It's amusing, but I don't think anyone would get the Miyamoto joke unless they read a previous entry on my blog *plug plug plug* Sorry, leaky sink. ^^

There was an OAV of Chrono Trigger which did the video game absolutely no justice. In fact, it was just a side-adventure with the unimportant characters in the show, and only in the end do you see Crono and the others, but like, they don't do anything. There was also a "Chrono Trigger Resurrection" fanmade 3D game, but that got shutdown by Squaresoft simply because it was getting to be better than anything Square's put out in quite a while, haha. So, to answer your question, yes there is a "movie," but it's nothing special. Unless you like those little Spekkio-esque twerps.

Actually, while OB is going smoothly for me, myOtaku tends to hang for about 2 minutes before being able to get any data from the server and continue downloading the site. I think I have the same hanging problem as Flamefirebrand, and I haven't made any changes for quite a while.

I sincerely apologize in advance if I offend anyone in this post, but I feel this needs to be said before things get worse. OB has always boasted quality. Posts, organization, and members even, all have a standard of quality. I think this graphics contest should be no different. That being said, I think the lack of votes for the Young Cheezay and Sean match is due to the very poor quality of both entries. Sure, you can vote and say which one is better, but even then, it gives you a dirty feeling since neither entry deserves recognition of any kind. I'm sure Young Cheezay and Sean are great artists, and if not, have the ability to become great ones if they keep working on it. Their submissions (READ: not them) are wretched and, IMO, unacceptable in something titled as "Otakuboards Graphics Tournament." Also, I don't think either artist conveyed the theme well enough for them to be valid.

SCAR WAS THE FATHER......................
I hope this new development in the Fullmertal Alchemist world serves us all well and helps to illuminate the darkness of the many Fullmetal Alchemist mysteries.
No, in fact, it creates more problems.
Rose was raped by military personnel. Scar is neither military personnel nor would he rape someone
. If this statement is indeed true, it degrades FMA by creating more inconsistencies. Solid evidence instead of "I saw" statements would make a lot of your claims more believable. Right now, though, I think this is a flat-out lie, no matter how you arrived at it.
Myself I use a type of bag that is made to hold a laptop along with your books. It looks more like a small briefcase than a bag though.
That's basically what a messenger bag is... Aren't they wonderful? I admit that you can't overpack them like you can backpacks, but in college, you really never need to pack them with ALL of your books like you did in highschool.
-
I realize my input probably won't help since I'm considered a girl, but I've used a messenger bag all through college. It's the only way to go, IMO. While I prefer backpacks for really carrying stuff, the versatility of a messenger bag wins me over. There are multiple ways of carrying it, and it's more flexible (in terms of moving around with) than a backpack.
So if you're still interested, and assuming he is as well, I wouldn't mind rescheduling, since he probably would have been able to participate if the tournament had been started immediately, without so many delays.
Sounds good to me. Anytime is fine. School's just been a nag since it just started up, but two more days and everything will be in line for me. ^^
-
Yeah... I'm kinda hoping that a match where both entrants didn't submit an entry is a draw...

I prefer AIM chatrooms. There's no messy Java app, and only the cool people are invited.
As for whether brown bread is better for you than white bread, I don?t know, I?ve heard it?s better for you but I honestly prefer white in a sandwich purely for taste reasons.
There's only one thing that separates white bread from whole wheat (aka "brown") bread: the fiber. There's a significantly larger amount of fiber in whole wheat. Fiber is essential only for an easier pooping. As Sara and Mitch pointed out, it's all about willpower and changing your unhealthy lifestyle. Hey, if you are overweight and continue to be, there is something about the way you live that's unhealthy! In the end, though, it all comes down to calories. Even if you eat all carbs, all protein, or all fat everyday, if you consume less calories than you burn per day, you will lose weight. There are other factors to consider, though. Everyone going on a diet will lose weight fast at first, but then the loss will slow down, and may even stop if you do not do certain things. First off, eating less may not be enough in some cases. If you do not consume enough proteins and other daily essentials (vitamins), then your body will make physiological changes to make your body capable of expending less calories per day. That is, your body may reduce your muscle mass so you don't use up so much energy per day, making it even harder for you to lose weight. So, if you aren't going to excercise and only reduce your caloric intake, at the least, make sure you get all your daily required nutrients. Otherwise, it'll bite you in the rear later.

