1. He's basically saying to change the RPGs into visual RPGs, where everything can be seen. You know, like you would pick out a weapon, a character look, and an area (say, a forest), and then the dynamic HTML will generate the events that you want happening. Think of it as Everquest, except everything is turn-based, and the characters are on par with Final Fantasy 1 sprites. I think it's excessive and time-consuming just to start it out. Second, you'll lose the essence of the original RPing, which many people love. You can do so much more in words than limiting yourself with just pictures and settings.
Originally posted by craig8429 I've seen about 2 ep's but I didn't really like it to much....the animation just seems really dull.
Meh, if you haven't even seen the fourth and fifth episodes, you haven't really watched Naruto yet. The first two episodes develop the main character Naruto, while the third one introduces you to the main cast. The main cast's development spans a few random episodes, so you won't know the full drive of every character right off the bat. IMO, if you don't like it after watching the first five episodes, then I can say with certainty that you would not like Naruto at all. My extensive recommendation is to watch the entire Mist Saga (up to and including episode 20), if you can tolerate it for that long. :) Then tell us your opinion. What I don't get is how no one could like Sexy no Jutsu...
  3. I've seen banned members, if that's not an oxymoron. I see them several times, and they always give me a chill down my spine (except in the YYH forum). Besides that, I do sometimes see shadows, which turn out to be something, like one of my pet birds has found a new way out of his/her cage.
  4. I still think the "Flirt" banner is your best one. :p The first Scrapped Princess is really nice. First, the texture isn't too loud nor too quiet, which means it's just right. Then that font for "Scrapped Princess" is awesome! What is that (so that I may swipe it from some unsuspecting free website)? I'm guessing that an Onegai Twins banner is probably soon to follow?
  5. Too much empty space (the entire bottom could be cut out), and you could have used real chocolate pieces, and real fire at that. However, it's cool that you made the artwork all by yourself. On the other hand, since art skill isn't the focus, I would suggest using pre-made stuff to keep the attention away from "artificial" chocolate and more on the clever retort. EDIT: Oh, ok, now it makes more sense. Nice, very nice. Still, I say you should pop in real chocolate chip pieces. :p Haha, I don't know if anyone will get it unless they see the original poster, though, but it's a smart "advertisement" nonetheless.
  6. I remember this saying about online petitions being the lowest form of expression or resistance, being even lower than just wishing for something without action. Signing a petition isn't going to help anything, but supporting the company will. Buy the games, buy the soundtracks, and buy the DVDs: that will be the strongest way to tell Bandai and CC2 that you want "The World" to be a reality. Hmm... Another wolf... Grrr....
Originally posted by Jubei Yagyou Uhhh... I wouldnt want to agree with you on that one. First of all haku couldnt penetrate the sheild of sand let alone the armor of sand. I mean, Naruto could've beaten him so what gives you the idea that Haku would beat Gaara? Anyway, I would have to say the great... Itachi. I mean, he could probably beat Orochimaru even. Haku couldnt beat him because Itachi would follow his movements with the sharingan. And aside from that, he has the special sharingan technique that gives you an illusion of choice. Everyones practically scared of him. Including Orochimaru. So, thats a no brainer. HE IS THE BEST!!!
Hey, it's the one and only. You know, I was just talking about you:
IMO, it would be nice to have an anime discussion without those smart-aleck manga remarks (i.e., "Oh, we already know that from the manga, us great great manga readers that we are"). I hate elitism...
I don't know what that entire second paragraph is about, since it clearly doesn't pertain to the topic at hand. Second, it just sounds like you are trying to boast how you know more because you read the manga. Bravo, you read the manga version, and are now an invaluable credit to the human race. :golf clap: The question was If HAKU took the Chuunin exam, not If the entire freakin' Naruto universe took the Chuunin exam. So, to that effect, I'll only respond to your first paragraph.
Uhhh... I wouldnt want to agree with you on that one. First of all haku couldnt penetrate the sheild of sand let alone the armor of sand. I mean, Naruto could've beaten him so what gives you the idea that Haku would beat Gaara?
