1.
Originally posted by K.K.C. well, I was checking the schedule at Cartoon Network (Please dont blow up from what im about to say) .hack//sign wont be airing this week, August 9th. Samuri Jack, G Gundam, and all the other shows usually shown on Saterday wont be on either. The usual schedule will Return on August 16th. It looks like there having some cartoon Cartoon marathon or something. Well, just thought I would let you know.
::hitting K.K.C., Ned Flanders style:: No! Why do you lie?! What makes you lie?! j/k ;) Ack, I can't believe that. Well, what would make me feel better is knowing whether CN is going to be airing episodes 27 & 28 or not (very poor, short Trailer available for episode 28 "Unison." Info provided by dot hackers). That would rock if they did, especially seeing what episode 28 is about. Haha, anxiousness overwhelming! Luckily, I've got the finale to Noir to tide me over (just 5 more episodes! Man, so COOL!). I hope, like shadowfire, people have something to hold them back from bombing CN's headquarters - not that I was thinking that :shifty: (if anyone needs the address, PM me. j/k).
  2. Actually, I thought that white space above "Rei Ayanami" was for the name of the person using the banner. You know, if I wanted it, it would say "AzureWolf" in that white space. So, if that wasn't the reason for making it, what was?
  3.
Originally posted by Crazy Ace does anyone else think the poses that were made when they went through the portals were kinda corny and unnecessary
Yeah, Crazy Ace, I'm sorry. This error was my fault. I wanted to put my two cents in for this episode, and didn't until very late. The episode thread you are looking for is below this one. :o

    Friends
So I would have to say that I have loyal friends on the internet, and big mouthed friends of the internet. I am still wandering why I am still friends with the big mouthed friends. *wonders*...
I would have to say that it's quite the opposite for me. Online, I have a group of friends who conspire against each other. It's great (in the sense that it's humorous): they have theories that one person is doing one thing, and they ask me not to tell someone "this-or-that." I wonder how they are friends in the first place... I also wonder why they are telling me these conspiracy theories... My friends offline are a different story. I mean, I'm 19, so I don't really have anything to hide from anyone else... So what is there for me friends to keep quiet about? I've done some embarrasing things, but everyone knows about them because I did them in public (ever do a presentation through acting? It's funny - for the audience).

    Friends

Hmm... I'm sensing some anger... Haha, rather specific friend questions! ;) I have varied friends that I see every now and then, and talk to online when I don't see them offline. However, my closest friends are a small circle (like 5 people, including myself). Haha, my best friend is hilarious: he's on the same thinking level as myself (i.e., we talk about the same things and look into things at the same depth), but his speech makes him more amiable than me. I remember we were talking about "the golden number." My friend started the conversation by saying, "Oh, did you hear about that guy who found the golden #? It's F-ing interesting. You should read when he actually gets to the #. He [got too excited ] about it!" Another time, he was telling me about Christianity, and he showed me how to make holy water. Haha, added the "F" word before every noun! "The Holy ------- Spirit, etc." Good times...
  6.
I don't know who "hates" you, but I'm sure that if they say it, they're only basing it on something very frivolous
So true... 1. Your avatar: scary stuff. I just hate it. It bothers me to no avail. I guess it just reminds me of those freaky things people have in nightmares... 2. You post frequently. Not saying you post badly, but just that you became a junior member in mere days. I was envious. Haha, I'm just fooling. I don't hate you. I hate very few people, and you aren't one of them. :)
  7. You are asking a question that is based on the .hack games. You should definately post this question in the .hack thread in the Sony forum (just so you know for next time). Also, this question is spoiler territory: if you want the games spoiled, go here, and read the last piece of the epitaph that's given in MUTATION (it lists the phases and their functions in order).
  8. Good god, man! My beautiful .hack forum-err :shifty: I mean James' .hack forum... You should try and make more interesting threads. Comparing two animes in a clearly biased forum (this forum is for .hack) isn't something I recommend. Additionally, most of your .hack posts aren't worthwhile.
