Since I like analyzing, I think it's time for me to post some good 'ol SummerSlam predictions (in order of importance). A-Train vs. The Undertaker - I'd rather watch Biscoff/Shane than this, because at least Shane is a decent wrestler. This will just be a slow, drawn out match. Plus, you know that The Undertaker is going to win. Winner: The Undertaker Shane McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff - I don't think that the match will be very good (an understatement), but it should serve to further the Kane storyline. I see Kane interfering on Bischoff's behalf again as I have heard rumors of a Kane/Shane match at the next PPV. Winner: Eric Bischoff Tag Team Championship Match: Dudley Boys vs. La Resistance - It pains me to say this, but La Resistance is the best team on RAW right now. And, no, that is not a good thing, because they're very green (but still pretty good). The belts should stay on La Resistance and, hopefully, one of the two comedy teams (either Hurricane/Rosey or Goldust/Lance Storm) will be good enough to win the belts. Winner: La Resistance Rob Van Dam vs. Kane - I predict a good, old-fashioned squash here. It won't be that bad, but you know Kane is going to win what with the monster push that he's (justifiably) getting right now. I wish it weren't at the expense of RVD but what are you gonna do? Winner: Kane Fatal Fourway for U.S. Championship: Tajiri vs. Rhyno vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero - This could very well be the match of the night. Four great competitors in the ring together? Sign me up! I see Eddy keeping the U.S. Title because he hasn't held it long enough to make it very credible, but a good win here will really be a boost for the U.S. Championship division. But I still think the finals should've been John Cena/Matt Hardy because both Guerrero and Benoit could be fighting for the WWE Championship. Winner: Eddy Guerrero Elimination Chamber for the World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton vs. Kevin Nash vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Goldberg vs. Chris Jericho vs. Triple H - Okay, I know of the rumors about Triple H defending the title at house shows after this but I still think that he's losing the title here. With that said, there's an easy way to figure out the winner here; by elimination, of course. Randy Orton is way too green, Kevin Nash is injured too often, HBK doesn't wrestle enough, and Trips is gonna lose the title. That leaves Goldberg and Y2J. And I can't consciously choose Goldberg over Chris Jericho. Plus, Jericho deserves it and everyone knows it. Winner: Chris Jericho WWE Championship: Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar - Lesnar is in the middle of a massive push (when has he not?), but Angle hasn't held the title for very long and to take it away now would be a slap in the face for the best wrestler on Smackdown (it's true, it's damn true). This could also be the match of the night, but we'll see how it goes. Winner: Kurt Angle
Originally posted by hiachi You start singing "Aminal Forest"....... "Movin' away to a new town Buyin a house, 1000-bells down......"
I actually have that song saved on my computer, as a matter of fact. Very, very catchy song, as Desbreko said.

Just wanted to drop in and say that if RAW is finished soon, to not expect Smackdown to start until at least next Thursday or Friday. The reason is that I will be vacationing in Las Vegas from Sunday until Wednesday and I'll need some time for Avalon and I to get together and pound out the match order for Smackdown. Thanks for your time. EDIT: I also want to say that I probably won't be available as often as I'd like to be because I'll be taking many classes this school year that will require a lot of attention. I have a free sixth period which I could use for homework purposes, but that most likely won't be enough. With that said, expect there to be days where I will not be available.

- You go to Burlington Coat Factory and ask for Tom Nook - You stand around outside your house muttering "Where's that damn walarus?! I want my wallpaper already!" - You steal fruits off your neighbor's fruit tree because they're worth several times more than your fruit. - Every car dealer you see starts looking like Crazy Redd. - You see small groups of animals doing calestenics in the morning. - You expect the mayor of your town to pop out of nowhere with a gift for you every time there's a holiday. - You find fossils on the ground and send them to the government for identification. - Angry giraffes stop by your house and demand that you wash their car. - You have separate NES's for all of your NES games. - You give secret codes to the raccoon in your garbage in the hopes that he'll give you free stuff.
Originally posted by maladjusted Oh, yeah. Ok...well, the example I'll give you isn't exactly a dangerous situation, but... In LoTR: TTT, the part where
that giant walking tree comes out and sees that all the other trees were cut down,
I started laughing my head off. I often laugh at situations...like once, my insane dog attacked my sister and I started laughing.
Heh, that reminds me of the part where
that one Ent was on fire and it was running around everywhere. After the huge flood came it just dipped itself in the water.
I found that incredibly hilarious for some reason...