Water isn't the frindliest thing to water, and remember that Haku was toying with Naruto and Sasuke. Also recognize that Haku was on a level of a Jounin (Kakashi, to be exact), so are you saying that Gaara is stronger than Kakashi? If that's the case, you are truly overestimating Gaara. First off, that scene with Gai was to remind you that no matter how wicked awesome these Genins are, they still have a long way to go to match the previous generation. So, even if Haku couldn't beat Gaara by slowing down the sand with water, I'm betting he would have more tricks up his sleeve.
  8. List of people I hate: *Sephiroth, for being right ("You will be very, VERY surprised with the high level of play of the top players, lol (that's assuming if they say on the site if they are attending the tournament)") *Sephiroth, for being right again ("Word of advice, you will get your *** handed to you on the first big tournament you attend, lol, but that's to be expected since we all gotta start somewhere right? With practice and experience you will improve") *That jerk heading the tournament, whom I've dubbed "Bill," for his inconsiderate behavior I was truly impressed with the players' capacity, which I'm hesitant to call skill, since it was more of a "caching memory thing" than reflexes. In a word, these players were all awesome. I was stunned that they had memorized every move for every character! We aren't just talking about one or two people: we are talking about every single freakin' contestant! It creates a completely different environment, and therefore, demands different types of strategies that were just not in my league. I managed to save some face, but ultimately, I made 17/25 :o I'll admit, in my first match, I was the epitome of a wuss: I froze and forgot every move (except for the basics). The other two, however, I gave my all and came up short. Yeah, so my tournament record is basically 1 win, 2 losses  I still don't understand why some characters are banned. To me, the particular selection of characters made it seem that these hardcore gamers did not want to bother memorizing the new characters that were added to the console version, so they just banned them to make things easier for themselves (I'm not talking about just the three exclusive characters).
Who are these many people you speak of?
Well, the players in my city, and most of them just feel that way. And, in the case of Nightmare, I can now say he is overused not only in my city, but in the tournament as well. So there. :p
  9. The earlier, the better. The way I see it, the faster you start, the earlier you end. Besides, the time I get up doesn't seem to affect me. This year, I have classes starting nice and late, around eleven everyday, but I still manage to wake up and get ready in time to be ten minutes late for my first class, which is no different than when my classes started at eight.
  10. O_o http://www.jvcmusic.co.jp/m-serve/tv/avenger/top.html http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/avenger/ Just click around and you should find some more pics. No english websites, though. Usually, I just take screen captures for pictures, so I can't really help with the visuals. That's the best I can do. Sorry. Unfortunately, Yuki Kajiura doesn't seem to be doing the music for this series. Instead, Ali Project is taking over. They did a few pieces for Noir, such as the opening (Copellia's Coffin) and Red and Black.
  11. Hey James, not to get antsy/impatient, but has the search for contributors ended? It's been about five months, but you might just be waiting for v7.
  12. I'm not too keen on internet poetry, but smilies really don't work in poetry. I'm even reading it, on the internet, and the smilies just don't fit. Then again, this entire poem is lackluster. Keep trying, and try to convey your ideas within a poetic form, instead of a complete one.
  13. I had the honor checking out this nifty anime, made from the same studio that brought us .hack//SIGN and Noir. Upon looking at the characters and landscape, you will immediately recognize the studio's "signature style." Like both of their previous projects, the first episode creates a myriad of questions, while only answering a trivial few. Here's my synopsis from watching two episodes of the series: It's the future, and some tragic incident has left the civilized world of Mars in ruins. Additionally, the people have seemed to have lost much will to do anything, and rely on "dolls" to get through their everyday lives. Fighting seems to be a big source of money in each run-down "city," where each town gives care to their top figher and loses vital assests should that fighter lose. Those that have been raised in the saturated atmosphere of the unsheltered parts in Mars are ideal fighters, and we watch as the story of one particular outcast unravels. IMO, I was a little skeptical, but this new anime seems to have promise. Questions or comments?