Lately, my friends have been acting strange. Their modes of discussion are clearly manipulative, getting you to talk or think they care. It's so fake, and I don't like playing mind games, especially with casual friends. Even if they are pretending, they are behaving as better individuals. I don't know how to explain it any better. They probably do whatever it is too poorly/obviously for it to be represented properly. Anyway, I soon learned that they are both reading a book called How to Win Friends and Influence People. Now, don't get me wrong, it sounds great, but if my friends are any indication, it's a false garb you wear, and you have to wear it quite well or else it shows that you don't care and/or are just being manipulative. Anyone else hear of this book? What do you think of the idea of learning to go against your own nature and pretending to care? I'd rather have a person genuinely be a dick and say they don't care than try to win me over or influence me by falsities. Don't get me wrong, if you are a bad person and ill-willed, then certainly, changing yourself is great. But pretending to change is worse than being yourself any time of the day. While I don't know anything about the teachings in the book, it's disgusting to think that there are books that promote that kind of trade.

So... yeah... those two teens... turns out they were gay and hanged for having gay sex... Oh, sorry, I'm off topic. ^^; Otaku America, all you have proved is that homosexuality is considered a sin in Christianity. There's nothing there that says what a homosexual experiences is different from what a heterosexual experiences. You are still wrong to cast assumptions for which you have no reference for.

Dropping like flies... Muahahah! *stops sending death threats* I'd like to join this tournament with the assumption that you don't need to be able to draw anything but can Photoshop everything.^^;

Dagger's right about the height thing. Evolution is a very slow process by all definitions, and a random one in the Darwinian sense. It's so slow that it is impercievable (hence the reason it is hard to argue against), and so any change we can see in a few generations is not evolution, but something unrelated to genetics. Most importantly, if Darwinian evolution was the cause, then only a certain group (or family - or more likely, one person) would be tall. The change wouldn't take place all over the world simultaneously. Rather, it would spread so slowly, and on the condition that the people who were not tall died because being tall was necessary. So, everyone getting tall can't be evolution. ^^;
Tell me you're not implying that homosexual love is any different from heterosexual! That would be the same as saying that homosexuals aren't human like heterosexuals. Surely the emotions we feel - love, hate, sorrow, joy - are the same despite what sexual orientation we have! We are[/I'] all humans, you know.
lol. No-no. I'm not implying that, but I'm saying you cannot rule out the possibility if you believe science to be true. You don't know what heterosexual love feels like (you've never experienced it), so you don't know if it's the same as homosexual love. If you are willing to say that homosexuality is genetic/in-born, then you have to be willing to admit that being gay may not be the only change a person undergoes. I'm not saying homosexual love is different, and it probably isn't. However, from a scientific standpoint, there's a chance of that. Maybe there's like, MRI's done of gays and straight people that already addresses this? I dunno, heh. Whatever the case, I don't know enough about being gay, but I bet the information is out there. However, I know science knows very little about becoming gay. What causes homosexuality and what is different in a straight person and a gay person (if any) is still in the air. Really, all I was saying was that Otaku America was wrong because he has never experienced homosexual love to know anything about it. Likewise, you knew he was wrong, but you justified it incorrectly, by doing the same thing he did.
Isn't that what some of the ancient Greek philosophers said? Sex is between a man and a woman, love is between a man and a man.
I think you might be referring to one of Plato's stories about Socrates. A bunch of philosophers are sitting around a bar table talking about the different types of love. The man who goes before Socrates describes gay love as a transfer of knowledge or something, and Socrates defines straight love the purest and most intimate type of love, where your missing half becomes one with you and you are complete and become your true self for the duration. It's obviously wrong, haha. Remember the story was written in a time when male teachers slept with their male students and had wives as well. That's what the context clearly implies about homosexuality too.

I've been addicted to google earth ever since it was available. Before that, I used to use that really terrible terra server or whatever. Google maps is such a godsend. I think one of the best things is that other people can tag things for you to look at. In addition, there are all these hacks for it, such as figuring out how many steps it takes to get from one place to another. It's unbelieveable. Of course we looked at all the interesting things at first: the seven wonders of the world, Easter Island, hometowns, Washington DC (is the white house still missing for security purposes or something?), Ohio...

