In my experience, forums that run under vBulletin seem to conform less than those under phpBB. In other words, you've seen one phpBB forum, you've seen them all. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I like diversity. Plus, even with how diverse vB can be, if you are familiar with one forum that uses it, it's not so hard to get used to another forum. I figure your problem is just like the PS vs. PSP debate: you're used to one so you [strike]don't[/strike] can't like the other.

I've never had to make a toothbrick bridge, but we did have to make a tower out of one 81/2 in. x 11 in. paper and 50 cm of tape. The larger, the more points you would get. There was obviously a theoretical limit, so you knew what you could and couldn't do. Not to bog you down in the funny details, but my partner and I made the largest one in our class. You wouldn't believe how complicated people were getting, with these outrages structures and either too thin or too wide shapes. The point is, make sure you understand your structure, and why it is stable. It'll probably end up being less complicated and creative than you envisioned, but it'll be more stable and reliable than the competition's. If you overcomplicate, you are more likely to miss factors you should have considered, and your structure will suffer.

It's been released in Japan, and the rumor is that the US versions of episodes 27 & 28 are bundled with the last volume of .hack//SIGN. Whatever they are doing, both episodes are licensed, as is .hack//GIFT, so they are coming to us in one form or another. Reason to believe the rumors. EDIT: Good news, .hack//GIFT is in the fourth LIMINALITY DVD that comes with the fourth game, .hack//QUARANTINE. So, there you go, the location of all of the three extra episodes.

Well, besides fixing the quote, I can't say anymore than what I said before. It's a really nice, smooth animation, and the colors are nice. The hollow font was a cool idea, and I like how you associated the colors to the text (i.e., Naruto text is orange, which is fitting, and the other text that you associated with Nine-Tails is red).

Ghostly and gothic are the first words that come to mind when I see that picture of Yanamaria.
The smaller silhouettes in the background are "inspired by" Warhol's silk screens of soup cans and Marilyn Monroe (among others.) Using acrylic to emulate the silk screening process really doesn't work. *rolls eyes*
*is lost in technical mumbo - but gets the jumbo* Whoa... Is there an Art for Dummies book around? Anyway, I'm wondering what the clocks are for, and if it's part of the style or something you put in for a reason (or no reason). The first pic of the girl is really well-done. I like it a lot. However, some of the recurring pics in the BG seem a little rushed (like the bottom-left-most one). Besides that, it's interesting. I think if you explained more about this guy's style, it'd be easier to make comments. As it stands, I like the big pic in the front, and don't understand the rest.
-
It's interesting, and I really do like it, but I don't see the relation to the power of the Nine-tails. The quote is actually from the first episode, and although there is more than one way to translate things, the quote is actually more like,
"I'll return the pain a thousand times over," which is in reference to the fact that he creates 1000 replications of himself
. Besides that, it's a really cool banner. The animation is very nice, much better than my first try at GIFs.

It's already out. Can't say anymore than that.

When do you think is the right time for sex?
AzureWolf replied to Epitome's topic in General Discussion
After you are married! *dies laughing* Sorry i have always followed that theory and plan to sick with... Go ahead... call me old fashioned... It was how I was raised! Not that I'll ever get married or anything... Its just my opinion on that. You shouldnt have sex till AFTER you are married. Thats my opinion.
I'm with old-fashioned Blanko on this one, and might I add, sex only with your wife. Call me slightly more religious than my generation is, but I, like so many others, have come to this conclusion through careful consideration. As for the organ thing, that's pretty disturbing stuff. I thought sex was for reproduction and the ultimate form of affection, but hey, I'm old-fashioned like that. :) -
As for your spoiler question, Sasuke, let's just say,
he does utilize his lessons from the perverted hermit
. Hope that's vague enough for you. ^_^

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 19, "Recollection"
AzureWolf replied to Shy's topic in Otaku Central
The eyes? O_o Hmm... Well, to be honest, I never noticed any change in the art throughout the entire series, and I didn't think/notice that the eyes were flat. I figured you found something I didn't and I tried to take a stab in the dark with it - looks like I missed. But anyway, yes, from what I saw (or didn't), the art style is no different between Noir and .hack//SIGN. Same studio, Bee Train, was responsible for both series. The eyes are the same - at least, as far as I can tell. And there's absolutely no bottled-up emotions in Noir, so... yeah, I'll go over there in the corner with the dunce cap. In short, it's probably the art style. -
Originally posted by Gettles And about Noir being a yuri, well its hard to say. At times the show does hit at the possibleity of that but overall, it pretty much stays pretty neutral on that idea.
O_o Yuri? How is it a Yuri?
If it's about Chloe, then you are partially wrong
. If it's about the two main characters, you are way off.