  9. Thought I should just add that you have to close whatever app uses a file before you can delete it. So, if you are on OB, and you do what Shinji Ikari said to do, you won't remove the OB cookie. Make sure you have IE on a website whose cookie you could care less about (such as google), and then follow Shinji Ikari's instructions.
  10.
I think I liked it so much because the villian is such a likeable, enjoyable charecter...he contrasts Goku so well.
Haha, that was clever. I actually had to read that twice to get it. :) I can't think of a #1, clear-cut favorite, but I will list my three favorites. First, in Naruto, I would have to say the fight with Kakashi and Zabuza,
the first time, as well as at the bridge
merited watching twice. Second, the fight with Naruto and
Haku. Haha, that was freakin' awesome after Sasuke fell: the moment to be floored was when Naruto exclaimed, "I'll rip you apart!" which was even before the real fight started
. You knew, with just the advent of this fight, you wouldn't be disappointed. As for Kakashi and Zabuza - Kakashi's cool, so there's really no need for explanations, are there? :) Lastly, I loved the scene in Noir when Kirika gets
two guns. Haha, you see what she's capable of with just one gun, so you knew the enemy assasins were screwed when she got a second.
Noir was getting their butts kicked, and you had to wonder how they would win against
a group that existed 1000 years more than themselves. Also, I loved how the enemy thought they had everything figured out about Noir, only to have a third cog thrown into the fray.
EDIT: Oh, and I know I said only top three, but I also wanted to mention the scene where Kirika asks for popcorn. That was golden. You have to wonder why someone would ask for popcorn at such a time, especially when Mirielle was just joking when she made the offer. I guess I'm being biased since these two animes are currently my top 3 favorites, so they probably eclipse the other animes in my memory. :whoops: I have to say that DBZ's fight scenes were awesome, but only the Gohan and Buu fight stays memorable in my head.
  11.
There must be a lot of miscommunication over the release date. IIRC www.gamefaqs.com stated that it is in mid-October. I would venture to say that something happened along the way that caused a serious problem.
Yeah, but you see the problem with that is the release date for the .hack card game (.hack//ENEMY) is mid-October. Another rumored release date was September 9th, which is the release date of the .hack//DUSK manga. So, these conflicts question whether OUTBREAK is being released the same time as another .hack merchandise, or these dates are inaccurately being put for OUTBREAK.
Oh, and an easy way to level up (not to mention get a lot of money for high level items) is to go to low levels in the Delta (Mac Anu) server and completely clear the field and dungeon. Generally you can get upwards of 100-150 points for both (not to mention the addition to the Ryu Books). Also open every tresure chest along the way then sell it back at the root town. That is how I got Kite, Blackrose, and Wiseman up to level 58.
58?! Whoa! Haha, that's just crazy! However, it doesn't sound like much fun to go to easy stages and level up. Besides, I need to increase the # of grandpa's, so I just go to 49 or 50 lvl stages. I'll probably try your (surprisingly clever) method after I have enough grandpa visits. :)
  12. Wow, that's a very nice setup. I don't like the red text, though. Wouldn't orange fit the Rikku theme more anyway? Dark on Dark... I just don't like that part. Also, I think the window that has the news/updates should be wider. Everything else is pretty cool. Haha, all those separate windows: nice.
  13. I would have to say Dark Death and doukeshi03. Both are superior graphics artists than I, and their work always floors me. They have inspired me to try harder. Granted, I'm not aiming to be an artist (cutting and pasting other people's work isn't art anyway), but I think it's just cool what some people can do, even though they have the same tools as you. Besides that, I know a few OB members who I consider good online friends. However, as friendly as they are, I wouldn't say they've changed me. And even Dark Death and doukeshi have only inspiried me. Haha, there are some people I am not too fond of (shakes fist at Tical j/k ;)), but that doesn't mean they've changed me.
