Heh, I think the long wait was definitely worth it, Solo ^_^ Describing the birth of the boards like the Nativity scene was a stroke of genius, I thought, and made for cool chapter, heh. Plus, the song was absolutely fantastic. Easy to set a tune to and it got stuck in my head, heh. Luckily, I liked the song so that's not big deal lol. I'm looking forward to the next part ^_^

I never really thought of Super Mario RPG as really being underrated...from what I've seen, the game has always gotten the praise that it deserves both critically and from gamers. But, I suppose you may live in a different gaming environment than me, heh...for all I know there could be people bashing Super Mario RPG left and right where you live lol.

Art Movie: Super Otaku Brothers (Rated PG-13)
Shinmaru replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
Hehe...awesome, awesome stuff, Gavynn. The whole thing was absolutely funny. I especially liked the ending lol. Nice to see that Bowser can actually get something good, heh. And what was up with that stuff with Bert and Ernie? Made no sense at all o_O; -
I've been a big Peanuts fan for years, heh. I still read the comics in the paper, even though they're basically repeats now. Occasionally, I'll check the Peanuts books out at the local library, since they have a pretty good collection. Personally, besides Snoopy, my favorite was always Linus. I mean, the kid carried around the damn blanket and sucked his thumb without any thought of what everyone thought about him. That's gotta count for something, at least.

Well, seeing as I wasn't around for the good old days as it were, I only have my impressions of OB as it is today to go on. Honestly, I don't find it too difficult to remember who people are, because the same people are usually on when I'm on. I rarely go into a thread and find myself not knowing who a person is unless they've just registered within the past few days. Most people post often enough that I know who they are, anyway. Obviously, I don't know whom everyone is since I don't go to every section of OtakuBoards, but I know who people are more often than not. Anyway, OtakuBoards isn't so enormous that nobody can get a few close friends...that'd just be silly. lol

Well, I don't have much experience with Photoshop (or actual drawing for that matter lol), but I think this looks good. The coloring seems good to me; no real spots where the coloring seems off or anything. I particulary like the eyes. I think they look really nice ^_^ As for the shading...well, I'm not really an expert or anything, but I think you did a good job. The chin is a little too pointed for my tastes but, then again, you can never be too sure whether that was done on purpose. lol Overall, I think it's good work, Dagger ^_^
Originally posted by Crusader Go here. http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27992
It would have been best to answer this question via PM; using a thread about Mario Party 5 to just post an answer to that question is against the rules. Methinks the both of you need to pay attention the them better next time, heh. Thanks.
Originally posted by Midogel I got it through a subscription to Nintendo power. Twas a great deal, $20 for a year subscrption and the disc! I'm not sure though, if it's offered everywhere.
The offer to get The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition via Nintendo Power subscription is, according to Nintendo's webpage, available only in United States and Canada, since those are the only countries where subscriptions to Nintendo Power are available. I'm not sure whether official Nintendo publications in other countries may be holding a similar offer, but it's possible. I think that the offer to get Zelda: Collector's Edition with a GCN may available in other countries.

Short answer: no. Long answer: hell no. I watch anime occasionally, but the anime I've seen is pretty much whatever Cartoon Network decides to show. I don't suscribe to the Anime Network, I don't buy much manga, I don't know that much generally about anime and often get confused when people decide to pull random facts out of their *** when talking about anime. So, yeah, I enjoy watching some anime when it comes on every once in a while, but it's hardly my foremost area of enjoyment. I pretty much treat it like any other form of entertainment, heh.

I've always been a big fan of the soundtrack for the original Star Wars trilogy. Being the big geek that I am, I enjoy listening to the songs on the soundtrack and remembering the particular scenes that they were played in. Helps that the songs on the soundtrack are almost all quite incredible. The only other soundtracks I own are the Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King soundtracks, both of which are quite good. Both are probably still available somewhere, so those would be nice pickups, heh.

All I can do here is reinforce what Tony said, heh. Game Boys have pretty much always been universal; not one of the Game Boy systems has had a regional lockout that I'm aware of. As Tony stated, however, the Game Boy Player disc must be compatible with your GameCube, but you don't seem to have any problems there. If there are any further questions concerning the Game Boy Player, it'd be nice if they could all go in this thread, heh.