Art Sound Effect Advice? (Skies Clouds Biplanes)
AzureWolf replied to Snoozer's topic in Creative Works
I would have to say, at some points, yes, the sound effects did work out, yet at other points, I didn't even notice them. The second and third window are done the best, I would say. You can see the text perfectly, yet they blend enough so you know that they are sound effects. Other times, though - like the big picture at the end - it blends in so much that you don't even know that it's there. Do you need to blend them so much? I think sound effects can sit side-by-side with chat because of how different they are. -
How can you spoil a game without a story? DMC2 made absolutely no sense storywise, and nothing is ever clarified - it's ridiculous. So, yeah, one of the things they could have done was not have a sequel done by a different team. And I don't think anyone appreciated Dante bearing more of his chest... And that ridiculous outfit... Wow, getting the shotgun, it was such a long time ago that I honestly can't remember (you retain all your weapons and gear for the higher difficulties). It's in a pretty obvious spot, so you can't miss it if you go through each area. Make sure you go to every place you can while playing through, so you won't miss it. The shotgun is a pretty sweet weapon the first few times you use it, but I found myself using Ebony & Ivory the most, and the grenade gun for the nobody's. You really don't need it, but if you want it, I suggest you either try to find it, or check GameFAQs. I thought the cool thing about "Sparda" was his shadow. I won't say anymore than that since you haven't gotten him yet.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 19, "Recollection"
Originally posted by Wave_of_Death But wait...if a spoiler's blacked out, how can you know that you know it unless you actually read it? (scratches head) did I say that right? (TRIES to think) Oh, da--it! I'm confusing myself again!!!
By watching the episode the spoiler is based on before reading the blacked out parts... -_- It's not complicated. This thread is about episode 19, so if you've seen episode 19, you most likely already know about the spoilers. Simple enough. -
Currently, there is one way to send the same PM to multiple recipients, but I don't know if it'll actually be faster or slower than just doing it one-by-one. You can send a PM to everyone on your buddy list at the same time. So, you could add the people playing the RPG to your buddy list, go to your user cp (aka profile), click the link at the bottom of your buddy list titled "Send PM to Buddies," and then select those people. Not the most efficient way, but hopefully it's more convenient.

I'm not familiar with the game, nor am I familiar with the characters. Nonetheless, I do like what you did with the character positioning. Also, the logo's position is nice, and I like how it fades out at the sides. The background is a little strange, but it might be fitting for the theme. Great work, wish I was familiar enough with the subject matter to help more.

Ring Around the Rosies was a song that depicted the Black Death as the Apocalypse. I don't know the entire thing, but in the song, there's this verse: Ring Around the Rosies SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING Thunder, Lighting, We all stand up The last two lines refer to Judgement Day. There's a Black Death reference in most of the lines, but someone else can point them out better than I can. So, I figured I'd add something. ^_^ EDIT: Is this your own unique poem based on the song/poem/whatever? I'm lost.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 19, "Recollection"

^That double post was my fault: I deleted my comment because I wanted to add some comments about Dagger's post - sorry.
Originally posted by Wave_of_Death One thing that kinda brought this episode down is the last scene, though...According to what I've heard,
Tsukasa is actually a girl
. If this is the case, why is he/
she
hugging Subaru at the end of the episode? That...kinda...gave me...the chills...eeeeewwwwwwwwww.....
Well, the fact that you haven't seen all of the episodes leading up to this one might explain why you didn't like the ending scene all that much. Secondly, the paradox you are complaining about is addressed later on in the series, when they reveal to you that
Tsukasa's user is a girl
. This complaint is a perfect example of why spoilers suck and should not be read if you want to get the most out of an anime. Spoilers should only be read after you already know about them. Gasp, Dagger dislikes the .hack//SIGN series! Blasphemy! ;) "Flat and unreadable," huh? Haha, I guess you also got immersed in The World and forgot that it is an online game, lacking human complexity. I believe that was the creators' intention to make them appear "flat and unreadable." The fact that Subaru doesn't appear as such in this episode is hinting at something, I'd say... -
SasukeUchiha: Thanks. I think I thanked you enough over AIM, so I'll leave it at that. :) H.Zero: Isn't a typo an error that you type? From your post, it sounds like there's another meaning that I'm not aware of. That little "signature" thing isn't visible, so it's not big deal, IMO. As for the "Lain" text, I guess moving it above the wings and in the clear sky area would have been a good idea. I wasn't thinking of that for some reason. The text was the second to last thing I added, so all my concern for positioning was used up. Same thing goes for the choice in font: I wanted a handwritten one, and went with the first one I came across that I had not used before. Thanks for your compliments and complaints. I'm glad that I'm improving. Haze: Yes, you and H.Zero are right: it is out of character for Lain. Sara said something about Lain never smiling, which I can agree with after going through an entire archive of Lain pics. Eerie... The black outline... What can I say. This pic of Lain was interesting it many ways. Particularly, the coloring and outline were very hard to differentiate between. You would not believe how much SasukeUchiha was complaining about my cropping. In the end, I think he laid off after I improved it quite a bit from my original crop. Heh, as I said before, that BG is a pic of real clouds + 5 median noise. That's all that was done with them: I'm not responsible for anything except the color of the BG, haha. The depth of the clouds is just enhanced by the 5 median noise. I don't have much experience with clouds, but I bet there's tricks to fluffify them. If I ever need to use them again, I guess I'll try different things. Alright, I won't change the wings, haha. Yes, the color scheme is thanks to SasukeUchiha. I kept deviating from it, and he kept saying, "go back and add more orange in the transition," or, "no, that doesn't match at all." Basically trial and error until I got the coloring right. Yeah, that's AzureWolf and AzureWolf in kanji. I like that font - one of my favorites. I've made too many banners before this, so it's not really right to call this a second wallpaper. Therefore, it's not proper to compare your second wallpaper to my second one. Thanks a lot for your comments. I'm honored. ^_^ Funny thing is, the halo was my favorite part of the wallpaper, yet no one said anything about that. O_o