  14. Actually, there's no set date. :( It was supposed to be out August 5th, but officially, there's never been an announcement of OUTBREAK's release. My friend e-mailed Bandai, and they said just that: no date set yet.
I guess I have to level everyone up to 50+ before the next instalment comes out.
Haha, tell me about it! I'm at level 56 with Kite, Blackrose, and Mistral. Everyone else is at level 55. =/
  15. IMO, time doesn't really matter in the DBZ universe. If you think about it, reincarnation is possible (i.e.,
Uub
), so Brolly could be the latest reincarnation of the legendary S.S. spirit. Just like
Uub
has the capabilities of
Buu
, the old legendary S.S. has his potential in Brolly.
  16. Hmm... I guess there's no way to answer this question without hinting on what's going to happen in MUTATION. Well, let's just say if you still have these questions after you complete MUTATION, I'll be happy to answer them for you. You shouldn't, though. Additionally, I did do a little analysis on the Epitaph of Twilight a while back (http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25239), but I also don't recommend reading that until you finish MUTATION. Oh, and I just realized that some theories I made in the Epitaph thread don't connect when you consider the latest episodes of .hack. Hope that helps... ;)
  17. I love this episode: goes right up there with eps. 14 & 19! "The Eve" cleared up a lot of ambiguity and solidified the characters to another level. Every character gained some new kind of depth. I also love the juxtapositions they use in this show! First Mimiru and Bear, then that Crim thing (red and blue), and now Tsukasa having a father in the real world and a mother in "The World!" Anyway...
I didnt like how BT came back. She is being really stupid. I wish she would just jump off a cliff or something.
Wow, she wrote what everyone was thinking! :) Haha, I would have loved to see B.T. die. Unfortunately, as much as I hate to admit it, that wouldn't fit in this episode: redundancy does play a key role in certain aspects of .hack, but "The Eve" focused only on things to come, and added (instead of developed) things in the .hack universe. I guess that's where the episode's title comes from: a fruition of things to come.
I thought the music was very good as well. Some new songs ^^
Yeah, that was really cool how they started the song and what was happening. It was well executed. The song is "One Thousand and One Nights" from the LIMINALITY soundtrack (it's in the mini-disc). I really love that song... The piano especially. I just dislike the yelling part, but everything that builds to that part is awesome.
Tsukasu snaps out of his trance finally but what's with him yelling out at Crim "Don't hit me, Don't hit me", what's the deal with that but Crim plays it cool like " I'm not gonna hit you".
You have to realize that Tsukasa has lost all guidance and trust (for others). In the real world, he only had a father figure, and he turned out to be hurtful - not someone Tsukasa's user could feel secure with. In "The World," Tsukasa thinks he now has a female/mother figure to give his entrustment to. When even that fails, experiencing both male and female guardians, Tsukasa is torn and destroyed. He no longer knows a gender direction that he can turn to. He wants to return to reality, but doesn't know if other people are something he wants. That's where Subaru steps in, IMO.
So it is true! Subaru is Handicapped! Thank you Crim for answering questions! *sacrafices BT* Hm... I loved how he explained her situation on why she wanted to play the world. And how she faces her challenges... More Wise words from Crim...
Haha, didn't I tell you Subaru is more in the game than even Tsukasa? The creators don't put stuff in for nothing. I like how .hack//SIGN has no excess: everything has a reason/use.
And the part when they all met at Helba's gate place. And then talked about the book thing... I bet Bear wrote it! *twitches* I also thought it was cool how they all did some kind of Neat-O pose before warping to that place that Helba was sending them. Crim's, was of course the coolest ^_^
I have to agree with shadowfire on this one: I think Mimiru's was the coolest. I'm inspired to make a banner with that pose! Anyone interested in a Mimiru Banner? j/k :) Silver Knight's pose was just lame, and so was B.T.'s (primarily because it was B.T.). :p
Well, I watched it again and got kinda confussed at the aprt when Crim was talking to Subaru. She said she wouldnt get in his way (at first I thought she said she wouldnt be at his wedding >_< ) I didnt get that part. I also didnt understand how Crim knew Tsukasa would come to the church...