Spoiler highlight = fugly. A suggestion.
AzureWolf replied to Otaku America's topic in Help & Feedback
To be honest, I think you're just being unnecessarily picky. As they are, spoiler tags are obvious and effective. It works fine. If it ain't broke don't fix it - it isn't really that much of an eyesore. Personally, I'd be repulsed by sky-blue.
Oh, well, #### you! You ####ing ####er! You just have no taste, you know that?! T_T *Azure's sky-blue suggestion shattered* Hey, why don't we just have both and people can pick their flavor? SPOILER tag and SPOILER2 tag? That way we don't have to look at the good and bad of either of them and just let the poster choose. -
And don't give me that "lust not love"-crap. What do YOU know about the issue?! Have you ever even seen a gay couple? For your information, there can be true love between two men - [U]I myself have that with my boyfriend.[/U'] I love him with passion, I care for him most in the world, I would break into bits if something happens to him, I miss him horribly when he is not with me, I want to hold him in my arms and caress him gently, I want to share my life with him... Isn't that love?
Careful! Otaku America was wrong and you pointed out why (in bold), but you turn around and commit yourself to the same problem (underlined). Whatever you feel towards your boyfriend, you cannot legitimately argue that it's the same thing as what heterosexuals call love simply because you yourself aren't one. By the same merits, though, Otaku America has no grounds to say what homosexuals feel isn't the same. I'm just pointing out not to make the same mistake he does.
And you don't believe people can be born gay because then we would all be gay? That doesn't even make any sense! Of course there is a majority of heterosexual people, but there are also sexual minorities, like homosexuals, transsexuals, asexuals, androgynes etc.! All those people are born with those trades, and you are certainly not in any place to deny that.
I wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun. Certainly, most homosexuals are born gay (real homosexuals), but there are those that change themselves for the sake of being gay (fake homosexuals). People can delude themselves and see things that aren't there. With that in mind (literally), it wouldn't be too hard to change your sexual preference. EDIT: I'm glad everyone's enjoying the games. ^^

No raw was secured while FMA was airing in the theatres. It would have been bad quality anyway. From what I heard, there was a ton of security checking for any recording devices, and no one was in a "I'll be bribed" mood. So be wary of any postings/listings of the FMA movie for download. It's probably spam, or a ton of gay porn like some of the Naruto movie torrents were. XD

I know it's been four days and everyone probably would like to see this thread good and buried, but I want to touch upon something. Particularly, Dagger. I don't think she put herself across well enough. I'd like to point everyone to Taboo, a fun game which will make you understand Dagger's position. Like her, I have a strong universality factor. I will impose what's right or wrong on other cultures or systems of beliefs because I do not think it matters - time or place - what is right or wrong. That's the essence of having universal morals. (impose is a strong word, and I wouldn't actually go there and force them to accept it, but you'll get the idea) Anyway, take the test, Lunox and anyone else who was trying to correct (or elaborate their position to) Dagger. Because packing poultry is wrong, no matter what others say. :) I also recommend Battleground God for theists (it doesn't really work on atheists), and staying alive for anyone. ^^
There are 25 Islamic terms that must be memorized, six Islamic (Arabic) phrases, 20 Islamic proverbs to learn along with the Five Pillars of Faith and 10 key Islamic prophets and disciples to be studied.
Well, except for the whole forcing them to pray and change their names thing, I think it's a great idea and hope it is true. Learning about other cultures, religions, and languages is very helpful. When those kids come across people in prayer or saying proverbs, they won't be befuddled. Instead, they will understand the background and meaning behind what they see. Knowing the differences between people will show how different you aren't. ^^
I mean, compare Batman to Kenshin.
Liek! OMG! KENSHIN BATTOUSAI would TOTALALY KILL BATOMAN! WUT DO U THINK U R DOING? IT'S SO STUPID TO EVEN COMPARE! :flaming: THAT'S STUPID!!! KENSHIN IS ANIME! OMG KENSHIN!   Hello, Miss Mod Person. I'm an innocent new member, yes I am. :p Anyway, I don't think you can hate anime, just like a person can't hate movies or stories for that matter. You can hate a particular anime, movie, or story, but the medium itself is pretty hard to hate. So, with that in mind, I think people who criticize anime have had a bad experience with it or haven't experienced it at all. How often have you heard this reason for hating anime? "It's ridiculous. You have one guy screaming and powering up for one episode and the other guy screaming and powering up in the other one. How can you like that kind of stuff?" (guess which anime they watched.) I can't say I've met a single person who hated anime for the right reasons. Just like I've never met someone who hates music or books. It's just, very hard to hate something so broad. Anime is so diverse that there's something in it for everyone. ...Just like music, movies... yeah... you get the point by now...
-
Just one thought to add. Our culture (the internet culture/generation) has a tendency to assimilate things. Sooner or later (I'd say sooner in this case), there will be one meaning for anime. Most likely, it will be the more liberal definition since the internet generation usually leans towards those. In other words, while both are valid now and you have people arguing for both sides, expect "anything that looks, acts, or even flashes anime-ish-ness" to be the primary use of the term.

There are several TV shows that have warnings about wanting to become a comedian just by making a few people laugh. I know you know it's hard, but there's no real indicator if you have the right stuff. Also, I think you should ask your friends and family and have their feedback more than anything else. When you get booed off the stage (which will happen a lot at the beginning), they will be the ones to support you - or tell you they told you so. So make sure you have their support before venturing into this tough but rewarding field. My two cents, because that's all I'd ever tip a comedian. ;)