I'm sure that DW (heh, just like in Darkwing Duck) will be able to get his hosting fixed soon enough - have some patience, people. Good things come to those who wait, right?

Well, it's nice to see that I'm not the only person who hates the putting in Mario Golf. As I said before, I can't even come up with a good reason why the putting is off in this game. It's like you have to hit it perfectly for it to go in. In real golf, even if you're off a little bit, the ball has a chance to go in. Such is not the case with this game, which really sucks. As for the obstacles, I've done a pretty good job of avoiding them, but it can be very frustrating when you have to shoot around them. The sand traps, especially, can be frustrating to get out of at times. I once had to take five shots to get out of one damn sand trap. That doesn't even happen in real life! And this is supposed to be an arcade-like golf experience, so I don't know why it is the way it is.

My school is predominantly Hispanic/Asian. I'd say it's about 2/3 Hispanic and 1/4 Asian (mostly Filipino and Vietnamese). Whites are the definite minority at my school, with African-Americans being a close second.

I'm a pretty big MegaTokyo fan; I've been reading it for about half a year now (and it took me forever to catch up -_-). My sister has Vol. 1, so I can read it whenever I want (with the little editorials, of course). It's a nice little webcomic and I recommend it to anyone who's interested.

Very funny, Gavynn! Another classic! Heh, that stuff with Sean Connery was pretty funny. I was hoping you'd make use of his thick Scottish accent but oh well. And Mo is truly an idiot since he didn't stay and marry that hot princess lol.

Ikaruga was first released for the Dreamcast. I'm pretty sure my answer is right, but if it isn't, then disregard my question. Q: Name at least five companies, besides Nintendo, that have developed Nintendo related games (second-parties are accepted because they're only owned by Nintendo, and they're not the actual company).

I used to be like this all the time. I never physically harmed my younger siblings, but I would get into shouting matches on occasion. As I grew up, I've just grown out of it. Unfortunately, my brother and sister fight nearly every day and I end up having to play peacemaker, which isn't a role that I'm really suited for because I have a bad temper which can ignite if I have to deal with too much crap with them (which happens, oftentimes). My brother, in particular, has been starting a lot of arguments with me lately. He has this very annoying habit and making the most inane arguments and supporting them like his life depended on it with stuff that doesn't make any sense. And when it's obvious that he's wrong, he's throws his hands out and says "No, no, no! I'm right and you're wrong!" I hope he eventually realizes that crap like that really makes you look like a total jackass.

Heh, I'm 5'9 and weigh about 175 lbs. I have a bit of a belly, but that'll go away once I start getting active again (which I will once it starts to freaking cool down). I'm actually pretty healthy, so I don't have to worry about my weight too much.

Actually, I believe that this question was asked earlier in this thread (a lot earlier, as a matter of fact @_@). Maybe if you could think of a different question?