She meant that she doesn't want to make people worry over her. She believes it's now her turn to help someone out (Tsukasa). She's been protected her whole life (in "The World," I mean), and she finally has the chance to do the same for someone else. Crim knew Tsukasa would come to the church because he knows Subaru. I mean, because Subaru and Tsukasa are so much alike, Crim knows how Tsukasa should act if he was truly someone Subaru could relate to. He didn't know 100% percent, but he was betting that if he knows Subaru, Tsukasa would come. I'll elaborate more after the next quote. :)
Tsukasa still has mental problems, but at least he is out of that **** trance. And is it just me, or do those fireflies seem to be symbolic of Tsukasa and Subaru's relationship? They only show up around those two, and only when they are thinking of each other.
Yes, it's exactly that. Tsukasa and Subaru are both "trapped" in the game: this world is the world they prefer and admire. It's the reality they embrace. Now, the bug is a subtle, small part of nature. You don't notice such detail except in real life, and in nature. Such a life that is fragile has to be held and cared for in order for it to thrive. Tsukasa kills that bug at the end of episode 1 (remember?), believing that he was not a fragile being that needed direction, and that he had found his place. That's the relation that the bug symbolizes: both Subaru and Tsukasa are young (mentally), and need sustenance. Obviously, in episode 19, Subaru surpassed that state (that's why she said she was waiting for him), but Tsukasa is still weak. That's why Subaru can understand and seems to know Tsukasa best. She connects to him in this respect. Haha, that's my two cents. Yeah, I'm a psycho... Go ahead and say so. ;)
  18. I also think his title is "Crim the Red Lightning." When people hear the part about "red lightning," they immediately realize that Crim's name is short for Crimson. That's cool and clever at the same time. Ironically, Crim's mark (on his chest) and his hair are blue, so they emphasize the crimson/red theme. Get what I mean? Because blue is the contrast for red, it makes the red stand out more. Say, anyone notice I like the color blue? :D

    Desktop.

Hey, I just want to ask a question to everyone who has already posted: what is the criteria for something to be put on your desktop? On this thread, I've seen from minimalistic desktop icons, to a clutter-fest. I've also seen the weirdest things put on a desktop (a text file?! What's up with that?!). So I want to know why you put certain things in, and keep other things out. Thanks. :) Personally, I put programs that I might open at startup. The others are just set to open automatically, and Internet Explorer is in the quick launch bar. Yeah, that "Stair Dismount" game is a stress reliever. Haha, knocking someone down a flight of stairs: there's something relieving about that. :) Anyway, I thought I'd post another one of my desktop instances. I think this one looks really cool, especially with the little phoenix there, so I took a snapshot of it. I also love the background (I wonder if anyone knows I like .hack :shifty: ).
  20. Geez, mystikal: you take the phrase "You are your own worst critic" to a whole new level. :) Conversely, you have probably the best work I've ever seen. It's hard to criticize when someone does such a good job, but you did point out some things that aren't noticeable until you, the creator, reveal them. Yeah, that "guy" really looks like a girl (I've never seen you make a guy - one that actually looks like a male :D). Additionally, I never even saw those ring things until you pointed them out, but I would love to see how the picture looks with them properly colored. EDIT: This picture isn't my favorite out of all your work, and, relative to your other pieces, I like it much less. Stand-alone, however, it's great (I just think you've done MUCH better before). Thought I'd say that too. Hope you don't take that too negatively. :)
  21. I'll play along! Please excuse me since I don't know the ropes of this quizzing thing. Are we only allowed to ask questions with solid answers, or can we also ask ones that are more open-ended? Anyway, the name of the group is CyberConnect2 (also known as CC Corporation). I'm pretty sure that's the group's name. Ironically, it's also the name of the group responsible for the real games (INFECTION and so forth). I think CC2 was created (in real life) when Project .hack came along. Pretty cool, IMO. Question: What does the grunty in episode 2 tell Tsukasa after it grows up? EDIT: Sorry about that, teptep: I was still typing when you posted. I don't know the answer to your question, though. :(
  22. ::Looks Around:: Wonder if anyone will see this post... Haha, I don't know why I didn't put my two cents in before! Now it's only a few hours before the very next episode airs. I would like to make a few comments, though. :)
Another thought springs to mind. I have also noticed the similarity between Aura's and Harold's hair.