  14. It's really a quality thing (like most other things): if done properly, they are pretty good. There was this Hanson one, where everyone was committing suicide or begging for death. There was another good one entitled "My Euthanasia," and - well, the title speaks for itself. Haha, that's AMV done right! I haven't seen that many great AMV's, so I'm not exactly "well-versed" in what's a good and/or bad AMV.
So how does the Jyuken and Hyuga Taijutsu's work? They are Taijutsu's technically, but they use alot of Chakra. But the use of them both requires the Byukugan technique. Soooo..... What? PS-this means I was right that the Lotus Techniques were forms of extreme meditation.
:twitch: How does that have anything to do with the Lotus? That doesn't prove anything about the primary lotus. Those are techniques that are based on lineage, and are exclusive to certain bloodlines. The lotus, on the other hand, is a simple taijutsu technique. Yeah, it's not simple simple, but there's nothing special about it except the prerequisites to execute it. Moving on...
If Haku took the Chuunin Exam: He would beat Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and many other's until he came across Gaara, who would then use the Desert Coffin technique on him, then using the Desert Gravyard to finish the job.
Haha, don't you think you are overestimating Gaara? Clearly, a Jounin would kick his rear (as you saw at the end of Rock Lee's fight), and, considering that Haku was on the level of Kakashi, I would have to disagree with that opinion. Gai flung aside Gaara's desert coffin like it was nothing, so I would have to say that the only one who would give Haku any trouble would be the person who dropped out before the elimination portion of the exam (
Kabuto
).
Another subject, what are some of your favorite jutsu's? Why? (such as why I like the Extreme Lotus technique.)
Haha, my favorite is the strongest jutsu in the entire series: Sexy no Jutsu! Simply the most powerful, and the most clever jutsu, known only to Naruto and his apprentice.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo I never said the Lotus technoqiues were the same. The Lotus techniques goes by stages. Lotus, Initial Lotus which then begins to push the body's limits, and then it goes to Extreme Lotus, which is self destructive. It does take the opening of the Initial Gate to let go of the mind's bind on the body's muscles (hence 'Intial Lotus') and the Heal Gate to keep the body from pretty much caving in on the user.
O_o primary lotus = "extreme lotus" secondary lotus = "initial lotus" I didn't say that you were comparing the two lotus techniques - you were giving the first and second gates' attributes over to the "extreme lotus."
The Manga explains the logic of the Extreme Lotus. It states that the mind only allows the muscles to reach 20% of its full potential, the Lotus Techniques are a form of extreme meditation (hence 'Lotus') that allows the user to break free from the mids boundries on the muscles, there for letting the attacker unlick there muscles full potential, but his is dangerous to the body and near fatal, so the Extreme Lotus technique is used only in "Extreme" situations.
Again, you are referring to the opening of the first two gates, and not the primary lotus. The primary lotus requires the gates to be open in order to execute it, but they are not one in the same. The first gate does what you mentioned, and the second lets the bodies' muscles go beyond their limit. You need this freedom to do the primary lotus. Might I add, chakra is used to break the the limits.

Chuunin Exam Spoilers Ahead... Everyone loves Rock Lee after that episode. However, while usually all of the Naruto universe makes sense, I don't understand how Lee can use the gates but can't use Genjutsu or Ninjitsu. Isn't the requirement only chakra use? I wonder what's up... Secondly, we all know he was making a come-back because of that new ending sequence. Haha, what a spoiler! It was an interesting message that rang through the end of Rock Lee's match. Truly, will and determination aren't enough to defeat a genius. The fact that Gaara still had his trump card unused was a shocker (haha, who would have thought that the gourd would be made of sand?!). Rock Lee's fall was impulsiveness, and I'm sure that Naruto will not forget this lesson.