Heh, hopefully that'll be the last time he tries to recruit people in this topic. Now, onto my RAW review! Chris Jericho opened the show with the Highlight Reel, which I thought was cool. He promised to beat Kevin Nash later in the show and then seriously talked about winning the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. I think he even outdoes Triple H's speeches about keeping his World Title. God, I hope Jericho wins. He then brought out Shawn Michaels. He let HBK say one word and then took back the mic in a way that only Y2J can. I thought the perplexed look on HBKs face was pretty funny, too. Then, Jericho brought out his "good friends" in Evolution and hightailed it out of there to prepare for his Hair vs. Hair match. Triple H put over the danger of the Elimination Chamber, but continually called it the "Evolution Chamber." I don't know whether this was by accident but whatever. Soon after, Shawn brawled with Evolution and was taken down. Kevin Nash makes the save but he is soon beaten down as well. Goldberg tries to make the save but accidently spears Kevin Nash. Hey, whatever works. Shane McMahon comes out and says that he's going to beat up Bischoff and burn Kane with the same gasoline he used to burn Jim Ross. We'll see how that goes, Shane-O. Test confronts Stacy in the back and says that he's going to treat her like the slut she really is. Yeah, I'm sure. Molly Holly and Trish Stratus fight in a good match, that was way too short (which seemed to be the theme of the night). Gail Kim ran in and got a Chick Kick from Trish. When Molly went for the pin on Trish, Gail pulled her out and they brawled for a bit. Backstage, Goldust tells Lance Storm that he has to be unpredictable. Then, he asks him what the most unpredictable thing he's ever done was. Storm says that once he returned a tape that he didn't rewind. It was okay, but not as funny as last week. Test beat Steiner in what was a lackluster match, dominated by Steiner throughout. Test faked a knee injury at the end. Even though I knew it was a hoax, I thought he did a good job with it. He made it look pretty real; it's just that this angle has been done so many times, the audience saw right through it. La Resistance did a promo and made fun of an unidentified GI at ringside (who turned out to be Rob Conway making his WWE debut). The Dudley's chase La Resistance away, only to be cracked over the skull with the American flag from Conway. La Resistance come in and celebrate with the French flag. Chris Jericho beat Kevin Nash, in what was a lackluster effort, even with Jericho in the match. Jericho didn't really seem to be on his game in the match, and Nash was just as lazy as usual. At least the match had a great heel finish with Jericho poking the eye of the ref, giving Nash a low blow, and punching him between the eyes with the brass knuckles. Jericho cuts Nash's hair and steals it as a prize and rubs it on himself, which proved to be quite disturbing to say the least. Next, was a promo in which Rosey saved a cat from a tree, which promptly attacked him. I thought it was funny. Rosey beat Rodney Mack in a decent match. This Rosey push is working out pretty well, in my opinion. Rosey works well in this role and he has a decent enough moveset to have some good matches. I also like his superhero pose, heh. Theodore Long came back this week, which is good, because he's the only thing I like about Rodney Mack. Eric Bischoff invades Linda McMahon's home in what I thought was an absolutely horrible segment. I can't believe Bischoff actually agreed to do this because it sucked. Hard. Afterwards, Shane steals a car and presumably drives either to the airport or he's driving all the way to Grenwich. Christian beat Rob Van Dam (via countout, I guess) in what was the match of the night. However, I was expecting a bit more from these two. The pace of the match was a bit too slow, considering their reputations. After the ref bump, Christian missed a solo con-chair-to and RVD hit the Van Daminator and the Five Star Frog Splash, which brought out Kane. Two really great spots with the chair come up right here. RVD hits the Van Daminator on Kane by throwing the chair in the air and kicking it to Kane's face. RVD runs through the ropes to jump at Kane and is slammed in the face with the chair. Kane carries an unconscious RVD to the back. Test orders Stacy to perform a lap dance for him, Rico, and Steven Richards. Isn't Rico supposed to be gay or did I miss something? And where in Stacy's contract does it say that she has to give free lap dances? Kane handcuffs RVD to a post and pours gasoline all over him. He's going to burn him but decides not to, because "they" want him to. Who are "they" exactly? Goldberg beat Randy Orton to conclude the show. Stone Cold was the special enforcer and apparently became the referee after a ref bump. Stone Cold got provoked and gave a Stunner to Flair and punched out Orton. Goldberg Jackhammered Orton and got the victory. Triple H stands up and stares at Goldberg. Kevin Nash, and his stupid haircut, come in and he Jacknifes Goldberg. Triple H is amused and is also Superkicked by Shawn Michaels. HBK and Nash celebrate and Shawn is hit in the back with a chair by Jericho. Nash is pissed and the show ends how it should end: Orton and Goldberg unconscious with Nash and his stupid haircut in the ring, and Triple H and HBK unconscious on the ramp, with Jericho holding the title securely on his shoulder. Please let Jericho win! Overall, it was a below average RAW that was saved by some good finishes. However, it didn't really do that good of a job setting up for SummerSlam, which should have been the top priority. I'll have my SummerSlam predictions up in a couple days, though.