Yes, you young whipper-snappers wouldn't know of the Zelda cartoon that used to come on. Link was mad-ugly, and if you saw the show, you would know why anime noses are not so outspoken. Good-god that nose was ugly. You'd never complain about noses if you saw Legend of Zelda, although Sonic pulled off the nose thing ok. In the hopes of not jumping to any more tangents, I'll keep this post as short as possible. I don't know if the show was an anime or not, but it was pretty weird. They were also misadventures, meaning there were only "enemy of the week" themes in each episode instead of a continuous storyline. Lastly, I think Link was a flirt, which shouldn't have been. So yes, while it would be cool if they had another Link anime, I'm skeptical about how the creators will give Link a character, who has always been without one.
Has anyone heard anything about the movie that's coming out in August?
No details about the movie's plot or storyline have been revealed, but the movie will be animated, retaining the original TV voice actors. The fact that a solid release date was given was shocking enough, haha.
Oh and does anyone know what that double episode that aired in Japan was? Was that this past thursday? Was is episodes 64 and 65? Fill me in lol.
Episodes 66 & 67 will be airing this week on Wednesday (which is our Tuesday night, I believe). However, keep in mind that because there is more stuff to translate, the fansub release(s) may not be out until the week after it airs. The hour special will be a welcome treat after what happened in this week's episode: they made an entire episode out of *not a big deal spoiler*
Gaara walking out into the field
. The special, though, will be all worth it.

IMO, there's no need for the periods. Besides that, not much else to say: it does what it aims to do, and does it simply.

Here's my second wallpaper. Unlike my first wallpaper, there's actually a color scheme behind this one. That's thanks to SasukeUchiha, though, as I originally had the wings blue with a black background. O_o In the end, I think I got a better understanding of why a color scheme should be used after I completed this wallpaper. Anyway, that background is a picture of actual clouds, which was one of the last things put in. The whole angel idea came to me when I took Lain out of her stock picture and staring at a blank canvas with her in the middle. I owe much thanks to SasukeUchiha, for supplying the stock picture, pushing me to make another wallpaper, and making sure I maintained the color scheme while adding stuff. ^_^ Critics, do your thing, it will be much appreciated.
"Hold steps"? Now are those the ones where all the arrows are kind of blended together, and you have to jump and stay on it? I find those a bit easier than being hit with 4 different directions at once.
Yeah, those ones. I don't know the DDR terminology, haha. Anyway, they are just weird to me. I find myself using the wrong foot or being in the wrong position for the next step (i.e., left leg on down, and the next step - while still holding - is left >_

"Exorcise," huh? You're a little too religious there, don't ya think? ;) I haven't tried all the songs out, but I think they removed the music video BGs that were in the first DDR Max. Those were so weird, and I didn't like them. I think that DDR Max was more newbie-friendly, while DDR Max 2 is just overall better for people who have played at least one version before. I still haven't gotten used to those "hold steps" or whatever they are called. :-/ They always throw me off real bad, haha. What I liked was that they synched the steps to something I can recognize. In the previous PSX version(s), I had no clue what the steps were synched to, so I couldn't get the beat down. DDR Max (both parts) do different parts of the song that are easier to catch. Sore after 3-4 hours? O_o What songs are you playing on (in terms of # of steps)? And are you bending your knees? I do get tired, but my legs rarely get sore no matter how long I play.
