. I guess we'll have to see how much I post on free days lol. I just hope I'm correct in assuming that free days are spent at the student's homes and at other establishments (mall, fast-food joints, etc.). I know it's probably obvious, but I just want to make sure, haha. And I'll get to posting right now. I've been raring to post in this since I got home, heh. -
I merged the threads. Before you create a thread on a game, run a quick search of the forum to make sure that there isn't already a thread on the game. Shouldn't take more than a minute or so, heh. And, yeah, I'd say that this thread is proof enough that there's a Devil May Cry 3 lol.