Good luck, LostProphet. I hope they don't take your contract (come on, everyone makes mistakes). Be sure to inform us as early as you can!

I'll have to go with KnightOfTheRose and recommend the Dark Tower books by Stephen King. They're quite fascinating and really hook you in (which, in my opinion, is what a good book should do). I won't give away any plot points, but here are the four books that have been released so far: The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, and Wizard and Glass. Right now, I'm partway through Wizard and Glass. I've also been in a Star Wars kick lately. I've reread my favorite trilogy, the Grand Admiral Thrawn trilogy, written by Timothy Zahn, which include Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command. If you're a Star Wars fan, then I would suggest checking those three out, because they're the best of the Star Wars novels that I've read. EDIT: Another good book I forgot to mention is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Very good read if you're looking for something philosophical. I read it last year and enjoyed it very much. Really makes you think about things.

I think they're both good. The pictures are nice and clear and are a lot easier to see than most of the stuff you see around here. I think the inside border of the banner looks good and the color gradients in the lettering look nice as well. *gives thumbs up*

Heh, that's a pretty funny story, Solo. I'm pretty good at controlling myself, but whenever I go to Toys R Us or someplace like that, I immediately make a beeline for the video games and start playing and demanding that people "meet their fates." Come on, I'm only human ^_^
-
Overall, I like the banner. I think that the picture on the left is a bit fuzzy, but there are no other problems with it. I think that the font goes especially well with the background. Nice work!

Awesome episode, Gavynn! You and I need to chat on AIM someday...the conversation would be interesting to say the least...at least, gathering from my convos with Syk3, it should be... Anyway, I hope your next series does exceptionally well! I'm looking forward to it! And Daily Comic with voices? Has God answered my prayers? I would get that in a second! I wouldn't even have to think about it!

Shin leaned back in his seat and prepared to start the engine. Shin: That cycle of yours better not scratch my ship up or you're paying for the damage, Kitty. Kitty: No way am I paying for anything that happens to your ship! Flash: Aren't you supposed to be rich? Shin: Yeah, so? Jacen: Couldn't you pay for it yourself? Shin: You fly with me, you take the responsibility of not messing up my ship. That is, unless you have another way to get to where you're going? Everyone glares at Shin. Shin: I thought not. Now, let's get out of here. Shin starts up the engine and the ship lifts off and flies away.

Why did you choose your screen name?
Shinmaru replied to EdtheHackerGirl's topic in General Discussion
Well, my first name was mirai_torankusu, which was derived from the Japanese name of Future Trunks. Basically, I just got sick of the name (and the various misspellings and typos from people on other boards) and decided to change my name. Shinmaru is a character I made up loosely based on Shin from Sessions 25 and 26 of Cowboy Bebop. I thought the name sounded okay, so I just went with that. -
I pretty much have to agree with everyone else. The gem-hunting levels in particular just serve to magnify the problems with the Adventure series. In particular, the horrible camera (haven't seen a camera that bad since Super Mario 64), the boring levels (outside of the Sonic/Shadow levels) and the rather slow nature of the game (again, outside of the Sonic/Shadow levels). I'm optimistic about Sonic Heroes, but I'll wait until I actually play it before I spew any judgement.