I'm not really one to follow and watch a lot of anime but, out of the few that I've seen, Cowboy Bebop is easily my favorite. I've expressed my love of the series a couple times before...I think it's absolutely amazing. Cowboy Bebop really has it all, in my opinion, what with the mix of action, drama, light comedy and incredible aesthetics. I believe that it's really the aesthetics that inititally draw people into Cowboy Bebop, because the story doesn't really get a kickstart until later on in the series. Cowboy Bebop simply looks incredible and the animation is damn near flawless. I especially admire the cathedral scene in Ballad of Fallen Angels; the dark nature of that entire scene simply looked stunning. The music, as expressed by just about anyone whom has heard the music of Cowboy Bebop, is equally incredible. The soundtrack is a mishmash of different musical stylings and, seeing as I'm a guy with a rather eclectic musical taste, I enjoy hearing all the different genres of music that Cowboy Bebop can squeeze out. Also, the dubbing for Cowboy Bebop is easily the best I've ever heard. Just as a horrible voice cast can drive a good anime into the ground, a great voice cast can shoot a good anime into the stratosphere. I think that's what happened with Cowboy Bebop; the overall story is good, but was made better with the great voice acting that took place throughout the series. Luckily, I had the foresight to tape every episode of Cowboy Bebop, so whenever I feel like watching the show I can just take one of my tapes, pop it in the VCR and let the good times roll. On another note, though, I still haven't been lucky enough to see the movie yet. I have to save up enough money to go over to Best Buy and buy the darn thing, heh.

I don't really mind people holding hands, because that doesn't really bother me. But when you see people making out everywhere, it gets to be more than a bit annoying, heh. Really, the last thing I want to see when I walk around anywhere is a gazillion couples making out lol. The worst are the people who just seem to follow you around while making out...like they're trying to drive the point home or something -__- I don't care about one or two couples kissing or something, but around here it's like a domino effect lol. One couple starts and the rest follow, heh. But I don't see how the school is going to be able to enforce this, anyway. As long as there are a ton of horny teenagers about, there is going to be making out...one of the few things that'll probably never change about life :p

This wallpaper is great...I'll probably use it forever lol. So enjoy yourselves and take a look, heh.

Well, after high school (I'm a Senior this year, for those who care), I'll be heading off to college to study journalism. I was one of those kids whose career interest changed every week, but last year, I finally settled on journalism. This path just seems right to me, I suppose. I've always had an infatuation with video games and have enjoyed reading through the various publications that have to do with video games (I've been an avid Electronic Gaming Monthly and Nintendo Power reader for years). I still have much to learn in the ways of journalism, obviously, but I feel that my writing is strong enough that I can break into the field and achieve my dream as it were. In terms of actually getting my writing out there...well, I've posted some reviews for random message boards and recently published my first review for a webpage, so I think I'm progressing fairly well. Hopefully, my writing will continue to evolve and grow enough so that I can get what I've always coveted - a job in gaming journalism. So, I suppose that answers the question. As for what college I'm going to...I'm still waiting to see if I got into my first choice, heh. I've already been accepted to Cal Poly Pomona (and I'm being considered for Honors, to boot), but if USC accepts me, I'll be heading off there, most likely. The only problem there is the expense...even though I'll be commuting, rather than living there, the expense is still up there. Yikes.

Well, I did ask James about it lol. It's not like I decided to just make this out of the blue, heh. I was actually concerned over the content of the banner for a while. And I don't really get any special privileges or anything because I'm a mod...I'm subject to the same rules as anyone else o_O; But, in any case, thanks for the critique. Definitely appreciated.

I made off with a pretty good bounty this year, heh. Crapload of DBZ action figures - My parents still think I love the show...I don't, but the action figures are okay. Entertaining to play around with, heh. Spider-Man blanket - Nice to use when I'm cold, but not really practical for use at night since it doesn't fit me all the way lol. Still, it's a cool blanket. My Nintendo Power magazine - My mom saw fit to steal my first issue of Nintendo Power, hide it, and give it to me for Christmas -__- That's what I get for paying for it. A couple t-shirts - One was a nice USC shirt, commemorating their trip to the Rose Bowl, the other was a nice long-sleeved white shirt (which I actually think I look rather good in o.o). A wallet - Self explanatory, I hope. Nirvana: Unplugged in New York - My favorite gift that I received this year. Great, great CD - been listening to it nonstop since yesterday, heh.