Haha, I call that look the "ethereal" effect. I think they have that kind of hair because of exactly what ethereal implies: ghosts within "The World" who are not exactly in the same plane as other characters who play the game.
I liked this one a lot and I'm going to call it a turning point. One reason is because they have a specific something they know they need to do, I mean Bear, Mimiru, and Subaru or a specific event they know must take place so they now have a clearer direction to go in. That is, instead of just wondering and asking Q's and standing and discussing things unknown.
I know what you mean. This episode could have been aptly called "Direction." "Phantom" fits for the reason I just mentioned above, but I guess "Direction" would have been too simplistic for a .hack//SIGN episode title.
I don't know about you all but, I found it strange that Maha did some disappearing action right before Balmung came and was not shown again until after the monster that Sora and Silver Knight came upon was gone. Did anyone notice that or find that strange any? When Maha was shown again, he had some look on his face; I can't think of a word for it but, I think it's the look you have when you've just done something you really didn't want to or similar to that. Another thing, why did that piece of grass Maha was holding suddenly start to disintegrate? Why did he seem startled? It even happened while Morganna was dealing with Harold (the broken man).
Wow, I really never gave that a thought! Haha, that's a good eye you have! Good point, especially with how Maha's face was afterwards. I wonder if Maha's helping to spread whatever's making those "unbeatable" monsters... Is the word you were looking for "disgust?" As for the grass, I think Morganna was responsible. I mean, she did frag Harald Hyuek (right?). That's why Bear and friends had to leave.
Hm.. K.K.C..? Warped Aura = Morganna? OOOH, that's an interesting idea and plot twist.. Maybe Morganna (A bodiless voice) would use Aura's body as a puppet, or a suit, for herself so she can cause more destruction in The World. But why does Morganna want The World destroyed..?
Interesting theory, but isn't Morganna already alive? I doubt she would care for having a body... Additionally, I've attached a picture that seems to have both Aura versions. I found this pic on some website, but I think it's just one of the pictures on one of the postcards that come with Vol. 1. I really like the picture, since it makes much more sense with this episode, and now you can understand the symbolism created with Tsukasa in the middle/center.
  23. Koala Su, you have really come a long way from when you first started (which I think was around the time I joined OB). Your banners are very impressive, especially with that "signature style" you seem to have (you know, that "cut" you do here and there to the picture). Haha, you've got talent! :) EDIT: Did I say you this stuff to you before? I could have sworn I did...
  24. I know what you mean! The style the song uses is clever. It asks a question at the beginning, and then answers it in the finale. The song even works itself into the answer after it asks the question. I have to say that Outlaw Star's "Through the Night" is definately one of my favorites (I never really thought which one was my #1 favorite). It's uplifting, and can really knock the depression out of you. Haha, believe it or not, I usually listen to it after watching a sad movie/scene/anime or something that just gets me down. :)
  25. I'm so sorry to hear that, Lady Macaiodh. :bawl: To be honest, when I saw your thread in the Literature section, I thought you were honoring the birth of your son, so everyone will know him and realize his importance to you. I feel so ignorant... Still, I hope all your future children bring about such wonderful inspiration, and invoke you to make just as beautiful contributions as your first child has. Accept my condolences, and please never give up on life: it's precious, and I think you now know that better than most people.