My favorite Technique is the, duh! Extreme Lotus. Because it steps beyond the minds limits on the human body, giving the user the ability to unlock his body's full power and speed. When used, the user becomes so fast, that he cannot be seen, let alone touched. And I take it he also becomes extremely strong
That's only an effect of opening the first gate, and not an inherent trait of the primary lotus. We don't fully know or understand each of the gates' functions - at least not yet. IMO, the final gate lets you live beyond death - if only temporarily. Besides that, I didn't get a good look at the names of each gate to make a conclusion. EDIT: Here's a fun discussion thread that I read at some other message board (that I'm not a member of): If Haku took the Chuunin Exam Who would he beat? Who would beat him? Why?
  19. I always have trouble writing. Chances are, this post will take me fifteen minutes to write (with the editing and what-not). I just can't find the right way to say things without getting convoluted, and keeping things simple - well, I make them too simplistic. Anyway, I probably do my best writing when I'm slightly erratic, and have little care/concern for what I'm writing about. Creativity and wit take over then. I know it sounds weird, but without the pressure and the double to quadruple-checking over of every sentence, my work seems to come out better. Haha, my grades can attest to that EDIT: Wow, only 2-5 minutes! I guess I can - wait, no, I'm just erratic right now. :)

Wow, this thread is a complete surprise to me. In any case, are you trying to have a talk about the anime or manga version? It seemed like you were following the anime, but then jump out of nowhere with that manga reference. IMO, it would be nice to have an anime discussion without those smart-aleck manga remarks (i.e., "Oh, we already know that from the manga, us great great manga readers that we are"). I hate elitism...
  21. Additionally, the quote just doesn't match the banner. You might want to work on that also. And borders, people, borders!
  22. The quote fits with the picture. Haha, what's with all the monochrome effect (is that what it is called)? It's really nice with the effect, but wouldn't blue work better? I really don't know - I'm asking. :)
  23.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo ANother Idea, Why not a Naruto lounge? THis has got to be the single anime that created a universe around itself. It expeanisive and is on the level of DBZ in the character listings. Why not?
 Don't you dare compare Naruto with that atrocious flop. In any case, Naruto isn't very well-known in the US, except in manga form. I doubt there could be much discussion until it is brough over and people realize the wonder that is Naruto.
  24.
I was not talking about the characters Apeiron and Lios in the game, but the versions in the Epitaph. We all know that Apeiron is the King of Light in the Epitaph, but Helba make a comment when talking to Lios at "flat stage" (I think that was the name). "Lios. The codename given to a system admin. Are you aware that it is the name of the King of Light that appears in the Epitaph?" That is what Helba said, and it confuses me because Apeiron was the King of Light, not Lios. Unless there is a part of the Epitaph yet to be revealed I cannot see how both names can be the right one.
O_o I'm not following... I read your post three-fold, and I don't see what I missed. Let me just stress my point again:
Lios and Apeiron are one in the same. They are synonymous with each other, and can be used interchangeably, without losing any meaning
.
In fact we have not seen anything that lead us to beleive that Apeiron and Lios is the same person/player/administrator. We have just thoughts and opinions based on what we HAVE seen and played. I really think, as kiteS23, in that maybe the Books of Absolute and Iron were indeed given by Lios in order to delete the PC Kite. However, we can't be sure, since one of the two items was going to be given to Mistral, maybe to give to Kite, maybe for herself. If Apeiron and Lios are the same, I guess we will have to wait for Quarantine to arrive and maybe see what's the deal with him.
We don't have to wait... -_- They aren't going to build on that fact any more, since it's something that you can figure out by now. Second, yes we have seen (and heard) many facts that leads to the conclusion of the single user's duality. Both Black_Phoenix and kiteS23 have stated facts that could not have made the two character's relation any clearer.
  25. On a related note, I've been getting this error message when I access Dagger IXI's (sp?) myOtaku. I don't know what it says because it flashes on the screen too quick for me to read (sometimes it doesn't pop up at all, but I hear it). Is this error part of the "glitches" mentioned at the front of theOtaku.com?