The Evil Creatures known as "Siblings"
Shinmaru replied to Hittokiri Zero's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, despite how annoying they (and me lol) can be at times, I've never really hated my siblings. Ever. My sister, thankfully, is transitioning out of the "angry teenager" phase. She was one angry girl lol. But now, she is very pleasant and good to talk to, which is nice. Angry teens aren't fun to talk to. Nope. My brother, however, is going into the "angry teen" phase. It's not so bad, but he starts a lot of fights and yells a lot, heh. Very annoying, but I've learned to just let it go. Fighting back isn't going to help me that much lol. Of course, I shouldn't complain, because I was the same way when I was younger :p -
I've been writing for a while now, but I've never really wanted to post anything I've written on OtakuBoards until now, heh. Most of the poems I write are just spur-of-the-moment stuff, that end up getting revised later, so if these seem sketchy it's because they are. lol Keep in mind that I'm no great shakes when it comes to poetry...it's one of the areas in writing I feel I'm lacking, heh. But there's always room for improve and I shall strive to improve ^_^ Also, my poems mostly have a more songlike feel to them, since I listen to music when I write...so don't mind the choruses I've strewn throughout them :p Now, without further adieu, a few poems I wrote this morning. Plateau Up to the hills And open the books To the mountains we go Nothing up and nothing down Looking at the books Up on the plateau Who needs words And who needs life When you can deal with it all With the gift of strife Walk over the valleys And through the woods To the house we go Nothing to the left Nothing to the right Watching from the plateau Who needs words And who needs life When you can deal with it all With the gift of strife Made it through the rain Made it through the snow To the cathedral we go Nothing all around Nothing on the walls Nothing on the plateau Who needs words And who needs life When you can deal with it all With the gift of strife Simple Simple is as simple does Simple does everything in sight Simple is not as simple As simple seems All through the night Up on the walls And in the room Eat your pie And eat it good Simple is as simple does Simple has no shame Simple likes to have fun So simple seems To like to play Up on the walls And in the room Eat your pie And eat it good Simple is as simple does Simple is a crazy man Simple likes to follow you So eat your pie And eat it good Up on the walls And in your room Eat your pie And eat it good Up on the walls And in your room Eat your pie And eat it good My Love I was gone I was gone The whole night through My love My love She didn't care I would shiver And she would call I would die I would die The whole night through My love My love She would die for me I would shiver And she would call I would fall I would fall The whole night through My love My love She would get up I would shiver And she would call I would cry I would cry The whole night through My love My love She would cry with me I would shiver And she would call I would laugh I would laugh The whole night through My love My love She would laugh with me We would shiver And nobody would call And there they are...feel free to be totally honest with me, because I can take some harsh criticism without getting my feelings hurt (on the same token, I can take some flattering criticism without overblowing my ego ~_^). Thanks for taking the time to read some of my work, whomever you happen to be ^_^

I've played through a bit more of Double Dash!! The difficulty intensifies a lot from the transition from 50 to 150cc. Hell, it intensifies a lot from the transition from 100 to 150cc. I've been having a pretty difficult time with good 'ole 150cc, heh. I've managed to finally snag a gold in the mushroom cup and I've got bronze in Flower Cup. Obviously, I have some more work to do, heh. But all this will be worth because I'll unlock a bevy of awesome racers and levels to race in. Joy! The verdict on Double Dash!!: Still awesome, and I suck at 150cc. lol

My review of Zelda: Collector's Edition That review pretty much holds all of my thoughts on Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition if you can read through it all lol. Long story short, the compilation is very well emulated (with only some sound issues in the port of Majora's Mask) and all the Zelda games are still amazingly fun to play. So, I hope you have tons of fun with it, Lightning Baron ^_^
Originally posted by BabyGirl As long as we don't have to see her make out with Luke, icky. I'm sure you've seen the image they conjured up for the SW Universe cards [or some extended universe thing], and while the model is pretty, they made her look like a tramp. Sooooo un-Mara like. If they made movies out of the Thrawn trilogy, which would be way cool, they'd need to make a much sleeker Mara image.
Nope...I've only seen one Mara Jade pic that I can remember and that was from The Ultimate Guide to the Star Wars universe. The book is rather old, though (probably released around '93 or '94), so she's obviously changed, heh. All I know is that the picture of her in the book looked good. Very sleek and un-whoreish. lol
Originally posted by PoisonTongue I think the opinion of Aaron Carter is best summed up by an older SNL skit called "Rap Street." Horatio Sans and...Jerry Minor, I believe, were Kid Shazaam and Grand Master Rap, respectively, two aging hiphoppers from I would imagine the early 80s. Mena Suvari hosted the show and starred in the sketch as Aaron Carter. Of course, Aaron was portayed as an annoying goodygoody who sang songs like "Candy Is Good," "I Like My Bike," and "Help The Police." Suvari was rather hyper throughout the skit, giving Carter some insane bobs and such. So, I think SNL speaks for all of us here when they show Aaron Carter to be some hyperactive, prepubescent, teacher's pet white boy, lol.
That just about sums up my opinion of Aaron Carter lol. That sketch was pretty funny. And, honestly, I could care less if he's famous and he's making a lot of money. He's pretty much set for the rest of his life...more power to him. I'm just glad those annoying commercials for his CD dissappeared lol.

Wolfgang688, please stay on topic. If you would like to talk about Harvest Moon, either find a thread about it (there have been a couple in here) or make one of your own. This thread is pretty much for things relating to Animal Crossing 2. Thanks.
